I really couldn't rock with Kelan and Kane. Cheating even though you're mentally no longer in the relationship is stupid to me. He should've just broken up with Melani before pursuing Jenesis. The simple fact that he pursued her and acted like his girl didn't exist turned me off, and I just couldn't get over that. He seemed like he'd be an awesome boyfriend, but I couldn't look past him being a cheater, so I didn't enjoy the book like I wanted. It's personal but not the book itself. The book itself is a good read but would've been an awesome read if I was rooting for the characters; however, I wasn't. Jenesis doing the complete opposite of what she said was a no for me. The fact that she eventually looked past Kelan being in a relationship was a no. Her bestie Dior was blah to me. The fact that money motivated her to have a threesome with a complete stranger was a no. Again, personal preference made me not connect with the characters. Also, the book ends on a cliffhanger. I doubt I'll read the next book, though. It was a good read, just not my cup of tea. All I felt between Jenesis and Kelan was lust, not love 🤷🏽♀️ Kane is a red flag, so he's a hell no for me.

I stuck around for the ride but if you dislike the cheating “trope” then don’t even pick this up. Everyone is in a relationship except for Jensis and Dior our FMCs. They’re single as a Pringle.
Some scenes were so off putting that I had to sit with myself and think, is this for real?
Kelan and Kane (MMCs) gave me the creeps. Kelan continued to make moves on Jenesis although the author made a point to reiterate that she was very intoxicated, needed assistance to stand and did not remember the interactions later. Keep this in mind when it’s mentioned that he then RECORDED their whole hookup as proof that she was begging to be intimate with him. And the second time she was in bed sleeping and he pulled her gown up to ~admire~ her naked body.
Now Kane has pulled a gun on Dior when she declined a threesome and offered her a large sum of money after making her stay. Weird! Also all of the other random men interested in the FMCs happen to be married or in a relationship as well… just odd.
Jenesis automatically wanting to act as a mother figure for Kelans child, odd.

The way this book does not need a part 2…

This book is toxic and messy af and for the most part, I enjoyed it. Now there were two parts that I find HIGHLY problematic, but I’ll mention them later.
This book is told in seven POVs — Kelan, Jenesis, Dior, Kane, Melani, Bryson, and Bonnie. Look. Everybody didn’t need a POV chapter. Like I understand why the author did it but let’s be real. Anything mentioned in Melani, Bryson, or Bonnie’s POV can be revealed in someone else’s POV.
Aside from that, the storytelling is really good. I was really engaged and it kept me guessing. And like I said before, it’s hella messy. The characters are also very contradictory. For instance, I really like Dior but sis is a walking contradiction. How you gon be upset with Meishia for sleeping with Tavaris when he was in a relationship with you but you encouraging Jenesis to do the same thing? Girl make it make sense.
However (!) I really liked the friendship between Jenesis and Dior. You can tell it’s a real friendship and that they really care for each other. They are also hilarious.
Now, the problematic stuff…
I was really feeling Kelan and Jenesis in the beginning, but the drunk night in Miami put me off Kelan a bit. Based on the title, I assumed both parties would’ve been drunk and crossed the line. I didn’t like that Jenesis was drunk but Kelan wasn’t. Yeah we can say he turned her down in the beginning and all that but he still gave in. A drunk yes isn’t a yes my 🥷🏾 and the fact that she didn’t even remember it made it even worse. THENNN this 🥷🏾 had the nerve to record them. JAIL!
Also why was this 🥷🏾 still with Melani so far into the book? We already established that he didn’t want to be with her. So why are you sneaking around with Jenesis? Just break up with Melani. Tf?
The more I’m thinking about it, the more I’m realizing I don’t really like Kelan. He was playing in Jenesis’ face far too much for me, and I don’t like the fact that he assaulted her (because let’s be real. That’s what it was).
I don’t like Kane’s toxic, problematic ass either. This 🥷🏾 pulled a damn gun out on Dior because she didn’t want to have a threesome with him. 🥷🏾 she just met you! No means no. Tf. THEN Kane has the nerve to blow Dior’s phone up like he’s her man or some sh*t. His ass can go to jail again too.
Maybe Kelan and Kane will be redeemed for me in part two, but I doubt it. I’m only reading part two to find out how tf Dior is fed and who actually snitched on Sincere.

Baffled.
Let me be clear the actual writing/ storytelling was good. But the story, the characters, events within the story was HORRIBLE! This may not make sense to most, but it does to me.
Despite the decent writing, I do not recommend this story. It was grossly irresponsible and the lack of trigger warning really emphasizes my disgust.
I can’t wrap my head around a world where, sexual assault is involved in a happily ever after. And this story featured, not one but two couples who assault the FMCs. And one recorded the act and sent it to the victim. And the author treated these acts like normal romantic gestures.
There’s unhinged and there’s abusers. It may be blurred, but the line exists. This is dangerous to dress up nonconsensual acts and describe them, but frame as someone being too into you. Nope. That is disturbing and disgusting.
Dior was a horrible friend and both women were birds. Jenesis’ had no backbone or self respect.
Kelan was a horrible MMC, who courted and formed a relationship with Jenesis; despite being in a long term relationship. Who also continued to have sex with, but threatened Jenesis from entertaining anyone. The entire story he kept going on and on about leaving Melani, but never did. And the way she was treated at the end was uncalled for. The audacity of Jenesis to accuse the woman of being on drugs and talk ish about her; threatening to beat the woman. And she’s sleeping with this girl’s man and building bonds with her child. Like sweetie?! What are you talking about? You have no room to say ish about Melani.
This was a mess and I still haven’t addressed Kane, who is as trash as his brother.
Throw the whole story away. Despite the ending. I can’t hate read any further.

1⭐️Let it be known that this is probably the worst thing I’ve read… and that includes Morning Glory Milking Farm.
This was recommended as a stay up all night kind of book but it was deeeefintely not. It should have been a DNF for me with how poorly written it was and all the motherfuckas, bitches, n*ggas, and hell nah’s… but it was a train wreck I couldn’t look away from.
Expect lots of cheating, the side chick pov, and the main couple not being actually good people, especially the man 🙄🙄

I have so many mixed reviews after reading this. There were so many moments when I had to put my kindle down and shake my head. Let's just start with, I didn't like any of the people in this book and how they were portrayed but I couldn't put the book down. Kelan and Jenesis really got on my nerves!! I thought Jenesis had more sense than she did but her actions showed me she isn't as wise and I thought. Now I have to read Part2 because I need to see what Melani is about to do now that Kelan has finally stopped cheating and ready to be faithful to his Jenesis smh.

Must Read
I absolutely love Dior and Jenesis friendship . They do not play about each other. Their bond is definitely solid and. The way they have each other back is heartwarming. While Jenesis is laid back. Dior is the very blunt, no nonsense, gun toting friend. Dior introducing Jenesis to Kalen was the start of Jenesis coming out of her shell. However Jenesis knows that Kalen have a woman and no matter how much she want him for herself. Jenesis was fighting hard to not succumb to her lust and attraction for Kalen. That was until Jenesis got drunk when her and Dior took a trip to Miami and Kalen was there for his brother Kane Birthday. I don't know why Kelan dragged his relationship out with Melanie lazy drunk ass for so long because he had been left their relationship mentally. I guess he was trying to make the relationship work because of their daughter. However meeting Jenesis just gave him even more of a push to end things with Melanie. You can tell from the beginning the way Melanie was moving that she was cheating on Kalen. Getting drunk, partying, neglecting their daughter, neglecting her relationship with Kalen was all red flag's. Melanie claiming to be pregnant wasn't a surprise but I don't think it was Kalen baby. I have a feeling that it was Melanie who sent the video's of Jenesis being drunk to her job. I was laughing hard as hell when Dior literally knocked Melanie out. When Kalen finally decided to end him and Melanie relationship. She shouldn't have been surprised. Jenesis was right when she told Kalen she believed Melanie wasn't just drunk when she came to his Gym acting a damn fool. Melanie was under the influence of drug's too. The secret Kane and Kalen mother Jewelynn told Kalen had my mouth dropping open in shock. Jewelynn also put Kalen in a messed up position because him and Kane are very close. I see Kane snapping once his mother reveals what she's been hiding from him for year's. Bonnie isn't a good fit for Kane. You can tell their relationship isn't held together by love but moreso of comfortability. Even with them being together for year's. They don't seem affectionate towards each other. I laughed when Kane finally met Dior because I knew he was going to be interested in her. Kane and Dior are a lot alike. I see them being good for each other but Dior is giving Kane a run for his money. Bryson is a damn mess but I believe Imani might be the one to tame his hoeish way's. The way this ended. It seems Dior may have gotten caught up in some trouble. Especially while she was going unconscious from being drugged when she mentioned having involvement with the FED'S. I couldn't do anything but shake my head at Melanie once she revealed who she had been creeping with. I don't see anything good coming from it.

Worst book boyfriends ever, and this is coming from someone who also enjoys a dark romance morally grey etc; but this book isn’t even marketed like that. Kelen is supposedly tired of his current girlfriend and the way she treats their daughter plus her drinking, he spends no time with her in the book but also won’t leave her. It doesn’t even make sense why he won’t leave. Jenesis is very clear that she doesn’t want to sleep with him until he ends his situation yet he still sleeps with her repeatedly while she is black out drunk after promising her friend he will take care of her and would never take advantage of her. She wakes up not knowing where she is or what happened and can’t even remember anything about it at all period, not even flashes of the night she was that drunk. He also records this and allows his cousin to listen to it!!!
The worst part of this whole thing is that he could have left his girl near the beginning of the story and could have moved to the drama surrounding her ex and his family that wants revenge on her and missed out all this disturbing content. He then convinces her to sleep with him in his gym while recording her on the cameras. He is really just a trash human being, manipulative, selfish, doesn’t protect any woman he’s supposedly with, and couldn’t hive half a damn about consent at all. He has zero protective instincts for anyone in his life. He knows the mother of his child constantly gets drunk yet theres an insinuation that shes left alone with their child and the childs afraid of her. He makes a threat to his mom about forgetting who she is to him and he says he almost hits her on instinct. ( The mother has done something messed up but this is just breezed past with no real explanation leaving the reader to think why on earth bother even giving out this info felt like drama for dramas sake, it lacked substance). He gaslights his brother after claiming loyalty means everything to him, he doesnt even attempt to wonder why his girlfriend has completely changed and is struggling with alcoholism and no attempt to get her help and brings his daughter around his affair partner. Then when he finally leave his girlfriend he chooses to tear her all the way down and then leave her homeless. He’s disgusting and the mom is equally disgusting.
Is there even a point to getting to Kane, unhinged just for the sake of it and just as rapey as his brother. If I’m walking into a book with irredeemable MMC’s I like to know that going in so I’m prepared. Just out here doing whatever they want and not caring a thing about anyone around them, and every man in this thing is cheating, like all of them, from main character to side character its weird. Truly can’t believe I made it to the end of such a trash ass book

This was a two star read through and through. The author didn’t build up Miss girl and Sincere relationship enough for the heartache and pain she wanted to convey. Jenesis had me hype I love a FMC with a different job, about her bag or whatever. She lost me soon as she got me, if you gonna make the character a BAD ONE and a real no nonsense girl then STAND ON IT. Jenisis talked a good game and was fake tough for all of 3 chapters when it came to Kalen, she folded like a futon EVERYTIME. While I get she isn’t a mother I think as a woman she should’ve had the sense to ease into that little girls life. As a father Kalen should’ve never had his child around Jenesis so early on. Kalen gave coochie hungry attention starved slime ball. We spent hella chapters listen to him cry and complain about Melani but never leave, he knew she was gonna bring drama but ain’t get no paperwork drafted ain’t dismiss that girl until dang near the end of the story. Like you hear miss girl say she wanna be friends why you posted up with her and ya baby like y'all partners or something. Very nasty very slimey all the way through. Then the author decided to pick and choose when he was gonna be a man of morals. He turned down sex with her initially cus she’s drunk BUT ITS APPROPRIATE TO LOOK AT HER NAKED BODY WHILE SHES SLEEP ? Had the nerve to say “im not on no weird stuff” LIKE ACTUALLY BROTHER YOU ARE. Now Kane was even worse cus how you brag about three ways but BULLYING someone into one like huhhh? What is you on as an author to write something like that. Like Dior had the right to have her gun out cus she didn’t know what she was walking into, Kane wanted to flex back and prove a point… Like wasn’t a single thing sexy or erotic about Kane and Dior, author should’ve kept that interaction in the drafts. Next up how is Dior and escort, an agent and a bartender like the pieces is not falling into place appropriately. I feel like the author had a decent plot idea but it became way too jumbled and messy but the situations all lacked depth and nuance. None of the drama felt well crafted, it felt like let me toss this trope in her and this one too oh and a lil of this for good measure. The story wasn’t long enough for what all she tried to make happen. I will not be reading the second part at all because I hate a love triangle(unnecessarily) sneaky friend circle/ deadbeat mom / side piece story and that’s really all this was.

This damn Melani! Sis keeps digging herself into a deeper hole that she won't get out of! She is minding all these new friends who can't or rather won't tell her an ounce of sense! Now, she has lost everything in the blink of an eye! If she thinks messing with Sincere is going to help her when she reveals this information to him, she has another thing coming! It's very clear she knows nothing about who Kelan really is and the lengths he will go to to keep Jenesis safe! Mama Jewelyn knows keeping that big of a secret from the boys is going to backfire! She saw how Kelan reacted and not once did that put fire under her ass to tell Kane who it seems doesn't have a lick of good sense in him! Dior, Dior, Dior! Girlllllll, you done got caught up in some hot ass mess! The only person I believe could have found out who she was is Kane! I mean absolutely nothing about her scream FEDS! I mean that's how it's supposed to be, but whewww baby! When that skeleton really drops out the closet, it's going to be real bad! Bryson is a whole character out there! I need part 2 NOW! 😆 I'm left with too many questions, honey. Jenesis and Kalen are really a cute "couple." They both tried hard to keep the relationship in the crown zone, but we all knew that was going to be an epic fall in both of their parts, lol. They both wanted or needed what the other was willing to give. After Jenesis' last relationship ended the way it did, you only wanted the best for her. Kalen seems like he's going to be the one to give her all her heart desires in the end, and i can't wait. But we all know that Melani is not going to let them be happy. And who was she really pregnant by because apparently she's been cheating a long time. Dior and Kane are going to be so toxic, and I love it!! Lol. They've met their match when they came together, and both of them were crazy. But who done kidnapped Dior? Did she have anything to do with Jenesis' name being on her ex's paperwork? Things are about to get crazy…
Yes part 2 is about to be straight fire and I can’t wait. Jenesis and Kelan are so good together and I am finally glad he moved on from his deadbeat baby mama Melani because she was straight trash. I’m not surprised by her connection to Jenesis ex so I know it’s about to be straight drama coming but Melani has no idea who her baby daddy used to be so she will not see the storm coming. Now on to my girl Dior she is a crazy mess and her and Kane are a match made in toxicity which makes them perfect for each other. I’m not too shocked about what was exposed about her because for some reason I always thought she had something to do with what transpired between Jenesis and her ex Sincere but I hope she’s okay and that whatever is revealed about her connection is not something that will end her and Jenesis friendship because they have a crazy sisterly bond. If I could give 0 stars I would.
Every character in this book did the opposite of what they said they WOULD NOT do.
Jenesis: " I'm too pretty to become somebody's side chick. "
Dior: " I don't do threesomes, and I've never been paid to have sex. "
Kelan: " I'm not a cheater. "
A woman who willingly has sex with a man who's in a relationship has no morals or self-respect. A man who sees that a woman is willing to do that to herself and still ignores it will continue that pattern.
The phrase: " The same way you get them, is the same way you lose them." Comes to mind with these characters.
Kelan cheated on his girl because Jenesis was beautiful with a big booty. Whose to say he wouldn't do the same thing to Jenesis?!
The only reason why I wanted to keep reading this book was to see if Imani left Kane. I didn't care about the other characters because they are all for the streets.
I tried to get to the end, but the more the side chicks kept justifying what they were doing, the more disgusted I became.
Cheating tropes is not for me. DNF!!

The DRAMA never stopped in this book and I was here for all of it!!!…This book kept me thoroughly entertained and laughing because Dior is the friend you definitely keep around!!!…
Melani knows she fumbled a good man and I can see the messiness coming for sure because she is not going to just let it go!!!…I bet she is really hurt learning the woman whose man she was messing with is now messing with the man she just lost!!!…Now that’s Karma knocking for real!!!…

I must truly say Alecia J, did her thing with this one. I don't understand women sometimes because I your mom or granny may have told you that what ever you do to capture that man's heart to must continue and then some and that's for both sides, so for Melanie to encourage Kelan into starting his business only to becoming a lazy at home baby momma that was neglecting her duties as a.potential wife and mother; she became the total opposite which was sad.
Jenesis bouncing back after her ex went away was a good thing but she was not living just existing that was until her best friend Dior convinced her to join her at the gym and that's where she seen her future. As you read this story it will have you laughing as well as gasping at some events but each page will hold you captive til the end wanting more. I just hope whoever broke into Dior place doesn't hurt her because Jenesis and Kane would not be able to cope.

Just OK
I read this book after a Tiktok post, and maybe this just wasn't the genre for me. I typically hate insta-love stories, but this started out slowly so much so that I was 200 pages in and still Jenesis was just joining the gym. It felt like a lot of jargon and unnecessary conversations, and too many points of view from different characters. It was a lengthy story at 400 plus pages which is usually not a big deal. I found myself losing interest and almost DNF but after reading more than halfway, I'd already invested my time. The drama did start to pick up towards the last few chapters, and it does end on a cliffhanger, but the storyline is not enough for me to read the next book. It might be good to some but not for me.

Great read
This story was good. I like Kelan and Jenesis but I was annoyed with Kelan trying to justify his cheating masking it as friendship. I mean even though his relationship was rocky he should’ve ended things before starting things with Jen. I love Dior and Kane they are meant for each other but I really hope she not a rat. I also hope she not the one that set Jen up and forged her signature on the statements against Sincere. Melani just need to pack it up and leave my girl Jen alone because she don’t owe her no loyalty her ex man did. She just want to start problems because you messed up and fumbled the bag and the man.

Omg omg the way this book ended, It got my nerves on the edge. I can't wait for pt2. As always, my sister always comes through with that heat🔥🔥! Them damn brothers is a whole mess they got some issues, especially kane's ssa he is a whole fool lol at least Kelan got some sense lol and Bryson he definitely doesn't got it all. Jenesis and Dior them my girls that got these 🥷 tripping over their ass 🤣. That B!tch Melani gonna be a problem. I can see it now. I hope in pt2 she gets the ssa whipping she deserves. Great way to start the series. I love it here. I can't wait for pt2! As also, Alecia J, ur pen game never ceased to amaze me another great book to add to my collection.

Kelan The gym owner and trainer It was definitely a different story line from your typical rich drug dealer. I love when authors can switch it up and show us something different But still relevant to our culture. Islam definitely But I But I am more curious aboutam Kane and Dior ! It's a sickness of mind to always be intrigued by the supporting charactersI cannot wait till all of the secrets and lies unfold in part 2!

Babbbyyy, I am shook 😅 The revelations honestly threw me for a loop but have me anticipating the next book!
I loveeee Kelan! He really was an amazing man. I enjoyed seeing the way he cared for Jenesis & didn’t let up. Now if I was him, it wouldn’t have taken that long to cut Melani off because she was terrible. Kane was absolutely insane but I loved every minute of it. Dior, girlll idk what she got going on but I need an explanation asap!! Kane & maybe even Kelan are definitely gonna come in guns blazin as soon as they catch wind of what happened to her. You definitely won’t be disappointed with this book!

First let me say them Masters brothers ain't no joke! They see who they want and go after it! Jenesis was framed by whom, not sure yet but Sincere was wrong for accusing her without hard proof! Dior's undercover work, I truly want to know what's going on with her! After what happened at her house, we are left hanging! Kelan is truly fed up with Melani and that ending, wow! Kane and Bonnie, they are are truly mismatched so I wonder what will happen with them and Dior! I can't wait for the next book! Mama Masters don't play either. Great read Alecia J!!!!

Jumbled Up
Its so many things that needs to be addressed in this story.
1. Two non-cheaters, cheat with each other. It was a wrap when they got emotional attached to each other and to add alcohol it was definitely a wrap.
2. Threesome that leads to a Twosome. Make me understand why you stay in a relationship where there nothing worth saving.
3. Past hurt in a relationship cam cause to lose out in the future.
4. I need a friend like Dior,, she didn't play about her best friend. She said she would even fight a man about her best friend.
5. Secrets are always going to be exposed.
6. I think I love me some crazy alpha men.

It had potential..
Story had potential. Spoiler Alert: Unfortunately, throughout the book I didn’t really care for the main female character and her friend.
