It's been six years since Sara and Scott married. He had started working for an architectural firm right out of college and was building their home intending to showcase it when he started out on his own. Converting the barn built by his grandfather as his office and showroom.

Sara was teaching a group of four special-needs kids in the local middle school. She had worked hard to overcome the trauma of the past and although Amy and Luke lived five hours away now she tried to spend as much time with her best friend as possible.

Sara and her intern were getting ready for reading time when her two-way went off announcing a Code 3 and for everyone to 'shelter in place' because there was a possible threat on campus. Sara was trying to calmly get their room prepared while keeping her freak out from her students.

There was an escaped murderer on the loose. Will she ever feel safe again?

I loved this book! It is very well written and the characters are fully developed and relatable. This book can be read as a standalone, but to fully understand Sara and Scott's relationship and her trauma you really need to read this series in order. Trust me, you won't be disappointed.

The characters are recurring in this series and we get to spend more time with Scott's sister as well as some newcomers. As with the other books in this series, it is told from Sara's POV and although this is a romantic suspense I couldn't stop myself from laughing when Sara's paranoia gets the better of her - you will know when you get to that point in the book!

This book is action-packed, full of suspense and smoking hot. You can't help but to turn the pages as the hunt for this convicted felon ensues. Highly recommend!

Bleeding Heart: A Holiday Romance is the fourth book in the Sara Browne series by Tricia T. Larochelle
Sara and Scott got married six years ago, and now they are trying to put together the life that they have always wished for. Scott is working at an architectural firm, and Sara is working at a middle school with special needs students. They are building their lives together. Scott is building their dream home.
Sara loves her work and just wants a peaceful, calm life with Scott.
While she struggles at times to overcome the trauma of her past, she works hard to try and keep it in check. That is until a infamous murderer escapes, and Sara's world is turned upside down. Their small town is on high alert, and this brings Sara's trauma and emotions to the surface again.
While she struggles, she is faced with a difficult choice. Will this choice threaten her future with Scott.
Can they get through the turmoil that has once again overtaken their lives.

This book was a wonderful holiday addition to the Sara Browne series. It can be read as a stand-alone, but I recommend the entire series. This book, as with all of the books by Tricia, takes you on a whirlwind journey through emotions, twists and trauma. I not only love the main characters in these books, but the sub-characters of Amy and Luke are also amazing. I highly recommend if you want a twisty, turn of emotion's this holiday season.

Bleeding Heart - Tricia T. LaRochelle

4/5⭐️

This book was such a great read! It is the first read for this author but after reading I realized that 3 other books are ahead of this one. It can definitely be read as a standalone and I wasn’t confused in any way. This book had suspense where even I was getting nervous while reading and the romance was so good! I really enjoyed Sara and Scott’s characters even though Scott definitely made me angry with the way he handled things sometimes. Overall though I loved how much he did care for Sara. Mg heart hurt for Sara, she struggled at times but really was doing an amazing job. Amy was so great and totally had me giggling. I would definitely recommend adding this book to your tbr!

Ms. LaRochelle’s Sara Browne Series does not disappoint. Even though you can read Bleeding Heart: A Holiday Romance as a standalone, there is so much backstory to Sara & Scott’s stories, that one will definitely want to pick up the rest of the series.

It is another brilliantly written tale, drawing out every emotion you have in you. You will laugh, cry, get angry, and the emergence of a murderer escaping in the town stirs up old emotions in both Sara & Scott. The suspense is riveting, and keep you turning the pages. The romance is sizzling.

The book is unlike most Christmas romances, it has so much raw emotion, and is a suspense-filled tale with all the angst, that past traumas bring. Ms. LaRochelle teaches us that men and women share the same human qualities, and ones that we can either hold each other up, or lose all that is great. We are stronger together.

I loved each of the Sarah Browne books, each brings out a rich emotional experience in the reader. Her characters live and breathe and are stunningly real.

I highly recommend this perfectly written story.

This is another phenomenal book in a better than awesome series. I love how Sara and Scott grew and matured, but circumstances arise that may put their marriage and future to the ultimate test. This is a fast-paced book that had me devouring it from beginning to end. It was fantastic reconnecting with Sara's bff Amy and her husband Luke. I love the family unity and how everyone is there for each other. This is a beautiful book and series, and I highly recommend them all!

OMG is the first thing I can say. If you haven’t started the Sara Browne Series I highly recommend it. This series does not disappoint. Yes you can read Bleeding heart as a standalone but to understand Sara and Scott story from the beginning and everything they had to accomplish to get to were they are now. They got married 6 years ago and they just want a peaceful life. Sara works with special needs kids and Scott is an architect. You will fall in love with these characters too.

I enjoyed this story, well written and enjoyable. It's a segment of Sara and Scotts life story. However, with this being the first story about this couple that I've read, it kinda felt like a placeholder. I do however want to go back to the start of this couple's journey to learn more about their backgrounds and what made them into who they are in this story.

ARC on exchange for an honest review.

This is the third book in Sara’s storyline. This can be read as part of the series or as a standalone. Personally, I’ve only read this book, but I think the story would probably flow better if I read the other two first.

This is story follows Sara and Scott as they navigate marriage, the holidays and the stress of building their life together. Sara and Scott seem to do be doing well until the stress of an escaped convict looms.

This is an easy going winter romance with a bit of suspense mixed in! Happy reading!

"The Heart That Beats the Hardest" is a suspenseful, heart-tugging story about Sara Williams, who just wants a peaceful life with her husband, Scott. But when a notorious convict escapes, their world is turned upside down, and everything they’ve built is suddenly at risk. As the danger intensifies, Sara faces a choice that could change everything—stay with Scott or risk it all for a chance at a different future. Set against the backdrop of Christmastime, this story explores love, fear, and the strength to hold onto hope even when everything feels uncertain. A perfect read for anyone looking for a mix of tension, romance, and holiday spirit!

This book was a wonderful addition to the Sara Browne series! It had a nice mix of romance, suspense, and wrapped up beautifully. Tricia LaRochelle does a superb job of writing these characters so as to allow them to grow together by also testing their fate at the same time. This story did just that. With a convict on the loose and tensions rising, the relationship between Sara and Scott had yet more to triumph over.

Something else I loved about the book was the continuation of other side characters, such as Amy and Luke. You really got to see a little bit more into all of their lives in general as adults so it was kind of cool after a college-aged type story. Makes you feel like you’ve truly gotten to know the characters on a personal level, and who doesn’t love a good book to connect with?! I say it’s another A+! Looking forward to seeing what this author has next up her sleeve!

Bleeding Heart literally went straight to my heart. This is the fourth book in Sara and Scott’s love story. It is a fast paced holiday story that could be read as a standalone….but why would you? The first three books were Amazing!
Sara is now a special education teacher and loves her job. Scott’s working as an architect and is in the process of building their dream house. These two are madly in love and making the life they dreamed of. When something happens in their town that has everyone on alert, it is hitting too close to home. It is stirring up old memories and feelings and there are definitely some internal conflicts going on. But these two have been through a lot together and are stronger for it. As these two work on the problems going on around them they lean on each other and their families. Sara and Scott have a strong support system, family and friends that are actually more like family are definitely ready to support when needed. This book had all the feels, I laughed out loud at several scenes and I ugly cried when I least expected to. This well written book had the amazing characters we love and the supporting characters we can’t live without. I truly devoured this book and enjoyed the journey it took me on. This author never disappoints, she has a way of writing emotional stories that are inspiring then she sprinkles a little humor into them…perfect combination. As I finish each book I look forward to seeing what is to come next.
