Dazai and Chuuya have the culprit behind this case pegged at last, but what was the villain’s motive? From the truth about Arahabaki to the mystery of the old boss’s resurrection—all the secrets are finally revealed!
"i have a plan. but me alone won't cut it. you and i need to work as one. will you trust in me? ₊˚⊹⋆" ~skk you will always be famous!!
This volume was SO good. The art was extremely creepy, especially in regards to the old boss. I love how much detail the manga has! I've said this countless times, but the story is SO much stronger in the manga/light novel than the anime.
I loved seeing Dazai whip out his infamous acting skills again at the beginning with Randou and I LOVED DAZAI ACTUALLY EXPLAINING HIS PLAN FOR THE FUTURE WITH CHUUYA (no matter how bleak it is)!! Dazai actually being honest for once?! Once again, this reasoning was a lot more complex which I really enjoyed.
And Chuuya :(( his panels were drawn SO well and you could see how much emotion he had. Mini backstory reveal!!
"how could i? i'm not even a human at all. [...] do you have any idea...how it feels?" ~a bullet would hurt less!
I love how everything connects- ahem Stormbringer- Asagiri you're a genius. As usual, Dazai and Chuuya are the best, whilst I love their arguing, their team-ups are freaking awesome! I can't wait to read the final volume, especially knowing what comes after!
I have not shut up about how much I adore hoshikawa’s artstyle and how much darker and more eerie it makes the story but the way she illustrates the old port mafia boss specifically? it’s HORRIFYING in the best way possible.
chapter 11 rimbaud's entire defense being "nuh uh"
chapter 12 the way he just pummeled through the building and into rimbaud ah i do love chuuya diving headfirst without thinking. gasp he's arahabaki?? (lol we know what he is from the anime, the manga, and the light novel, but seeing it revealed in the light novel manga is fun)
chapter 13 credits to everyone involved bc they managed to make the old pm boss look terrifying. i wonder why he has such a relationship with dazai when mori found dazai after his suicide attempt and then used him when he killed the boss like bro was on his deathbed?? unless there's a period of time between mori recruiting dazai and then the boss falling sick and mori killing him? not sure about that timeline.
chapter 14 skk working together and producing results iktr
chapter 15 here i am getting a rare view into dazai's character and this is actually one of the most in depth looks we get in the series. he wanted to die but now he wants to live side by side with death - is it bc he finds life boring and that's exciting? but i'm happily going along with his character revelation and then boom unnecessarily close skk moment lol.
chapter 16 verlaine mention!! chuuya hands reveal and "im not a human and i don't even like myself but i can understand fighting for one's friends so there's no one else i'd rather fight than u" omg he's everything to me.
"they hate each other" Dazai literally said "Chuuya przekonal mnie bym jeszcze nie umieral" OKAY IK HE JS SAID IT SO ARTHUR WILL KNOW ON WHOSE SIDE HE IS BUT GUYS THEY DO NOT HATE EACH OTHER I LOVE THEM AND OML HARUKAWA'S STYLE IS SO BEAUTIFUL nd about the story, i love reading this, because theyre my age. when i heard about bsd for the first time I was 10 or 11. I started being interested in it when I was 12 (almost 13). And now Im suddenly older than Kyouka? Wdym? Its so sad that kids are killing ppl because they have to. And Dazai, I love Dazai. Especially 15!Dazai. We know a lot about him but we also know almost nothing. Why is he like that? sooo I need Mori's backstory!!
They sure milked this one, it easily could have been 3 volumes instead of 4. But I’m real glad they’re doing Storm Bringer because they sure did rewrite it to set up for Verlaine and really hammer home whatever the hell is going on with him and Rimbaud.
For fucking real? “Throwing it all away for your partner, what better reason is there for risking your life?” CHUUYA.
That feeling when you were so sure there was only three volumes based on your knowledge of the arc in the anime but then got left on a cliff hanger and had to order the fourth volume. Do i need to do more research before blindly assuming things? Yes. Will I ever learn? No.
