M.W. Muse is the young adult pen name for the USA Today Bestselling author Mandy Harbin. She loves creating stories that explore the complexities of everyday relationships…with some kissing thrown in.
First, let me state that this is a great series. It really picked up towards the end of the second book, and kept going. Some parts were a bit predictable, but that happens in many books I read. I read tons of books, so I like to try to figure out what is going to happen. I knew that something was going to happen between River and Callie, although I was not expecting the whole Oracle thing. One thing I really liked about this book is that enough is settled with still leaving something open for a further book. For instance, Legacy is told that she has future sacrifices to make, and that she will have to lead a war against the titans. She wants to help River and Callie with the whole Oracle issue. The book has closed many issues such as the prophecy given about Legacy being released from the underworld, and the blood relation that may try to take her out. During this book, as soon as Zach came back into the story, I was wondering who he was in the Greek world. I had some sort of suspicion that he was some sort of god. I liked the twist about how all of Legacy’s friends were a part of the Greek thing whether they knew it or not. I liked that Callie ended up with a role in this, however her role is not fully explained. She did not ascend, but it appears her parents know about her being a nymph because of the property they purchased her. Enough ends are left loose for another book! I would be very interested in seeing where things go from here. However, there were enough ends tied up nicely that if there are no other books, I would still be pleased with how this all ended. I liked the ending of the book/series. The ending can either make or break the entire series/book. I was pleased with how everything went. Obviously Adin and Legacy were going to get married. The fact that he already had the ring made Zeus’s declaration a little easier on Legacy. Overall, it was a good read!
It started with a FREE offer with the first in the series. Free is always a good thing right? In this case, yes. I was pleasantly surprised by this author! She shares my love and desire of wanting to get through the entire series of a story without having to wait FOREVER for the next book in the series to come out. And don't even get me started on the authors who don't even FINISH a series but keep going and going and going, you get the picture.
M.W. Muse puts a spin on mythology that I hadn't thought of, it intrigued me and had me immediately downloading the other five in the series - yes, all of them - she made them all available!! I plowed through them all.
Intrigue, mystery, danger, romance (book five and six went a little more into detail with the scenes between the main character and the love interest but it definitely kept me interested!) - all of these rolled into six great books that kept my attention. I was angry with the author, frustrated, elated, and ultimately glad I read them.
Sure I would have liked to see something more with the last one - some story lines didn't seem to wrap up - could there be a spin off series?? Perhaps. This author is definitely talented enough to do that and keep me interested!
Let me start off by saying that this series is one of my favorites! Ive been so addicted to it- finished the whole series in ONE day! This book completed everything. It was nice having a spin on the mythology part and very interesting. Most loose ties were taken care of, but some still need answering. Im so sad this is the last book, but hopefully another will come out?! I seriously recommend this series to anymore ready to commit to an emotional roller coaster, a new take on greek mythology, and loves romance.
I read on the author's website that there is another book series in the works to continue the series. The way this book ended it is obvious that there had to be more books in the future. The question is "How long?" The author have no indication of a release date nor if she started writing the book. It's not even up on goodreads. I do dislike when authors make readers wait and wait and wait. That is the main reason I stopped reading books by Amanda Hockning.
I liked the series a lot, but the last book felt rushed to me... definitely felt like there could be more to the book. I am glad that the Pantheon Series will touch base with the other characters of the book.
I hope there is another one. What about River and Cali? Excellent job with the writing in this series. I think the transitions and writing style were on point. I will def be looking for any other books from this author.
This entire series kept throwing surprises at me at every turn, and they weren't bad, it made the book that much more enticing. This last book really brought the series around. However, I do wish it was continued on to find out more about Legacy and Adin.
