Good Read

I'm really enjoying reading this series. The main character is a little weird. But in an enjoyable way. The other characters both good and bad are also enjoyable. Although the singing dancing dwarves are a little much.

Fun story but light on action

Fun and creative story. I was expecting more action but I was still entertained. The fighting chickens were funny. I smiled at the ending.

Zweit and Celestina return to school with newly minted abilities at the hands of Zelos. Celestina impresses everyone, and Zweit changes for the better. Zweit was under a brainwashing spell, so he wasn't thinking straight. It makes the third child, Croesus, jealous that he didn't go home for the break.

Whenever a slice-of-life story like this happens, there is a trope where the main character has to introduce Japanese Food into the world. Zelos is no different in that regard. All he wants to do is make Egg on Rice, or some dish I can't spell properly. To accomplish that he needs chickens, but the chickens he finds are extraordinary. All of them are powerful, capable fighters. They respect the strong, so Zelos defeats their leader and they agree to give Zelos eggs.

Zweit angers part of his faction, so a young man named Samtroll wants to kill him. The Duke gets wind of these events and sends Zelos as a bodyguard.
