An awesome book about Harry Styles that gives children a simple introduction to his life and music journey. I liked how it showed that Harry didn't simply wake up one morning and decide, “Yep, I'm going to be in One Direction. Yep, I'm going to be Harry Styles.”. No. His journey started from plays, karaoke, winning a school music competition, working in a bakery, to getting into music, acting, and fashion. Just because of the X Factor.

It's a good message for children because it shows that you don't have to stick to one career path. And doing what you love can get you somewhere.

He is expressed as this quirky guy whose personality makes you feel left wanting to know more about his achievements and the challenges he faced. It gives you an overview of his journey, but it doesn't always feel deep or compelling.

Overall, I think it's a good introduction to Harry Styles for younger readers, especially because of its message about following your interests and being open to different opportunities.

This biography tells the story of Harry Styles and his journey from a young performer to an internationally successful singer. Harry enjoyed singing and performing when he was young and participated in school productions. As a teenager, he auditioned for a television talent competition and became a member of One Direction. Although the group did not win the competition, it became extremely successful. Harry later began a solo career and became successful on his own. The book also discusses his work in acting, fashion, and other creative areas. I liked this book because it shows how Harry explored several different interests instead of limiting himself to one career. I think children can learn that their interests may change as they grow and that it is okay to try different things. The illustrations are also colorful and make the biography feel fun rather than like a traditional textbook. I could use this book during a biography or career unit. Students could create a timeline of Harry’s career and identify the different areas he has explored. For CSD clients, I could use it to practice vocabulary related to music, performance, clothing, and emotions. Students could also create a “My Future Dreams” page describing careers or activities they might want to try.

This book was so colorful and perfectly captured Harry Styles' colorful spirit. I liked the little details throughout this whole book. There is one page where these girls are watching one direction on the tv, and they are wearing one direction bracelets, and I thought that that was a good added detail. There were a lot of good small details that really add to the book. There were times where his songs were on different page, and the fans wearing his merch instead of just plain normal clothes. I do think that they made Harry seem very flamboyant from the very beginning, which is not really true, so maybe the illustrator could have started him in duller clothes before he truly found himself. I do like how there is one page where he is wearing a jacket, and you can tell that it is sparkly because of how it is illustrated. This book is informational, so that illustrations really do help the book be interesting. I once again like the timeline that is included in the back of the book. This added element just allows children to understand that the book is about someone real. I liked this book especially since I am a fan of Harry Styles. This was a fun book to read.

Hmmm… The adult reading this will be reminded of 1D or whatever they were called, and Harry's solo hits to some extent, and how he was alright in a couple of films, and will learn that he has a cosmetics brand of his own, and so on. The youngster reading this will know all this and more about the man already, so that clued-in young reader will like as not get nothing from these pages beyond the message of being yourself, doing what you want and spreading joy being recommendable things. Different audiences will gain different messages and different lessons here, then. But the adult, without realising quite what Styles has meant to the youth of today, will still probably think his output a bit thin on the ground to have deserved such a book to himself already. Heck, they may declare his place in this series was boosted by all the feather boas and, er, fashion ideas. I know I did. But for the target audience there is no harm in Harry being included in this manner – beyond as I say the fact that all the facts here will be already known. A generous four stars.

Harry Styles laat ons zien hoe een klein enthousiast jongetje opgroeit tot de vrolijke wereldberoemde spring-in-het-veld die wij nu kennen. De illustraties zijn kleurrijk, net als Harry zelf.

Echt mooi om te lezen hoe dat kleine jongetje zijn droom kan waarmaken en met zijn motto ‘wees aardig voor elkaar’ én zijn muziek de wereld tot een fijnere plek probeert te maken.

Fan van het boekje en van de mens Harry!

This is a wonderful book in the Little People, Big Dreams series. I really enjoyed reading about Harry Styles, who is a pop star made famous by Simon Cowell when he was put into a group called One Direction. I found the book very interesting and I loved the graphics too. It was interesting to read about Harry's childhood and his life after One Direction. Highly recommended!

Adorable depiction of Harry Styles' life and growing personailty in the limelight.
Very sweet how this storytelling talks about Harry standing out and testing boundaries and norms without commenting negatively on it. I especially adore the full circle moment of having him "still be a child that loves to entertain".
Can't talk much about the accuracy of this biography but I trust it's well researched and I loved finding multiple song titles of his solo albums in the illustrations~
