I enjoyed this one! It was fast-paced and exciting graphic novel, and I liked all the supernatural elements. The art style was really good, and the story was interesting. I would definitely check out the other volumes.
Definitely made a fan out of me! Being a huge fan of horror and comics/manga, this was absolutely perfect for me. There is enough character backstory, story development, and scene-building between the action that it keeps the reader entertained and stuck to the pages.
So far, I not only love the main character, Harriet, but I love Chip and Venus as well.
I can't wait to see what else is at stake (pun intended) for Harriet, Chip, and the rest of the group. If you're a fan of Hellsing meets history, this is absolutely for you!
It's almost entirely action. Like there's a little plot but only so they can squeeze in more katana action. It feels like Samurai Jack but with superpowered Harriet Tubman. It's cool but it feels kind of disingenuous to her legacy. Maybe I'm overthinking what should just be a fun look at history.
