One moment, I'm planning my wedding. The next, I'm homeless and heartbroken.
When my ex flaunts his new, pregnant girlfriend, I think my world has ended. Little do I know, it's about to take an unexpected turn.
Enter Gabriel billionaire, hedge fund mogul, and... my boss.
For eight years, we've been the perfect team - in the office. But when he offers me an apartment and a chance at motherhood, the lines between professional and personal blur beyond recognition.
Gabriel is all work and no play. He’s dedicated his life to what he does best - making money. I'm his ace communications officer, not a damsel in distress. Yet here he is, offering to be my sperm donor and baby daddy. It's insane. It's inappropriate. With my biological clock ticking - It's... tempting.
They say help comes from unexpected places. But this?
As the stakes rise and emotions run wild, one question Can we keep this strictly business, or are we creating something more?
I'm about to make the investment of a lifetime. The returns? Those remain to be seen.

The story was predictable. Like everything in the story was predictable. . And the same phrases and catch words were used over and over. The story dragged on and went too much in debt of obvious things and not enough of others. Example… Caleb the MMC identical twin impersonates MMC to the FMC and she can easily spot the difference. But the author skimmed through how she knows the difference but made it seem like it was a funny scenario without explaining the significance. The whole fake narrative went on way too long. And for the FMC to be the communications officer, she was terrible at communicating with her boss. It was a good story with potential but the execution was mediocre. She wants a baby, he offers to provide sperm. And lines blur. The end. Nothing happens in between. The story didn’t offer much of anything besides spice.
Okay wow >> first book by Zoe Dod and definitely not my last. I devoured this book. Leah and Gabriel were amazing, their chemistry was just so captivating. Also bonus points for the side characters because guess who wants a book for each side character? MEEEE
Both characters had so much growth and genuinely cared for each other in the most beautiful way. It was so easy to connect with them and really feel only them because of the way Zoe wrote them. Also Gabriel is definitely a new favorite billionaire boyfriend 🤍 The Only thing I didn’t like was the miscommunication between them 🫣
The storyline was absolutely beautiful. I was so invested and just wanted to keep reading.
This is a slow-burn romance with a sweet and heartwarming storyline that is easy to read. The first thing that caught my eye was that Gabriel was 5 years younger than Leah. This was interesting to read, contrary to the usual convention that the male characters are older than the female characters. It was beautiful to see how their relationship slowly developed and how they communicated to solve their problems and maturely act on them. It's kind of rare in stories. I liked the side characters and I'm definitely intrigued to read their story too. The bonus chapter was lovely to read too. It's the first book by Zoe Dod and definitely not my last. :)
I wanted to give this book a better rating. Honestly, I did. The pacing, characters, and plot were all well done.
But the sentence fragments!! The grammar was painful in SUCH a specific way. Periods instead of commas, just all OVER the place. And not in a stylistic way, but in a “I’ve genuinely got no concept of what makes a complete sentence” sort of way.
The other issue I had with it was the BFF Stella, who was constantly haranguing our poor FMC to have casual s*x with the MMC, only to turn around once the deed was done and say “I knew this was a bad idea. You’re no good at casual.” Excuse me, ma’am, WHAT?! What an absolutely awful friend! The other bff just disappeared halfway through the book, so no opinion on her.
The last 25% of the book it was like the author got tired of the MCs and decided to just switch to the other siblings. It made no sense for the story and was incredibly disappointing. This could have been SUCH a good pregnancy book if she could have only stayed focused on the actual couple! Instead, we get to 9 weeks and then…they’re done.
There were some other minor editing issues, where a character would reply to a statement that wasn’t ever said (MMC: our little peanut now, more like. FMC: and a bowling ball, soon. Although it’s not much of a secret now. Me: huh? Who said anything about a secret??). There were some inconsistencies with other side characters (miss me with whatever unholy mess is going on with Elijah, Darra, and Pen. A family that’s convinced both Darra AND Pen that they’re both pariahs? Yikes.)
Sometimes I read a book and think it’s such a mess it needs a professional editor, and I get that cost can be prohibitive. But this was so close to being good it just needed a solid, critical beta reader to point out a few things, and that’s almost worse. Because cost ISNT an issue. That’s the sort of thing people would absolutely do for free!
Anyways, up until about 80% I was so excited to have this as another pregnancy trope book to recommend, but honestly, I don’t know if I can. It’s more a book about getting pregnant than about pregnancy, and that’s something else entirely.
I don’t understand how this books so highly rated I really tried to get into it but found myself skimming the book and then realizing I was doing that at only 140 pages in I gave up. Its dual point of view but a lot of scenes I would have liked to witness like the altercation with the ex and his new girlfriend or when Gabe’s mom first drops in and sees Leah living with him all happened off screen and is just briefly mentioned in passing was a huge miss. I only gave it two stars because I like the premise with the whole fake dating but pregnancy trope unfortunately I was very disappointed.
Not sure if it continues. It was left at their baby kicking. I love the story but I guess I was hoping to see if they had twins, if they married? Or had more children. Don’t get me wrong but honestly hoping for a longer ending.
I received an advance review copy by booksirens for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
Man o man this book was so easy to read. The communication between the characters was so nice to read and how they solve they’re problems so easily. Honestly reading their little banter was kinda amusing I was smiling so much haha I really wanted to read about Elijah book but I guess I need to wait a little longer 4.75⭐️
DNF’ed at page 111. I decided to DNF because I realized I was skipping more than I was actually reading.
This books is so freaking oddly written. It’s slow in places it shouldn’t be and the author going into detail about that weirdest most mundane things. I was about to throw this whole book away because of how many freaking times Leah refers to Gabe as her boss. Literally she’s taking and goes “oh my gosh I can’t do that Gabriel is my boss… oh my boss Gabriel… my quiet boss… my boss Gabriel is so kind” like girl. We freaking get it, we’ve been here too we get HES YOUR DAMN BOSS.
I also just get annoyed with a book when the main character just go on too long narrating how much they love their girl friends / guy friends over and over again.
Okay these book titles are embarrassing me fr but in just a gurl
We all saw it coming didn’t we DIDNT WE ‘oh no my rich ex bf is kicking me out’ ‘pls stay in my spare million pound flat’ ‘oh no a freak accident the million pound flat flooded’ also you can not tell me this was based in England.
Oh my word Gabriel Frazer, swoon. He is considerate, gorgeous and a sex god. Leah a professional working woman, with a good relationship with her boss, then things get a little muddy and well delicious! I was desperate for them to do it the proper way, even then Gabriel was so considerate. This was a slow burn romance, we could see it but they couldn't.
Billionaire ✔️ Friends to lovers ✔️ Fake relationship ✔️ Sizzling sex ✔️
Oh when you find a book that delivers the goods you hunt down the authors information and sign on for life. THIS book did that for me. Gabriel and Leah have so many hurdles to jump through to get their own happy ending it makes you wonder if they will. Zoe does and incredible build and takes through all the feels to the pint your hanging on to the end holding your breath just in case … grab this book it’s a good one
“The Donor Billionaire” is the first book in Zoe Dod’s Frazer Family Billionaires series and my very first read by her—and it definitely won’t be the last. I’ve found a fantastic new author whose true British English verbiage and excellent narration made the story feel both immersive and authentic.
My biggest piece of advice is to read this series in order. It really helps you follow the Frazer family dynamics and the evolving relationships between siblings and friends as their timelines unfold. Seeing those connections build from book one adds a lot of emotional depth to the story.
Zoe Dod is officially my new favorite author, and I’m excited to continue the Frazer family journey.
Good plot, well written story. Pacing was good. It’s a dual POV, friends to lovers trope as Leah has worked for Gabriel for 8 yrs and they’re work friends. During that time, they dated other people but there’s no OW/OM drama after they finally get together.
No 3rd act breakup (yay!). Their relationship is built on a contract they made so as it develops, there’s uncomfortable conversations and awkward situations they have to address. Much like real relationships. It never felt like they had much chemistry at first. There’s no big reveal where they suddenly realize they both feel more. It’s more like a slow dawning that they’re more important to each other than they first thought. It’s a sweet story, low angst, and sometimes you just want an easy read about a romance that grows organically through friendship. Of course, there’s spice and a great HEA. I also loved Gabriel’s supportive family dynamic.
Timeline issue. Beginning of book, first chapter, Leah just went to a clinic two days prior to get tested, but in chapter 6 she tells Gabriel she and fiancé broke up just over two months ago? Doesn’t make any sense that she only just got tested two days prior if they broke up a little over two months ago and knowing it was due to her then fiancé had been cheating on her.
Leah wants to have a baby, researches it, her boss Gabriel discovers this and he approaches Leah to be the other half of that equation. Things happen and what started as purely transactional becomes more. And doesn’t take long to do so. Leah was rightly concerned about Gabriel being her boss. Was a bit hung up on him being 5 years younger than her, but not really caught up with that aspect. The him being her boss issue is addressed and things move forward between them. It gets real old real fast Leah’s constant inner thought of how she and Gabriel have no future together as a couple, their relationship just being a sexual relationship when they’ve left that notion a long time prior. He even said to her that their relationship has gone beyond being fake, that it’s not any longer. They spent a weekend in Monaco that he arranged! That was supposed to be private! There is no need to be fake when there are no eyes on you. After they got back and even said that fake is no longer present. Jaya has mother’s birthday weekend when they have dinner for the first time and he kisses her on her cheek, she says his public display of affection, surprises her, but then it shouldn’t. This is all for show. WHAT?! She’s not supposed to be a stupid woman and promised honesty. So cliche. Tired of cliche.
The oldest brother Elijah and his questioning Leah about them suddenly being madly in love with each other after her working for Gabriel for eight years? Who said anything about them being in love at any time? That was so out of place for him as a man to be saying for one thing, but to be saying at all, period. They’re dating, they only indicated they were dating. The rest of what was said by him showed Elijah to be a royal jerk but at same time maybe he was older brother looking after younger brother that the family has been worried about. Still, if Gabriel had bopped him one, it would’ve been deserved. There’s never indicated to have been an apology either. Can’t believe Gabriel allowed him to get away with that.
Overall, Leah and Gabriel are good together. Outside of Leah’s irritating inner musings instead of being the strong woman she is otherwise shown to be, Leah is depicted as a strong woman. Wish there was more showing than telling with she and Gabriel’s relationship and the serious discussion they should have had was not shown as it just didn’t happen despite written precursor to it supposed to happen.
Why would Leah tell her ex anything about her life when he lamely showed up to try to get her back? Especially telling him she’s pregnant? The only thing she should have been saying to Vincent are the things she said against him. She could have mentioned his not wanting to have children and then turning up with a pregnant mistress for the scenario to play out as it did. Her being pregnant is never anything that her ex should have had knowledge of from her.
THE GEL USED FOR ULTRASOUND IS WARMED! IT IS NOT COLD AND HAS NOT BEEN FOR DECADES! Stop writing the “sorry, this is going to be cold” line. IT IS WARMED BEFORE USE!!!!! Mini rant over.
Leah is supposed to be very close to her parents yet she leaves them out of significant life occurrences for her. She justifies it with them doing a long term travel around Australia that they’re finally getting to be on. They find out about her no longer being with her fiancé, from the former fiancé! They aren’t told about her pregnancy, everybody else knows about it, gets to know about it, and her parents are the absolute last. It absolutely did not sit well with me. It comes off as a crappy way to do her parents that she is supposedly so close with.
And the ending of their book leaves a whole lot to be desired. There’s no closure. We’re left with her still pregnant, they’re not married, and a whole drama issue that occurred, and the epilogue is about Caleb. Full star rating loss for that. I’m not sure that I want to read Caleb‘s story, because this one doesn’t really leave me wanting more.
There were some writing issues with sentence structure. There were periods where commas should have been used, which resulted in new sentences where there should not have been. And sentence says that were missing a word, so would be grammatically incorrect.
The Donor Billionaire by Zoe Dod is a heartwarming and emotionally engaging romance that skillfully blends the complexities of workplace dynamics with the tender journey toward parenthood. The story centers on Leah, a strong, intelligent woman in her mid-thirties who, after a painful breakup with a cheating fiancé, finds herself unexpectedly supported by her boss, Gabriel, a reserved billionaire hedge fund mogul.
What makes this book particularly touching is the emotional connection between Leah and Gabriel. Their relationship evolves naturally from professional colleagues to something deeply personal, marked by mutual understanding and respect. Leah perfectly complements Gabriel, appreciating his introverted, grumpy yet kind nature, and understanding his quirks without judgment. This mature and honest communication between them is a refreshing departure from typical romance tropes and adds a layer of authenticity to their bond.
Leah’s resilience and determination to pursue motherhood despite her fears create a heartfelt narrative that many readers find relatable and inspiring. Gabriel’s offer to be her sperm donor blurs the lines between business and personal life, leading to a slow-burning romance that is both sweet and compelling. The age difference, with Leah being five years older, adds a unique twist to their dynamic, challenging common genre conventions.
The novel also benefits from well-drawn supporting characters who enrich the story with their lively interactions, making the world around Leah and Gabriel feel vibrant and real.
In summary, The Donor Billionaire is a beautifully written, emotionally resonant romance that offers a fresh take on the billionaire and workplace romance genres. Leah and Gabriel’s connection is both heartwarming and genuine, making this book a satisfying read for fans of contemporary romance with depth and warmth.
She is dealt a hurtful blow by her boyfriend cheating and being a douche canoe - Vince is a spoilt brat, be gone and don’t return MOFO! Leah decides to become a mother on her own, but her boss and all-round hotty is keen to assist. In many ways.
Of course Gabriel is a workaholic who isn’t the relationship type … until he finds an intelligent and beautiful woman who has been right under his nose. Things progress, in many ways … Gabriel is hooked and I love to see it!!
Leah’s friends are awesome side characters and Gabriel’s twin brother is a cutie that seems to be hiding something.
The following are excerpts from The Donor Billionaire, written by Zoe Dod
“We’ll have professional sex, I mean clinical sex... in order to make a baby,” I say.
“You wanted me to remind you to pick up a large bag of green lentils,” I say, enjoying the flush that spreads up her neck. “Thank you,” she splutters.
“Is that what a woman really wants in the office? To be ravished over a desk?”
“Leah Walker, what are you doing to me?” He rests his forehead against mine. “I wasn’t expecting this,” he says and I feel the furrows form between his brows. “You’re like a drug. One I can’t seem to get enough of.” He exhales slowly. “I can’t get you out of my head or what it feels like to have you under me, surrounding me.”
Whatever I told the girls this evening, I know I’m in trouble. This man is so much more than I ever imagined, and I’m going to need to find a way to protect my heart if I’m to survive this.
One thing I know is Leah can’t get enough of my body. If that’s the case, I shall use every trick in my arsenal to make her crave me so much she can’t let me go, and with luck, somewhere along the way, she might even fall in love with my mind too.
“Ignore my brother. His thoughts are not mine, nor Caleb’s or the rest of my family’s. You are here as a guest of my mother and me. The child growing inside you is mine. You’re not inferior. You are a queen, my queen. Don’t let that arsehole wield any power.”
“When did you become such a bitch?” Vince spits, his eyes wide. “When I realised being a doormat wasn’t conducive to my wants and needs.”
10 tahun sama2, 5 tahun tunangan, eh ditinggalin, diusir dari rumahnya. Leah ini lagi ditahap patah hati, 10 tahun nya terbuang sia-sia. Mimpi punya keluarga dan anak terancam hanya sebatas mimpi..
Meet Gabriel, Billionaire sekaligus bosnya Leah. Dia ini antisosial, walaupun dari keluarga kaya dia gak suka sm lingkungannya yg kebanyakan fake. Diusainya yg 29 thn dia cuma gila kerja, gak suka basa-basi.
Gelisah dia, gak rela kalo Leah bakalan punya anak sm org asing. Sebenarnya mereka sm2 suka. cuma berusaha profesional.
Gabriel ini beneran orgnya pemikir, smpe udah konsultasi sm temen dekatnya, sampe satu kesimpuan dia mw jadi donor sperm nya.
overall gue suka. bacanya smpe jam 3 subuh... gue kliyengan dikantor. ditambah epilogue nya juga manies banget.. penasaran sm Elijah dan Pen. Untuk Twin-nya Gabriel, Caleb, nyusul dah.
A cute, palate cleaning read after reading too many mafia books in a row.
We follow Leah, a woman who has been cheated on by her fiancé and Gabriel, her boss of 8 years. After an altercation at a wine bar with her ex-fiancé’s girlfriend is witnessed by Gabriel, Leah’s life is once again altered in an unexpected way. Gabriel offers Leah a spare apartment he has to help her get back on her feet. When her apartment floods, he moves her into his apartment. They settle into a sort of domestic routine, which is unsettling at first for Gabriel because he is a bit awkward and not uncomfortable around people other than his twin and his family. When he discovers Leah is looking into having a baby on her own, he realizes he really likes Leah and wants to be the one she has a baby with. They agrees to a contract outlining co-parenting rules and pretend to be in a relationship to fool both their families. Except lines get crossed and blurred when they decide to try for a baby naturally after an at-home artificial insemination attempt explodes (literally) in Leah’s face. As they continue to try for a baby, they develop feelings but are afraid to discuss said feelings with each other. A few things happen (no spoilers) and their relationship is tested, but there is no third act breakup, no miscommunication, and there is a satisfying HEA.
Overall, it’s an enjoyable quick read with fun secondary characters.
💔📚 **A Story That Hit Closer to Home Than I Expected**
The Donor Billionaire* was one of those books that completely pulled me in emotionally. I can honestly say I'll be reading this one again—but probably not during that time of the month! This story had me wrapped up in my blanket, crying one minute, laughing the next, and cussing out certain characters like they could actually hear me.
What stood out most to me was how the book tackled real issues that many women face but aren't always talked about openly. The author didn't shy away from the emotional struggles, difficult decisions, and personal challenges that can come with womanhood, which made the story feel authentic and relatable. There were moments that hit a little too close to home, and because of that, the emotions felt even more powerful.
The characters felt real, flaws and all. Some made me want to cheer them on, while others had me completely frustrated—but that's what made the story so engaging. I became invested in their journeys and genuinely cared about what happened to them.
This wasn't just a romance or an emotional read—it was a story that made me feel everything. Books that can make me laugh, cry, get angry, and reflect on my own experiences are rare, and *The Donor Billionaire* did exactly that.
I loved Leah’s character and was desperately hoping for a happy ending to this one!! The brooding Gabriel, I wish we had a little more backstory on him. I know his father’s death had an impact but it wasn’t really explained or explored as to if it was the reason he is what he is. I doubt it since it happened 5 years ago and they’d known each other for 8.
Vince’s reaction at the coffee shop confuses me since it never really went anywhere but the way the scene played out and the “look in his eyes” made it seem like it would be a significant part of the story but it just didn’t… that was weird.
Caleb. Loved his character and am hoping he finds someone to match his energy.
Elijah well we shall see if I ever like that one after what he said to and about Leah.
I’m interested in possibly reading more from this author ~ depending on the price ~ since it seemed like a lot of the story was left half told. I have so many questions and no answers. I’m not sure if the author intended that or just forgot about key things that had happened and never finished. Maybe it was a fluke and her other stories are written better? I may never know.
Can’t say I recommend this book which is a shame because the basics are great but the unfinished make a reader crazy. If it’s free, like I found it I would recommend it just for reading about Leah.
A foundation of trust built over years of being platonic coworkers. That builds to love when one relationship ends and the life imagined feels like it’s slipping away for not just Leah but her family. Leading to the potential alternative dream in a new unexpected place. When the lines become blurred can it build into a beautiful life with love?
I really enjoyed seeing the story build from the beginning and the way the story ends is my favorite part. I appreciate that there’s not a dramatic ending of heartbreak and separation between the characters. It’s refreshing to not have unnecessary drama with the characters. Some parts seem to switch between British English and American English. Also, why is it not just stated they are in London or somewhere else in England it’s like walking around blindfolded describing without just stating the fact it’s located in London. Stating and describing Monaco but not London just seems to distract when Gabriel specifically is looking at the River Thames they have to be somewhere along it so just tell us where. Additionally, the flight would leave you to believe it’s London so just say what you’re talking about instead of waffling around it.
Gabriel is an introverted grump but unlike the typical grumpy characters we are used to, he isn't unnecessarily rude to the female protagonist. He's a grouch hiding a soft and kind heart. Shy since he was a young boy and the complete opposite of his twin Caleb. You can't help but fall in love with him.
Leah is strong, loyal and admirable. Despite the heartbreak of her cheating ex and the fear of never getting a chance at motherhood due to being single in her mid-thirties, she stays resilient and determined.
About the donor thing...
What's great about their relationship is how mature they are. Since the beginning they always put truth and communication first in order to avoid misunderstandings. The characters act like their age. Also it was sweet that she was five years older than him. Not the same older man, younger woman.
Leah has worked for Gabriel for 8 years. First as his PA. Now after 10 years of being engaged to Vince, he announces he's met someone else. One evening when Leah is out with her girlfriends, Vince and his new girlfriend make a scene at the wine bar and the GF announces she's pregnant. Leah rushes from the wine bar where Gabe and his twin brother, Caleb have witnessed the scene. Gabe follows her out of the bar and watches from a distance until she gets home. Now the fun begins. When he finds out she needs to find an apartment because Vince is demanding she move out in two weeks, he offers her an apartment in his building. Then, surprise, surprise her apartment floods and he moves her into his guest suite. Even though Gabe is socially awkward, he finds that he can converse with and enjoys Leah's presence in his life. After seeing her browsing history one night he offers to be her donor. And so, they enter into a mutually agreed upon co-parenting contract.
If you like a girl gets involved with her billionaire (cause they're always billionaires) boss storyline where there are explicit sex scenes and an HEA ending, you'll enjoy this one!!

This book had such a unique twist on the billionaire romance trope, and honestly… I was hooked from the start. Zoe Dod takes a situation that shouldn’t work—boss/employee, donor arrangement, blurred lines—and turns it into something emotional, messy, and surprisingly heartfelt. The FMC is coming off heartbreak and trying to rebuild her life, which made her feel real and easy to connect to. And Gabriel? Total work-obsessed, guarded billionaire… but underneath all that control is someone who shows up in ways that actually matter. That dynamic between them—professional, personal, and completely complicated—was what kept me turning pages. The whole donor/forced proximity/workplace romance angle adds so much tension. It’s not just chemistry (though there’s plenty of that 🔥), it’s the emotional stakes. Watching their relationship shift from “just an arrangement” to something deeper felt natural and earned. That said, there is some miscommunication and emotional back-and-forth that might frustrate you a little—but it also adds to the angst and payoff. And if you love a protective, slightly possessive billionaire who falls hard? You’ll eat this up.
