Man, what is it with this series? In the time the entire series got published in Germany not a single new volume was out or even announced in the original. Is it on indefinite hiatus? Or dead entirely? It's a shame either way, I really like it :(

My third or fourth reread—I honestly don’t remember which—and I fear I’m still as obsessed with this story and these characters, especially Yoshino, as I was when I first read it in 2021. I'm a bit sad that it's not finished yet, and as of March this year, I know it's currently on hiatus, but I just know that once it is completed, my reread count will definitely be over ten. What can I say? I’m just in love with how insane, toxic, and at times ridiculous this manga is.

J'ai adoré ce tome 8 ! Il a de sacrées surprises dedans ! Notamment concernant Kirishima ! On comprend enfin certaines choses et son obsession pour Yoshino. C'était à mon sens important de connaître en partie le cheminement de ce personnage si sombre et tellement noir !
Je n'ai pas vu les pages défiler tellement j'étais prise par ma lecture. Pareil, on en découvre un peu plus sur la famille de notre héroïne si badass.

Bref. C'est un excellent tome et comme d'habitude, je suis ultra fan du coup de crayon de Asuka Konishi. Pour moi, Criminelles fiançailles est un excellent seinen combinant suspense et romance. Un régal !

I devoured every single volume of Yakuza Fiance. I was devested when I finished the series (came up to date). The author only publishes one volume a year. It's safe to say that I will jumping onto the next volume the second it is released!

Yakuza Fiance has a gripping blend of dark romance, crime drama, and psychological tension, following Yoshino and Kirishima. Nah, I just can't. This almost-rape is a big NO for me. It's not just because it's a plot point or because it lacks realism. In fact, it's quite realistic, given Kirishima's character and the overall violent nature of the manga. No, that's not the issue. The problem lies in how it was depicted. It all comes down to the author's choices. What do I mean? Well, the author drew it like porn. It was not drawn like almost-rape. It was drawn in a way that solely aims to provoke a reaction based on visual stimuli - akin to pornography. Additionally, the author seems to regret the fact that her characters aren't older. They behave as if they're in their twenties, perhaps even pushing into their thirties. They don't act like typical teenagers, not even ones involved in the yakuza. I give up.

fajnie w końcu poznać trochę bardziej Kirishimę, ale jak każą mi czekać rok na kolejny tom to się wkurzę, bo akurat zapowiadają że Yoshino i Kirishima się zbliżą jakoś do siebie w końcu [dajcie mi w końcu romans w tym romansie, a nie tylko yakuza to, yakuza tamto T-T]

Let’s be real, this volume could’ve been titled Yoshino’s Guide to How to Train Your Psychopath and I’d still eat it up 😅

This is the first time we really see Yoshino caring for Kirishima — like not just tolerating him, but actively choosing to understand him?? Emotional progress in this house, let’s go!! 🙌

The flashbacks to baby Kirishima? Insane. Hilarious. A little sad. A lot iconic. Making someone bully you just to feel something then beating them up because they failed the assignment??? This boy is not well — and I love that for us. ❤ He’s a misunderstood menace and I am seated.

Also… the author redrawing past scenes from Kirishima’s POV instead of just copy-pasting??? Peak storytelling. Peak fan service. Peak ✨effort✨. Seeing how he’s always noticed and admired Yoshino’s badassery? Ugh. Soulmate-coded.

His passcodes are HER passcodes I— 😭😭😭 This man locked himself in a basement just to vibe with his unhinged devotion and I simply can't. The soft touches? The subtle emotions?? I'M UNWELL.

And then… it ends here?? RIGHT when it gets even better?? And now the manga’s on hiatus??? Hello, I’m going to be rereading this volume every full moon like a ritual until the anime airs and we (hopefully) get the next chapter by then. Small hopes, big delusions. We ride.

This started off slow enough that it made me wonder why people were so obsessed with this story and utterly ecstatic that this was getting an anime adaptation, but the development of the story was absolutely insane. Now that I've basically inhaled this manga in a short amount of time, I can honestly understand the hype because I, too, love this so much.
Everyone knows that I'm all for a strong FL and Yoshino certainly takes one of the top spots for being one of the best, especially considering that the ML she has to deal with is a literal psychopath. And despite being crazy, Kirishima's character is one you can't help but like as the manga progresses. This story is fantastic.
Now I'm gonna get in line and patiently wait for the next volume.

J'ai lu l'entièreté de la saga par ennui à moitié et curiosité de voir où ça allait. Résultat je trouve que c'est vraiment pas LE shojo de l'année comme bcp l'avaient vendu
Les personnages sont creux et semblent être des copies d'archétypes, les interactions entre eux sont pas naturelles et globalement le plot ressemble à n'importe quelle fiction qu'on trouvait sur wattpad circa 2014.
C'est dommage parce qu'honnêtement l'œuvre avait bcp de potentiel et aurait pu être qqchose d'intéressant mais bon, malheureusement on retombe dans les clichés de personnages de shojo sans même d'interprétation intéressante de ces derniers

We finally got some backstory for Kirishima and oh my god 😭 i am obsessed with this psychotic man. You don’t understand. I literally need anyone who’s ever enjoyed a mafia romance to drop everything and give this series a try. I’m physically unwell with how this volume ended and I honestly don’t know how I’m gonna deal with having to wait for vol 9 I NEED IT NOW
