I've known Mathew as a reader from the Great White North, and a devoted family man with a great sense of humor, but I had no idea he was packing this much talent as a writer. This collection of short stories was surprisingly fresh and pretty darned captivating.
Big chunks of the author’s humor poke through nearly all these stories. Here be strange tales of gremlins, twisted game shows, prison breaks, and a murder mystery set in space. One wildly inventive story involved a man’s unique ability to conjure lost pets.
My favorite tale was Abandon Ship which takes political correctness to its logical and logically convoluted conclusion. This was seriously one of the funniest things I’ve read in a long time.
