Really?

I liked these books to start. Sadly, despite the author not being a bad writer and only having a few grammar and editing errors, I won’t read more and likely won’t read any other series. It’s truly annoying when a main character cannot grow and develop over the course of a series. I’m disappointed in the author.

Hell, I read eight of these books but Davina has become too much. She’s self righteous and virtuous to the point of real annoyance. There’s accountability like cleaning up for yourself and then there’s Davina, particularly in the last few books.

But no, the main character, Davina, is too virtuous to accept any help, hell accept ANYTHING, let alone admit any issue and too ‚gosh darn independent‘ to accept any help. She’s the giver. It’s like a sick flaw to put EVERYONE ELSE in front of her own needs. It’s truly moved past being a character to admire and become a caricature of making it on her own, never bothering anyone else, never putting anyone out. It’s character flaws now, not a character to look up to or emulate.

It’s not necessary to clean up a hotel. It’s not necessary to act superior to others because you had a harder childhood, etc. and thus you give, give, give. With everything we’re supposed to remember about how hard it is to be psychic or to have a difficult bullied childhood, I’d like to point out that she has an ENORMOUS number of friends and supporters in her hometown. She’s had a lot of support, even from the first book, but she has this incredibly irritating need to be self effacing and make-it-on-her-own-like to the point where I have lost all respect for her. You can stand up for yourself without paying back other people’s kindnesses and courtesies with money and receipts. She can give to others but cannot accept anything.

SPECIFICALLY FOR EIGHTH BOOK - SPOILER

She can go to a freaking hospital if she was abducted, dislocated her thumb amongst other injuries, got frostbite from her escape and fell into a frozen lake. In fact, she would be made to go, even in fiction, no matter what she said because the hotel, the police and Kelsey’s company could be sued for her injuries. If she’s that concerned about money, perhaps she should consider that Kelsey‘s company would be likely be held responsible for her injuries, even if she is only a consultant, and thus Davina wouldn’t pay the cost.

so beyond outstanding

This is a fantastically written story. The characters are relatable and Rey entertaining. There is a case which needs a physic’s focus to solve. There is shenanigans from her friends, a kidnapping, a real wilderness survival exercise, trapping a murderer to admit the crime, an airport criminal takedown. I have been reading this straight through from page one to the very end. I don’t want to let these characters go. It is a fantastic story I am going to think about for days. I hope book 9 is close to being published! Love these characters.

Holy Molly!

I just finished this book in one day! A page turner for sure but I love every character especially Olivia. From the first book to the last, I pictured her as Barbara Jean from the show Reba. Charming and witty, she is the perfect side kick for Davina....plus a little comedy relief goes a long way when you are scared sh..less . Kaylie, you have a gift for writing but, would you please get Stone and Devina together before she breaks another bone...lol!

Excellent laugh out loud series.

I like all of. Davina series, but this the eighth book was the best one yet. Reading these books always leaves me with a smile. The books are well written and edited but the characters are what make these such a great read. I highly recommend this series if you like a good mystery with lively entertaining characters..

I swear each one is better than the last. Between Davina, Olivia, and Bernadette I don’t know how much more trouble they can get into but book number 9 is waiting for me to find out and I can hardly wait. I love these stories they keep you on the edge of your seats and you find yourself not want to put the book down.

Throughout the book, I was Leary of the hotel guy worker think his name was Thomas and I suspected the hotel owner Lana was apart of the disappearances. I was right that Lana was apart of the disappearances but she was the killer, but never suspected that the sherif/deputy of the town they were was the one helping Lana to kidnap the victims. It never really said he killed any of the victims it just assumed he tortured and raped the victims.

Well this was a wild adventure

Davina, Olivia and Bernadette set off to the mountains to help Kelsey and the Ace group to identify some bones. Sounds simple till a mass grave sends them on the who done it adventure. Davina needs all her skills in life to help her survive. What an outstanding job she did.

Kaylie writes amazing narrative

She created an impossible scenario challenging her heroine and explains how Davina navigates and succeeds against all odds. This was my first Davina Ravine story. It won’t be the last.

team effort

I mean wow what a adventure. Washington with a serial killer and I mean it just turned into chaos. I absolutely fell in love with the characters in the small town where they were. I’m glad that they had some fun in between especially with Kelsey’s team being there.

Great characters

It was a little slow to start, but once it did it was fantastic. If you like Kay Hooper's Bishop series, then you definitely need to read this series.

This was a really good addition to the series. It was fast paced and kept me interested the whole way through. I’ll say it again this series is a cross between supernatural and the Scooby gang. It’s so fun. I have not read the other series but I love how she has merged them lately. Looking forward to #9.
