Each time two masters of disguise come together, they recognize each other. Stories change, names change, and still they keep running into each other. I loved how neither could keep their stories straight. It was always so much fun. My favorite part was the big fight scene at the end. It had me laughing out loud. I think my dog was worried I'd lost my mind.
These Rivenloch adventures are very exciting and interesting! Each one is so stimulating that you cannot put the story down till the end. The characters are brave and awesome. I have enjoyed reading this adventure as much as all the others. Thanks for writing such awesome adventures!!!
Once again, a story that keeps you engaged. I love this family. The characters are all full of devotion to each other and make family first. I can't wait for the next adventure. Thank you, Glynnis, for the way you weave all the pieces into a wonderful tale.

The plot moves smoothly and keeps the readers thoroughly engaged. It is an easy story to read and will keep readers turning the pages eagerly from start to finish. The romance between the characters is fun, engaging and at times humorous. Readers will enjoy the how the plot unfolds and will be rooting for the lovers. It is definitely a book I would recommend to others.
This is the last book in the Scottish historical romance of The Warrior Lairds of Rivenloch and what an exciting wondrous tale it is! The one thing Sister Eve liked about being a nun is invisibility. When Eve spots an emissary of the Pope, she is struck by how gorgeously handsome he is. The person playing the emissary is Adam la Nuit and his greatest thing about being a Rivenloch is being invisible as well. When Eve and Adam bump into each other, they both realize that they might be unseen to everyone else but not to each other. With each disguise, Adam and Eve realize how similar they are and develop a respect for each other which turns into love. The more costumes Eve wears, she can’t hide who she truly is, a nun. Adam also must tell Eve that he is of the famed Rivenloch clan, but when they both discover who they truly are, will they deny how they truly feel for each other or risk losing each other in the end?
I just enjoy reading all of these magnificent Scottish stories by Ms. Glynnis Campbell! She just weaves a beautifully well-told book that you definitely will not be bored. Her characters are amazingly three-dimensional that you can not only imagine them, but they are real life people that magically come to life! There is just so much passion, heart and emotion that you can’t help but feel along with the novel too. Also, the greatest thing is that this book can also be a standalone without needing to read the other books in the series. Of course, you will want to read the other books because of not only the delightful family of the Rivenloch clan, but even though this is the final book, I surely hope there are more, because I would like additional tales too. So, yes, this book deserves the five-star rating that I am giving it because it was just that amazing, and I was sad to see its ending, so I will be rereading it again!

Set against the turbulent backdrop of Scottish politics, the story finds six determined lairds laying siege to Perth Castle after the king’s betrayal threatens to return Scottish lands to English control. Enter Eve—a clever and courageous nun with a talent for disguise and a passion for peace. Determined to influence the outcome of the conflict, she infiltrates the fray. Laird of Smoke is a triumphant addition to the series, offering readers everything they crave: political intrigue, clever plotting, vibrant characters, and a romance worth rooting for. A must-read for fans of Highland adventure and historical passion.

Escapes, Betrayals, Disguises, Delightful Escaped to Discovering Love A history update begins this amazing journey of two completely opposite characters that will find romance and true love they never could imagine coming their way. This story is filled with the most shocking escapades you can imagine. Adam a man of many disguises that help him as a spy and Eve a nun with the same profile took me into their world and all for the sake of helping their king and country. The story is filled with hope, sadness, determination and skill. Many of these times were heartbreaking, terror filled, double-crossing and yet their love story was sweet and heartfelt that led me to a very wonderfully exciting ending. A true adventurous love story I will not forget. Book rating: 4.5 rounded up to 5 I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy for my honest thoughts and opinion.
Laird of Smoke is a charming and sweet read that offers tons of adorable moments. While I enjoyed the story’s lighthearted nature and the delightful characters, it didn’t quite reach the same high standard set by the author’s previous works. The book features a lot of predictability, with certain situations repeating and leading to similar conclusions, especially towards the end. Despite this, the back-and-forth dynamic between characters adds a touch of warmth and familiarity. The adventure and character development are very minimal. I truly loved both Adam and Eve; their personalities and interactions made the story especially endearing. Overall, Laird of Smoke is a simple, cute read that’s perfect when you're in the mood for something light and heartwarming. It may not be groundbreaking, but it’s definitely a lovable story worth experiencing.
As has been typical for my Glynnis Campbell reads, the third book has once again managed to be my favorite. Granted, this one didn’t earn 5 stars outta me, but I definitely was into it a lot more than its predecessors. What helped was, like for the other series I’ve read, this entry wasn’t tied down to the events of the first two books. It managed to deviate just enough to feel like its own story with only minor moments of connecting.
I enjoyed Adam and Eve’s interactions a LOT and found myself rather engrossed in their antics, both apart and with each other. Their dialogue was delightful and their perspectives were appealing. I did feel a bit lost on one of the plot points from Adam’s perspective as the narrative expositions often came across as long winded to me, but nothing that derailed things too much for me.
The only reasons I couldn’t grant that fifth star were nuisances, really, stuff that I just couldn’t get over. Eve’s horniness, for one thing, was very off-putting. I get a nun being swept away by desires of the flesh, and even expected it, but her horniness was such a constant that it diminished other moments in the story. Even after one heartbreaking and devastating event that SEEMED meant to challenge her newfound fleshly urges had no staying power. Seemingly significant matters thing feel cheap. I also didn’t care for the constant time-jumps. It made things feel quite rushed and at times disconnected me from the story.
All in all, though, I still had fun with this series and look forward to exploring more of this author’s work.
When Adam la Nuit of Rivenloch meets kindred spirit Sister Eve, sparks fly, though not always the good kind. While Adam uses his power of disguise to support his king, Eve has more down to earth though no less life changing “Greater Purposes,” such as ensuring great loves have the chance to marry who they choose. Deception upon deception as the two keep finding each other, builds trust and eventually an undeniable love. But will misunderstandings and the secrets they’ve kept from each other doom their relationship? Glynnis Campbell writes a wonderful, at times humorous and always light hearted story of how these two soulmates finally reach their HEA. This book was provided by the author without any requirement for a review, positive or otherwise. All opinions are 100% my own.
An Enchanting, Medieval, Scottish Romantic Adventure She’s no ordinary nun. He’s no run-of-the-mill warrior. A master of disguise meets a nun with secrets—and together, they heat up the Highlands. With names like Adam and Eve, surely, they’re meant to be. First comes adventure, followed by deception, shifting alliances, and tested loyalties. Both are on missions of justice and peace, though their goals don’t always align. I loved this story—the twists, the romance, the humor, and honestly, everything about it. If you enjoy medieval Scottish romantic adventures, don’t walk—run to get this book!
I was happy to see my FAVORITE Character from Laird of Flint, Sister Eve take center stage in a story of disguises, spies and, yes lies! Sir Adam la Nuit has his hands full, trying to stop a war. He crosses paths with Sister Eve, who is a match for him in courage and disguises. Will they ever be able to tell one another the truth, as they work toward peace and justice? Another winner in the Warrior Lairds of Rivenloch series. A fun, sweet with spice read
I love how Glynnis wove in all the Rivenloch family but at the same time you could read this book on its own and still understand the story. The disguises were perfect and so were the emotions. I felt I was right there in the book with Adam and Eve.
Glynn is always spins great stories. I recommend reading all of the Rivenloch books in order. Each focus on a different character in the clan, but reading them all allows the generational timeline to develop.
At first I was just wondering when the story would become about the coming to together of Hew and Adam saving the marriage. But suddenly it began to take on a life of its own, glad it will continue with the Rivenloch clan
I really enjoyed this read but how can you not when there Lairds, tournaments, nuns, spies, kings and adventure. This HEA with another Rivenloch was a fun treat and look forward to meeting more of the clan.
Great story of adventure and action. A easy story to read and would keep readers eagerly to get to the end. It is definitely a story i would recommend to others

I love this author’s characters and the way she weaves a story. With all of the disguises and intrigue around them, I loved reading Eve and Adam’s story.
