This short story was written in round-robin style by a group of Prism Book Group authors during a promotional event. It's a cute storyline of a wedding in the mountains that was totally disrupted by a unexpected blizzard on Valentine's Day. Yet the bride's cousin manages to pull everything together and turn the wedding into something better than was even planned.

Like the two stories/novellas before this one, "A Blizzard Wedding" was written by a group of authors round-robin style. Given that, it comes off pretty well — some incongruous events that are probably the result of fast, unedited writing done just for fun: Joshua cannot possibly handle all the pieces of luggage that are described, Rachel really carried her wedding dress on the plane and in the shuttle and that's not mentioned, Luke waits to have his wrist set until after the wedding/honeymoon, Luke is apparently stuck overnight in a vehicle in a blizzard, Rachel and Luke's families arrive just as the wedding ceremony is finished, etc. Seemingly typical for the genre, Ivy (a wounded divorcee who hates men now) and Joshua fall out of snarkiness and into love in a matter of hours, Luke arrives just in time.

I like that that series of 3 short stories/novellas show how multiple authors might string together events into a coherent story. This shows my bias, but it also confirms for me the formulaic nature of romance fiction — that multiple authors could actually come up with something that strings together this well.

Good short holiday story.... This story had me guessing the whole way through and made me realize I am becoming a cynic. Not something you would expect from a very romantic story. I read it all in one sitting as part of my Christmas in July party, lol. I love the characters and hope that Ivy and Joshua have their own story... They really make the book for me :)

"Prayers never worry and worriers never pray..." love this quote from this book. I need to keep on reminding myself about this too. Awesome short story and love the fact that it's a Christian love story too.

Will a blizzard bury this couple's wedding plans?

Luke and Rachel are ready to get married on Valentine's Day but a blizzard sets things awry. Will they be able to save their wedding?

So many things went wrong regarding Luke and Rachel's wedding that it began to feel depressing. I was almost ready to give up on the story in the middle but then things turned a bit more positive so I was able to go on. The special touches that Ivy and Joshua came up with to add to the wedding at the end also ended the book on a really sweet note.

Overall this was an enjoyable story and a nice way to end the set of three stories in this series.

Overall, I thought this was a brilliant short story of romance. I was pleased with how the book was written and I enjoyed reading it from the start all the way to the end. I felt my heart melt by the end if the book as everything turned out for the best.

I would read this again, especially if it's snowing outside. It's a good book to read indoors with the fireplace on and a warm drink.

A beautifully written story, you would not want to put down until you've finished. I would recommend to Christian romance readers.

I've read this book years ago and still remember that I liked it, the whole series is sweet and romantic. I didn’t like the preaching but it wasn’t overwhelming, and I could easily skip it.

Short story

Short book. Would like to see more to story. Author needed to draw out story line. Maybe add more to front end of story.

Typically I wouldn’t review a book this old for a holiday spotlight, as I would prefer to showcase newer books or books by authors with new books coming out soon. I chose to include this book though because I was intrigued by how it was written. Books by many authors is nothing new, however they are generally an anthology of short stories and this particular story was written in a round robin style. This is a popular online forum game that my son and I have played since he was old enough to make up stories, but I have to say there is nothing game-like about how this story turned out.

It is a short story, the culmination of two previous stories about the main characters, Luke and Rachel. In previous stories they meet and fall in love. In this story they are to be wed in a Valentine’s Wedding in a mountain resort. It wouldn’t be much of story ( or a wedding) if everything went smoothly. A freak storm has blown up delaying the flights of the guests, the Groom is missing, the Maid of Honor and the Best Man don’t seem to like each other and the hotel where the wedding is to take place is running on back up generators that have been damaged by the storm. At least the cake is perfect.

I kept reading expecting to see where one author leaves off and another begins and I couldn’t tell. It was a delightful, against the odds, romance story from beginning to end, with no obvious seams. The writing exercise that produced this story was a success and I am happy to have read it. Despite part of an on-going saga, this stood alone very well.

Why was I reading about blizzards in May? Hmmm....I was looking for something really short to read while I was waiting for a friend today. So there.

This is a book by a group of authors. Basically each author wrote a section and took the story where he/she wanted. The end result is available for free on Amazon.

I have many comments about this one, but I'll try to make it shorter. For starters, there are so many spelling mistakes. Like lots of them. I don't know if they edited it or what, but still they're all authors and I expect them to do better than that. Not to publish something like this. Am I too harsh? Maybe. But spelling mistakes are a big turn off for me.

Then there is the written by so many different people thing. You can recognize when someone else took over. The styles change dramatically. One part seems to be very contemporary and then the next one is all about prayers? What? I've read Christian books before, but the change here was so sudden.

I applaud the idea of writing this book, but I certainly don't applaud its execution.

Rating - 1 star. I don't remember when I've given such a low rating before. Probably because I avoided rating books so low so I wouldn't discourage the authors. But hey. Feedback is feedback. Even if it's negative.

Who would I recommend it to - I can't recommend a book I've rated so low.

Part 3 of 3 of a "Round Robin Writing Project.,

Books involved are: Lightening Strikes, After the Storm, and Blizzard Wedding.

Now, if you are not familiar with "round robin" writing, it's a BLAST. One writer starts the story, writes so much, then hands the story off to the next writer. There are NO RULES!!! The next writer can take the story wherever they want. When they are done, the story is passed along to a 3rd, writer, and so forth, until you run out of writers, or the story is completed. (hopefully both.)

The writers for this third book blended their ideas so well, you really can't tell where one writer ended, and another began. This story will clearly leave you wanting more, but remember, it's the first part of 3 of these sessions. All 3 books are free, and quick reads, so you don't have to feel like you have to "buy" the ending.

Now...Concerning this specific story...What a crazy way to have a wedding! Very cute ending to this tag team writing venture. The writers should do this, again.

Well written, writers! I would like to see all 3 of these short stories bundled into one book.

I didn't like this third short novella in the Lightning Strikes series as well as the other two. Just like the first two volumes, it was written round-robin style by several authors. This time it didn't seem to flow together quite as well, and there were several things that seemed too unbelievable. It was an interesting story, however, and I enjoyed it to an extent. If this had been the first novella in the series, however, I'm not sure I would have read the others.

This was a very short romance novel, written by a group of women. The bride and groom are to meet at a Mountain resort, to be wed on Valentine's Day, with just a few friends, and family members. A big storm comes up, and delays the arrival of the groom, and the parents of the groom and the bride. The groom has a car accident on his way, and breaks his wrist, and has a concussion. I have broken both of my wrists, and can't imagine getting married within a few days. It was kind of sweet, but there was not much to the story. This was a free book from amazon.

A Blizzard Wedding is a Christian contemporary romance where Luke and Rachel plan a Valentine Day wedding at a romantic ski lodge only to have a blizzard hit to make it almost impossible with the groom arriving just before the ceremony and the family almost missing it too. Rachel's cousin Ivy the maid of honor comes through to help save the day with the help of the best man. It turns out to be very romantic and special, just as weddings are supposed to be.

When i got the first book i wasn't sure if i was going to like it which i did so i went on a little hunt and got the rest which were also free, and i can't say that i was disappointed although short it compacted a lot into the book. There was adventure, a wedding (obviously) and drama which made this book a favorite i would recommend this to anyone.

What a whirlwind of wedding plans during a horrid snow storm, but it all comes together and the wedding goes off without a hitch, with no electric, they have gas for baking the cake, candles for the altar and it was a beautiful sight. It just shows us that true love can overcome bad weather.

Short little story about the trials of having a wedding during a blizzard... Aptly titled! Good character development for the small amount of writing involved.
