OUT OF THE DARKNESS

Poor Kyohei is cursed . . . no, not by the devil or evil spirits. Not even by the dark, macabre Sunako, the girl he and his three pals have been trying to transform into a demure lady. Kyohei is cursed by his own good looks. When Sunako rejects him for being too good-looking, Kyohei runs way. His friends wonder what could have happened to him, but only Sunako, racked with guilt, knows the truth. It appears that the only way for Sunako to save poor Kyohei is to become a true creature of the light. But can Sunako finally emerge from the Goth shadows and bring Kyohei home, or will she be drawn back into the darkness once again?

Perfect Girl Evolution vol. 10
by Tomoko Hayakawa

5 out of 5 stars

Finally, the beginning of the true love journey of Ranmaru. Tbh, I really like the relationship between Ranmaru and the princess--forgetting her name.

Then, we do know that Sunako is indeed to care without really saying, right?

===========

Review:
Aku mau comment covernya dulu. Jadi, di cover depan ada gambarnya Sunako. Kelihatan cantik banget. Kelihatan ladynya. Buat cover belakangnya nggak gitu suka. Sunako pakai kimono tapi berkesan ibu-ibu banget. Jadinya nggak kelihatan unyu.

Part 39 Pusat Badai Bertualang

Takenaga to Sunako.

Akhirnya, nemu jaga kata-kata keren selain yang diucapkan sama Kyouhei.
Jadi, Kyouhei sedang melakukan aksi nggak mau pulang ke kediaman Nakahara. Sunako jadi merasa bersalah karena pernah bilang ‘aku nggak mau sama makhluk menyilaukan.’. Karena rasa bersalah itulah, Sunako melakukan berbagai cara agar Kyouhei mau pulang.

Kyouhei sama Sunako emang saling percaya deh.

Why do I feel like this one was shorter than the rest? Of course, I enjoyed it (Naie is my fav) and my ship is SLOWLY progressing. But progressing nonetheless. I find that there are some confusing parts as it never says... "The next day... etc" it just jumps straight into a new chapter and something new is happening. Sometimes it isn't even coherent as you have to piece it together yourself and connect the dots. It wasn't as apparent before, but I feel like in this volume it really does show. It's only just personal preference, but I do wish everything was more clear...

The Wallflower, Vol. 10 brings back the happy and fun times! After Vol. 9 I really needed it!

Volume 10 picks up right where Volume 9 left off. Kyohei has not returned home (his home with Sunako and the guys), and is instead wandering around traveling and eating. Only Sunako knows why he hasn’t returned - and Takenaga quickly figures out that something happened. Let’s just say, Sunako is confronted for her actions - and the boys try and convince Kyohei to come home. Sunako, attempts to overcome the light and offers her own incentive for Kyohei to come home. They don’t actually talk about what happened, but I think Kyohei understood what Sunako was doing to try and bring him home.

After the reunion the three other chapters are the “fun” chapters that are commonplace in this series. There is a sports festival - where Kyohei and Sunako go head to head each determined to fulfill their dreams! This chapter was a lot of fun - they were in it for purely selfish reasons, but ended up inspiring the whole school. In the next chapter Ranmaru tries to escape an arranged marriage! This chapter was actually very funny, and interesting in terms of Ranmaru’s possible development. I think we’ll be seeing more of the “fiance/princess” in the future. The final chapter was on how Kyohei wanted to have Nabe (hot pot) around a Kotatsu. This one focused a lot on Kyohei and Sunako - despite their affectionately antagonistic relationship - they really do care about each other - it’s so cute! Okay so they don’t actually come out and say it, but actions speak louder than words!

I’m so glad to see everyone together again (even Noi-chan made a brief appearance in this volume - after being missing from volume 9)! I look forward to seeing what they get into next!

Overall Rating: B
Synopsis: A Shōjo comedy/romance manga created by Tomoko Hayakawa. At the beginning of the manga, Sunako Nakahara confesses her love to a boy, who utterly rejects her and tells her she's ugly. As any reasonably young person would do, Sunako then discards all traces of her femininity, and retreats into odd and morbid hobbies, such as collecting skulls.

Fortunately, Sunako's aunt owns a mansion that four gorgeous boys live in (huh?). Apparently, the boys pay rent to live in the mansion, and the aunt offers them free rent if they give Sunako a Pygmalian-esque makeover, and she becomes a "perfect lady". The boys set to work, and hilarity ensues.

Often, Sunako is shown as an exaggerated version of her true self that looks like a female version Cartman from Southpark. Will these gorgeous boys succeed? Will Sunako's inner beauty shine through?

I passed over The Wallflower several times before checking it out. I'm not a huge fan of the art, but I love the ridiculous plot so far. This works pretty well as a comedy/romance Shōjo, and I'm interested in the characters. The series is ongoing, so I'm not sure how long they can keep the plot interesting, but I'll definitely be reading it for awhile. It has a lot of potential.

you know what i think? i think sunao nakahara gets me. i mean sure i'm not into the horror scene but being super intensely into things people think of as a bit weird? you better believe it! introverted and only able to cope with full on socializing in limited amounts? aww yeah. posessed of an impressive strength and dedication to trying hard?

well i suspect that's more a trait i aspire too than necessarily have atm but hey! close enough. can i help it if sunao's a hufflepuff and i'm ravenclaw? we can still bond by way of me giving her all the horror books she could possibly desire

i'm not sure when this review devolved into nonsense but it definitely did so perhaps i should end here. 3 stars

Sunako learns more about how difficult life is being one of the beautiful people when sees how Kyohei’s home life was like and she only made it worse with her default bad attitude towards him... she is racked with guilt over what she said and wants to make it up to him the only way she knows how... with food.

It is also school sport day and it all comes down to Kyohei vs Sunako as they battle for #1. In this volume we also are introduced to Ranmura’s Princess. Ranmura isn’t ready to settle down and be engaged... but he can’t get her out of his mind... hmm.

It’s cold outside and Kyohei wants to have a nabe party with a Kotatsu, so he goes to the market with Sunako and well, chaos ensues - why does everyone think they are boyfriend and girlfriend? hmmm.

New favorite volume in the series. After Kyohei left in the previous volume, it is up to the guys to come up with a plan to get him back. After that, Kyohei and Sanako square off in an athletic competition at school, but its more than school spirit driving them. Then we're introduced to a new love interest for one of the guys except she's nothing like he's ever dated before. Finally, the gang decides that the cool temperatures require some traditional celebration and set off on a quest to obtain everything required

lucu emang...
pd hal snrnya dia cantik!!!
tapi krn dia terlalu suram or ga mau menampakkan kecantikannya orng jd takut sama dia, namanya Sunako(ky nama tkh the ring ya) tapi mang mrk mirip..

Here are the last chapters of the anime. My favorites are the annual competition at school and the Kotatsu chapter. As always, Kyohei and Sunako-chan together are hilarious, especially when they are competing against each other.

The chapter that was MEH in my opinion: Ranmaru's. He is my least favorite character in the manga, with his whole obsession with older women (he is just 15-years-old!). The 'princess' is just OK, very dull comparing to Sunako-chan and Noi-chi.

Namun demikian mereka sama-sama saling peduli. Sunako pintar mengurus urusan rumah tangga.

So much emotions at the beginning!! That are quickly blown away by the characters personality. That was really funny! I like to see how the author let us think that this is it! Kyohei and Sunako are going to admit their undying love for each other (although at this point is more a weird-like friendship) but no! It get turned into a funny situation

Loved this series. I love reverse harem type series especially when the girl is considered to be 'plain.' Nakahara was a hilarious character and I loved all of her creepy ways.

It was similar in my mind to Boys Over Flowers. Same general concept and characters.

Oh....I want to sit at a kotatsu now. :) Actually I'm liking this volume quite a bit. Either I'm mellowing on the series or it's improving as it goes. Not sure which.
