Let's face it. Life with Alex Chase is all it's cracked up to be... and more.
Being pursued by vampires and a slayer all intent on ending your existence... not so much.
After a whirlwind courtship that has Brooke bonded and married to one of the most powerful vampires in existence, she's ready to settle down to a normal life.
But, unfortunately, between Brooke's newly acquired ability to see visions foreshadowing the future, and dealing with the Regency, Lucien, and an ex with a secret; normal is the last thing her life returns to.
And just when it seems things can't get anymore complicated, Brooke and Alex face something that threatens the strength of their trust in each other and tests the boundaries of their love forever.
Another great installment! The story picks right up where the first book left off and the author has a seamless way of filling you in on things that happened in the first story in case you missed anything. The chapters are all packed with smooth action and twists. The end leaves you just as hungry as when you started...but in a good way. Looking forward to book #3!!!
Every now and again I like to go through my Kindle and read books that have been sitting there for like ever as with new books that I want being released every day , the older books keep going down the list on the Kindle. After being in a reading slump for four days, I needed something to sink my teeth into and to spark my energy for book reading - so up came Foreshadowed - a vampire novel. Now I wasn't sure how much I would enjoy this, as I have gone off Vampires a bit but people I loved this book and it was such an easy read. The best thing too is that even though this was Book #2 in the series, I didn't have to read Book #1 to understand the story as you were able to get the gist of the background of the tale. In Foreshadowed the main characters Brooke and Alex have just married and it seems that Brooke who Alex turned is on the run from the Romanians and a particular vampire called Lucian who will do everything in his power to have her under his command including kidnapping and leaving Brooke's best friend Anna near-death. It does seem though that Brooke is a magnet for trouble as her ex-boyfriend and longtime friend Brad has joined a group of Vampire Hunters - will he turn on Brooke now that she is one of the Hunted ? Or will Brad realise that not all Vampires are Evil and deep down despite now being a Vampire, she is the same Brooke is has known all their lives ? Find out in Foreshadowed by Erika Trevathan . A quick and easy Vampire read and perfect if you are wanting to take a break from all that New Adult and Contemporary Romance floating about currently.
Wasn't expecting this to turn into a series. I have to wonder why they didn't kill that Ophelia girl or whatever her name is, she is nothing but trouble.
Book 2 gets even better with twists and turns and a few surprises. Battles lie ahead for our couple but there’s a chance for happiness as well. Brooke and Alex are fantastic together and I adore Ethan.
I was kinda surprised there was a sequel to Crimson Bond. That one pretty much seemed wrapped up. But I saw this on Amazon and downloaded it right away - no matter what I thought of the first one, I can't just let a sequel sit out there unread. So, we continue the story of Brooke and Alex, and of course she gets kidnapped, again; but she was significantly less annoying in this book than in the first book. This was a quick read, and again the ending pretty much wraps up, with just a little bit of a hint that there will be another book, and that there are some loose ends. But, you could stop here I think and pretend that they live happily ever after and be okay. I liked this one better than the first; the characters were less obnoxious and the story was a little more fulfilling.
I enjoyed this story. I loved the way it continues smoothly from the first story. It was fun to watch Alex and Brooke grow as a couple, learning to overcome each and every obstacle thrown at them. The friendships grew and evolved beautifully.
Loved the second book; I couldn't put it down. I was annoyed with Brad coming in as more of a main character, but at the end he seems to fit. Again, the way Erika describes the scenes and the emotions of the characters involved work great to set up a clear picture.
This was a good book. You could tell the author is new. There were many typo's and grammar mistakes. Overall, I like the plot and the characters. Did feel a bit rushed though.
Well written and at the same time not losing the plot, would have given five star,s a little too much on the love scenes but would recommend this book to every reader I know. Looking forward to the next book.
