My mother always gave the best advice. I just wish she had advised me to stay away from bull riders.
One in particular.
Connor Bennett is a walking red flag I could see coming from miles away, but I was a sucker for his rakish smile, his irresistible charm, and that world class behind always wrapped in a tight pair of Wranglers.
I told myself I’d learned my lesson when I woke up and discovered he ghosted me, leaving a note behind on the pillow where his head should have been. Unfortunately, that wasn’t true.
High emotions and too much booze during a mutual friend’s wedding lands me back in his bed, but this time I make sure I’m not the one left high and dry once the sun comes up.
Even though I can’t stop thinking about him, I convince myself I’ve worked him out of my system. However, two pink lines a few weeks later make it impossible to pretend he doesn’t exist.
We make an agreement. We’ll co-parent once the baby is born, but nothing more.
There certainly won’t be any more hanky panky.
But it turns out Connor has other ideas and wants to share more than just custody with me.
I’m trying so hard not to fall for that charm a second time, but my hormones are going crazy and he’s doing and saying all the right things.
Despite all reason, I find myself wanting to get tangled up with him all over again. I just don’t know if I should trust the bull rider not to trample all over my heart.
Born and raised around Houston, Jessica is a self proclaimed caffeine addict, connoisseur of inexpensive wine, and the worst driver in the state of Texas. In addition to being all of these things, she’s first and foremost a wife and mom. Growing up, she shared her mom and grandmother’s love of reading. But where they leaned toward murder mysteries, Jessica was obsessed with all things romance. When she’s not nose deep in her next manuscript, you can usually find her with her kindle in hand.

Nice and light, with a little angst in the first part. Hero has been for some weeks in the heroines small town, and they basically dated for weeks, until they had sex and he left the very night ghosting her for months. The heroine is not a pushover or an innocent virgin, but she feels quite hurt and humiliated that he dated her for all that time pretending to be really interested in her while he only wanted to have sex. She should have been ok with just the sex, if only he’d been honest and clear. The reality is the hero was hurt and betrayed by the two people he cared most, his mentor who dumped him as soon as he started losing (he’s a bull rider), and his fiancee who cheated on him and dumped him for the man who was winning his place. So now he’s commitment phobic. But he regrets for months what he did to the heroine and isn’t able to forget her. Months later they meet again at a wedding where he’s best man, they have a lot of sex, and he apologizes repeatedly. The heroine though, does the same thing he did, and leaves as soon as they finish, ghosting him totally. Weeks later. The hero, who’s winning again, decides to go back to her town and win her back. Guess what. She’s preggo. The hero is surprised but elated, he wants her and their child now, realizing he’s never loved his ex, while now he’s madly in love with the heroine. A bit of drama with ow making an appearance, his rival trying to poke him, the hero still being thorn between his pride and his need to prove himself to those who rejected him and the love he has for the heroine. In the end, the latter wins, and all is well. I enjoyed this one, the hero was quite awful in the beginning when he ghosted the heroine, but he never moved on and was celibate for months. The heroine is no doormat, and even if she has drunk sex with him again, she leaves him and tries to move on, which of course will not be possible but at least she was willing to try. The heroine’s stepfather is quite hilarious, when he finds out the heroine’s impregnated the heroine the scene was really worth reading. There are a lot of secondary characters, that sometimes took the focus on the main plot, but in the end it all went well and it wasn’t difficult to follow. Safe book, for once, phew!
No intimate details other than the Hero and heroine. He is a former manwhore, buckle bunnies, he reformed when he visited the farm where the heroine is and spent time there. He has a former fiancé that has left him bitter and messed up. Surprise pregnancy from ONS.
HEA. Epilogue.

Since Ivy was first introduced as a sassy little girl I have been wishing for her story and this was everything I hoped for and more!! Ivy and Connor compliment each other perfectly in this second chance romance. Connor is doing everything he can to prove to Ivy that he wants her while Ivy is doing everything she can to remain friends. Then Connor’s dedication when he finds out she’s pregnant…. SWOON!!!!
This book was aggressively Fine. It’s a contemporary, small town, cowboy, unexpected pregnancy read. It’s not bad, but there’s nothing memorable or notable about it. Reading it felt like eating a bag of potato chips: empty calories. It's not offensive enough to be 2 stars, but it's just There, a book that exists.
But, occasionally, this type of book works as a palate cleanser. So if you’re in the mood for this premise, I wouldn’t rec this with my whole chest, but it may hit the spot. It's part of a series, and it's also 2nd generation from other series, but it can be read as a standalone, you wouldn't be confused.
The hero and heroine – who were too bland and forgettable for me to remember their names – spent a few months falling for each other before the events of the story. They spent 1 night together, then the hero freaked out about having real Feelings. So he left in the middle of the night and ghosted the heroine. Now, months after that, they have to meet again at a mutual friend’s wedding. Cue the angst.
That’s a good premise. And this wasn’t angst-free, there was some. But, it didn’t dig into its premise or its angst as well as it could have. First of all, I don’t know why that first part of their relationship happened off-page. This book started its story in the wrong place – like so many books do! We should have seen their first time around play out on the page instead of just telling it about us in retrospect, to really get that angst and emotional development. Also, the hero is a playboy, and in the months after he left the heroine, he was celibate. But, she didn’t know that. And they never address that – so she THINKS he was off hooking up with other women. What’s the point of having angst from that if it goes unaddressed?
The book kept on also telling us that the heroine had a “wild” personality. We hear about her doing reckless things when she was younger. The hero comments that her house is decorated in a way that’s colorful and quirky, which suits her personality. But the book never shows this. It TELLS us she’s interesting and vibrant and wild, but she’s bland. She’s not unlikable, she’s just boring.
So anyway, if you want a small town, cowboy, surprise pregnancy read, and you liked that other popular cowboy one, Reckless by Elsie Silver, you may like this book. I also wasn’t a big fan of Reckless, and found it to be more bland than it should be – so if you loved that book, it’s possible this will float your boat.
Never a good grovel with this author… I don’t understand why she didn’t continue with the Ashland series, they looked like more interesting…
In this book there’s only childish behavior, both of them. It really bothers me when heroines end her anger towards men saying that He is a good man… well how do you know that? He literally made you think that you’re good friends, spends months seduce you, made you trust him and when he freaks you, just disappears for fucking months… yes, a really good man… By the way, he never really say sorry or explain that night to her, she feels used for months, walks like a zombie in heels for months and after that when she sees him again just more sex… Why he needs to say sorry when he have sex with you every night instead… yeah, a good man 🙄🙄🙄
They’re not YA… quite pathetic, sorry

I overall enjoyed the book. Accidental pregnancy is a trope I actually enjoy a lot. Combine that with a bull rider and I’m a goner. I do feel like the book was rushed and we didn’t get to experience the couple together much because they were on the outs with each other a lot. I wished we got to experience more of their relationship being together for more of the book.
While I’m not always a fan of next-gen stories after I’ve already loved the parents who came before, this series is just doing it for me so far! Ivy and Connor bring the knowledge that time does move on, but those who already let you share in their journey to forever are more than happy to let you take that same trip with their now-grown children. And trust me when I say that Ivy has zero regrets in making Connor work for redemption, just as Connor is all in on proving what he truly wants in this life.
These two are scorching, then ice. Or one of them is…and rightfully so. Fear of being hurt makes people do less than smart things sometimes, but the person who ran scared is not above the full grovel, the all-attention-for-you deeds, and the wretchedly uncomfortable sleeping arrangements to make sure that the person who holds their heart is safe and sound. It’s those things that make me absolutely adore Connor. And it’s the fact that Ivy doesn’t back down from honest conversations that makes me know for certain that these two are perfectly matched. Heck, once they’ve both come to the conclusion that nothing means as much as their love, the dismissal of all annoying gnats is even exactly what I’d hoped to see for them!
But while these two have found their forever, another lost theirs. And I’m already devastated for her, while hopeful that she finds another spark. I’m also hoping that we get to find it with her in the next book. I deliberately didn’t look for the “coming next/soon” info to find out because I sort of want this surprise.
Wow, I didn’t expect to love this one as much as I did. This one was shorter than the first one but honestly, it was also so good. I loved our characters and even if i’m not familiar with the unexpected pregnancy trope, i really enjoyed!
Connor Bennett is a bull rider and after taking a tumble on one of his last rides, he messes up his knee and takes time off to heal. During this time, he goes to stay at his best friend Zach’s ranch, Safe Haven Ranch. A place that gives him the peace he’s never felt before and where he also meets Ivy Young. Ivy is a fiery, redhead that immediately takes his breath away. While he’s there, he and Ivy get to know one another, and they become friends and spend one hot night together. Sadly, he leaves Ivy in the middle of the night.
A few months later, he comes back to town for Zach’s wedding and once again Ivy hops back into bed with Connor, but this time she leaves him in the middle of the night.
Then an unexpected surprise takes both Ivy and Connor by surprise, and they have to put their differences and insecurities aside and talk. Connor is determined to get back in Ivy’s good graces and prove that he can be what she needs.
Connor and Ivy have a very hot and cold, intense chemistry and attraction towards one another that I absolutely loved!! I LOVED Connor! He has a sweet and soft side and then he has an obsessive, protective and dominant side 🥵😮💨Ivy is a firecracker and a strong, independent fmc and I adore her! Normally, I’m picky with the accidental pregnancy trope, but I enjoyed the plot and how everything was laid out. I loved all of the characters, the banter, and the spice! Oh lord the spice!! 🥵 These are two very strong characters and I’m so happy they found their forever!
I can’t wait to see what else this series has in store for us!
Tangled Up With You by Jessica Prince is the second book of her Second Hope Series. We're back with the next generation and it's: OH, SO DAMN GOOD! 😍🫶🥳
Ivy and Connor spent a lot of time together... but after a very passionate night, he left her the morning afterwards. Oops! Regretting everything, Connor tries to win Ivy back... but that's easier said than done, because Ivy's just furious (but also not that NOT affected). Another night together turns into a huge surprise for them both... Will they get a second chance? 🤔
I'm a huge fan of Jessica Prince, so this book wasn't a surprise that it'd be ABSOLUTELY PERFECT! Actually I don't like the accidental pregnancy trope that much... but I guess, Jessica Prince changed my mind now! OMG! This author just knows how to make you fall in love with a guy - although he made mistakes! 🤗 Awwwwww! I can't even deal with all my feelings right now. CONNOR BENNETT STOLE MY HEART! ❤️ He's this absolutely sexy bull rider with a heart of gold. OMG... how much he cares and how much he regrets his mistakes. ❤️
Awwwww! And I loved Ivy right from the beginning because she's a really tough, young woman. Of course she can resist a sexy as sin bull rider... at first... 🤭🤭🤭
*SWOON OVERLOAD* I can't tell you too much about their story, but... OMG, it's just incredible how much the love story of Ivy and Connor touched my heart, and my soul!
If you love small town love stories with really really hot sexy times, lots of emotions, lots of swooning, lots a affection, accidental pregnancy, friendship and the like - Tangled Up With You is the perfect book for you!
Connor and Ivy had one night together, but Connor bailed and left without a word. Ivy was still angered by his actions, and they both kept their distant from each other. Months later, they are together again at Rae and Zach's wedding. Where circumstances lead to them spending one drunken night together, which results in an event that will see their lives go down a different path, which may see them overcome the mistakes of the past and unite.
Ivy and Connor were fun characters, Connor was a rugged bull rider who felt he wasn't good enough for a relationship, had been betrayed in the past and felt his only role in life was being a bull rider. Ivy was a character who was determined and was still hurting from Connor's past actions, but deep down, she still had feelings for him. I enjoyed reading whether Connor and Ivy could overcome the past and act on their obvious feelings.
I always love reading Jessica's books. The characters are amazing, and the plots are always brilliant and well written.
I was pulled right into this story. The story has secrets, pain, and heartbreak.
If you have not read the below I would recommend reading those books(s) first as they are the parents to the two in this book: Cloverleaf series (Mickey & Ben) < - Connor’s parents Love to Hate You (Hope Valley, #9) < - Ivy’s parents
This is Ivy and Connor’s story. If you read the first book in this series you met both of these two. The pull between them is strong but after he left her after one night together she was upset and a little broken. Now he is back and she decides to give him the same. But never knowing that he would keep coming back for her. After all she is the only one he wants. Can they build a future when they thought they wanted something different from what is happening? Or will they just have to deal with each other for a while as they figure out what is going to happen in the future.
Connor is a hot bull rider with a big heart & the only one he has eyes for is Ivy. When she pushes him away to work through some news, he doesn’t leave her side. Prescient in a future with Ivy.
Ivy doesn’t want to admit she is head over heels for Connor. Instead she goes through a friends phase to work out what they want.
Join us on a heartfelt love story & a few surprises along the way.
Will these two get a happily ever after?
Loved book 2 of the second hope series! Well done Jessica another great read ❤️
Another amazing read by Jessica Prince this story follows Ivy and Connor the rodeo hottie. Ivy and Connor met through friends and grew close but when Connor felt too much after their time together he ran out in the middle of the night and back to the rodeo circuit, leaving Ivy to wake up in the morning feeling like shit.
A couple of months later he's back to be the best man of his friend's wedding and still can't get Ivy out of his mind and when she gives him a taste of his own medicine and leaves him in the middle of the night, he tries everything to get her to forgive him.
I really enjoyed this story of second chance and surprise pregnancy and can't wait for the next one 😊
Connor and Ivy's story will have you cheering for them. Their relationship isn't easy but they fight for it. I liked the way everything developed. The storyline was good and I liked the characters. Overall this was a good read.
I enjoyed very much this page turning 5 star story.
Connor and Ivy got to know each other and then he ghosted her after a night of passion. Then time passed and Ivy was upset with him after seeing him again. Of course they can’t stay away from each other. Then comes a surprise.
I love this kind of storyline. I was hooked from the first page to the last one. These characters were very entertaining and had some serious chemistry. Beautifully written with a seamless plot. Bottomline this is a must read.
Although it’s a spinoff from previous series, it can safely be read as a standalone. Told in a dual POV with an HEA. I strongly recommend this story.
I was really looking forward to another book by this author because of how much I liked the first book in this series! I like the country vibe with bull riders and small towns that are typically in books like this. Unfortunately this book was a bit of a miss for me compared to the first in the series.
An issue I had with the book right off the bat is just how much mental monologues and descriptive paragraphs we get without much, if any, actual dialogue and conversation. Our two main characters and love interests don’t even have a one on one conversation until like 27% in and it’s really brief. I’m just sad we got told a lot of things that happened instead of seeing them for ourselves and reading them actually happen.
I didn’t like how sometimes when a POV changed for a new chapter, half of that chapter would just be a retelling of what already occurred through the other person’s lense. Sometimes it was nice to get tidbits but when it went past 1-2 pages I was ready for newer content. I did like the twist that occurred maybe halfway through with the couple and how it brought them together!
The ending was okay but seemed like they threw in a conflict and resolved all within 2-3 short chapters. The brief fight happened, then they were being intimate where Connor admits his love but she tells him to leave to bull ride with an injured knee if that’s what he really values, then she decides screw it and goes to him to admit her love and he decides to retire then happily ever after. The idea of this book was a great one but it’s more of a fast read without a whole lot to it.
I received a digital copy from the author of this novel in exchange for an honest review.
Tangled Up With You by the ever lovely and talented Jessica Prince is the next installment in Second Hope series. As always, I recommend reading the series in order, not only because it is amazing, but there are characters from that book that filter into this one. (It can be read as a standalone) This lovely little morsel of a book has all my favorite tropes; cowboy bull riding play boy turns heart of gold and small town romance. TUWY is a feel good romance that readers are going to love.
Hope Valley holds a special place in my heart, so when the series ended and Second Hope arrived, I was over the moon. Book one in the series (The Little Things) was the balm to heal the sting of the first series ending, Tangled Up, is the icing on the cake. Connor and Ivy are mentioned in book one, and from there I couldn’t wait to get their story.
Connor Bennet is a bull rider, after taking a tumble on one of his last rides, he messes up his knee and has to take some time off to heal. During this time, he goes to stay with his best friend Zach on his ranch in Virginia. During this time, he finds his place at Safe Haven Ranch, a quiet, homey place that gives him a peace he had never felt. He also meets Ivy. The fiery red head that takes his breath away. He spends time there, and he and Ivy get to know one another, she doesn’t treat him like the bull riding hot shot he is, they become friends, and then they spend hell of a night together. Too bad he does one of the dumbest things ever and skates out in the middle of the night, leaving Ivy high and dry.
Ivy is living her best life, she has a great family, amazing friends and a job she loves. When Connor comes rolling into town, she sees him as a confident, bull riding playboy, and against all her rules, hops into bed with him. When her worst fears come to light the next morning with an empty bed, she is cursing herself silly. She thought they had something more than a simple hook up. Determined to move on, Ivy avoids Connor like the plague when he returns for Zack and Rae’s wedding, but as they say, weddings make people sappy. One thing leads to another and Connor and Ivy are at it again.
When an unexpected surprise takes both Ivy and Connor by surprise, they both have to suck up their insecurities and talk. Slowly Connor makes it back into Ivy’s good graces, determined to make it up to her, and prove that he can be what she needs. Ivy knows that Connor is a good man, but is scared to open up to him again after last time, but with time (sexy time too) Connor proves to Ivy just how much she means to him.
Well tickle me pink Ms.JP I think this might be your saucest book yet! Connor and Ivy are a fun, slow burn romance that really gave me such joy to read. The spicy bits are definitely top tier, there is just something about a cowboy with a dirty mouth. lol Connor is by far one of my favorite characters from this new series, he is sweet and charming, but protective and dominant. Don’t get me started on the rope play and dirty talk because I could go on for days. Towards the end, when the plot is finishing up, we get to see a softer side of Connor and the way the Ivy cares for him during that time, this made the book so relatable. I can’t wait to see what else the series has in store for us. (Hopefully something with Blythe?)

Tropes: Bull Rider hero/Cowboy 🤠 Accidental Pregnancy /Strong FMC Forced Proximity/small town romance 💞 Rope Play & Dirty Talk 🪢
Ivy Young once believed that she and Connor Bennett were building something that would last... but it didn't take long for Connor to let her down in the worst possible way...
Connor made the biggest mistake of his life when he ran out on Ivy after sharing an unforgettable night together, but with every moment they now spend apart, he misses her more and more...
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Tangled Up With You was a super sexy, second chance romance read! Ivy and Connor shared a deep connection with the promise of so much more... only to have their chances implode when Connor runs scared. But it isn't long before these two will have to share the same space again, and face the feelings that they never truly got over...
Ivy was a strong, independent woman who was blind-sighted by Connor ditching her so abruptly after they spent so much time getting to know each other before sleeping together. And while she is ready to move on from her heartbreak, she knows Connor will be back on the ranch, and she needs to find a way to ignore her feelings until he inevitably disappears once again...
Connor is a renowned bull rider at the top of his game... minus a slight injury that is giving him some trouble, he is poised to prove everyone wrong who ever doubted him. But getting close with Ivy complicated his life in a way he never saw coming, and made him run away at the worst possible time... and he's regretted it ever since...
This book was a good read with some scorching hot, sexy moments! Ivy and Connor went from friends to lovers, to hopelessly attracted acquaintances... but they never were able to deny the feelings they had for each other. I really enjoyed Ivy and Connor's journey and how they came to accept the way that their lives changed for the sake of each other, and not despite each other...
I received a complimentary copy of this book for my honest and unbiased review.
This was a great read, and great addition to the Hope Valley World. It had all the elements that make my romance loving heart not want to put it down and had me wishing that there was more pages to read when everything was said and done (FYI: I’m very thankful that there is more to come in the series, so we’ll get updates!)
I adored Ivy and Connor. Ivy is a force. Sweet, snarky, Sassy with a bit of a wild streak. She is who she is and she gives as good as she gets. Connor is all kinds of charming and sweet and yes, he does have a reputation, but he definitely has reasons for it, but he’s now at a crossroads in his life in more ways than one and decisions need to be made.
Their journey is a bit of a bumpy one, but not as bumpy as I thought it would because, for the most part, they actually communicate and don’t let the other hide too long behind the walls they both have around their hearts. I loved watching as Connor showed Ivy that he was all in for her and how she acknowledged that he was more than his reputation. Their bantering was all kinds of fun, the chemistry between them was hot and they just had a great flow throughout the book, even when there was tension between them, and I’m just happy that they got their HEA in the end.
I always love diving back into the Hope Valley world and this time was no different. I love getting to know the MC’s better, but I also love catching up with all the characters that have made this world so much fun. It was awesome to see how Zach and Rae are doing as well as Hayden and Micah ~ Ivy’s parents. But then there are the ones that have yet to fall to cupid’s arrow, like Lennix and Raylan and a newbie who I hope will make another appearance down the road. So, if you love smalltown romances with a surprise pregnancy tossed in then this is a must click for you!
Tropes/Themes: Bull Rider Small town Found Family Pregnancy Second Generation What it’s about: They spent months getting to know one another, and when they finally gave into temptation and slept together, he ghosts her in the middle of the night. She should be surprised, he’s a notorious playboy and bull rider, it comes with the territory, but it hurts nonetheless. She knows she’ll have to see him, so she prepares herself for this eventual run in, but nothing prepares her for when he comes in hot.
My Review: This. Book. Slaps. Thank you so much to Jessica Prince for sending this to me, I had been looking forward to its release for about a month. I love a good pregnancy trope and the author did a fantastic job with this trope. She was creative in how she used this to set up the story, giving us a fresh take on how an unexpected pregnancy can help shape a relationship. I started the book in the afternoon and could not put it down, finishing it just around ten pm at night! It had me hooked from the first chapter all the way through to the end. This is only my second book by this author, and the first one was in my “I enjoyed it but it was just okay” category, but this one clearly shows me a strong, different side to this author, making me want to go back and read the first generation stories.
Favorite Quote: “This here is an alpha cowboy exerting his dominance. It’s something you're more inclined to see in these small towns than in the big city like you’re used to.” THIS HAD ME CACKLING
This is Connor and Ivy’s book. Connor and Ivy started out as friends they spent a lot of time with each other when Connor was rehabbing an injury. They spent one night together, and it rocked both of them. Connor so much that he bailed in the middle of the night. Ivy was hurt and angry and an angry Ivy was not good for Connor. Connor realized as did Ivy that there was more to their feelings then just a one-night stand but neither wanted nor would admit it. When Connor comes back for the wedding, he knows he wants more but he also knows he must go at Ivy’s pace, and he just hopes it is the way he wants. Ivy finally starts to realize she has more feelings, but she just knows he is going to bail just like the last time, and she decided to bail first. Connor now understands what it felt like, and he was determined to make her see that he is not going anywhere. Fast forward to the wedding and one drunken night ends up with a surprise of a lifetime. Ivy was very sick but thought it was just a virus after she passed out and scared everyone and ended up in the hospital, she found out she was pregnant! Connor was thrilled they or I should say Ivy decided they would be friends and co-parent because she was still convinced, he was leaving, and she was protecting her heart. They were doing “friends with benefits” which Ivy chalked up to her hormones from pregnancy even though she knew. This was a nice journey of discovery and letting your walls down and learning to trust.
"Charming, Heartfelt, and Unpredictably Sweet: A Small-Town Romance with a Surprising Twist!"
**Review of *Tangle Up with You: A Small Town Accidental Pregnancy Story* by Jessica Price**
*OMG, this book was *so* good!*
From the very first page, Jessica Price had me hooked with *Tangle Up with You*. The small-town setting is the perfect backdrop for the emotional rollercoaster of a steamy, accidental pregnancy romance. As always, Jessica’s writing is beautifully crafted — vivid, heartfelt, and impossible to put down.
The chemistry between the main characters is electric, and the way their relationship unfolds is just as messy and real as it is passionate. The steamy moments? *Wow*. They definitely turned up the heat, but it's also the emotional depth that really makes the romance stand out. The way the characters navigate their unexpected situation, learning and growing together, is what makes this story so incredibly touching.
As a long-time fan of Jessica Price, I’ve loved following her series, and what makes this even more exciting is the crossover between characters from her other books. It’s always such a fun treat to see familiar faces pop up, and it adds an extra layer of joy for fans of her entire body of work.
I absolutely *cannot* wait to see what’s next! If you’re a fan of small-town romance, unexpected love, and plenty of heat, *Tangle Up with You* is a must-read. Jessica Price has truly outdone herself with this one!
I remember Ivy as a sassy little preschooler in Hayden and Micah's book (Love To Hate You from the Hope Valley series), so I was happy to see her all grown up and still a bit of a wild child! (Connor, meanwhile, is the son of one of the Cloverleaf couples; I have not read that series from Jessica Prince's back catalog, so I didn't have that connection going into this book that I had with Ivy.)
We got to see the beginning of Ivy and Connor's friendship in The Little Things, as he is friends with Zach and occasionally worked on the ranch when he was in between bull riding stints. Tangled Up With You picks up after Ivy and Connor spent a wild night together -- and then he freaked out and took off without a goodbye, leaving her humiliated and brokenhearted.
Once they got over their issues, I thought that Connor and Ivy balanced each other out well. At first, I didn't like Connor all that much for ghosting Ivy. Ah, but he was burned by his ex and his mentor, and the boy has intimacy issues. When he returns to town for Zach and Rae's wedding, Ivy consumes all of his thoughts and eventually he realizes what he let go and sets out to win her back.
Overall, I really enjoyed Tangled Up With You. I wish there would have been more of Connor and Ivy together as a couple. So much of the book is the push and pull between them, him trying to make things up to her, and her keeping him at a distance because he'd already broken her heart once before. I felt like their actually being together was rushed, and I didn't get to enjoy that payoff.
I was super excited to hear from JP that Blythe will be getting a book and Tanner Fine will be coming back to town!
I received an advanced copy and voluntarily left a review.
Connor and Ivy – where do I start? I laughed, I cried, I swooned – this book really takes you through the gamut of emotions! I’m loving the second generation of Hope Valley, which is really the second generation of a lot of Jessica’s “worlds” since Connor is from the Cloverleaf bloodline. Ivy is the spitfire daughter of Hayden from Love to Hate You. While you don’t have to have read either of these series…why wouldn’t you? It just makes sense!
Back to Connor and Ivy, who are thrown together when their best friends Zach and Rae fall in love. Connor’s career as a bull rider is winding down and he has no idea what to do with himself, and Ivy is a wild child who gave her mom every gray hair she has. When sparks fly and two pink lines show up a few months later, we’re given a front row seat to Connor and Ivy’s love story. It’s not always easy, of course, but there are literally laugh out loud moments in this book. There are also a few times my heart was in my throat and I got teary, and then there were the spicy scenes. Jessica’s books get hotter and hotter and this was no exception! Every Jessica Prince book makes me look forward to the next – go ahead and one click this one, you won’t have a single regret!
