For Ty Allen, a trip to Los Angeles for a comic book collectors convention with his friends is the perfect place for the Buffalo based artist to hunt down rare issues for his collection, and take a much needed break. Looking for love isn't on the agenda, but when a man dressed as a popular comic book character saves Ty from his walking disaster self, the trip takes an intriguing turn.
Rock musician Craig Simms spends his spare time in a mask and a cape, bringing happiness to sick children in LA through his foundation. Still, he feels like something is missing. Meeting Ty knocks his world upside down. Drawn to Ty’s friendly, sweet nature, he doesn't want their interaction to end.
A whirlwind weekend of chemistry and connection has them free-falling into something bigger than they'd anticipated. Ty is like a perfect melody for Craig’s weary heart, and for Ty, Craig shifts every experience from muted tones to vibrant hues. But when the weekend is over and life takes new twists and turns, does what happens at the comic convention stay at the comic convention, or can they find a way to fit into each other's universes?

Falling Faster is the first book in The Falling series by Susan Scott Shelley. This is a M/M, instant attraction story that was sexy and sweet.
Ty Allen might spend his office hours working for an insurance company but his heart is in his art, his sketching. He is loving his latest project collaborating with his friends Slater and Noah (from Scoring Slater) in writing a super heroes comic book! The three are taking a break and have traveled from home in Buffalo to Los Angeles for the annual comic book convention. Ty doesn’t get his nick name Hurricane Ty for nothing. One misstep and he’s crashing into a display table. But thankfully, a very sexy man in a super hero costume saves him from kissing the concrete floor. And it’s then that he finds himself staring into the most beautiful eyes.
Craig Simms is a musician/song writer in Los Angeles. He also spends his spare time dressed as a super hero for his charity and visiting sick children in the area hospitals. When Craig jumped to save the man from hitting the floor, he had no idea that this man would have such an effect on him. He knew right away he needed to get to know him better. So Ty and Craig spent the rest of the weekend together. Their instant attraction quickly grew to so much more. But then their time was up. Ty needed to go home and back to work. Craig had commitments of his own.
These two were so adorable together. I love instant attraction stories. I also especially love it when there is no push away. These two were both falling hard and fast. But the question was, would real life dim what they shared during their magical weekend? Or was what they found strong enough to find a way?
This was a short, sweet, sexy story with a happy ending and no angst. It was perfect for what I needed at this moment. I enjoyed getting to know these two and look forward to more from this series.
I enjoyed this story. Ty and Craig made an instant connection after they literally bump into each other. Despite their different status and locations, they found ways to be together. Their love was strong and I loved how they treated each other. How they would work out their relationship problems kept me reading. I recommend this story, and I do look forward to the next one in the series.
Falling Faster by Susan Scott Shelley is the first book in her The Falling series. It is the story of two men who live on opposite coasts who meet and have an instant attraction where they want more with each other but have to figure out a way for it to work. Ty Allen is an up and coming comic book artist who is visiting the biggest comic book convention on the west coast in L.A. with his friends Noah and Slater who are professional hockey players for the Buffalo Bedlam as well as boyfriends in New York. Ty and Slater are both comic book geeks and are making a comic book series involving superheroes and villains together. Ty is somewhat of a clutz and when he tries to take a picture of Noah and Slater he runs into a table and goes crashing to the ground. Luckily he is saved by Batman who is actually Craig Simms. Craig is a musician who writes music as well as played in his original band, Falling Midnight, which broke up due to unforeseen circumstances and he now writes music and fills in when other bands need him. He also has a foundation where its members dress as superheroes and go to children’s hospitals to bring joy and happiness to the patients. He is originally from Buffalo but left and his bandmates Devon and Cody moved back there for their own reasons and Patrick is still in L.A. with him. When Ty’s and Craig’s eyes meet there is an instant attraction and while they both have been disappointed in relationships before they are hopeful that this might lead somewhere. When the accident causes Craig’s coffee to spill all over Ty’s sketchbook he takes him to get another one which leads them to spend the weekend together with Craig helping Ty find the comic books he really wants for his collection and Ty gets to meet the band The Fury that Craig is going to fill in with and also go to a hospital dressed as a superhero. They also have some hot love scenes. When the weekend ends they are both broken hearted because they know what they have is special and they want more. Over the next few weeks they text and get to know one another better and plans for in person visits get disrupted but finally they get together when Noah and Slater offer an airline ticket for Ty to visit Craig in L.A. Interestingly Cody, Devon, and Patrick show up at the same time to see Craig’s last show so they all get to know Ty and realize how good they are together. This leads both of them to question what they want and the logistics to get it which they do when Craig comes to the opening for Ty and Slater’s comic book series where they declare their love for each other and are looking forward to a very happy future together. I really enjoyed this book. Ty is such a sweet, caring man and sees what others need. He didn’t have a great childhood so he is deserving of finding love. Craig is also a great guy who loves music and making kids smile through his foundation. He has never had a serious relationship and is willing to do whatever it takes to be with Ty. Slater, Noah, Patrick, Devon, and Cody play a big part in the story as they turn up and help the guys with whatever they need. The band The Fury also spearheads the way for them to find their forever. I highly recommend this book especially if you like a long-distance relationship story where the men want to be together more than anything and they work hard to make that dream come true. Throw in some music, bands, and comic book art and you might be hooked.
Ty and Craig were sweet (if not particularly interesting) but the majority of this book was revisiting characters from previous books and introducing characters from future books.
Falling Faster is the first book in the new Falling series by Susan Scott Shelley and I can't wait to read more. This is a low angst, fun, long distance read about Ty and Craig.
