The Training Grounds: Anarchy

Rate this book
The battle of the Training Grounds is over, but the war for Merchant Valley has just begun. As Bao tries to rebuild the school and attract new students, Millicent and her friends must reintegrate Darius into a drastically different world than the one he knew.

After Lincoln and Anwir receive shocking information from the Forgotten Son, events are set in motion that could prove to be more catastrophic than the creation of the reaper. While Lincoln and Anwir tear through villages in the pursuit of anarchy, Darius and his friends train for war on a scale beyond anything they’ve seen before.

Lincoln and Anwir aren’t the only threats Bao and his students need to contend with. When they learn the Eternal Council and the army of the Unified Republic are on the march, they know their time is limited.

With each group pursuing interests of their own, the foes the heroes must face have never been more numerous—or more powerful. As the final hands are played, the only certainty is that no one is safe. With the fate of everything and everyone hanging in the balance, it’s up to Darius and his friends to save the world one last time.

This was amazing. Simply amazing.

Darius, Millicent, Oakes, & Adelaide are back for the end all of end alls. Zombies, advanced weapons, armies of thousands, immortal gods- they know this will be the hardest battle they’ve ever fought but that doesn’t stop them from preparing to do what’s right and save everyone from certain chaos.

This book was written so well and the action was nonstop! All the pieces from books 1 & 2 came together so well in this last installation. I was very emotionally invested in this story and am a little sad to know it is over. I’m happy for the resolve and to know the danger is gone but I’m so sad that their stories are done. I’ve grown to love the characters very much and foresee myself reading these books multiple times just so I can see them again. This is easily one of the best series I have ever read in my life.

This is dystopian, this is SciFi, this is fantasy! Fans of Divergent, The Gunslinger, Harry Potter and The Hunger Games will adore this series. I recommend it to everyone and will honestly be surprised if “The Training Grounds” doesn’t become a household name.

The best of the series!

Definitely enjoyed all 3 of the books in this trilogy I have to say the last Is the best. The 1st in the series was Jason's 1st experience as being a published author. Amazing experience To watch the author grow His characters become more developed And his writing style emerging throughout the series.

I was left speechless at the end of this. It actually took some time to fully digest. I need go back and read through all three books again now that I can do so without all the anxiety. Clark does such a fantastic job creating the world and characters that whenever something goes wrong it's such a gut punch. I couldn't put this book down. It's the perfect payoff to a series that had me hooked almost from the start. After such an emotional investment on my part, I was pleased to see Clark deliver the ultimate payoff. I won't spoil anything, but I have to say the ending had me in tears. I'm so sad this is over but glad I had a chance to take the ride.

Wow! This kept me on the edge of my seat the entire book. So much action! I really enjoyed seeing into the past of the immortals more, who they were and how they became the way they are now. What drives their current morals, so to speak.
The battle scenes in past books were so epic, and this one was FULL of battles! Between the element wielding and the modern / futuristic style weapons, you never knew who was going to come out on top.

It's hard to say which book was the best in the series because each one had a different purpose, but I think this was my favorite. Each book in the trilogy built off the last book and got better. It was great to see everything come together and the payoff was huge. There's so much happening in this book yet it never felt confusing or overwhelming. Easily one of the best trilogies I've ever read, maybe even the best.
