Longing and Love's Legacy
Shelby Taggart and Eric Patterson have been friends since childhood. Eric is also the best friend of Shelby's twin, Kerr. As often happens, friendship turns to interest, and then turns into love. Sadly, Shelby's special gift has kept her from intimate relationships, and Eric's issues with loss and control have kept him from pursuing the woman of his heart. What happens next is part of the subject of Legacy Lost by Jillian David.
Both Eric and Shelby are not necessarily likable characters, but they are both interesting even with their ton of baggage. Ms. David did a very good job of making their relationship issues both believable and compelling. She also made the paranormal danger more sinister then the prior book.
As with the first book in the series, the over-arching danger to the Taggart family is not brought to a conclusion. However, I was happy that Eric and Shelby make decisions about their future together. If their banter and chemistry is any indication, they could have an interesting life together. That is if they survive the evil that wants to destroy them.
Content alert: This book contains swearing (secular and religious) and vulgarities (including “F” word). It also contains passionate kissing, and descriptive sexual intimacies with an erotic edge.
