For Safe Keeping

Rate this book
My name is Mavis Dahl and I’m the wife, soon to be former wife, of dirty District Attorney Lucian Dahl. Lucian’s sole purpose in life has been to get rich off mafia money, and make my life living hell for the last ten years.

And he almost succeed.

When the Bianachi boys swoop in like knights in shinning armor, it’s hard believe they’ll keep me safe from the monster that lives under my bed. Much to my dismay, Judge, Salvatore, Niko, and Giovanni have one life mission… keep the innocent safe.

But I’m not so sure I’m as innocent as they think I am…

*** Dark Mafia RH romance, please make sure you read the trigger list in the front of the book and proceed with caution.

Unfortunately this is one of those books where I like the story but not the writing. The writing is very plain, focusing on just the essential transmission of information, not creating any sort of atmosphere, depicting character moods etc. It reads like the abstract of another book, missing information like interactions between the characters that would have led them to interactions that are presented or that would have justified things that they say in the book. One of the male characters goes from barely interacting with the FMC to being smitten by her.
It's a shame because if it were twice as long and fixed the issues above it could have been really good!

*sigh*

Another rh book from Stuff Your Kindle that isn't as good as you thought it could've been.

It wasn't horrible, but yet again we have a book that perpetuates tired stereotypes about women.

There's a lot of word vomit for not a lot of action. The various characters keep going on and on in their heads explaining the world in a way that people just don't on a day to day basis.

The premise was vaguely interesting, but the execution leaves much to be desired unfortunately.

If you like well thought out character development this is not your book. If you get easily annoyed by multiple typos and inconsistencies this is not your book. If your triggers include, well anything, this is not your book. It gets two stars because I finished it and it had a hea.

Great story. Love the different dynamics of the relationships of the different characters.

Decent

This was a decent, fairly quick little read. It was fairly surface level and not a lot of relationship building on page but enjoyable nonetheless.

If you’re looking for smut, you’ll get the bare minimum with this book. Nothing until 60% then nothing again until the last 2 chapters. Lots of typos and poor character development.
