Bunraku Noir: The Hardboiled Samurai & His Digital Doll

Rate this book
Royham Malone is a Samurai...

Sure, he may not be from the right time or place. But by his code and by his blade, there can be no doubt of his identity. A modern-day Miyamoto Musashi, wielding the sword SakuraMegami. When his lady, the princess Osamu Rako-Ohime is cut down before his very eyes, it is left to him to take on the role of the hardboiled detective to avenge her.

Just leave it to Iri...

The competent and intelligent cinephile. No task is too difficult nor question too complex for Irene Bluth to crack. The Philo Vance to Royham's Sam Spade.

The Great Detective (probably...)

It takes a liar to see through a liar. Having seen the havoc lies wreak first hand, the living puppet descends to banish all falsehoods from the world. Before his keen eye and even sharper mind, no enigma will be left unresolved. The Sherlock Holmes of this story.

Step into a murder mystery for the modern, online age. The debut work from the Ellery Queen of the Vtuber Era*. K.O. Enigma's best novel to date. Also his only novel to date. Promising a story that will shock, horrify, tantalise, and maybe even... well. Books these days have many talents.

Will the reader solve this inexplicable plot before any of our master detectives?

Probably. Most likely.

But will you have fun?

Sure. Yeah. Absolutely.

No, really. Go for it. What do you have to lose? Let's be real, you weren't going to do all those things you said you were going to do today. Might as well waste some time reading the mystery novel that everyone who's read it is talking about!

I really don't know how to put much of my thoughts into words about this novel other than this is a extremely unique novel that is very much a act of passion by the author, alongside a extremely deep understanding of what makes this type of book tick, craftmanship beyond what I expected from a free digital novel. I was amazed multiple times, the ending left me speechless and above all, it's damn funny, a absolute joy to read with a lot of moments I can vividly remember. I'm just amazed at how well this all comes together; I really cannot express it without just reading it yourself and understanding what I mean.

I hope to see more work from this author in future, this is talent that is insane for a first publish.
