Bailey seems to be never destined to fit in, a little geeky, but under it all, a hidden beauty that so many seem to miss, but still not what her pack Alpha is looking for in a fated mate... so he is determined to reject her and make her life hell. Bailey, knowing her life will likely never be the same focuses on what she can control, her future, and heads off to study; becoming a teacher.
Asher is the Beta of Autumn Valley Pack, a neighbouring pack. A broken man having suffered the loss of his mate after a rogue attack, Asher is slowly crumbling. Falling to pieces. A shadow of his former self, and not a man that anyone wants to be around anymore...
Until, Autumn Valley Pack require a new teacher, and Bailey finds herself there and pushed together with the Beta. Is there a connection building or is that in their imaginations? And what will happen when Bailey's mate comes back to claim what is his?
Lots of grammatical errors. Very redundant, very, unnecessarily long, with little to no movement to the story. Won’t be reading any more. Was almost DNF for me, skipped/skimmed over a lot of the last 10 chapters.
This needs severe editing, grammatically and the plot itself. Nothing happens for pages and pages and pages. Some chapters are just a repeat of the chapter before it from another point of view, with nothing gained from that perspective. We’re 2 books/500 pages in and have managed to stretch about 50 pages of actual plot across them. I regret buying the full set all at once because I’d have stopped reading halfway through book 1 if not for the money invested. Now I’m just skip reading through hoping to find something that moves us forward. The main female character is an immature brat/crybaby who acts more like she’s 14 than early 20s, and who allows herself to be bullied and pushes people away and refuses to explain to them what’s going on when they want to help her. She’s incredibly rude to the main male character, frequently and for no reason. I think it’s supposed to be her being “sassy” and “tough” but that’s an illusion as she has no backbone at all. We’re supposed to believe that he’s an angry asshole, but he actually comes off as nice and caring and soft hearted but haunted, depressed and exhausted and is constantly harassed by his annoying “friends”. Meanwhile the villain is getting zero comeuppance. He’s had no redemption and is getting exactly what he wanted. He got out of anger management/therapy very quickly without actually changing who he is as a person or learning anything from it, he has not had his title taken away, has not been punished for the attempted murder, and is now getting to marry the girl he’s randomly super into with zero resistance. I was hoping at the very least he’d fall for her and she’d reject him so he could have a broken heart. But no.
The story is ok but the book needs to be edited like we know miles is alpha in waiting and his dad is alpha and Eden is Luna it doesn't need to be explained every time you say their name we know they are alpha and Luna and beta
