I really liked the first books in this series but the ridiculous factor is really going up here. I want to continue the series to find out if they can find Clif’s journals and communicate with Ri better but this one……
This series started out really well, but I feel it's declining fast with the ghost interactions. Some of the leaps with RI & Clif just don't help the storyline, in my opinion.
This kindle e-book novel is from my Kindle Unlimited account book four of five
Lily, Cassie and Bie are on their way to Bar Harbor, Maine for a vacation. They become involved in the middle of a pirate treasure hunt and murder. It all comes to a happy ending 😀.
I would recommend this series and author to 👍 readers of romantic family and friends relationships ghost 👻 adventure mystery novels 👍🔰. 2025 👒🐈
3.5 stars. Again, very annoying main ghost character and the introduction of a second ghost and the amateur hypnotism was just too much of a stretch for me.
📚 Book Review 📚 Maine, Moose, and a Killer on the Loose By Nellie H. Steele ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Maine, Moose, and a Killer on the Loose is Book Four in the Lily and Cassie by the Sea cozy mystery series written by Nellie H. Steele. When a planned vacation to Savannah is temporarily put on hold due to an impending hurricane, the mother/daughter team (Lily/Cassie), amateur sleuths, decide on taking a vacation to Bar Harbor, Maine is just the escape they need to get away. Of course, their resident ghost in a doll, Ri. must accompany the duo on their vacation, afraid of what she might get into if left home alone in Hideaway Bay. The vacation is a much-needed distraction for Cassie, who, after her husband's death, has learned that he may have been leading a secret, second life. This is compounded by the fact that both her husband and father were mysteriously killed while traveling together in a plane crash. Cassie stumbles across a flash drive and enlists the help of an expert, Nate, to help access the information on the drive. Soon after arriving at Bar Harbor, Cassie and Lily learn that a local museum has been broken into and several artifacts, dating back to the time of pirates, have been stolen. Soon after, the museum's curator is murdered. This starts the beginning of the intense and dangerous investigation by Lily and Cassie, to determine why the pieces were stolen and who the murderer was. This story was engrossing in all aspects. The storyline was well-developed and extremely captivating, creating an exciting and emotional experience. The inter-character relationships were fun, mysterious, and complicated. We saw a clever cross-over with another Nellie H. Steele series that made this book all that more absorbing and entertaining. With each turn of the page, I found a new adventure was brought to light, always some unpredictable incident to keep the reader fully engaged. The pace of this story was steady and the action kept coming to the very end. I found this book a fantastic and highly delightful read and would highly recommend it. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Readers Copy.
Maine, Moose & a Killer on the Loose is book #4 in the Lily & Cassie By the Sea Mysteries series by Nellie H. Steele.
Lily, Cassie, and Ri are on vacation when they hear about local thefts and begin investigating. Then there is a murder and they become much more involved. This was a wild ride. There are new characters that handle things much better than I would have. A ghost inhabiting a doll would have sent me running. There are shocking twists. I highly recommend this book and the whole series.
I received an Advanced Reader Copy (ARC) of this book and I am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
Nellie has a wonderful knack of combining whimsy with mystery. She has created these wonderful characters of Lily and Cassie who navigate ghosts and mystery in a way that is both warm and intriguing. Her sense of humor is prevalent throughout the story and has you both laughing and feeling warm at the same time. She is quite masterful at weaving the adventures of Lily and Cassie with the mystery premise of the book. She has built a wonderful community of friends and colleagues, who you soon feel are your friends. In this book, her imagination and story telling kick into high gear.
Lily and Cassie and Ri's ghost go on vacation to Bar Harbor Maine but then they find a dead body in the museum and they end up solving another mystery and with Nate's help only to find out Nate has a ghost inside his body. Then Ri and Cassie switch bodies after being hypnotized. They also go on a treasure hunt to try and find Redbeards treasure. This is the 4th book in the series and is the best so far.
Another solid cozy mystery, but the editing errors abound. Missing words, missing letters, words where they shouldn’t be… The characters are interesting and I will read the next book when it comes out, but in this one the characters find the trouble which took some of the fun out of it. Ri is a bit of a witch in this one as well. Hopefully the next book has less errors, no plot holes and is still an enjoyable cozy read.
This series started out really well, and I thoroughly enjoyed all the previous books. But this one… it just isn't up to the mark. My biggest issue is how casually everyone seems to accept ghosts and supernatural elements—there's barely any realistic reaction from the characters. Everything feels too smooth and convenient, which takes away from the tension and mystery. I really hope the next book becomes more engaging and returns to the intriguing storytelling of the earlier installments.
When I thought Lily Cassie and To were out of town without Wyatt I really thought the book would be boring. But when he arrived to get them out of trouble the old times started again. This is the best storytelling there is. Everyone should read this series. My only problem is how am so going to wait for the next book to be published and on the market?
I can't finish this series! Just when I think it can't get even more stupid, it does. Needing reading glasses and the love of hot chocolate references was beginning to make my eyes roll back in my head. Too stupid to read!
Another great adventure in the "Lily & Cassie by the Sea Cozy Mysteries" (book 4) Join Lily & Cassie as they travel to Maine on vacation and end up solving another great mystery!! Another page-turner that keeps you guessing!!
These mysteries are full of fun. I'm loving the characters and now Ri has Clif back. If you've read the pirating books with Clif and Ri, then you know you're in for some fun reading.
A murder in a museum, after some pirate items were stolen. The group needs to find symbols on the pieces to find another treasure. Lots of suspense, and following the mystery is fun.
Cassie, Lily and Wyatt are at it again with the help of their pirate ghost in disguise. They are searching for clues to Redbeard’s treasure. All kinds of things happen on the way to finding it all.
On vacation and finding a dead person and looking for artifacts,Cassie and crew are investigating. Keeping a ghost in a doll helps to find treasure. Now to find the ghosts brother.
The premise is cute, but this needed a proof reader. Quite a few typos. It is also getting a bit silly and a tad confusing. Introducing too many characters and sub plots.
Really good story line, but stating that a ghost eats and drinks is too far fetched. Ghosts could be part of story as is, but skip the eating n drinking.
DNF this one. The series started off good, but the ghost in the doll that moves around and talks is getting ridiculous. They take it on a vacation? Really? I think Im done with this series.
