Magic is a rare gift, one only made possible by an invaluable stone: magiline. After he was tasked with his first official assignment, Dominai and his fellow wizards must now travel to the Crux’s sister tower in Immenbach to deliver a shipment of it.

But the road is full of trials and dangers, and not just because Thaddius’ bullying has escalated into something worse. Dominai is having strange dreams, hearing a mysterious voice that passes on a dire warning. A shadow lays over the Eastern Tower, and it will be up to Dominai and his fellow wizards to shed light on the situation and escape to tell the tale.

Left behind at the Crux, Olbric is facing his own battles. His father has threatened to disown him for being who he is. Fearing for his mother and sister’s safety, Olbric must work with Arlon to create a spell that can get them to safety if the worst happens. Yet confidential and personal information about Olbric continues to leak out of the Crux and into the Cairish ambassador’s ear. And Ambassador Feisal seems willing to stop at nothing to force Olbric home.

A storm is building, one that has the potential to destroy the balance of peace across the entire continent.

I’ll recommend this series to any and everyone who will listen. Odyssey just continued what’s already been

📕 𝗕𝗼𝗼𝗸 𝗜𝗻𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: Odyssey by Alethea Faust

📙 𝗦𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀: Sex Wizards series. Book 4.

📗 𝗥𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗗𝗲𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗹𝘀: E-book ARC on Kindle. 🆓 on KU.

📘 𝗚𝗲𝗻𝗿𝗲: Fantasy romance

📔 𝗧𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗲𝘀: Sex IS the plot, sexual fluidity, LGBTQIA+ rep

📖 𝗦𝘆𝗻𝗼𝗽𝘀𝗶𝘀: Book 4 continues the story of Dominai, an unlikely wizard, as he navigates a quest given by the Grandmaster.

🌟 𝗥𝗲𝘃𝗶𝗲𝘄: Every time a new Sex Wizards book comes out, I’m going to recommend it loudly. This series defies what good smut writing can be, and what Alethea Faust is doing here is the work of a master.

The premise of Sex Wizards began being focused on Dom, but it’s evolved into a complex web of characters and stories. And I’m not mad about it. I’m so devastatingly attached to all of these characters - Olbric as he leans into his true nature, Arlon as he shows his true colors, even Thaddeus who is a pain but has such a soft center.

If you haven’t read this series, I’m begging you to. I know people see “sex wizards” and laugh thinking it might be a gag, but it’s truly one of the best written series I’ve ever picked up.

𝗥𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴: 5/5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Welcome back to the world of kïnk & wizards. Bless Alethea for the recap at the beginning of this story. It helped me dive head first back into this story. This baby is thicccc in all the right ways!

Alethea has the rare ability to get you invested in every character you meet. The way that everyone is intertwined during the journey makes my heart happy. The characters’ complexity and growth are top tier. (Even though I wanna smack Dom around a bit)

Tensions definitely rise in this installment, but Alethea does a great job and balancing the heaviness out with moments of joy, love, and really kïnky seggs. If you’ve read anything by this author you KNOW that the spice is alwayssss spicing.

I can’t recommend this series more wholeheartedly.

✨ARC Review✨

Alethea Faust does it again with the next installment featuring the wizards of the Crux. This one takes us on a journey which has Dom traveling to the Eastern Tower while Olbric stays behind to deal with the pesky and potentially dangerous nuisance, Ambassador Fiesal.

Throughout this journey all of the wizards meet new friends and find new ways to get out of trouble (Dom in particular gets very creative with a bandit queen). All the while, Olbric gains new confidence and surety in their gender identity while figuring out how information keeps leaking out of the Crux.

This book captures the best thing about the sex wizards series and that is how much heart shines through each of the characters. Even the frenemies are complex and you don’t know whether to hate them or pity them.

I absolutely FLEW through this thicc boi. It kept me captivated and excited. One thing you can always count on for a new SW book is the spice, but we all know that. What truly makes these books shine is how much you love each and every character and how much they love each other by making a little magic together.

Don’t worry, it ends with unanswered questions, but not a big cliffhanger so we can all patiently wait like the good little readers we are for the next chapter in the Crux’s story.

I want to start off by saying I've stuck this far in the series because of the genuine talent Alethea Faust has for weaving together the magic system with kink and the lore of the world. I've become so curious about other magic that could exist in this world through the aspects of pain and pleasure that the wizards themselves aren't aware of due to how new their form of magic is within the world. That curiosity only grew as we were introduced to characters like Vanya the bard who may be a non-bloodline wizard or being a musician has access to a form of magic that hasn't been "founded" yet. I was disappointed to find that wasn’t explored much in this book. Similarly, Dom's strange powers only get stranger, but there is no satisfying answer to why that is yet.

I understand that sometimes a carrot needs to be hung off a stick, so to speak, to keep readers interested in the next book. But towards the latter half of this one, I found myself increasingly disappointed by the lack of answers and increasingly annoyed with the sex scenes. So I will talk about the bad. There seems to be a thing with erotic novels in which there is a desire to "one up" the previous sex scene by either having more sex more often or increasingly ridiculous sex. This novel seems to rely on the former more with a little in the latter. A sex scene will end, and Dom and Olbric will have a moment of communication and then go to the baths where they will have another sex scene. There was two to three chapters of no plot, just sex, that somehow ended up coming across as the most unsexy thing I have ever read towards the end of this novel. I ended up skipping scenes because of how boring it felt. I think a lot of that could have been fixed by simply cutting or fusing two scenes and adding some more dialogue between Olbric and Dom. They haven't seen each other in months; have some hand holding, deep looks in each other eyes. Genuine connection through little interactions alongside the sex. As it started to feel less like they loved each other and more like two dolls being forced into each other.

Another issue I have with this work is that there are several scenes with Olbric and Arlon talking, and I don't know why, but they sound the same. There wasn't really any indication as to who was who. Their lines could have been interchangeable. It's strange because Olbric should be more of a wise mouth, trouble making type and Arlon more straight lace, wise, and little gruff around the edges. Yet their dialogue seemed to lose all their best characteristics.

Even saying that I still genuinely enjoyed the novel. When the story turned from sex is plot to actual plot with the scenes of Dom falling off the cliff and dealing with the bandit queen become some of the spiciest content in this novel. The tension there was excellent! I also enjoy everything about Cancassi. This novel somehow made me love them more?? Like I said previously, the worldbuilding keeps me coming back for more. I look forward to the next installment.

Keeping Dom and Olbric apart for almost the entire book feels like a crime!!! I was concerned at first that this separation would make it hard for me to stay engaged because I love their interactions so much, but in spite of the separation I really loved this book.

As Dom travels across the world to the Eastern Tower with a small group of wizards to see if Diran Barclay has changed his strategy after being thwarted by the wizards of the Crux, Olbric is back home at the Crux dealing with his own issues with his family and his father’s advisor, Feisal.

Dom’s journey leads him to far off places, new characters, new magic, and new discoveries about himself. Although not a physical journey, Olbric also discovers new magics and learns a lot about his new identity and what it means for him as a wizard.

The ending wraps everything up quite nicely, while also setting up for an exciting book 5! I can’t wait to see what the future brings for not only Dom and Olbric, but also Cancassi, Galiva, Arlon, Allisande, and Thaddius.

The Sex Wizards series was a series I already absolutely loved, but this book took it to a whole next level.

I think the biggest difference this book has compared to it's others that this feels like an epic fantasy journey. An epic fantasy journey filled with amazing smutty moments. There is a lot more plot in this book that the previous installments had less off, but at no point was this negative. Honestly, it made the experience of reading this book even better. The more plot this series adds to the books, the more deeply I care about each of the characters, and in turn that makes every sexual encounter more intense and fun.

This book follows Dom on his journey towards the other tower in Immenbach. If I'm honest, beforehand I wasn't excited about the fact Dom and Olbric were going to be seprated. Their scenes together were usually one of my favorites and missing that seemed like a loss. But oh boy was I wrong. Dom had so much fun and good times with the other people in his traveling group. There were many great moments of smutty scenes that were absolutely perfect. So damn hot holy shit.
Olbric howerver... he's very alone. Gosh did that feel painful to read at first. I am so so proud of him growing in his gender identity and personally as a trans person I love it so much we're a part of his exploration. But him going through all that without Dom was so sad to see. Cancassi is a great support though and I loved them together taking care of each other. But I cannot stay silent about Arlon taking care of Olbric either. Let's just say that Arlon is PEAK DADDY and I think every sub (or switch) needs one in their live. The way he took care of Dom in previous books already had me swoon so hard, but then now with Olbric, people I am weak.

This book also had me on the edge of my seat towards the end. It really got intense and dangerous for everyone I cared about. It was a lot, but in a good way. It made me tense and want to read as fast as possible to make sure everyone I care about is safe. Moments like that can be amazing in books and I thoroughly enjoyed it in this one. The story gripped me hard and intense during the latter half of the book. The way it concluded it made it all feel so worth it and it was an amazing read.

Concluding this review it makes me want to say that with every book in this series it gets better and I start recommending it to my friends more and more.

I received an eARC and this was my honest review.

Not gonna lie, it was very painful for me to have Dom being away from Olbric, Cancassi AND Arlon for such a long time. I was very unhappy with their separation.

I found myself enjoying Olbric’s chapters a lot more than I liked Dom’s. The journey was journeying, I guess. But turns out I’m just here for the sexy wizard dynamics and beautiful kink representation, and Olbric’s chapters were FULL of that. I loved their dynamic with Arlon, I love how Arlon seemed to just instantly understand what Olbric would need to feel safe and seen, to allow themself to be taken care of and feel loved. Despite Dom and Olbric being my favorite couple for sure, I think Arlon is my favorite caster. His dynamic with Olbric is everything.

Unsurprisingly, Thaddius doubled down as a bad guy. All of the red flags I felt during books 2 and 3 were 100% justified and he can not be redeemed. I sure as hell hope they won’t try to make me forgive him. Helping out once or twice doesn’t negate all the shit he put Dom through, and I think Dom is being MUCH too generous with him. If Arlon and Olbric knew the details of what happened between them, neither of them would probably forgive themselves for “allowing” it to happen right under their noses, and Thaddius would be in a reasonable amount of trouble. I hope karma gets him good.

I’m very excited for the next book. Still hoping for a positive hypno representation, preferably with Dom, Olbric, Cancassi and/or Arlon. I also think Dom and Olbric would make an incredible team to take on taking care of the Crux when Arlon decides to retire. That might just be wishful thinking, though.

I’m surprised by how very much I loved this series.
I’m not a stranger to reading kink or lots of spice, but this one, blew a lot of other books out of the water.
Strong worldbuilding, well developed characters, awesome relationship development and character growth, emotional depth and personal struggles that felt real in a made up world, interesting plot, a wonderful (although slow coming) romance. These books have it all.

These books aren’t for everyone since not everyone are ok with free for all poly dynamics and BDSM. But if you are ok with these things - I truly recommend to read this series.

Another fantastic read

This series is always such a pleasure, in multiple ways. This newest installment seemed to turn the story in a new direction that I'm not sure about yet. Overall, it was well written with good pacing, but I feel a bit unsatisfied with the ending.

~The Prose~
This bad boy was THICC. Regardless of that, I absolutely devoured it in 2 sittings (one of those sitting may have been 10 hours long don't judge me) Our beloved cast sets off for adventure in Odyssey and while that comes with a tone shift from the previous three books it flows PERFECTLY. With the events at the conclusion of book 3 , Championship, we see the party split. We follow our beloved "Sweet Boy" Dom on his first long term assignment away from the Crux AND we follow our Premier Evoker of the Crux, Olbric keeping the home fire burning. Getting to see both POVs on the same timeline was such a treat as a reader because the differing levels of peril or pleasure each POV gave us at any given time made it impossible to put the book down.
~The Cons~
None. Absolutely None. This book can do no wrong. (except make me cry more than a few times)
~The Bon-Bons~
Per usual, Alethea Faust gives us a veritable buffet of spice and diversity. I was absolutely tickled pink to see our first foray in non-humanoid "relations" and entirely enamored getting to see Alix show the readers that folks on the Ace/Aro spectrum do not need sex to be deviously kinky. This book also addresses a curiosity of mine about casting in an emergency situation and I tell you what...I immediately went back and re-read that chapter after I finished the book. For those worried about how much shenanigans can happen when several characters are in long term conjuration spells, don't worry they do just fine <3

What a wonderful addition to the series! I love that we’re getting more lore on Dominai. I wish we had more of him and less of Olbric but that’s okay. And I really wanted Dom to apprentice Arlon!

Kinky erotic road trip novel

3.5 ⭐ still kinky, still spicy, still has really great LGBTQIA+ representation (honestly, besides the 🔥, that's probably the best part of this series). This time around you've got dual POVs of Dom & Olbric, and experiencing their different relationships with other lovers is really interesting.

Things to dislike about this novel: the plot is still really predictable, even if the magic system & this universe is unique. I found myself quite bored at times, but not enough to not finish. The ending. Don't want to spoil anything, but it was pretty unsatisfying.

Highlights: Olbric's exploration of gender, Olbric & Daddy Alrun, Alix the Super Sadist (even if his role is short & sweet), the creative spice!

Oh. My. Goodness. Books 1-3 were amazing. But this book was a freaking masterpiece. So much of everything I could've wanted, action packed, angst ridden in the perfect ways. It felt like three books in one. Alethea DELIVERED. My favorite of the series so far. I cannot WAIT for the next one to come out.

You are an enigma, aren't you?”

💘Romance: 5/5
🌶Spice: 5/5
🏃‍♀️Pacing: 4/5
🎭Plot: 5/5
🗺Worldbuilding: 5/5
😂 Humor: 5/5
👀Perspective: (1st) / Dual/Multiple POV

✨Oh gosh where do I even start? This book was everything! Odyssey was truly an adventure like no other!✨

This book balances humor and seriousness PERFECTLY! The jokes are funny and well-placed and truly had me giggling when I least expected it. Speaking of surprises, this book is chock full of them! I pride myself on being able to predict where a plot is going, and I have to say Alethea… you got me, I was shaking in my boots. 😫

🌶️The spice was iconic in this book! Anyone who knows me personally knows I never shut up about Mastery and it’s been two years since I read it. This book was on par with Mastery for me in terms of the spice but it was even better when it came to literally every other aspect of the book. The world-building is extensive, the plot is immaculate, the romance is romancing, and it’s just everything I could have wanted and more!

I love it when a book feels whole and all-encompassing. When the characters exist within the world and not for the world. I can not get enough of the world-building! This series has always felt so ALIVE because of it! 🤩

I will say I gave it a 4/5 for pacing just because of the switching POVs. It was definitely needed, but man did I scream in frustration when peril struck and I had to read a fluffy chapter before finding out what happened next.

Yet again, our resident Daddy Dom Grandmaster steals the show for me. Arlon is everything and I love him so much. I just had to mention it because I will always feel special emotions for him and I want everyone to know! 😍
With that said, this book is my favorite in the series so far. It has eclipsed Mastery in almost every way and I can not wait for Sex Wizards Book 5! As always, happy reading! ⛰🌊⚓🏝☀️

ARC review

Look, I love this whole series. Point blank stop. I happily did an entire series re-read before book 4 released. This writing and series blows any other 'smutty' series you've read out of the water. I think people might see the words 'sex wizards' and assume the books are jokey, but no. They have a solid cast of characters, who have been growing and developing for four books now, relationships that are evolving and changing, and a plot that grew by leaps and bounds in this latest installment.

I also think Alethea writes a wide array of kink (and consent!) better than any other author I've come across. While these books certainly aren't instruction guides, I think people really may get to know more about their own sexual tastes in reading them because she covers a LOT of sexual exploration. All that said, if you aren't comfortable with polyamorous relationships, every character being queer (ALL OF THEM), kink/bdsm, and 'sex IS the plot' then this series isn't for you.

This installment was especially fun to read because it follows our beloved characters along the same timeline, but in different locations. At the end of book 3, I was a bit heartbroken because circumstances were temporarily separating Dom and Olbric but it turned out to be worth it, and so good for the characters. They each grew so much, and their relationships with other characters developed too. The fast pace of Dom's literal journey with a constant introduction of new characters was so immersive - it brought out so much backstory from the characters I already knew and loved, and got me attached to new ones. Olbric's story develops just as much at the Crux, as he faces his past while figuring out what he wants for his future, and healing some emotional wounds. Galiva also really goes through it in this book, while holding down a pretty challenging leadership role among her peers.

The reveal of...everything and the following action had me HOOKED, and I was breathless until everything got resolved. And wow did we get some resolution! Some queens unapologetically got their revenge, people were held accountable, punishments were handed out, and reunions (both sexy and emotional) were had. I felt like every question I had was answered, all the loose ends were tied up and we end this book clearly moving ahead in the story in a new direction.

This has become such a welcome surprise of a series.

Before I get into the review of this book, here are some notes for those of you just stumbling upon this book who don’t know the series yet.

- It’s one of, if not the most, spicy series I’ve read.
- It’s about wizards who practice sex (in ever form) to create and store magic
- There is a storyline, and it’s actually really damn good.
- Every possible topic surrounding sex is touched on these books, nothing is taboo.
- It’s not “dark”. It’s very much in the fantasy category. Heavy things happen in the story but it’s not like a dark romance, as an example.
- Main character is a young man. There isn’t a single love interest, given what he is and what his job is. It’s an interesting scenario in a series.

Right. So, on to this book.

⭐️ Plot: 4,5/5
🌶️ Spice: 5/5
📖 Genre: Fantasy
🏞️ Setting: Fantasy kingdom (medieval vibes)
🗣️ POV: Dual
🛏️ Tropes:

- Multiple partners
- Assignment that requires a long journey
- BDSM / group play / MM / MF / MFM
- Degradation/ impact play / ropes / Anal / exhibitionism / collaring / cross dressing / knotting
- Secrets coming to light
- Found family
- Traitors within

This book focuses on both Dom and Olbric, and what transpires as they are separated for Dom’s assignment to transport the magiline to the Eastern Tower.
It is written from both their perspectives so we get insight as to what happens on the journey from Dom and then what is going on back at the Crux from Olbric’s point of view.

Usual pairings and relationships have been broken up due to the long assignment. So we see some interesting castings taking place.
Olbric and Arlon develop an interesting relationship. Likewise, Dom has many encounters on the road to the Tower.

The threat of Diran is ever present and many warnings and threats present themselves to the travelers during the trip.

Of course the danger is always close to the wizards, and it feels like the noose is tightening around all their necks.

Things transpire that cause Dom to question who he really is, casting doubt on who his mother was, why she left him and where she could be now.

The story is well paced, gripping and hot as hell.

Can’t wait for the next one.

I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review

"It's not muscle memory, not Arlon's firefighting lessons that take over. It's something else as I throw my hands up, and a spell from around my necklace flashes bright."

This book was much longer than the others, and I love that. I really dislike when books are long just for the sake of being long and this didn't feel like that at all-- I think it was necessary for just how much was packed into it.

I was nervous to read this at first because I was *devastated* that Olbric and Dom were going to be separate throughout this journey but somehow Alethea made up for it! We get multiple POV's and Olbric and Dom reference each other all the time. It managed to soothe my hurt of them being apart. Miss Faust actually ended up giving us a readers a little bit of aftercare by making their reunion sweet and spicy enough to comfort us! Lol.

I don't want to spoil anything but this was absolutely action packed. I also felt super vindicated by the way Thaddius's character was handled in this book and, in a surprising twist (if Thaddius has no haters I am dead), I actually ended up LOVING him. I definitely want more scenes with him in the future. If you're a Thaddius hater don't worry though, he gets put through the wringer first. I'm also obsessed with Matis and would loveee to see him return to the story at some point. I don't think Dom is done with him ;)

I had such a good time reading this book. It has some of everything: spice, humor, tension, drama, and action. I also really enjoyed seeing how empowered certain characters became throughout this journey. Thank you for my copy of this story. I can't wait for the next one!

Odyssey by Alethea Faust
☀️☀️☀️⛅ (3.5 rounded down)

The fourth installment of this erotic fantasy series ups the scope and stakes by splitting up the gang and sending some on the road.

This is by far the longest book in the series so far, and it (mostly) earns that page count by telling concurrent storylines at the Crux and on the road. Both storylines were decently compelling with good worldbuilding and tension. The looming magical war is a good way to build the stakes of a mostly simple sexy story, though I never truly worried about the death of any of our favourite characters and found all of the reveals predictable.

For an erotic magic system there's bound to be a hell of a lot of sex, but I felt this book had a handful that felt superfluous in the grand scheme of the novel that could have been cut or combined to tighten up the pacing (pun intended), particularly towards the end. Overall though they were good, handled consent and communication as well as always, and expanded the magic system enough to remain interesting.

At times I struggled with the dual POV and with character dialogue sounding too similar - there are certain phrases and styles of writing that felt distinct that popped up with too many main characters, so none of their voices sounded distinct enough to differentiate.

I really like the direction this series is going in - for a story that could have been nothing more than smutty fun times, Faust has worked hard to elevate it into a legitimate fantasy. With books 5 and 6 being released later this year, I'm intrigued to see where Dom and the gang end up by the final book.

Thank you Alethea for this ARC!

MY REVIEW (only very minor spoilers!!)
Oh boy I didn’t realize how much I was missing them! At first I wasn’t sure about Dom and Olbric being separated for a bulk of the book, but it was actually really interesting to see their parallel journeys and character development, and how that brought them even closer in the end. Olbric’s journey with not only gender but also trauma recovery and letting themself be taken care of by Cancassi and Arlon in Dom’s absence is so beautiful. Meanwhile, Dom got to mature a lot both in his character and in his magical skill - as always, he is my favorite slutty pansexual vers shyboy. I loved how accepting and supportive they were of one another after reuniting, and how Daddy Arlon takes care of both of his good little subs in their different ways - not a drop of toxicity in sight. And the plot was PLOTTING! The politics and lore in this series is getting so complex and big, but it’s still super manageable thanks to Alethea’s skill for “show don’t tell” world-building. Sex Wizards was the first queer indie lit I ever read, so I’ll always have a soft spot for it and it’s so lovely to see it continue to develop. This new installment feels just as exciting as book one did back in 2021, but with the added comfort now of loved familiar characters and the growing depth of their stories and relationships with one another. We’re also introduced to a handful of new side characters in this one - including a trans man, who I hope we get to see more of!

My top fantasy series of the last decade just keeps on growing!

I loved seeing the journey Dom and Olbric go on in this book. Dom in a physical sense as he journeys across land and sea to the eastern Tower to investigate possible treachery there. And Olbric as he works through his fears around his gender fluidity and his family, helped by finally submitting to Grandmaster Arlon.

The world building is spectacular.

As always, Faust takes a consent-centric approach, whilst handling some datk topics in this epic fantasy. There are content warnings at the start of the chapters they occur in, which I really appreciated for being able to judge whether I wanted to read on at that point – particularly useful when reading late at night!

I almost felt like I needed more of this book, but it's already the longest in the series by far! I could just keep reading!

In this, you'll find:
✨️Queer epic fantasy
✨️Male & AMAB genderfluid main characters
✨️Polyamory & all sorts of sexual partners, Inc. non-human
✨️Kinks, lots of them!
✨️Separation from partner
✨️Non-consensual drugging
✨️Peril and violence
✨️Coercion, dubcon, knifeplay
✨️Past traumatic injury & SA
✨️Retraumatising of r@pe survivors
✨️Torture, both physical & psychological
✨️A HFN ending with series continuing

This book series is like a giant hug for my soul!

Odyssey definitely picks up the pace. Dom is on his first assignment and this quest is full of action and of course spice. I was afraid of the separation between Dom and Olbric because I have grown to love their relationship over the course of the first three books. I am happy to say that distance does make the heart grow fonder, and I feel like both of these characters needed this space to continue their own journeys.

Dom really grew a lot as a character in this book. He is getting more powerful and more independent and really just coming into himself.

I loved watching Olbric's journey in finding themself. Olbric's journey with their gender was so well done. This may not have been an assignment, but it was still very high stakes and more complex of a story than I was expecting. It was so beautifully crafted.

This series has my whole heart. I went into this series expecting some polyamorous kinky fun stuff, and I got that, but I also got this amazingly written and complex high stakes high fantasy series. There is not other book series like this one. It is on a whole nother level and I just want everyone to go read it.

Thank you Alethea for sending me an advanced review copy of this book!

Who knew a series i picked up from a Tik tok saying it’s “Harry Potter magic school but make it a smutty and kink based magic system” would turn out to be one of the better fantasy books I’ve read in a long time.

You can tell that Faust not only cares about writing informative and safe kink scenes but also puts so much love into developing the characters and their experiences.

Faust doesn’t shy away from the hard stuff. With sex/kink comes an inherent trust. The author explores how going against that trust and ultimately tarnishing it can cause damage to the individual but utilizes that to set the grander stage for the antagonists/lore/world-building.

I tend to read fantasy/romance or smut because it gets me feeling some type of way, and don’t get me wrong, Faust gets those feelings from me too. BUT, I read this series because at its core, it’s a really well thought out and interesting fantasy story. I’m really intrigued by the revelations that took place in this installment and cannot wait to read the next!

Safe to say I've loved each of the books in this series and all the sidestories, though I must admit this and the first book have so far been my favourites. Odyssey is so different from the previous books due to us getting a double pov from two very different places with Dom on the go and Olbric back at the Crux.

The pov's also introduce very different problems each character has to deal with and explore other character dynamics well. While I love Dom & Olbric to death, it was refreshing to see more of Cancassi, Galiva, Alix, Thaddius and others (especially love having more of our Ace rep Alix).

Never did I ever imagine just how great of an epic fantasy could be with a healthy amount of kinky magic, I need more of these. There are way too many books that focus mainly on the other and while there's nothing wrong with those, I love getting my dose of fantasy with the smut🤌🏻

I'm very biased because this series is one of my favourite bookseries in a while but I think they're 200% worth reading!

**If you dont like reading queer and spicy books, this is not for you**

For everyone else, this book is by fast the best so far in the series. An absolutely stellar cast of interesting and dynamic characters. While Dominai and Olbric are our story tellers, there is still plenty of room for our cast of secondary characters to shine. I have grown an even bigger love for Cancasi and Arlon now have a special appreciation for Alix and Alis.

While there is a lot of characters and events the story is a well woven as Olbrics cloth. It is easy to follow and and very enjoyable read.

The first 60% of the book was a steady climb of intrigue and building up and then the story exploads into a rollercaster. It does leave a lot of questions unanswered meaning I will be anxiously waiting for book 5.

A specific commentary for the spice, if you like spice but get bored when the characters repeat the same thing over and over again, you will absolutely not have this problem. There is so much variety going on.

Holy crap. I was worried that, it having been so long since the last book and not in a fantasy mood lately, that I'd have a hard time getting into this. Nope. I forgot how freaking MASTERFUL Alethea's writing is. The recap in the beginning was enough to get me right back to where Championship left off, and I was immediately sucked in to the adventure. I ached, I laughed, I worried, I fumed, but mostly I was just entranced by this amazing world nearly to the point of forgetting it wasn't real. The amount of details that the author has to keep track of is staggering, and the fact that I never felt like it was info-dump-y is why I used the word masterful. I am one of those readers who visualizes books as movies in my head as I read, and everything is so vivid in there that if I were an artist I could illustrate it all without hesitation. It's... Magic.

I have a good guess what the next book will be about and I'm STRESSING but also so very very eager for it!
