Rate this book
"That just couldn't have been what it sounded like, there is no way. Absolutely no way."

One mother's worst nightmare unfolded upstairs during an algebra study session. A firearm accident took the life of her son and she was left to bear her utter devastation.

How could she move forward?

In Grief tenderly reveals Joni Robbins' story of losing her dear son, Ethan, as well as the grief and healing that followed. Walk through the chaos of Joni's darkest days in her search for answers and meaning. See thoughtful, practical instruction on how to guide oneself or others through grief.

This honest memoir is for those who grieve and those who walk alongside grievers. Be encouraged by a story of faith and hope in the midst of grief and darkness.

Joni Robbins, a wife, mother, and follower of Jesus is a business owner and community builder. She and her husband, Chad, along with their Australian Shepherds Levi, Elsie and Pecan live in Eastern North Carolina. In Grief is her first memoir.

In her book, In Grief, Joni Robbins takes you on the heart-wrenching journey of a parent’s worst nightmare.
You will find yourself immersed into her family’s own heart-breaking story of losing a child through journal like entries as she reveals the process of moving through life after that horrifying day.
My tears flowed through most of the book as I was drawn into their unshakable agony but also through the glimmers of hope as she held tightly to her faith in Jesus. The journey of grief takes on a life of it’s own, but there is hope in our risen Savior who will never leave us nor forsake us. Even when the pain seems as if it will suffocate you.
Joni’s willingness to bear open her broken heart, with painfully raw and honest vulnerability will be a gift to all bereaved parents, as well as for friends of those who have suffered such great loss.
