Sheriff Frank Lester is trying to solve two heinous murders, and, as usual, old lady Myrtle, who used to see ghosts all the time, but not so much lately, just has to get involved. By sheer determination and her usual stubbornness she forces the sheriff to let her help solve the crimes. Old Myrtle has other troubles, though. A strange ethereal white entity is stalking her, and she fears it’s the angel of death. Abigail is busy painting a mural for Vicki’s new chocolate shop, and Kate at The Delicious Circle has hired a homeless woman to help her and her husband, Norman, out at the bakery. Harvey has a new friend, a cute baby squirrel he rescues off the side of the road, and names Little Buddy; a ghost of his own who is desperately trying to warn him of something terrible coming. And Glinda, the psychic, also can foresee something cataclysmal heading for them, too. But neither know what the disaster approaching is. So come and revisit them and many more in the foggy, mysterious little town called Spookie. They’re all waiting for you. Now there are eleven in the series.

Since childhood I’ve been an artist, and have worked as a graphic designer in the corporate world and for newspapers for twenty-three years before I quit to write full time. But I’d already begun writing novels at 21, over fifty-five years ago now, and have had forty-one (romantic horror, horror novels, romantic SF horror, romantic suspense, romantic time travel, historical romance, thrillers, one non-fiction short story collection, dinosaur books, and murder mysteries) previous novels and thirteen short stories published from various traditional publishers since 1984. But I’ve gone into self-publishing in a big way since 2012; and upon getting all my previous books’ full rights back for the first time in 36 years, have self-published all of them. I was married to Russell for over forty-three years; have a son, two grandchildren and a great-granddaughter. I live in a small quaint town in Illinois. I have a quirky cat, Sasha, and we live happily in an old house in the heart of town. Though I’ve been an artist, and a folk/classic rock singer in my youth with my late brother Jim, writing has always been my greatest passion, my butterfly stage, and I’ll probably write stories until the day I die…or until my memory goes.

Ok story

Story was ok, a little disappointed with the ending. Thought there would be more about the occurrence, cats and other prominent characters at the end.
Hopefully will have a bit more about it at the beginning of the next book.

Spoke murders and mysteries always a winner!

Spoiler and the families who live there seem so real and a part of a family everyone either knows or wish they did.
Two more murders need to be solved and of course Myrtle is on the job, asking questions and sticking her nose in where it shouldn't be but someone has to help the sheriff. As if murdering the town's nursing home residents isn't enought, something has poor old Kettle afraid to be out alone and even Harvey is spooked by a past life visit from one of his brothers.
As always this book is a winner.

Enjoyable!

I love this series but it’s pretty obvious that this book wasn’t proofread by a human because there were several errors in it, the first one being just four or five pages into the book. I would have given five stars but running across errors is something that really dampens my reading experience so I took off one star.

I love Spookie and all of the characters that live there. I think I would mix well in that goofy community. Looking forward with anticipation and sadness as I start the last book in the series. I have ideas for more.
