These aptly named little 'prescriptions' of books provide comfort for any and all times you may come on. From "Becoming", to "First Aid", to "Wild Remedy" and many more, are deliberately intentional collections. Helpfully organized into themed anthologies, Alma's little books make perfect gifts for most occasions. I gifted my friend "Comfort" after her first breakup. and my sister "Becoming" when she went to university. Beautiful and effective and gentle remedies for people who always seem to be asking questions they can't quite answer.
To be honest plenty of the poems from here gave me an absolutely perfect feeling of childhood nostalgia and softness. Also bonus points because I read this when I was feeling down and sick, so I'm honest when I say that the "comforting poems" selections was done well. 4.5 overall, some poems I liked less than others but that's quite expected because it's a wide selection and of course not every poet is going to be my cup of tea.
I was gifted this is a lovely collection of poems on the first day of April in honor of National Poetry Month. It came as part of a package from the Poetry Pharmacy, a shop based out of London. They have these fabulous little gift boxes centered around different themes in poetry. The poems in this small volume revolve around the theme of comfort and they are all meaningful. I will forever be grateful to have found the poem "Giraffe" by Bryony Littlefair within its pages. What a treasure that poem is! This is a tender book of poetry and the box is an extremely thoughtful gift to give a poetry lover!
