"Whenever you draw near, new emotionsnever have known without you take root in my heart, and they bloom into fragrant flowers. I never had anyone like you in my life... You are akin to a blossom at my feet, which I must endeavor to never let anyone tread upon."
Goddess Styx was stunning. Genderbending episode was hilarious, as was the bros before hoes Ares debacle! We also finally got more romance and somber moments between Hades and Korre - I really love the author's take on the reason behind Korre's name change to Persephone and her need to stay six moths away from Hades. Very creative.
I really loved how the authir took time to delve deeper into the mother/daughter realtionship between Korre and Demeter; how they took time to show the reader the sheer suffocation and oressure of it all.. and yet, also enabling us to understand exactly why Demeter did it. Like, I hate her but I understand why she did what she did.
I liked this series more than I thought I would, wish it was longer ☺️💕
side note: the scene where hades gives her his helmet and lets her go?!! soulcrushing! and the art!! mesmerising!!
anither side note: when hades said " the world itself could stand against me and still, i shall be with my beloved for eternity." 🥹💘
Ahhh! Also I'm glad that when I randomly learned this series existed it was when book 3 had just been released and I could just read the whole thing. I also appreciate that on the book it mentions it is the final volume.
You seriously get your moneys worth with this series!
Compared to the first two volumes, this volume is much more serious and somber…. However, the final volume just solidifies that Hades and Persephone are my OTP.
Throughout the series, you are witnessing Hades and Persephone follow one another (repeatedly) with their eyes and actively intervening due to jealousy in certain scenarios. Therefore, the second to last issue hurts so much after experiencing these two idiots fall in love!
Gods! Such a good read! Can’t recommend this series enough!
this series was too cute. for some reason this last book didn’t hit as well as the other two did, but i still loved it! definitely the series that is getting me back in manga. especially with this being greek mythology, im excited to explore more. hades and persephone has always been my favorite greek mythology tale, so being able to read a rendition of it always makes my heart happy. another thing about this series- THE ART!!!!! every scene was so perfectly drawn. everything was BEAUTIFUL! (especially the hades drawings 😮💨)
The epic conclusion of this manga version of the Demeter-Persephone-Hades Greek myth does not disappoint. The third and final book in the trilogy, this volume is twice as thick as volume 1 and introduces more characters from classic Greek mythology, while expounding on previous characters. Hilarious and also touching in the end, with philosophical musings throughout on how different relationships work for different folks. Our public library has volumes one and three but two is still on order?! Hopefully I will get to read it eventually.
Annoying Inconsistencies: Right off, Persephone gets a rope tied around her arms and torso, in such a way she can't freely use her arms at all. As our female lead "what does she do to remedy this?" you may ask. And the answer is absolutely nothing. For 80 pages (3 whole chapters) she has the stupid rope tied around her! And within that time there are few pages where the rope is off and then back on. no explanation.
Hades is of course the main charcter of this series, but his weak counterpart really made this series not as enjoyable.
This was a chunky manga volume and I loved it. I have always enjoyed Hades and Persephone retellings so ngl I am the target audience. I liked the slow burn and them both realizing they like each other finally. The scene where Hades gets locked in the room with Aphrodite, I loved seeing Hades reaction. Seeing the other gods and goddesses interactions are always fun and usually have me chuckling. The final climax was outstanding and beautiful.
This was a sweet ending, and I knew it wouldn't happen, but I kind of wanted Like, it was cute, but I wanted more from it and that panel had so much emotion behind it that I wanted it to end there.
Easily one of my all time favorite short manga series as well as an exceptionally fun Hades & Persephone retelling. This series had a cute beginning, but a BEAUTIFUL ending. My only complaint is that I WANT MORE!!
This was a super fun, sweet ending to a light-hearted retelling. Sure it has its faults and flaws, and at times the tonal shift can be a little jarring, but it's overall just a fun time and a really good read! I'm really glad I picked up this series.
Gnierk.
Honestly, this series is not for everyone, but I enjoy the chaos all of Greek gods create. And beside art, which is breathing, I adored Hades and Kore. Hades is one of the best male leads!
This was an excellent conclusion. It was nice to see the threads laid down in the first volume finally come to fruition. The art is still gorgeous and the characters are still fun.
What a sweet ending to an absolutely crazy story. All of the side characters were such a delight, and I want more of them! This was definitely the funniest twist I've read on Hades and Persephone.
to think my comedy manga would turn into a romance gem like this is truly amazing. thanks to my mother for picking this one out for me i probably would’ve never read it otherwise
