Back To Our Beginning

She’s my past, my present, and my only future.

Grady “Beau” Beaumont
As a Marine Raider, I’ve faced enemies in every corner of the world. I’ve walked through fire, faced down death, and left pieces of myself behind on every battlefield. But the one place I never wanted to return to was Jasper Creek, Tennessee. Too many memories. Too much pain. Too much loss. Yet, when I hear that trouble has found its way back to the town I once called home, I can’t stay away. Not when the people I care about might be in danger. Not when it means seeing Maddie Avery again—the girl who was my best friend, my anchor, the only person who ever made me feel like I belonged.

Maddie Avery
Beau Beaumont was my partner in everything that mattered—my partner in crime, my confidant, my forever friend. But when he left Jasper Creek fourteen years ago, I lost more than my best friend. I lost the person who understood me better than anyone else. Life moved on, and I’ve built a good one here with my family. But deep down, there’s always been a part of me that wished for more. Wished for him. Now Beau’s back, and with him comes a rush of endless possibilities—a love that feels woven into my soul, untouched by time, and stronger than I ever dared to believe.

ahh Jasper Creek, a place that seems to attract danger, but fear not, Jasper Creek has produced a fair amount of hero's who can step in to save the day.
I do like this slower paced series that Ms O'Leary has written, and after meeting Beau in 'Dreaming of Home' from the multi author series 'The long road home '#20 I was hoping he'd get this own book.
and I wasn't disappointed 😍.

Beau is back in Jasper Creek, catching up with his brother, but he is also trying to mend the fence with his best friend and the girl he ghosted almost 15 years ago.

Maddie Avery ( I knew it would be a good book as soon as I knew he was involved with the Avery girls) is a social worker, driven by her own experiences, she's dedicated and thorough.

I'm not going to lay out the story, just to say there's some action involved, it was a bit of a tense one too, emotional moments and some spicy bits too.
a perfect combination for a rainy day read.

I've thoroughly enjoyed being back in Jasper Creek, and can't wait to be back for Ruby and Chloe's books.

recommended reading, check out the others in the series too.

Once again Caitlyn has given us a story that draws you in and keeps you engaged even if the characters enrage you at time We have met both of the main characters before Beau is Kai missing twin from Dreaming of Home and Maddie is one of the Avery sisters who we have met in many books. Beau broke Maddie's heart 15 years earlier when he walked away from her to join the marines Now as a Marine Raider he has come to visit his twin and hopes to reconnect with Maddie But did he do too much damage when he walked away even though it was what he needed to do Throw in the fact that Maddie's job with child protective services places her in danger and we get a fast paced read that totally draws you in. Make sure you read Kai's story so you can learn the history of the twins in fact read anything about the Avery's and Onyx security you won't be disappointed

We are back in Jasper Creek, Tennessee, once again, and I couldn't be happier. This story revolves around Maddie and Grady "Beau" Beaumont. They have been friends from kindergarten all the way through high school. After graduation, Beau left to join the Marines. Maddie understood why he left. What she doesn't understand is why he only wrote her one letter and nothing else. After 15 years of radio silence, Beau is back in Jasper Creek. If he thinks they are just going to pick up where they left off, he has another thing coming. Beau knows he messed up royally by not contacting Maddie all these years. He is ready and willing to do whatever it takes to make it up to her. Will it be enough? Get this book ASAP and find out? Sorry, no spoilers. I received this ARC and here is my honest review

It’s “back” to Jasper Creek; “back” to the Avery family; “back” to the exceptionally Beaumont brothers from that scarily dysfunctional family! We met Beau in “Dreaming of Home,” albeit way too briefly, and here is his story and his relationship with Maddie Avery.
Honestly, the book can be read as a standalone, but I don’t recommend that. I think you will miss a lot of what makes the book special if you don’t have some background into both Beau and Maddie’s stories.
This is a book that you feel better for reading; it’s like a friend you hadn’t realized you had missed. We need more!

Beau and Maddie’s story is a wonderful read. These two have know each other since kindergarten and been besties. As life steps in and changes their relationship feeling are hurt and hearts broken. This book is all about second chances and realizing mistakes you’ve made and how to rectify them. It’s a truly beautiful read how these two rebuild a broken relationship into something worth keeping. So enjoying this series can’t wait for the next instalment.

Beau and Maddie

Oh my gosh for a small town romance this is still action packed and I loved it.
A well written journey where I could feel how Beau felt chained to everything Jasper Creek at age eighteen. Feel his confliction or confusion concerning Maddie's and his lifelong friendship turning into more, but more what?? And feel Maddie's hurt at being left behind cold, not understanding any of it. Reaching out to Beau and to receive nothing. Then her total righteousness to be madder than a hornet finding out Beau could have had the balls along with many opportunities to let her know he was at least alive and kicking. Nothing like a blown up Avery temper, then deflating at Beau's first big liplock on her. She was so mixed up between her heart and mind. She knew she loved Beau, could she take a chance on being in love with him? Oops too late. Beau is her North Star just as she is his.
When Maddie's job becomes complicated, and lives are at stake, her and Beau clash on solutions.
When one of the Protectors of Jasper Creek's operations mistakenly pulls Maddie into the middle of a case involving a one percent MC, it's up to Beau to keep his cool and get Maddie back. This was some intense, hold my breathing reading-so good.
When Beau and Maddie were together I never knew what was going to come outta their mouths, but I sure could laugh at these two who knew each other so well. As they heated up, it was the best romance and some of the funniest sexy times I've read. Yup, they indeed knew each other very well, even if they hadn't seen each other for years. Their lively journey had all my emotions pinging away.
The town, the families, the friends are all looking out for their own. Thank goodness.
A happy ending for these two, and a few more. Fur babies are always bonus for me, and Sparks' story about broke my heart, but even he's getting a new beginning.
Now I can hardly wait to read Ruby's Journey coming soon I hear. And Chloe needs her life turned around too. A lot more to come in this little town of Jasper Creek where the Avery kids all grew up.

Back to Our Beginning is the fourth book in Caitlyn O’Leary’s Protectors of Jasper Creek series. The story is about Beau and Maddie. This is a story about two friends from high school reconnecting and redefining their relationship. Beau joined the Marines shortly after the death of his mother, but is back in town because his long lost twin brother has returned (his story is in Dreaming of Home). Maggie is one of the many Avery girls and due to their horrible childhood, she is a dedicated social worker.
The books in this series are a little slower in pace than her SEAL team books, but still have plenty of action and suspense. Much of the story is about Beau and Maddie rebuilding their relationship and moving it from best friends to far more. Maggie is worried that Beau will leave again and she will be broken-hearted. She decides to take a chance on him, but there is some interference from her family - particularly her big brother Drake. There is danger from Maggie’s job and danger from an unexpected source that the couple will have to overcome, but with the help of Onyx Security and the characters from the earlier books they have the resources they need.
There are many characters from previous books in this series and others with connections to Jasper Creek. I still maintain that I want to move to Jasper Creek - I love all the characters. I am looking forward to the next book in this series.
I am a huge fan of this author and I think this might be my favorite series by her. I strongly recommend this book or really anything by this author. I got this book as an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Another wonderful outing with Ms. O’Leary in Jasper Creek focusing on another of the Avery sisters. We first heard about these wonderful girls way back when we met their brother Drake (who thankfully does make an appearance and he’s always so fun to see in full on big brother mode). This book follows Beau and Maddie. Beau has had a really tough life that is now starting to look up after finding his long lost twin. In Kai’s book we didn’t get to see a lot of the brothers’ bond, but in this book their relationship has pick up right where it left off. As someone with a close relationship to her sister, I appreciate the strong bonds we see between Beau and Kai and Maddie and all of her sisters, especially Chloe (whose story is coming up soon). Maddie is a super amazing local hero of a social worker and Beau is a recovering idiot of a man who is still active duty in the Marines. So, no wounded hero in this one. Maddie is an amazingly strong heroine, and most of the action focuses on trouble following her. The emotional problems come from Beau and that gets resolved fairly quickly, although he does need several lectures about being a military alpha. Another great outing, with likeable characters, and we get to check in with quite a few old friends. Maddie is a social worker, and we see her in her job so there are a few tough scenes, but the drama overall is mid-range I’d say. It’s honestly hard to go wrong with a Jasper Creek book! I received an ARC and voluntarily left this review.

We are back in the wonderful Jasper Creek and a story involving a member of the Avery family will always win for me (especially when Drake puts in an appearance). Marine Raider Grady 'Beau' Beaumont left Jasper Creek behind 14 years ago, he also left behind best friend and soulmate Maddie Avery but now he is back reconnecting with his twin brother. Maddie knew Beau needed to get away all those years ago but his lack of contact subsequently and then when he makes no attempt to contact her now he's back in town hurt her deeply. When they do re-connect Maddie is determined to keep him at arms length but Beau is equally determined to not let her go this time. When danger keeps threatening Maddie, it brings every protective Alpha bone in Beau's body to the surface as he desperately tries to keep her safe and fight for the future he wants. It is a second chance for both of them but can they overcome the past and find their way back to their beginning and this time have the HEA they both want?
It's an engaging story, I adored Maddie but Beau drove me mad at times so he isn't a favourite but he definitely adores Maddie. The story has plenty of heartbreaking circumstances from Maddie's job as a social worker, an excellent twist when danger comes from an unexpected source and a fabulous cast of character some old, some new.
I received an arc from the author an am voluntarily leaving my honest review.

𝐁𝐚𝐜𝐤 𝐭𝐨 𝐎𝐮𝐫 𝐁𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 is the 4th book in the Protectors of Jasper Creek series by Caitlyn O’Leary, featuring an exciting second chance, romantic suspense story that had me on the edge of my seat! Grady “Beau” Beaumont definitely had a mountain to climb, when he returned home after 14 years, if he thought it would be easy to get back in the good graces of his former best friend, Maddie. Unrequited love and feelings of abandonment are hard to overcome, but never underestimate the determination of a military man on a mission!! One of my favorite things about this author is that her FMCs are just as fierce and well-developed as her men! Despite having her heart broken, Maddie grew into this amazing woman who is on a selfless crusade to help kids, while Beau found his purpose in the Marines. Now that he’s ready to try with her, danger is afoot. The suspense aspect brings plenty of action and the opportunity for old friends to work together in that amazing band of brothers vibe to take care of business. The Avery family and the town are always good for some fun banter, and the progression of Beau and Maddie’s relationship was romance gold! They had the friends to lovers, soulmate connection, and the heat that comes with an alpha bada$$! Every visit to this world makes me love it more, and I can’t wait to go back!

I received an ARC for free, and am leaving this review voluntarily.

Another outing with the tight-knit and hilarious Avery family. This time around Maddie is finally ging to get some answers about why her lifelong bestie left her high and dry when he joined the Marines and then rubbed salt in the wound when he ignored her when he came back to town!

Grady (aka Beau) may be a Marine Raider by the Avery women are enough to make him quake in his combat books! Drake is a pussycat compared to these women! He's back in town to meet with his recently discovered twin brother and he'll quietly admit that he's been dodging Maddie. But Maddie is not a woman you dodge, she'll plough through every obstacle to suitably harangue him!

It's about time these two get their ducks in a row and their emotions in line. No more pussyfooting around - they need to declare those feelings but when you grow up being the target of abuse or as the caregiver for a sick mum, you learn to pack down those feelings. But Maddie had some dangerous meetings when protecting her social work charges and Beau goes full protector.

OMW Maddie lands in a bit of a pickle and I feared they'd never get their HEA. I wanted to rage at the horrors her little charges face and I'd have done more than threaten their aggressor with a frying pan - I'd have gone full Bobett on his hairy ass! Beau didn't exactly cover himself in glory to start with in this story but he does redeem himself.

PS The one and only Drake Avery makes an appearance and causes hilarity/pulling of hair!

Beau & Maddie

I found this story intense in a couple different ways. First, Beau & Maddie; Beau did not contact Maddie, his best friend since they were in Kindergarten, for 15 years after he went into the military. This would have upset me just as much as it did Maddie. There has to be some reason for this. I handled Maddie’s reaction to seeing Beau at Maverick’s Bar and Grill for the first time since he came back to Jasper Creek with glee as she was a proud and stoic woman.

Second, Maddie’s occupation as a social worker makes any domestic situation, especially involving kids, emotional and intense. One would have to be mentally and emotionally strong as well as working well under very stressful situations. Maddie is a pro and takes her job very seriously.

I love how Beau solved the situation with Sparks. He has a good heart and knows how important Sparks is to Eli and will do whatever it takes to help this little boy.

I feel that the Avery women are a very special family. They pull together for each other at any ripple that comes their way, serious or not. When one is in trouble, or just having a bad day, they are all present to give support and any help that is needed. Beau finding his twin after a lifetime of being without him makes my heart thump. It’s a beautiful thing to have them together again.

Love this story and Beau has great taste in jewelry!

Beau and Maddie were best friends growing up but after his mom died he left breaking Maddie's heart. Now 15 years later Beau has returned home to Jasper Creek to reunite with his long lost twin. Maddie in the meantime has become a social worker and confronts Beau wanting closure or does she? Together they need to find out if they can overcome their fears and find their way to a future together. Along the way there is a little danger and suspense but they have lots of help along the way.
Jasper Creek is a wonderful community loaded with lovable and unforgettable characters most notably Maddie's family otherwise known as the Avery sisters and their older brother Drako who just happens to be a Navy Seal.
Each book in this series is a stand alone but are OH SO MUCH BETTER when read together. I couldn't put it down, every time I did I would pick it back up within ten minutes. This series is one of my favorites, I only wish Jasper Creek was a real place to live.

What an amazing book from start to finish! Beau and Maddie were best friends but when he left to become a Marine Raider he ghosted her, now he's back home 15 years later and she's not sure how to feel about it.
Maddie is a social worker and has a heart of gold and Beau is constantly laying down his life for other people. Once they reconnect they can't turn their backs on each other again, their destiny is finally coming true.
Maddie is also dealing with a case where a young boy is in danger from his mothers boyfriend, which puts her in danger as well, but Beau is there to protect her.
As soon as they get together its almost like they were always a couple. They are perfect for each other, and while there are differences and obstacles they have to over come, this time they will do it together; with the support of their friends and family.
It's a must read book that continues the amazing story of Jasper Creek and its citizens; you won't want to put it down.

Maddie lost her best friend when they graduated high school and she doesn't know why . When Beau's twin returns to Jasper Creek he finds a part of himself he didn't know was missing. But can he find the courage to face Maddie and the future he always wanted?
Back to Our Beginning is the latest in Caitlyn O'Leary's Protectors of Jasper Creek. I enjoyed getting to know Beau better. His twin has found him and Maddie is determined to find out why. Can Beau convince her that he is finally ready to accept who she is to him? I enjoyed seeing Maddie take no crap and force Beau to face himself and her. I love that she fights herself and him for a future together. I love seeing Beau re-intergrate with not only his twin but his friends. Ms. O'Leary gave us a well written enjoyable read and I thoroughly enjoyed returning to this world she has created. I cannot wait to see where she will take us next.

This book reminded me exactly why I love Caitlyn O'Leary's writing. It was wonderful to return to Jasper Creek and catch up with familiar faces. I always enjoy reading about the Avery family, and this time it was Maddie’s turn - a strong, independent, and determined heroine.

Beau returns to town hoping to reconnect with his brother, but he also finds himself face-to-face with his childhood sweetheart, Maddie. Regretful for having left her behind to pursue a military career, Beau is determined to win her back. Of course, the Avery sisters are a force to be reckoned with, and the path to true love is never smooth. There are plenty of twists and emotional turns before this couple earns their happily ever after.

As always, Caitlyn O'Leary delivers the perfect blend of suspense, action, and steamy romance. I highly recommend this book and eagerly await the next installment!

Welcome back to Jasper Creek!
Maddie Avery is on a mission to give Beau Beaumont a piece of her mind. It's been fourteen years since he left her devastated and broken so when she hears he is back in Jasper Creek she confronts the man that was her best friend, her ride or die, her everything!
When Beau's mother passed away he left Jasper Creek with no intention of coming back but his twin brother who he thought was dead is alive and living in Jasper Creek (Dreaming of Home is his story). When seeing Maddie Avery again after so long he can't ignore what's in his heart, Maddie is his and he can't leave until she knows how he feels.
Now Jasper Creek wouldn't be complete without a little bit of danger mixed in with all the shenanigans of the locals and a visit from Drake Avery, Navy SEAL and big brother to Maddie.
Can't wait for Ruby and Chloe's stories and return to Jasper Creek.

OMG, what an emotional story! Bring out the tissues and be prepared for a beautiful love story! This is Maddie Avery and Grady "Beau" Beaumonts story. Beau is temporarily back in Jasper Creek now his twin Brody/Kai is there. Maddy and Beau have known each other since grade school, where they had each other as they both grew up in households that weren't the best. They were best friends growing up. But Beau up and left Maddie after graduation and joined the marines. This story is a fantastic second chance romance. You get to learn more about the two of them as they grew their careers. You can see how strong Maddie is and how caring Beau is to others that need it. Does Beau have it in him to try to get back on Maddies good graces? Will a sassy Maddy ever trust Beau and her heart? Can Beau keep Maddie safe from someone who wants to harm her? I highly recommend this book!

Beau and Maddie were best friends. They both had difficult home lives growing up and each were the anchor for the other to get through it all. But then Beau left town and became a Marine Raider and Maddie never heard from him again. Fast forward and Beau is back in town to reconnect with a twin brother he was separated from many years ago. Although he doesn’t know how to approach Maddie, she takes the bull by the horns and confronts him. Clearly, they both have more than feelings of friendship for one another and have for many years. Maddie was heartbroken when he left, but Beau thought the clean break was best for her. As they reconnect, Maddie realizes she is only ever herself with Beau and he realizes he can’t envision a life without her. When danger strikes, Beau will stop at nothing to save the woman who owns his heart. This series is one you don’t want to miss.

Maddie and Beau had a strong bond in school which Beau dropped when he left with the intention of never turning back. Fifteen years later and he's back to connect with his long lost brother and his long lost friend.

I love that Maddie doesn't just give into him. She was hurt and continues to carry a resentment towards him. He has a lot to answer for. I enjoyed how the attraction smolders between them but their beginning doesn't come too easy. Throw in some danger and Caitlyn O'Leary delivers with her usual flair. The child social services and other elements add heft and depth to the story, as well and are well researched.

I love how Caitlyn O"Leary writes her books in the same universe and so we get the revisit with some favourite characters.

This book was given to me for free at my request and I voluntarily provided this review.

We are back in Jasper Creek with another wonderful story in the series. This time it belongs to Marine Raider, Beau Beaumont and the woman, at that time girl, he left behind fourteen years ago but never forgot, Maddie Avery.
In their youth , Maddie was his best friend and she too never forgot the boy who truly was her soulmate.
When danger seems to take over Jasper Creek, Beau is determined not only to help, but also to connect with Maddie.
Can these two overcome the past and get a second chance at love and life? Or, will they end up going their separate ways , both heartbroken? Will they be able to go “back to their beginning”?
Another engaging and touching story in this well written series.
I was entrusted a copy of this book. The opinions expressed are solely my own.

Beau is home on leave in Jasper Creek. He thought when he left he won’t return. Beau is now a Marine Raider and missing his friend Maddie. Beau has always loved Maddie but left after his mother passed away. He thought his twin brother was dead but he also recently found his way back to Jasper Creek. Maddie works with foster children. She is a social worker. She has always loved Beau and had a crush on him. When a case puts her in danger Maddie tells Beau she is only whole with him. As things solidify between them and time runs out as Beau is still active duty danger finds her again. As Beau rushes to save her he realizes he has found his anchor. With goodbyes looming can they find their happy ever after. This book is wonderful and well written. Can’t wait for more. 5+ stars.

BACK TO OUR BEGINNING Protectors of Jasper Creek #4 Caitlyn O’Leary
I have been enjoying this series from Jasper Creek, every one of the books. This is the second chance romance story of Beau (Grady) Beaumont and Maddie Avery. They were best friends all through school until he up and heads into the military. He cut ties with her and did his own path for 14 years. She is a social worker who is having problems with an abusive father of one of her kids she is looking out for. Beau to determined to keep her safe and protected.
I always get totally pulled into Caitlyn’s stories, they are captivating enough to keep me reading. The secondary characters are engaging as well. 103 year old Little Grandma is a wonderful addition to this 5 star read.

True confession -- I started the book and read and read and read. Skipped a meal as I pursued the story of Beau and Maddie. This is a standalone book but has many beloved characters from the Protectors of Jasper Creek, The Long Road Home, and several other series by Caitlyn O'Leary. A powerful story of two kids growing up, having each other's back and now, as adults, life is complicated. After reading this book, I dove into several other books by Caitlyn O'Leary (rereads but so very memorable). This author knows how to write a tale that is great whether it is a first read or a multi-reread. Bravo!!

Beau and Maddie were best friends growing up. They were basically the only reason each other survived their childhoods but Beau cut contact years ago. I love Maddie is a "baddie" who champions for those who can't fight for themselves. She may want to protect her heart from the heartbreak Beau's disappearing would cause again but the love they have for each other is evident. Beau owes Maddie an explanation and open communication if he wants to keep her heart safe! I loved that these two knew each other so well and that they worked through their differences as they've both grown a lot over the years. Get ready for a great story and HEA that will have you smiling!

I was so happy to read this book. I'd been in a bit of a slump on the last three or four books (by different authors). They all just left me flat; one was even boring which is not something I say very often. But THIS book! YES!!!!! It engaged me from the moment I picked it up, ever so happy to be back in Jasper Creek with people I'd met before and a few newbies. The story was well-written, the characters were people I could root for, and the small town charm just oozed off the pages. And then there was the kidnapping ... and the rescue. There was absolutely nothing about this book I didn't like. Well, that's not true. It ended. I want more, more, more!

Back to our Beginning

Wow oh wow! Caitlyn has done it again. You will definitely have tears in your eyes throughout this story as well as your heart in your throat! This story is about Beau and Maddie. It basically starts outs out after a fifteen year gap in this couple's relationship. Beau comes back to town and doesn't speak to Maddie right away. It gets interesting from there. The worse part was the situation with Maddie and the biker gang. Beau was there to rescue her in the nick of time. The ending was the start of their happy ending. FANTASTIC job Caitlyn! I would highly recommend this book!

I love everything about Jasper Creek and the whole Avery family! Maddie had her entire family to love her, but she was lonely and still hurt by the loss of her best friend when Beau left town so many years ago. Finding out he was back and still had not reached out hurt her all over again but also made her mad enough to confront him. Beau was still trying to come to terms with his brother being alive and back in Jasper Creek, but seeing Maddie again made him realize she was what he needed all along. There were some rough patches and some danger but they made it through to find their happily ever after.

Back To Our Beginning features another Avery girl, Maddie, and her best friend in high school, Grady Beaumont. They were inseparable, and then life separate them for a while. Now they both are back in Jasper Creek, and a chance meeting brings up many emotions for both of them. They can't seem to stay away from each other, but will life separate them again or can they hold on? I loved this book - Caitlyn O'Leary small town romance series Protectors of Jasper Creek is such a wonderful series and I always look forward to the next book. I would definitely recommend this book and the entire series.
