The book is part of the series but can be read as a standalone. There are a few mentions of the previous books but those do not confuse the readers, rather clarify some events happening in this book.
The book is incredibly well written, especially the 2 main characters- they are smart, level headed and spunky. They know when they are pressed for time to solve the mystery but also know that they need to spend time with each other.
Apart from having a good mystery, the book also brings out emotions of love, confusion and insecurities after getting married, and also some level of PTSD.
Recommended for people looking for cozy mysteries, with characters showing growth (not acting like teenagers), and a well researched plot.
I received an advance copy of the book and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
A honeymoon cruise and murder! Not what the newlyweds had in mind when they booked their trip but they will uncover the culprit and the reason why. Hop on the ship and see if you can bee Sandie and Liam to the punch. Highly Recommended.
Thanks to the author for an ARC of this book. I have chosen to write this honest review voluntarily and it reflects my personal opinion. I love this series with Sandie James as the main character, and this book follows the last when she and Liam have just married. There are great descriptions of the luxurious cruise ship they're honeymooning on, and the scenery and ports they visited, so that I felt as though I was there with them. The characters are credible, with Sandie thinking about the changes in their lives now that they're married. And not forgetting the murder mystery at the centre of it all: a good plot with interesting twists kept me page-turning throughout!
A fun and entertaining cozy mystery on a cruise ship! Sandie and Liam, newlyweds, are on their honeymoon cruise to South America, a gift from good friends. Sandie is an amateur sleuth and seems to find murder and mystery wherever they go, and this trip is no exception! She has promised Liam not to get involved in solving a murder on their honeymoon but circumstances dictate otherwise, when the rather rude and obnoxious manager of one of the top restaurants on board is found murdered. A waiter they had met the night before is accused, and tells Sandie he’s innocent. With lots of potential suspects, this took a bit of investigation, but Sandie is up to the task, with Liam’s help!
Sandy and Liam are boarding a cruise ship to celebrate their honeymoon – a gift from their friends. One day into the cruise and a body is found with a knife in his back. Turns out to be the host of one of the restaurants. A horrible man, full of himself, and abusing his power. Nobody liked him, but who hated him enough to kill him? Sandy and Liam get involved because their steward, a nice young man, is accused of the murder. As Sandy and Liam investigate, they find multiple motives and suspects. Can Sandy and Liam find the true culprit and save their steward? A fast, fun mystery full of detailed information, making you feel like you are in the middle of the story.
A very entertaining cozy murder mystery. I liked the main character Sandie who is smart, thoughtful and big hearted. Along with her husband on their honeymoon cruise, they set out to find the actual murderer of a cruise line employee. The story flowed well and is a quick read. The murder mystery was interesting with a twist to keep you guessing about the real culprit. The book is part of a series but is good as a standalone too. I have not read the complete series. Thank you to the author for a free advance reader copy. I am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
I received an advance copy of this book and am happy to leave my review as I thoroughly enjoyed it. I have read other books in the series and whilst it might be advantageous to have done so, re certain things mentioned, this story can be read as a stand alone too. I love Sandie as she's headstrong but considerate too and Liam, her new husband, is lovely. The mystery is very intriguing and not easy to solve so I was quite pleased to get to the end without solving it. I look forward to reading more in this series.
Marriage and Murder on the High Seas is book #7 in the Sandie James Cozy Mystery series by Tessa Kelly.
It’s Sandie and Liam’s honeymoon. Time to relax and be free of murders. Or maybe not. As much as they want to stay out of it, they don’t believe the main suspect did it and have to clear his name. This was a complex case but Sandie was up to the task. And she managed to have some fun while on the cruise.

This book started slowly, but stick with it, it was entertaining. An interesting premise & choice of ‘weapon’. Amateur sleuth Sandie with the help of new husband Liam, worked with the Head of Ship Security to solve the mystery. The fact that it was their honeymoon didn’t distract them from finding the truth. I received an Advanced Reader Copy from the author & I am writing a voluntary, honest review
In this story from the excellent Sandie James Mysteries series, Sandie is on a luxury South American cruise with Liam. A murder disrupts their holiday, but they're willing to spend time helping to figure things out. The plot thickens quickly, and the ending is satisfying. The way they try to enjoy their new roles in the marriage is sweet, making an enjoyable read. I received an ARC from the author but my opinion is given voluntarily.
A fantastic book with a very mysterious murder that Sandie and her honeymooning husband feel compelled to investigate. The plot is clever and unfolds in a very interesting way. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and highly recommend it!
I read this book as part of an advance reader team and am voluntarily leaving this review.
Great murder mystery set on a luxury ship. Sandra and Liam are on a honeymoon cruise around South America. Sandi has a habit of getting involved in murder cases, both she and Liam are hoping that won't be the case this time. I enjoyed reading as things were revealed a little at a time. Quite the surprise ending!
