Amazing! Clear, practical. doable.6

This book really helps to recognize strategies that you may have in place, understanding what works and how to improve on it. The entire focus is on creating a balance and predictability that helps to organize the mind and emotions. There is a chapter near the end (after helping develop what works for the reader,) that addresses the challenges of parenting and operating a household that is structured without religiosity, incorporates grace and minimi3/ decision overload. Throughout, one comes to acknowledge that we need to make thought out decisions and establish routines that minimizes the need for constant decisions but still reflects a mindfulness and appreciation of the now. I have not been this excited and hopeful about my own ADHD discovery and journey in a long time. I have already recommended to several family and friends.

Same Old Stuff

This book was such a disappointment. There was way too much text for a person with ADHD to focus on. There should have been diagrams or visual examples of the suggestions or recommendations, like making a “decision matrix”. What the heck is that and what does it look like? The author clearly had extensive knowledge but lacked the ability to apply it to people with an ADHD brain. It seemed more like a seminar for doctors than instruction and suggestions for people with ADHD. Lots of repetition, just under different headings. Complete waste of time.
