Oh this was such a fun spicy Halloween read! I love the how this Mmc literally thought of anything and planned everything down to the littlest detail. Loved the intensity and yearning. Perfect for a Halloween read and had all the vibes I love. Yes, Mask Daddy! 🫶 5/5 ⭐️ 5/5 🌶️

Short, sweet and spicy!!
I feel like anyone who enjoys dark romance would like this book. It’s literally a dream come true especially for the FMC who is disappointed in the lack of physical affection she receives from her gentlemanly boyfriend. She reads her favorite romance books imagining her darkest fantasies only for them to become reality when a masked man stalks her and makes her deepest desires come true.
I feel like anyone who enjoys dark romance would like this book. It’s literally a dream come true especially for the FMC who is disappointed in the lack of physical affection she receives from her gentlemanly boyfriend. She reads her favorite romance books imagining her darkest fantasies only for them to become reality when a masked man stalks her and makes her deepest desires come true.

The thought "Go read it! Go read it!" haunted me from the moment I read the blurb of this book. When I did start, I soon knew that I had a little masterpiece in my hands (masterpiece, get it? lol) I’m a big fan of stalker romances in general, but this one stood out with its unique twist at the end. A twist I honestly did not see coming, which is a good thing, and it added so much to the plot! I was like “WHAT”, and I liked that. And not just that, I liked every second of reading this book. It's short but so much fun! And very well written! I could practically feel the tension, with every word pulling me deeper into the shadows of the characters their minds, and in particular the stalker's fascination with the heroine. It's dark, fun, and beautifully atmospheric. These are all things I love to read in a good romance.
One thing I especially appreciated was how the author managed to maintain the perfect balance between the unsettling thrill of the stalker element and the somewhat lighter moments of the story. I mean, I also like it when a book is dark all the time, but if you do it correctly the light parts of a book can make the dark parts stronger and that is awesome. I had such a great time.
Overall, this is a must-read for anyone who enjoys dark romance with unexpected twists and good writing. I got this book for free to review, but I’m 100% leaving this review voluntarily because it’s AWESOME.

Oh man!! This has great build up. The push and pull had me needing to fan the downstairs!! Whoowhee girlfriends, if you want a naughty, stalker, mask daddy read, this is it!!! Check your triggers if you have them but dang! Des knows how to get your motor running!! I think we all have our own mask daddy kink we simply haven’t unlocked…guess what, kink officially unlocked bitches!! Oh yeah!! So hit good with me. Recommend!

Did I have a guess which direction this book was going in? Yes. Did that stop me from loving every second of it? No. This book can be neatly summed up with “if he wanted to he would.” Now I’m over here asking (demanding) if my husband would do half the things Mask Daddy does for Amanda and he thinks these requests (needs) are out of left field.

Hot, Angsty Quick Read
This read is dark and angsty but then has the best surprise ever. It kept me on my toes for the entire read and the author does a great job connecting the reader with both Mask and Amanda. Throughout the story I kept trying to guess when it was going to end up, but then another twist would happen and I would second guess myself and think it was going a totally different direction. Although it’s set around Halloween, it can be read at anytime.

Haha I should have seen where this was going— and I did suspect it a few times— but, ultimately I shook off my suspicions and ended up fooled.
This was still an enjoyable adventure. I would never in a million years find stalking, home invasion, dubcon, knife play or any of the rest of it attractive in real life, but in a story it’s pretty damn fun.

Well well well I certainly didn’t have stalking and coercion on my bingo card but this dark little tale was perfect for spooky season. It’s scary, it’s sexy, it’s a lot over the top, and I really enjoyed it. I won’t spoil anything, just read it if dark kink with a twist is your jam.

This was such a fun read. The chasing and the fun Halloween vibes were present and vibing.
Getting to have her get her mask daddy dreams come true was a fun thing to watch. We all have a little desire for a mask daddy moment and getting to see this one play out was entertaining and fun.
The twists and turns made this a little on the psychological thriller side but with lower stakes.

Underneath the mask is a short fast paced spicy AF read!!! And let me tell you, it is 🔥🔥🔥 If you are looking for a book that is heavy with plot look somewhere else. This book is perfect for getting over a book hangover, or for a palette cleanser between complex reads.

Tenía razón desde el principio, pero la autora crea confusión en algunos capítulos más adelante, haciéndote malpensar del novio de Amanda.
Conforme llegas al final todo va encajando para darte cuenta de quién es y el “giro argumental” no es un factor sorpresa.
Se lee bastante rápido de una sentada, no es nada pesado, pero sí he sentido que sobran escenas y personajes.

Didn’t really care for the story. The whole storyline just looked like one huge run on sentence. By page 24, I already knew how it was going to play out. And I was right. And “Mask daddy” wasn’t even a swoon worthy turn on. Even my daughter read some of it. Then she was laughing and saying how cringe it sounded. I definitely think the story could’ve been better. But that’s only my opinion. Amanda seems like the type of girl who would jump in a kidnapper’s van cause it said “free books” on the side. Or run upstairs when her life is in danger. The boyfriend, eh, I don’t really have anything positive to say about him either.

One night she was walking home and she did see someone this time and he was hurting another man because this guy tried to follow her as well. He was warned and didn’t listen. Des sweet is an amazing author. This is a quick read about masked men. I loved it.

Can I just say that this was incredibly disappointing? The writing felt more like a book report with the descriptions and even the spicy scenes didn't feel spicy. It was just words on a page. It was also pretty obvious from the very beginning the true identity of Mask, I think we all saw it coming. Unfortunately, I just didn't vibe with the plot, characters or the writing - it was too verbose and flat.

Wow, I was not expecting this, but I'm so glad I gave this book a try! Very spicy and hot! I was trying to figure out who her stalker was but it wasn't until towards the end I got it.

This was a great quick, filthy, angsty read. It was hot and heavy from the start and I loved the twists and turns. The chemistry between Amanda & Mask was off the charts and I loved the ending. After all who doesn’t wish they had a filthy mouthed mask daddy to call their own!

This was my first Des Sweet book. She had me reading this book in one sitting, I couldn’t stop!!
Amanda is a nurse who loves her job, her boyfriend and her routines. Her only complaint about her boyfriend is that he is vanilla, so (like most of us) she lives vicariously through her books, specially those about masked stalkers… Mask Daddy is obsessed with her. He follows her everywhere, takes care of her from a distance and terrorizes her to the point of making her question her sanity.
Overall, it was a quick, fun, spicy read.

When an author can write a stalker romance and have the perfect balance between the thriller aspect that was unsettling but also had sweet moments too! The tension that ran throughout this book was unreal! I couldn't help but feel every bit of it rolling off my kindle. There were a couple times where I needed to take a snack and drink break (wink wink.)
This book is dark, beautifully atmospheric and so much fun! I love when I have a good twist thrown into the book when I was least expecting it! I will never not respect authors who are able to fully pull this off!!

I absolutely adored this Halloween gem just in time for spooky season. I love a good short read that spicy and to the point. I thought I might have known what was happening, then I didn’t, only to be met with an ending I couldn’t love any more. With it being a shorter it story it left me slightly annoyed with Amanda a couple of times, very helpless. I had to remind myself that this was a short story and it happens. I did enjoy the push/pull she dealt with our masked stalker. The name Mask Daddy made me snicker, not my favorite but works well here. I did really like the name our stalker used for her, Masterpiece. It was very endearing. The spice level was nice for the length of the story and it had a decent level of suspense. The ending I can’t fully say I seen it coming but am thoroughly satisfied with it. I was pleased with the relation dynamic between Amanda and her boyfriend. By the end, it had me clutching my tablet in complete ‘awe’. My inner romantic was sitting there all giddy, kicking her feet.

mask daddy u really are a master manipulator!! how thoughtful of u to read her books & take a whole month to meticulously plan out a grand surprise for ur masterpiece amanda on her fave holiday!! poor girl tho thought she was losing her mind😆 i especially enjoyed mask daddy's POV, an anniv bonus scene. & even if u kinda connected the dots pretty early on, i urge u to still go along with it coz its still a pretty hot & fun read!! this is 💯every spooky szn girlie's dream🙌🏽

I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
I finished this book very quickly. It was a great short read and definitely a great way to get into the spooky Halloween season. I also liked that there wasn’t something extra going on in the background to make the story longer and more convoluted. It stayed on topic and I didn’t find myself glossing over words (not overly descriptive but enough to know details)
4/5 instead of 5 stars only because the “twist” didn’t really make much sense to me given what we were given in the story especially from “the Mask’s” point of view. I felt like the twist could have been explained more or drawn out more so we have more crumbs throughout the story, though I kind of guessed it at about 2/3 through.
All in all I would recommend as long as you’re okay with the triggers! Please check trigger warnings always. I read darker books so this didn’t bother me

A great fast Spicy Halloween Treat;) Call me Mask Daddy, please.
You had me at a masked stalker.. I am totally down with that. Had me at the hook. This is a fast paced spicy Halloween tale. That gives "she is is mine and I shall her whether she likes it or not" Vibes. It had a good flow for the length of pages in the story. And the right amount of spice (wish it was longer scenes) that made you think this masked man knew her and what she wanted even if she seemingly had no clue. Told in two points of view with a Great twist ending.
We have a MMC "Mask Daddy" who is quietly stalking the FMC, his "Masterpiece", watching her every move, for several weeks. He appears to be protecting her but at the same time stalking her. Cos one day he will make his fantasies a reality, whether she likes it or not.. She has a loving boyfriend, but he doesn't touch her anymore like "that". So when a masked stalker corners her and 'takes what he wants' from her, she is ashamed that she wanted it. And she would probably do it again given the chance. She is physically attracted to this man but feels guilty that she didn't fight more against him. And when she thinks she is going crazy and that it was all in her head, he continues to stalk her, terrify her and promise that he will do it again. This MMC is ott obsessed with her, willing to remove whatever obstacle in his way and that might include her boyfriend?
This was a fun spooky time read to add to your Halloween collection.
