Matt

After my girlfriend died, I didn’t think I could open my heart again.
Until I met Pepper. She’s feisty and sweet, and I want her. She doesn’t know it yet, but I think she could be my forever girl.

There's one she’s on the run, but won’t tell me why.

Then I become a single dad overnight (to the world's cutest baby boy, may I add) thanks to a no-name hookup from last year.

Between figuring out fatherhood and trying to help Pepper, life is a dumpster fire. But wait, there's more. We’re in more trouble than either of us realize.

When the truth is exposed and danger threatens at every corner, I’m determined to make sure we make it out alive.

Exposed is a 74k word spicy stand-alone with a guaranteed happy ending. Due to mature themes and language, this romance is intended for those 18 and older.

This one was on a tougher side for me. I really enjoyed the writing style, and on the whole I did really like Matt and Pepper. But it felt to me like the plot was just so much, it was hard to get a sense of the MC's together and happy. It just felt like there was something else that added to the suspense and stress of the plot constantly. It would have been nice to get more of a break between the intenser plot points, so we could really see the MC's together and settling in together and happy. But otherwise, I really liked this book! I like the background that Pepper comes from and how she proves to everyone how strong and smart she is at every turn. And Matt's determination to step up to the plate and take care of his people is such a wonderful thing to watch. I also really loved the side characters and I really loved seeing how they interacted through the whole story. On the whole, I liked this book! 4 stars, 3 chili peppers.

Tropes:
- Single Dad
- Romantic Suspense
- FMC on the Run
- InstaLove
- Goodest Girl Puppy

Matt been trying to focus on his job as a wedding photographer after losing his girlfriend in a tragedy four year ago. When a caterer that he is intrigued about needs help he jumps in to rescue her. Too bad Lucy aka “Pepper” doesn’t want any help. She is hiding from something or someone. When Matt sees Lucy needs a place to stay he offers he come stay with him. It’s meant to be a friend helping a new friend. He might need that help after a surprise delivery at his door leaves him a single dad! Maybe they can help each other both find what they’re missing in life and find more! I loved how adorable Matt is with his baby! A sweet yet emotional friends to lovers romance with a side of mystery, action, drama and k/nk! Get ready for it all! Told in first person and dual POV.

I’m honestly very confused how there are no low reviews for this book? I don’t want to be mean bc I know a book is an author’s labor of love but this just wasn’t it for me. It felt like the she tried to put every trope under the sun into a single book. It felt inauthentic and bizarre. Sorry to everyone who thought this was the best book they’ve read this year - I’m glad you enjoyed it but I just did not. 😬

Leigh Skarin has done it again! I absolutely loved the first two books in the Let Me Love You series, and Exposed continues the vibes with one of my favorite tropes - single dad! Matt is an absolute sweetheart, and I loved trying to figure out what was going on with Pepper. If you love thrillers or romantic suspense, you need to get this on your TBR!

Oh my goodness y'all, I absolutely loved Matt. He's so kind, so earnest, and he has the biggest heart (and the dirtiest mouth). The guy is always thinking of others - from his sweet rescue dog, to taking in Pepper when she's living in her car, to , his selflessness is admirable. When we meet Pepper, she's on the run, and WOW, as her backstory comes out, she's been through SO much. No matter what she thinks, she absolutely deserves an incredible man like Matt, and it was beautiful watching them find each other and make a family.

The end of this one - OMG! The action gets crazy really quickly, and it's pretty intense, but I loved the ultimate HEA. I'm so grateful to Leigh for once again trusting me with one of her books, and I hope you will all give it a read when it's released!

☆ 4.5/5 & 2/5 spice

"I notice how special you are, Pep. I see you. And tonight, I want to see what you're like when you let go."

“I want to be the safe place you call home, Princess.”

Matt and Pepper’s story had me hooked from the very beginning and I was flying through it. I love the black cat x golden retriever vibes and the single dad x nanny tropes in this book.

Matt, after losing his long-time girlfriend in a tragic accident, he has sworn off love, until he meets Pepper and is drawn to her. Pepper captures his attention and Matt is doing everything he can to protect and ensure she is safe after finding out that she is keeping a secret and is on the run. After getting Pepper to agree to stay at his place, Matt’s life quickly changes when a baby is left on his doorstep and he finds out that this sweet boy is his son. Matt steps up and becomes the best dad he can be with the help of Pepper, who he quickly begins to fall head over heels for. Matt is such a golden retriever guy and it makes you instantly fall in love with him and how he goes above and beyond to care for Pepper and his son.

The added romantic suspense kept me on the edge of my seat and I was so invested with everything that was happening. These two were my fave in the series and their connection with each other was so sweet and genuine. Such a fun and exciting read.

What to expect:
✨ Pleasure dom
✨ Single dad x nanny
✨ Roommates to lovers
✨ Marriage arrangement
✨ Heroine on the run
✨ Suspense & plot twists
✨ Kink exploration
✨ Found family
✨ Hidden identity

Well well well… looks like I found yet another author that I absolutely love! Leigh Skarin is simply amazing. I loved the route she took Matt and Pepper “Jasmine”. She will always be Pepper to me. The way she developed these characters was beautiful. Both have tragic pasts. “I can’t give you my heart, but you can have my name” ugh I just love Matt and his pure and protective traits. And Pepper the one who had nothing ends up with her dreams coming true. I can’t say enough how amazing this book and author are. You will just have to read it yourself. Thank you Leigh for letting me be a part of the amazing ARC team.

This was my first read by Leigh Skarin, and I loved every minute of it. This book had me hooked since the very beginning. I felt really connected to the characters and felt like I could relate to them. I honestly loved everything about this book. The plot was great, and the characters were really amazing. I definitely need to go read the other books in this series. I'm looking forward to reading more great books by Leigh Skarin.

Wow, Leigh absolutely outdid herself with this one. Another addicting, provoking, and thoughtful standalone read in the Let Me Love You series.
This writer isn’t praised enough for her ability to draw readers in and keep them emotionally charged and engaged.
The plot will you draw you in, and the development of the characters and world-building will keep you fully immersed in Matt and Pepper’s world long after you finish.
Matt is caring, persistent, and emotionally driven to form some kind of relationship with Pepper. She is lost and just wants happiness, freedom, and safety in her life. The joy, chemistry, and emotion these two share is palpable and will keep you reading far past your bedtime.
I don’t regret one bit of sleep I missed to get this book read. I didn’t want it to end and already craving more from this world.
An excellent, and breath of fresh air read!

"Right here, right now, you are safe with me."

"I notice how special you are, Pep. I see you. And tonight, I want to see what you're like when you let go."

That quote! Oh my heart! So, this was my first Leigh Skarin book and I was honored to get the ARC to read and review it! First, I really enjoyed the couple. I think that they had great banter, dialogue and chemistry. My favorite part was the conversations they had and this instinctual need to protect each other, even from the beginning. Oh and Matt's dog! Shani the golden retriever stole the show!

The story starts off with Matt, he is a photographer who is still recovering from the loss of his girlfriend who passed away a couple of years ago. Moving on was not something he ever saw in his future, until one night, while he was working a wedding, he noticed the beautiful, shy server he's noticed before, who always seems to disappear at the end of her shift, was walking home alone at night. He was intrigued by her and decided to follow her to make sure she got home ok, only to find out that she was actually living in her car. His protective instincts kicked in and he invited her to stay with him. She didn't want to interfere with his life, because Lucy had secrets and a past she was trying desperately to hide from, but she allowed him to help her, because well, she needed it.

Both Matt and Lucy find themselves in situations they couldn't control, especially when surprise, surprise he finds out he's a dad! They have to learn to work together, to trust each other and I love that these two strangers, two people who weren't expecting anything to change about their life, found it in the most unexpected way. I also have to talk about those spicy scenes because my oh my were they hot! I really enjoyed Leigh's writing. I felt like there was a lot going on in the story that fell a little flat for me, but overall, I really enjoyed the story! Exposed will be out October 1st so make sure to add it to your TBR! Thanks for giving me the opportunity to read and review!

2024 has been the year for romantic suspense, and it doesn’t stop with book three of Leigh’s Let Me Love You series.
Exposed is Matt’s story—if you’ve read books one and two, you’ll remember him. Just the nicest guy! After reading Devoted earlier this year—and then finding out Matt was getting his own story—I was over the moon. This man deserves his HEA and Leigh made sure he got it.
Enter Pepper. She’s got all of the black cat, grumpy vibes. It’s clear she has a past; her true persona, and her secrets, hidden beneath a tough exterior that she’s fabricated to protect herself.
Exposed tugged at my heartstrings, proceeded to rip my whole heart out, and then put it back 😅🥲 This book is a whirlwind, full of suspense and twists.
Although these books are interconnected standalones, I do recommend reading them in order of release to fully appreciate the dynamic between characters 🫶🏼

Hello Matt!!! Are you looking for a spicy knight in shining armor that will please you, take care of you and love you soooooo much? Well Matt is your guy!! Infinity stars!!! ♾️⭐️

Leigh’s books are absolutely incredible!!! But this book tops them all! It has sooooo much heart, so much spice, you’ll need to be hosed off, and the suspense, twists and turns, I was on the edge of my seat!!!

Matt and Pepper are put through a lot in this book. In their personal lives and together. But boys is it an amazing and wild ride!!! I mean it when I say I was on the edge of my seat waiting what would happen. But have no fear, the suspense and shocking moments are incredible! But the spiciness in this book blew me away. I read and re-read certain scenes because I could not get enough.

Leigh Skarin’s writing is absolutely fantastic! She takes you always on a heartfelt journey in her stories and the happy ending g she delivers always blows me away. She gives you heart, hope for the couple to complete each other snd she writes the most entertaining stories that have you wanting to finish and re-read the story all over again. Thank you Leigh for giving us Matt! He is a real spicy hero! 🤣♾️⭐️

Oh my, my, my, my, my!
This was such a good book that I couldn’t put it down!
I just can’t get enough of Single Dad romance books, then add on top the kink exploration!
Matt is looking to settle down and when he is helping out a woman in need, he finds out that he is a dad.
Pepper is trying to get back on her feet while she is on the run and is trying not to catch feeling with Matt, but his dominant ways are breaking down her walls and starting to feel wanted.
I loved both of these characters! They have such good chemistry and he gets her out of her comfort zone and shows her she can be loved.
I cannot wait for the next book!

Leigh Skarin really has a way of writing stories with such impact. I enjoy her writing everytime.

Exposed is a roommates to lovers, marriage arrangement romance that definitely goes on a wild ride. Right off the bat I knew I was gonna enjoy the two characters. Matt and Pepper are definitely enjoyable. I love his protectiveness while love how independent she is. These two are not lacking any sort of spice. There is definitely heat between them. This book was sweet and emotional and I really enjoyed it.

Im excited to see what is coming next from Leigh Skarin. I definitely recommend this book and her others for others to read.

I really enjoyed Matt! He was so swoony and I loved how pepper opened up and felt comfortable enough to share her true identity.
The spice was spicing, Matt definitely was so HOT and I loved how protective and open and sweet he was.

Pepper was so fun, I loved her nickname and I loved how she trusted Matt!

The constant adding to the suspense plot was a lot for me and made me alittle overwhelmed. I just felt like the MCs weren’t able to show how deep their connection was because something was always happening it was a lot but I really enjoyed everything else and I finished in a day so it definitely kept my attention to.

I enjoyed Matt and Pepper’s story. There was an obvious connection from the beginning as they first met, we just had to get through to Pepper and begin to unravel her secrets. The spice was good, there was emotion, and tons of twists thrown in that will have you wanting to keep reading to find out what happens. However, I felt like there were so many surprises thrown in that I couldn’t concentrate at times. Which may just be a me thing- the story was still very enjoyable! I liked seeing Matt and Pep work together to overcome their past and to overcome the obstacles they faced throughout the story and really think they complimented each other! 😊

4⭐️ 3.5🌶️

Wow. The spice in this book was hot and sweet. The MMC Matt just happens to be a cinnamon roll… and a pleasure dom. Oh and he loves plenty of kinks. Matt offers Pepper a place to stay when he sees she needs help. The thing about Pepper is that her life is a straight up disaster. She is feisty, doesn’t trust anyone and certainly doesn’t want anyone’s help. She’s also happens to be on the run…

In the middle of getting to know Pepper, Matt finds out he has a baby from a one night stand that is literally left at his door.

This book had spice, great banter, a sexy cinnamon roll MMC who just wants to please his woman, danger and found family. I loved how sweet Matt is with his baby and the emotional moments between the MCs.

I loved Matt and Pepper and the storyline that brought them together and made them an unforgettable couple. This couple is fire together! Matt and Pepper's chemistry is combustible. Perfectly balanced intrigue, romance, angst, and suspense that helps you feel the depth of their relationship. Matt and Pepper are well-written characters, which includes their flaws. The help they give one another is refreshing. The twists and turns added even more to this rollercoaster of a read. I enjoyed reading a bit more about past characters in this series. They added to this romantic 5-star read.

Had the pleasure of ARC reading Exposed for Leigh! Matt fell for Pepper almost instantly and although she was resistant at first they grew to love and appreciate each other! I adore that Matt supported her and pushed her enough to be open and she grew to trust him. There was a lot going on with the plot, the suspense and moving parts with both peppers side and Matt’s side, if you love romantic suspense with adorable characters, this book is for you!

I was very intrigued for the romantic suspense in this one. I liked Matt and Pepper together. There was a lot going on that interfered with their relationship, but I felt like they were solids for each other. Piper was resilient and was willing to do what she could every turn to survive. I loved that Matt wanted to take care of her.

Exposed has:
-Romantic suspense
-Single dad
-Instalove
-Drama
-Spice

There were a lot going on with this one. The main plot I felt like was taken over by several smaller plots. It was hard to keep up and at times it was a bit much. I found that the writing style for this one just didn't work for me, but it might for you!

Leigh Skarin does it again coming in strong with a spicy contemporary romance. For her books, I never doubt leaving my dark romance era. Her men.....they're worth it.

I have been anxiously awaiting Matt's book experiencing just a brief glimpse of him in the other books in this standalone series, and let me tell you, he does not disappoint.

Matt has spent years diving into his photography, filling his time with work to keep his mind off of losing the love of his life, Grace. But it would seem that life has bigger plans for him when he meets a woman at a wedding that he just can't seem to keep his eyes off of.

Matt and Pepper are the cutest pair. The banter and ease between them is so comforting. I love the switch up of the MMC being more the sunshine positive character and the FMC being the grumpy (at least in the beginning, who could really be grumpy with a guy like Matt).

Definitely a must read and although it is a standalone series I highly recommending all of these books (Hidden, Devoted, Exposed) because you will for sure fall in love with every single one of these characters.

Leigh Skarin has a lovely way of elevating the fantasy and tingles that make an easy to devour romance! Exposed is a wonderful edition that highlights Skarin’s strengths of focus on the central building of a romantic relationship. Skarin’s writing and tone has a gentle and poetic nature that easily evokes the beauty of falling easily in love. Her writing is built around the couple, who they are, and how the world is affect them as they fall in love. Exposed is a fast paced romance the focuses heavily on the couple and how their trust in each other builds in moments of intimacy, and then once they have built a strong foundation the craziness of the outside world swirls around them as they learn to work together and overcome.

Exposed is Matt and Pepper’s romance. Their story is one of discovery, one of learning how to work and bend with each other, and ultimately trust and support. This novel also has a gentle nature and exploration of what it means to because a father in a quick moment, it is about building a family, and it is about opening up your family to unconditional love. Pepper’s past and her family were never a strong place of support but she believes in love, she believes in creating a safe place and she believes in trusting in the beauty of humanity. The true strength in this novel and its heart lies in Matt and Pepper and how they both discover family in each other and then open their hearts to further potential of expanding their family. There is also a whirlwind layer of suspense that is all outside of the central romance that swiftly piles on top of itself in order to show the reader the strength of Matt and Pepper’s relationship.

Exposed was a quick and easy read, with such an evocative openness around the beauty of falling in love and the heartwarming nature of building a family and network of friends who can support you through the highs and lows of life. Leigh Skarin is a must read for anyone looking for a true escape and loves a solid romance the heavily focused on the romance in the romance suspense genre.

Thank you so much to Leigh Skarin for an eARC, all thoughts and opinions are my own.

𝐄𝐱𝐩𝐨𝐬𝐞𝐝 is the 3rd book in the Let Me Love You series by Leigh Skarin, featuring a spicy single dad, roommates to lovers romantic suspense story for Matt and Pepper. Matt has already grieved the tragic loss of a great love once, so he doesn’t expect it to come around again… Then he met Pepper, a sweet, strong, and mysterious woman in need of a soft place to land. She’s running from someone, and Matt can’t seem to rein in his desire to help her. When his life is upended by a surprise baby on his doorstep, he realizes they could help each other. With danger lurking around every corner, Matt is determined to keep everyone safe and together…

Oh my! Daddy Matt is in the house, and I am here for it!🥵🔥 This pleasure dom has met his match in Pepper, and I loved how he could transition from sweet and swoony to dirty and possessive so quickly!!😍😅 The suspense plot was top notch, and the multiple plot twists kept me on the edge of my seat the entire time! I was totally invested in these amazing characters and their emotional journey! My heart swelled with love for Shani, Matt’s adorable 3-legged golden retriever, who was an awesome companion to baby Simon. And Matt bonding with his son?! I was happily picturing all that skin-to-skin time, giving thanks to this author the entire time! I love a well-written dad, and Matt was sooo determined to do it right! Pepper was perfect for them, too. I loved all the scenes with Matt’s parents, as well as his friends from the first two books! They all rallied around the couple and brought a found family vibe that Pepper so desperately needed! One thing that I loved about this book was that the twists and excitement just kept going! Even the epilogue had my heart in my throat! Wow! I absolutely cannot wait for Aerica’s story!

I received an ARC for free, and am leaving this review voluntarily.

Well, she did it again. Leigh Skarin has pulled me back into the Let Me Love You world with well developed characters and an incredible story line. I'm a huge fan of her first two books in the series, Hidden and Devoted. Exposed drew me in just like the first two books did and made me care deeply about what was going to happen to Matt and Pepper.
Matt is still grieving the loss of his former girlfriend who was killed in a terrible accident. When he meets Pepper, he is immediately drawn to her and ends up inviting her to stay with him. At the same time, a baby, that happens to be Matt's from a one night stand, is left on his doorstep. Matt immediately flies into dad mode and takes the infant in.
Pepper is on the run, but we don't know why. She is leery of staying with Matt, especially once he gets the baby, because she fears for his safety. Matt convinces her to stay and help take care of the baby with him.
The chemistry between Matt and Pepper is a slight slow burn. You can see the attraction to each other, but Matt, being the sweetheart he is, tries to take things slow. The spice in Exposed is certainly spicing, once it starts. The kink exploration was probably one of my favorite parts. Matt may be a gentleman outside of the bedroom, but his Dom side certainly comes out once their clothes come off.
The suspense part of the book was also a slow burn, but when it hit, it hit hard. What you think you know is wrong and it shook me up. Leigh Skarin is so good at drawing you into the suspense in her books and the twists and turns are often unexpected. This book was no different.
I received this book as an ARC and I am so glad I did. It was hard enough waiting to get it early, I would have been super anxious had I had to wait until Oct. 1. You, however, should certainly add it to your TBR, but make sure you have read the first two books first. While this can be read as a standalone, it is so much better reading it within the whole series.

I haven’t read anything by Leigh Skarin before, but if the rest of this series is as good as Exposed, count me as a fan. I really didn’t want to put this book down and found myself flying through it in no time. I loved the characters and I thought that the plot was entertaining. I love an MC with a secret and great googly moogly, Matt is my guy. I felt that I was emotional invested in these characters and found myself consistently rooting for both of them. I wanted all the good for them both, especially knowing their history.

Pepper is so broken, yet she is a survivor. She has adapted her entire life in order to survive. When Matt approaches her, he finds a woman who works constantly, lives in her car, and skips meals to live in this “off the grid” life. It honestly broke my heart when she first met Matt’s parents and she questioned why they were nice to her. She doesn’t trust anything good because that is how she has survived.

Matt is maybe my favorite MMC. While everything looks perfect with his life from the outside, he is broken as well. His grief has ruled his life, even to the point that a risky one night stand has led to him being a single father. He has a wall around his heart to protect himself from getting hurt again and Pepper chips away at that. I cannot applaud the author more for making him a pleasure Dom. It’s something that you just don’t see as often and it’s so good to have an MMC that represents a group that absolutely exists. And his dog, Shani, is absolutely the star of the book.

I really enjoyed this book. It’s got such excellent spicy content, and the characters are so good. I wanted to know so much about them and wanted to keep reading their story. I am so glad I got the opportunity to read this book.

After losing his longtime girlfriend in a tragic accident, Matt has sworn off love. He keeps all the women he meets at arms length, never letting them get too close. That is until he sees Pepper working at the same wedding he’s photographing. Their paths have semi crossed a few times before but every time he goes to talk to her she vanishes.

However when he sees a wedding guest putting his hands on her at the 3rd wedding they’ve worked together he doesn’t hesitate to go to her rescue. After Pepper refuses a ride home, Matt proceeds to follow her to ensure she gets where she’s going safely. That’s when he discovers she’s been living in her car for the last 2 months. He insists on Pepper staying in his guest room for at least one night and after some negotiating she agrees, but she’s still very hesitant and refuses to share any details about herself. How can she when she’s a fugitive on the run living in constant fear that they are going to find her at any moment.

Matt is very drawn to Pepper and is determined to get her to open up when his world gets turned upside down when a newborn from a no-name hook up is left at his door with a note stating the baby is his. As he tries to help Pepper clear her name and figure out life as a new single dad neither of them realize how much trouble they are in. When danger lurks around every corner & the stakes are high Matt is determined to get his family out alive.

This was a great read! I ended up giving it 4 stars because I felt the plot twist felt a little rushed. However I still really enjoyed the book.

If you like the tropes:
Single dad
Friends to lovers
FMC on the run
Kink exploration
Pleasure Dom MMC
Found family
Marriage of convenience

Then you are going to love this one! Exposed is number 3 in a stand alone series however you do not need to read the others to read this one. Theres a little bit of character overlap but I was still able to understand and connect with side characters here without knowing their story.

This was my first read by Skarin and I loved unraveling Matt and Pepper’s story. I knew going in that this was the third in the series, but didn’t get a chance to read the others before jumping in. While this definitely worked as a standalone, I do think I probably would have gotten more out of the story by reading the others first. So if you’re looking to dive into this one, I’d definitely suggest beginning with Hidden.

The book follows Matt, a wedding photographer that’s only just starting to put himself out there after losing his girlfriend a few years earlier. While working a wedding as a photographer, he finds himself drawn to a waitress that is just focused on doing her job. However, Matt finds himself stepping in and stepping up when he finds out that Pepper is cornered by a handsy guest and needs somewhere to crash. Pepper is wary of trusting anyone as she’s trying to keep a low profile while looking over her shoulder for her past to catch up to her.

I enjoyed Matt and Pepper’s book and watching them both become more vulnerable with each other. I did feel like the book was a little fast paced and could have sat in some of the emotion a little bit more to really build up the angst that Matt and Pepper were feeling, but I also liked that Skarin kept things moving throughout. I really enjoyed the plot and found myself wanting to know what was going to happen next in the story. The twists and turns were fun and interesting and the spice was just right. Overall, I felt like this was a great palate cleanser if you want a plot that keeps your interest without being too angsty.

“I notice how special you are, Pep. I see you. And tonight, I want to see what you’re like when you let go.”
⭐⭐⭐ 🌶️🌶️

Matt & Pepper’s story will take you on a wild and suspenseful ride with more twists than you could ever see coming. From the start we meet Matt, a charismatic photographer who is still mourning the death of his girlfriend in a car crash. While at a work event, he meets Pepper - a feisty & sweet younger woman that captures his attention. Matt soon discovers that she’s living in her car and on the run, but she won’t tell him from who. He decides to take her in and care for her, but when Matt finds a baby on his doorstep one day, his entire life shifts once again. He’ll do anything to protect his son and this mystery woman he’s quickly falling for.

The chemistry between Matt & Pepper was evident from the start of the book. One look at her and he was a protective man obsessed. The moments they shared with Matt’s infant son were very sweet & tender between lots of dramatic plot elements. This was my first time reading a book featuring a pleasure dom and the spice didn’t disappoint, with great steamy scenes and some kink exploration.

Unfortunately, I did find that there were too many dramatic elements in their story and it distracted from the romance between Matt & Pepper. While I enjoyed their characters, there were not many reprieves between the wildly intense plot situations they found themselves in and as a result, their love story didn't connect with me as much as I would have liked.

Thank you to Leigh for the ARC in exchange for an honest review!

Well, she's done it again. Leigh has brought us another heartfelt romance that has a storyline that will have you wondering with thrill, falling for a super protective hero, inspired by her tenacity and breathless from all the steamy scenes that is not for the faint of heart. Wow!

Matt is this unassuming man who has a tendency of protecting people. He's kind hearted, selfless, generous and protective to a fault. He will do anything to protect the people he cares about and Pepper quickly became the object of his affection and his "caveman" ways. (Which is one of my favorite characteristics from a book boyfriend).

Pepper's life hasn't been easy and she's had to become self-sufficient from an early age. She's resourceful, resilient and independent. She's not used to being cared for and is very wary of people. Accepting help is not something that she's used to.

Matt and Pepper's meeting was pure happenstance. His attraction to her was immediate and instant. His need to care for her was heartwarming and I quickly fell in love with his character. Her resilience and steadfastness was inspiring. These two made the perfect couple.

The story has it's mysteries that will have you guessing throughout the book. There's a found family dynamic which I absolutely love. It's sweet with romantic gestures and quite steamy with it's sexy scenes.

It's a full package story which I devoured in a day.
