When best friends Delaney and Blake get married in order to satisfy a clause in Delaney’s inheritance, their long-ignored chemistry is suddenly so much harder to deny, especially when they travel abroad for a steamy fake honeymoon.

**

After finishing his cardiology fellowship, Blake London moves to Boston with a single hope: fix as many hearts as he possibly can…including his own. Considering the one woman he's ever loved—his best friend from medical school—got engaged to another man, he needs to move on.

But that’s easier said than done, and Delaney proves harder to escape than he expected.

Delaney Delacroix's fiancé has fallen in love with another woman. Since love was never part of their arrangement, Delaney isn't upset about it. But it does mean she can't access her inheritance until finding a replacement husband, and she must put off her dreams of founding a specialty heart clinic for patients like her brother.

In the meantime, Delaney returns home to the East coast where she stumbles into Blake, whose abrupt cross-country move had devastated her. Their unexpected reunion is shocking, as is the reveal of Delaney’s broken engagement—her fake, broken engagement. But nothing stuns as much as Blake’s reaction: he promptly steps up to the plate. Or rather, the altar.

Their decade-long friendship can survive a year of playing husband and wife…right?

In Amelie we trust👏🏽 I had the opportunity to beta read this beauty AND ARC read it and my god...I fell in love with Blake and Delaney ALL. OVER. AGAIN. If there's one thing I absolutely love, then it's a celibate hero who pines after his girl🙈 Blake was the ultimate hero and Delaney was an equally wonderful character! I absolutely enjoyed every single second that I spent reading this book - right from the marriage of convenience to the angst and spicy scenes, everything was *chef's kiss*🤌🏻 I may or may not have guessed who the next book is about (after spamming Amelie about it😂) and I'm SUPER excited to see what's next in this series🤭 10/10 would recommend this book if you like a bit of slowburn romance with all the feels and swoonworthy scenes🫶🏾

*Thank you to Amelie Rhys for providing me with an ARC!

safety squad:
- no OW/OM drama (H goes on dates because he wants to eventually get married but it never goes beyond a couple of dates - nothing sexual or anything. the h doesn't believe in marriage but suddenly gets into a fake engagement with OM which is later broken off. no actual drama tho)
- no cheating/sharing
- marriage of convenience
- celibate hero👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽 (the H mentions that he hasn't had sex since before grad school - which is when he and the h met i.e. med school)
- no virgins (it's been a few years since the h had sex)
- no manwhores
- slowburn + pining + angst
- best friends to lovers
- "it's always been you" (done right✔️)
- HEA

beta read🥰 the "it's always been you" trope actually done right👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽

꒰ 🫀꒱ 𝐩𝐥𝐨𝐭 - this book follows delaney and blake, cardiologists who’ve been best friends for a decade. delaney needs to be married for a year to get her inheritance, her family is very old-school and traditional. her ex-fiance (fake one) broke it off with her because he fell in love for real with another girl. delaney is desperate to get the money to start her own clinic, she’s very passionate about helping others and her job. since she told blake about her engagement, they haven’t seen each other in a year. he had moved to boston without mentioning it and she’s felt really lonely. she decides to move to boston as well, to be near her family. they run into each other and he offers to marry her after finding out the reason. they get a fake marriage and spend loads of time getting to know each other more. this book is smutty.

꒰ 🤍 ꒱ 𝐧𝐨𝐭𝐞𝐬 - after reading the 2nd book, i was curious about noah’s brothers, specifically blake after him freaking out after seeing delaney with her fiance at the home game. this did not disappoint, he had been obsessed with delaney ever since the first day of med school. he was so cute and the fake “my wife” scenes omg?! lowkey a slow burn on delaney’s end, she’s super oblivious. i didn’t really feel a connection to the characters in this book tho, it is a easy and fun read. 16+ (lots of spice)

────୨ৎ────

꒰ 🧩 ꒱ 𝐝𝐞𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐞𝐲 - she’s super cute & loves her job. i love her personality and how silly she is, the banter with blake is hilarious. she doesn’t want to settle down and has family issues. i felt bad for her, they expected so much and didn’t notice/appreciate her achievements. this girl went to med school and is now a working cardiologist and they couldn’t give a crap?!!! like my asian family would be screaming in joy LOL. anyways her and blake’s dynamics ever since they were in school together have always been borderline flirty. loved seeing her putting things other than work first and letting people in.

꒰ 🥊 ꒱ 𝐛𝐥𝐚𝐤𝐞 - he’s adorable lol, definitely a cinnamon roll and very respectful. he didn’t think any dirty/inappropriate thoughts of delaney all throughout their friendship, he’s a gentleman through and through. i felt so bad for him when he learned about her fiance and how she was getting married all of a sudden. imagine your longtime best friend/secret crush was getting married and they didn’t even know the guy?!! the ring OMG, guys i love reading about men in LOVE and when their down bad obsessed?!! (not in a creepy way, ew) gives me all the feels.

“there was only one woman in this world that i had imagined myself married to, and she currently had my ring on her finger.”

“i’ve only ever been attached to you, blake. i’ve only ever been drawn to you, only want to be with you, only ever want to call your on a hard day, only look for you in a crowd.’

“i didn’t know how to be in a place you weren’t. it’s because the only heart i’ve ever been attached to is yours.”

“sometimes it’s okay to let things get a little messy. coloring inside the lines doesn’t always create a pretty picture.”

Okayy, they kept it cute and classy, I like it I like it. This is exactly the kind of friends to lovers I like to see. A pathetic H pining after the h THE RIGHT WAY.

While I don’t normally like when the H waits so many years to pursue the h, in this case I actually do understand where Blake was coming from. Him respecting Delaney when she says she doesn’t want to get married and have kids (even though this changes when she starts putting herself first) goes a long way.

୨⎯ Safety Info ⎯୧

~ No cheating. No sharing.

~ No real OWD…
ׂ╰┈➤ H goes on dates to try to move on from h since she has always said she doesn’t want the same future he does. They’re all off-page before the book starts and don’t go further than the dates. He mentions he never felt right pursuing OW knowing he wouldn’t marry them because they weren’t the h.

~ Slight OMD…
ׂ╰┈➤ h is in an arranged engagement with OM for her inheritance before book starts. Nothing romantic or sexual happens with OM and their engagement is broken off because he fell in love with someone else. H thought it was real and moved away because of jealousy. Once the engagement is broken off, h moves to the same city as H and tells him the truth.

—— Celibate Hero (Hasn’t slept with anyone since meeting h)

3/5🌶️

Super proud to be part of Amelie's ARC team! This book made me super curious about it's content and I couldn't wait to read it. Thank you so much for this opportunity, Amelie!🥰

Delaney was a young cardiologist who found herself in a tough situation: she had to marry someone and stay with him for a whole year to inherit what her grandma left.

While being in medical school, Blake London was Delaney's best friend, but he moved away and didn't keep in touch. A few years later, Delaney also moved to the same town as Blake, where she did meet him again. She will find out the real reason Blake moved away and that secret will change their lives.

Because Blake found out about Delaney's situation, of needing a husband, he didn't even had to think about it and offered to help her. But they needed to be very convincing in being a real couple because there were more stipulations that they didn't know about.

I just need to say that Blake London was such a wonderful guy! He really knew how to act and what to say to win hearts. He was such a cinnamon roll, everytime looking for Delaney's happiness. Because of a past trauma, he had some awful nightmares and struggles, but that determined him to become a doctor. Also, one of these kind of nightmares gave us a really sweet scene, which I really loved and which melted my heart.

The title of the book makes so much more sense right now, after learning their stories. This was a super nice read, with multiple sweet and funny parts, some steamy ones and a couple of sensitive scenes. A great mix to make a really good book.

"Why the hell did it take two cardiologists this long to figure out the way each other's hearts worked?"

Amelie Rhys does it again!

Sometimes when I love a romance book, it's because it's "more than just a romance". And that can be really wonderful. We all love a good found family, strong sibling/parental relationships, well-written grief and healing, etc. But a lot of books try to do those things just for the sake of it and don't do it well. Amelie's books are just a romance in a way that is almost refreshing. In a way that reminds me why romance books are so great and why we don't need the word "just" in that description.

This book is a romance book. Anything that doesn't further the romance isn't included. And it's so, so well done. It's tropey but it still feels fresh somehow. The way Blake loves Delaney is the most respectful friends to lovers I've read. He knows she's the only woman he wants to be with but he's also so glad to be her friend. He's not resentful that they've spent 10 years together without her considering him a romantic or sexual prospect. He's not jerking off thinking about her or checking her out because he's not a creep! Because it's actually rude to think of someone that way when you know they don't want you to! This is something I've just grown to accept and even like in romance, when we get these hot scenes where the mmc is "fucking his fist" imagining the fmc blowing him or whatever, but Blake telling Delaney he is a grown adult who has full control over his thoughts and that if she tells him she doesn't want him checking her out he'll never do it again is so much hotter.

I love everything Amelie writes and I'm so grateful to be on her permanent arc team! Please read the other two books in this series if you haven't, they are so so good. Attached at Heart releases on January 30!

ARC REVIEW🤪

First page of the book? Yup. I was already obsessed 😭 BLAKE AND DELANEY????!!!! OMGGGG I’M SO DOWN BAD FOR THEM IT HURTS!!!!!!!

In all honesty, I’m not usually a fan of friends to lovers in general, but I’m a HUGE fan of the marriage of convenience trope. So, really, it could have gone either way. But this book? The friends to lovers aspect BLOW MY MIND! It was done so well?? I don’t know how to explain it, but Blake (even though he’s been hopelessly in love with his best friends for YEARS) always respected her boundaries whenever she said she didn’t want to get married, and never pushed her further than a friendship BECAUSE (AND I QUOTE) HE’D RATHER HAVE A LIFETIME OF THEIR FRIENDSHIP THAN ONE NIGHT IN HER BED‼️ They only ever went further when she was certain that she wanted it. He showed her a lot of quiet love and so much care and patience throughout the decade they’ve known each other. THIS MAN?! HOW CAN YOU NOT LOVE HIM??!!!!!!😭 The respect he has for this woman is absolutely incredible, it makes me LOVE HIM SO HARD IT ACTUALLY HURTS MY SOUL.💔

LADIES AND GENTLEMAN - THIS IS HOW YOU WRITE A FRIENDS TO LOVERS BOOK, TAKE NOTES! ✍🏼
I love Blake, I LOVE DELANEY, I love this series, and I love this author.

(AND WAIT CAM AND NAT???!!!!! LET’S TALK ABOUT THAT PLEASE? IT’S GIVING CHARLOTTE AND HARRY FROM SEX AND THE CITY AND IM ALREADY SO EXCITED FOR THEIR STORY OMGGGG!!🤭🤭 I NEED IT LIKE NOW)

THANK YOU SO SO MUCH TO AMELIE RHYS FOR AN ARC OF ATTACHED AT HEART ❤️ ILY AND I’LL FOREVER BE THANKFUL😘

ARC REVIEW:

“Why the hell did it take two cardiologists this long to figure out the way each other’s hearts worked?”

Attached at Heart is an interconnected stand alone in the Wildflower Series by @amelierhys.author. Blake and Delaney completely stole my heart. Their banter and chemistry throughout was phenomenal. I had to message Amelie a couple times with my reaction because it was that good. The “my wife” and “sweetheart” were swoon worthy. This marriage of convenience is done so perfectly. Definitely my favourite book for January 😍

Does the occasion call for it?
The answer is yes, always yes!

this is how to write friends to lovers. this was a definition of a warm hug, so incredibly sweet and enjoyable, with absolutely insane chemistry between the characters. the first few chapters had me doubting if i was going to love this as much as the previous two books, but i think it was just me having not read a contemporary romance in a few months, because some pages later i was hooked.

i am not usually that into books where characters are best friends, because most of the time either the shift in the relationship into more romantic one feels unbelievable or it’s a friendship that has been built mostly on lust from the beginning, with a casual conversation from time to time. here, i felt like blake and delaney really had a connection. they flirted a bit, but they were very respectful and supportive, and i loved seeing that.

one of the best elements of this book was, of course, the pining. i cannot help but love a pathetic and devoted man. blake has been in love with delaney from the start and the amount of yearning he did in this book was crazy - and i was enjoying the hell out of it. i loved that despite being in love with delaney, he was incredibly considerate about her choices and never disrespected her. with that said, it was so entertaining seeing him finding the opportunity to marry her and having no hesitation to take it.

the development of their relationship felt natural. there was a deep friendship that it was founded upon, but with mutual attraction and the few-months break they took from each other, i found the way they connected romantically believable. they really were there for each other in every way that matter. in addition to them being adorable, they were also insanely hot for each other. the sex scenes were also written very well - they were hot as fuck.

in conclusion, i still cannot believe this is a debut series for this author, considering how good these books are. every single one of them was a hit and this one is no exception. i loved it from start to finish and cannot wait for another one.

✨ARC Review✨

I had the absolute privilege to not only get an ARC copy but to also Beta read this last fall.

If you love a good "my wife" well Blake "my wife" London will deliver and meet all expectations. I'm not sure how Amelie does it but every man in this series is more down bad than the previous. Blake might have been pinning the hardest and it's not just because he's been pinning the longest. There's just so much natural chemistry from their decade long friendship that really builds the foundation for Blake's pinning. The flashbacks are everything!

There were so many times were I had to get up and pace because I was internally squealing too much reading Blake and Delaney's interactions, and I needed to get rid of that built up energy. Watching Delaney slowly put the puzzle pieces together that none of Blake's feelings were for show, was painful but the kind of pain that makes you sing "and if I get burned, at least we were electrified" *calling all my Dress girlies*.

Between the Grey's Anatomy references that had me saying "oh we got McDreamy hair. She doesn't stand a chance" and the Lizzie McGuire references that had me singing "this is what dreams are made of" this book had some heart wrenching scenes that made me glad Delaney and Blake had each other to be there no matter, what even when the other refused to ask for help.

This book is what dreams are made of so go read it!

Another banger from Amelie Rhys 🌷

Marriage of convenience x it’s always been you x longtime best friends? Yeah …. IT’S AMAZING. I was giggling and kicking my feet throughout the whole book. Blake says (and thinks) the cutest things about Delaney, and I loved his POV. That poor tortured man, he was in love with his best friend for years, but didn’t want to risk losing her since she never wanted to settle down 🥺

Delaney was so focused on her medical degree that she didn’t give romance a second thought — we love a girl boss! Watching her realize that her feelings towards Blake are more than friendly was so fun; she truly tested Blake with her flirtation, creating a delicious tension. Blake took every opportunity to say “my wife” — thank you Amelie 🙂‍↕️

If you want a fast-paced, friends-to-lovers marriage of convenience with Grey’s Anatomy vibes and a lot of spice — get your hands on this book when it’s released on January 30!

i am not reading the arc :))
HE'S ALREADY PROPOSED
blake, i can tell you are down bad... (i need to find one please amelie 🙏)
~~~~~~~~~
so, i finished. did i get this book in my inbox at 12am, and start reading it at 8am?
yes, yes i did.
did i finish it at 12pm on the same day,
indeed i did do that.
and now, it's review time baby.
-characters- :
delaney london:
i loved delaney, she was just... yes. she was strong, she was smart, and she was independent. and she was saving. now, her parents may not approve of that, but i've adopted her, and i approve. delaney was also focused on her career, and i loved that she wasn't going to let anything, even blake stop her from creating her heart clinic. delanely i love you, please come home and i will feed you all the food and wine in the world, and take you and blake back to amsterdam.
blake london:
blakey how i miss you already. i loved blake, can we tell? it was his acts of service for sure. as a person who dreams of being shown how people love me, blake had me kicking my feet. i loved his vulnerability and also how down bad this man was for delaney from the start. going to your wife at work and deliver her lunch, i now have even higher standards :O.
i loved how he was motivated to never let what happened to him happen to someone else, and that is another thing i love. i would say he is another book boyfriend, but i feel like delaney would somehow come out of the book and figure out how to give me a heart attack.
-overall-:
well, amelie rhys, you have ruined me. how will i ever find a man when i know blake london exists? will i ever recover? i loved this book with my whole heart, blake and delaney might just have to check me out for it, it's concerning. this book made me feel things. i didn't cry, because i was too busy screaming internally and giggling (and crossing my legs, but let's keep that quiet pls men!!). so, this book had a great plot, it had very positive vibes, and a healthy amount of trauma, which is my criteria for a book.
thank you so much Amelie Rhys for giving me and ARC for this book. I absolutely loved it, and have been reading your writing since it was on Wattpad, you're definitely on my must buy authors list so congrats :)!!! Here's to more books that i will be begging to be on the arc team for (and i just know the next book will be nat and cameron in my very humble opinion)!!!!
**ARC Review**
Wowee!!! Where do I even begin?
Well, I know: Blake London. The MAN that you are! Somehow he was even more feral than Julian and Noah combined and that’s exactly the energy I needed from him. Down so damn bad and with the patience of a saint playing this long game that paid off for him in the long run.
I’ll be honest, a friends to lovers moment usually isn’t my favorite but Amelie Rhys knocked it out of the park! Were there times I wanted to shake Delaney for not seeing how Blake really felt about her? Yes, but watching her realize and accept her own feelings while processing his confessions was perfectly done. And you better believe I sobbed when he told the story about the ring.
And the tension??? Lane being as possessive of Blake as Blake was for Lane??? Unmatched. The spice was SPICING and I expected nothing less.
Overall, it was just another spectacular love story written by Amelie Rhys and I can’t wait to see what she comes up with next!
This ARC was provided in exchange for an honest review. I still can’t believe I got an ARC to read this amazing book 🥹
I’m not a huge fan of friends to lovers but I loved Delaney and Blake’s dynamics! I love a good friendship and friends that support each other no matter what and they were exactly that.
My heart ached for Blake the hole book, he was so in love with Delaney and holding back. His love for her was beautiful and I loved when he got protective and possessive! I love a possessive MMC 🤭
It took Delaney a while to understand her feelings for Blake but it was amazing to see her figure it all out. She has such a good soul and all she wanted was to help people.
The banter between them was incredible, I had such a great time reading this book! I loved the characters and I loved how we got to see the characters from the previous books. I can’t wait to know who will be the main characters in the next book 👀
The tropes here were wonderfully written!! I loved their fake marriage that was not so fake and the friends to lovers!
I can’t recommend this series enough, if you love romance you need to read these books 🩵
Now I need to buy this series special editions because they are beautiful and I need to have a physical copy of these books 🥹
I had been waiting for this book for so long and when I finally got the ARC,I immediately started reading it✨
The start was amazing, first 30-40% of the book had me hooked. But then idk what happened after that, the writing just fell flat for me😭
I literally skimmed through 2nd half of the book. I felt like it was too long without any interesting thing happening in the story. I kinda hate my brain for not liking the book😔
Thank you so much Amelie for the arc of Attached at Heart, out now!
If you Google the definition of down bad it will show you Blake London's picture because goodness this man waited years upon years. He made my heart pitter patter irregularly and truly became one of my favorite book boyfriends. I loved this commitment to Delaney and his constant reassurance. Delaney is truly so sweet, and I loved seeing her have her dreams and continue to stick to them. Delaney's relationship with her brother is so sweet and I enjoyed finding out why she wants to open her own Cardiologist office. The same with finding out about Blake's past and the burden he carried with him.
The smut was insane, guys. I was gasping. Like Amelie???? Gotta say I loved everything they did, hot hot hot! Every scene was gorgeous, hot, and smutty. Blake has a mouth on him, that's for sure!
Truly loved their relationship, and when Delaney finally realized Blake's love for her, ugh so cute. And there were so many scenes that had my heart so happy! I love the London family and cannot wait to continue supporting and reading her books!
"Why the hell did it take two cardiologists this long to figure out the way each other's hearts worked?"
First of all thank you Amelie for the ARC ☺️🤍🌷
I absolutely fell in love with Delaneys and Blakes story. I absolutely devoured the book. Like two cardiologists 🫀 If I could read the book for the first time again: SIGN. ME. UP.
Like hello? Blake saying „my wife“ every chance he gets??? TAKE MY MONEY. Blake really was down bad crying at the gym cause hell man how did you survive all these years without her knowing???
I loved to read how Delaney was figuring everything out. Felt so real! I could really see myself in her.
Never read a book about marriage of convenience before but if Amelie ever writes one again I‘ll get my hands on is ASAP! And a friends to lovers too??? Just take all my money cause I live for that trope.
One thing I didn’t like about this book: my expectations are now set way too high 😝 How am I ever going to find a boyfriend if Blake London exists???
Overall the book was just a chefs kiss 😚
Would’ve devoured this book in a day but work got in the way 😐
Attached At Heart was an enjoyable read- it's lighthearted and romantic. As someone who’s a sucker for the marriage of convenience trope, this book ticked all the right boxes. The plot kept me reading late into the night.
What really stood out to me was the dynamic between the two leads. Blake fell hard for Delaney all those years ago when he met her in med school and she had no idea. It was such a satisfying journey to watch her realize her feelings and navigate the deep emotions that come with loving someone you’ve known for so long. His quiet intensity and genuine affection for her were heartwarming, and I loved that he falls first—it added so much depth to their relationship.
Overall, Attached At Heart is a wonderful blend of romance, heart, and emotional depth. The chemistry between the characters felt real and relatable, and the marriage of convenience setup only made their eventual connection feel more earned. If you enjoy a slow-burn romance with heartfelt moments and a hero who’s completely smitten, this one’s for you!
Thank you Amelie for the e-arc, once again, you’ve knocked it out of the park and I’m not entirely sure how I’m going to recover. If I had to summarise this book, it would be “men who suffer and men who yearn”—because Mr Blake ‘down bad’ London was utterly besotted with Delaney, and I absolutely LOVED it!
It had all the best tropes: marriage of convenience, it’s always been you, he falls first (and hard), best friends to lovers—and I devoured every moment of it. I was grinning, kicking my feet, completely invested in their mutual pining, and yet neither of them had the faintest clue how the other truly felt.
I honestly don’t know which London brother has my heart more at this point. This book was phenomenal, and once again, Amelie has completely knocked it out of the park. One of the best “it’s always been you” tropes done; I’m just a mush of emotions!
I also adored all the glimpses of Juni and Julian, as well as Noah and Gemma, and don’t even get me started on the rest of the London siblings. I have so many questions and theories about what’s to come! 😭🤭
Amelie’s writing is nothing short of a masterpiece; her take on friends to lovers is so uniquely crafted that you don’t just see the love grow—you feel it. It’s like you’re right there with the characters, experiencing every moment alongside them. Watching Blake and Delaney fall in love was breathtaking, and I cherished every second of it.
