I've always loved reading, but didn't discover romance novels until my mom shared one with me. I was hooked. Good thing I found my romantic soul mate to act as my inspiration. My favorite stories always involve paranormal powers and strong women, so that's what I write about. I love secret super powers.

I was born in upstate New York, lived in Arizona for many years, and returned to the chilly North East to raise my family. Gotta love the seasons! I bravely left my job as editor at Tribune Media Services to pursue a full-time writing career in July of 2012.

I always LOVE to hear from my readers, especially if you enjoyed the story and want to see more of certain characters. All of my stories can be read as a stand alone, but I prefer to write in series so you can continue to see past favorites while meeting new book lovers.

I picked up this book on a whim and enjoyed the suspense and sweet romance of the story. The characters, Nick and Whitney, are well developed and the mystery was interesting enough to keep me reading, although there were a few times I skimmed over pages with too many details. The story seemed a bit uneven in how it flowed, and there were a few instances where I questioned the events (going for an impromptu swim and having swimming trunks handy) or thought the dialogue was a little stilted (two police officers giving locations for nearby cities which they should already know how to get to), but all-in-all, I liked this psychic/paranormal tale. It provided a nice contrast to all the contemporary, erotic romance I've been reading lately and is worth checking out if you're a fan of mystery and romance.

"Vibrations" by Lorena Wood is a great paranormal detective story with a romance thrown in that is full of chemistry and sparks.
Psychic Whitney joins detective Nick in the investigation of a serial killer who focuses on young boys.
Whitney and Nick have sexual chemistry but take some time before they work well together and gel.
If, like myself, you watch series like CSI, Bones and the Mentalist, then you will appreciate how well thought through and written this story is. It uses known themes but Whitney's gift comes at a price for her own health and makes her less of the superhero that we find so often in the genre. The vulnerability, the chemsitry between the characters and the plot are really well constructed and with plenty of care.

This is hugely enjoyable and hopefully the beginning of a successful detective series.

Currently reading, so I am jumping the gun assigning a 5 star rating already. However, I have been recently disappointed, let down, ticked off and downright disgusted with a string of highly rated books that were awful. This is so good!! It has really good writing, great characters, as well as realistic and interesting dialogue. I find the descriptions of the crimes difficult and tend to skim a little there for my own emotional well being, but that doesn't detract from a really excellent

UPDATE. Well, dang. I have to lower my rating. This book got off to a strong start. Great intro to th3 subject, the characters, the setting, everything. Sadly, the quality of writing disintegrates. Severely. There are many moments where I shook my head or yelled at them, what are you doing!! So many times their actions or the actions of the villain made no sense at all. Now I wish I hadn't gotten the 4 bookmset. Maybe the next one will be better. At least they weren't costly, at $6.58 CA for 4 books.

SPOILER ALERT!
OMG where to begin?
Lets start with "I couldn't finish it". Threw it away just after they found the victim that managed to escape and that did it for me. I just couldn't take it anymore. How on earth can someone write about children being abducted and murdered.. with such calm detachment?

Whitney, our psychic able to read minds was useless to say the least. All she did was get sick, eat, pass out and think about how she wanted Nick to jump her bones... while kids were turning up dead. She could read freaking minds but did she do anything useful with that information? Nope. She could see and feel through the victims and murderer, but did she get any useful information? Nope. The FBI was involved and they seemed more than useless. *sigh*

And Nick? In the beginning he was sure there was no such thing as a real psychic, but two pages later he was already halfway convinced Whitney was the real deal without them even exchanging one word. Plausible? Nope. He was supposed to be this no-nonsense macho guy, a leading detective in the kid-killer case with deep inner guilt to drive him off chasing killers... but what we got was a... a what? All he did was babysit Whitney while everyone else was working to catch the killer and think of how he wanted to jump her bones. That's it. Freaking kids were kidnapped and brutally murdered, but our lead characters were only happily dreaming of finally having a relationship. Bah.

And the plot? You would think everyone were freaked out after so many kids turned up missing or dead, but nope. They went on as if nothing happened and everyone was just calm as fuck. I felt more outrage for the dead kids by reading about them than any character in this damn book. I sweat there were more times Nick, the super-cop, thought of jumping Whitney than he thought about actually catching the killer and doing his damn job.

Took me two years to find this book. Which makes it doubly disappointing somehow.

The writing is at like a 5th grade level of simple and monotonous. "He did this. She did that. They did this." It was tedious... "They got out of the car. They went up the stairs to the 3rd floor. He opened the door. She followed him inside. He closed the door and turned on the light." Omg shoot me and put me out of my misery.

The plot sounded interesting, but by 30% something of interest should have happened. It has not. So this is a DNF for me.

A pretty good paranormal romance. I felt parts of it were predictable but I think that comes with the territory. If you're looking for a good steamy read than this is it.

A little bit disjointed at times but the story kept my attention. I just wished that the action parts weren't so overly, unrealistic.
