After a series of setbacks, I’m cutting my losses and moving to Vancouver, B.C., where I can start over—or so I thought. Despite my best efforts to hide, trouble finds me, and my only choice is to run if I want to protect the few loved ones I have left.
It doesn’t help that Sebastian Conner, my best friend’s brother, and Brantley Michaels, my college fling, keep showing up everywhere, even when I try to escape to a secluded cabin in the woods (how cliché, I know).
Being stuck with two hot guys doesn’t sound so bad until you consider the way our undeniable chemistry clashes with our past traumas and the fact that Sebastian and Brantley aren’t exactly best buddies.
When my past catches up to me, the consequences could be explosive, and I have to wonder if I’m living in a romance book or a horror novel.
Everything is about to get really complicated.
Someone Like Me is an adult dark MMF romance with tons of open-door spice, 80s and 90s throwbacks, mental health rep, and LGBTQAI+ rep. It features a sassy, outspoken heroine and two really hot guys with grumpy x sunshine vibes. This book is a standalone in an interconnected series; however, it takes place three years after book one, so some events from Someday Away may be spoiled. It ends with a HEA. See the preface or author website for trigger warnings.
Sara Elisabeth has been a writer since she was six years old when she was inspired by authors like Ursula K. LeGuin, S. E. Hinton, and Terry Brooks.
She's from the Pacific Northwest, spending most of her life with one foot in British Columbia and one foot in Washington state.
She's a self-proclaimed nerd with a passion for RPG video games, movies, and 90s alt-rock music. When she's not writing romance novels, she's certainly reading them.
4.5 ⭐ 3 🌶️ This book will take you on a journey. The author does a wonderful job of mixing a dark and twisty story with a beautiful and at times heartbreaking love story. Oh these poor babies and their traumas. They each have broken parts of them but find comfort and safety with each other. Make sure to read the preface for trigger warnings.
Omg I loved this book! I loved Someday Away, and this was the perfect sequel. Fiona, Sebastian, and Brantley are so good together. The way the characters come together (pun intended) is written so well. It’s a believable path and Sara Elisabeth does a fantastic job making the reader care deeply for the characters and their stories. I can’t wait for the next book!
Someone Like Me is about being seen and being chosen even when you feel unlovable. This book broke me open. I laughed, cried and highlighted roughly 75% the book LOL! It’s honest, real and so beautifully written.
Grumpy x sunshine x sunshine, overcoming past traumas, found family, edge of your seat suspense and just the right amount of chaos. Couldn’t put it down.
We first met Fi, Sebastian and Brantley as side characters in Someday Away, book 1 of the Pacific Northwest Boys series, but they’re back in now for their own story and let me tell you, these three are raw, real and HOT 🥵 The MMF dynamic is spicy, intense and emotional with lots of love, pain, healing, and desire tangled up together.
Dark, messy, emotional, and SO addictive. If you love spicy MMF romance with real stakes and loveable complicated characters, this one delivers.
Sara continues her nods to pop culture references throughout that I loved in Someday Away, and we still get cameos from Charlie, Linc and Trey. Trey is still as cheeky, and Linc is still his grumpy self that we fell in love with.
First of all, thanks to Sara for the ARC and this opportunity! First of all, I'm not really used to read poly romance, but I really enjoyed this story. You know the author is good when you DESPISE the character they wrote to be hated. The love story between Fiona, Brantley and Sebastian is well-written and really nice! It's hard to express the feelings of 3 characters at the same time, but Sara did it too well. I loved the queer representation and self-discovery of the characters. We need more books with this kind of stuff! And well, the spicy was SOMETHING 🔥🔥🔥 woah! Thanks again for this, I can't wait to read more of Sara's books because the writing is 👌👌
Dark romance, raw emotion, sizzling chemistry and life-threatening conflict - just wow!

Ever since I fell in love with the characters in Sara Elisabeth’s first book “Someday Away” I’ve been itching to read the next book in the series - and it didn’t disappoint! “Someone Like Me” grabbed me from the first chapter and refused to let go. Blending dark romance, raw emotion, sizzling chemistry and life-threatening conflict, this is a MMF poly romance with LGBTQ and mental health reps.
But it’s more than just a (very) spicy love story—it’s an exploration of healing, identity, and choosing love, even when it’s messy. Fiona needs to start over, trying to outrun both her past and her pain. But she’s not the only one with baggage. Brantley, the broody college boyfriend, and Sebastian, her best friend’s complicated (and gorgeous) brother have their own problems. Thrown together when Fiona’s past finally catches up with her, the tension is palpable, the emotional (and physical) stakes are high and the spice is hot!
Someone Like Me is a standalone novel, but if you’ve read "Someday Away", you’ll appreciate the family relationships and character cameos. I can't wait for the next one in the series
Thank you to the author for providing this ARC for me🫶🏼
The review is based on my opinion and I don't want to offend anyone who has different thoughts than me❤️
This is book 2 in the Pacific Northwest Boys series.
Okay, so this book is about being seen, about finding your true self, and coming to terms with the fact that whatever happens to you, you are still lovable for who you truly are.
I loved the characters. Fi is such a brave soul, and Seb? My heart broke over his backstory. B's father was a homophobic asshole and I can't hate him more for what he did to them.
The story was good, and it had me hooked from the beginning, but I kinda lost sight of the plot through the other half of the book.
The end seemed a little rushed to me personally, or maybe I just didn't follow the story enough for it to be normally paced.
Even though I wasn't amazed by the second book, I still recommend giving this book series a try🥰
oh i liked this alot! definitely hit you in the feels, had me on the edge of my seat during certain moments for sure, and the spice was SPICIN. 4/5⭐️ and definitely recommend
side note- brantley was everything. i have such a soft spot for MMCs who dont think they deserve love and i just wanted to give him the biggest hug. it was also so so cool to see demisexual rep in a book! gave a super nice perspective to a sexuality that doesnt get enough rep
thank you so much to the author for the arc!! all opinions are my own
I thought it couldn’t get any better with this series, but I absolutely fell in love with Fiona, Brantley, and Sebastian’s beautiful relationship and growth together. I relate so hard to Seb’s struggles with himself and intimacy, and it was refreshing to see demisexuality portrayed in a way that didn’t feel dismissive or forced. It’s so hard to find polyamorous romances that are both realistic and give equal page time to all partners involved, but this series handles both issues so so well. I’m so excited for the third installment and the epilogue novella and will absolutely be reading more of Sara Elisabeth’s work in the future!! (not ashamed to say I squealed at the end note that lists the 3rd installment’s couple)
This is my first time reading one of Sara’s books and I’m so glad I did! It covers a range of issues like mental health, abuse, addiction, and different types of relationships all very respectfully and well thought out. It was dramatic and spicy without overdoing it. Such a good, quick read! Definitely recommend.
4.5 stars- love this local author and the northwest-y vibes in her books! This one had good suspense, some mystery, and lots of feelings. Give me a male character (or two, or three, or four…) that grows and learns to express his feelings on the page. Yessss!! The found family aspect and sexual tension vibes are also a bonus. This is a fun series, looking forward to the next one!
5⭐️ someone like me is MMF. Lemme just say.. HAWT🥵. The spice is so good. I fell in love with all the characters (obviously except the fuckers who suck)🤣. I have to confess, Seb is my favorite👀, I just love him the most. But of course I love B and Fi.😍 The storyline of this book is great, it had me on my toes a couple times and there was little twist I wasn’t expecting. 10/10 read. ❤️
I did not like how any of the characters in this book were written. Fiona didn't want her stepfather contesting her mother's will so she ran away to Canada? B and Seb's dynamic also felt unnatural to me. How much Seb seemed to hate and berate B at every turn was so annoying. Anyway, DNF since I did not like any of the MCs.
If you thought Someday Away gave us enough of Fi, Sebastian, and Brantley as side characters, think again — because their full story is here, and wow, it does not hold back. This MMF romance is raw and Spicy! Like, fan-yourself-and-put-your-phone-in-the-freezer hot. But beyond the spice (which there’s plenty of), this book dives deep into the emotional complexities of three people trying to navigate pain, desire, healing, and genuine love. The chemistry is off the charts, but it’s the vulnerability and messiness that make it impossible to put down. Have tissues and ice water handy. You’ll need both.

Absolutely love Sara’s writing! I loved Someday Away and this one did not disappoint. The love story is beautiful and heartbreaking and the twists will definitely surprise you! Fabulous spice 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️ too!
This books gives you suspense, dark/twisty moments, with mental health reps (abuse addiction etc). It’s done well. The characters are written nicely, the love story between the 3 MCs is one of growth but laced with trauma.
