I feel like I'm cursed lately because a lot of the romances I've started, I've DNF'd. Sadly, this isn't an exception.
I didn't give it enough of a shot to really get a good enough feel for it, it just wasn't my kind of writing style and the characters didn't feel right to me.
This is my fifth DNF in the past month alone. I can't trust myself with these books anymore

Perfect mix of spicy with a plot. Very captivating. Couldn't put it down!

I devoured this book in day. Monsters, Deadly Trials, Corrupt Society, Danger at every turn. This book had all the delicious components necessary for a Dark Fantasy.
Kami is a necromancer that has some abilities beyond necromancy. She lives as a common thief with her BFF. After being caught by her ruthless boss and losing her BFF at his hands; she is out for revenge.
In a world where the citizens are praying for the God of War to return to wreak havoc upon the realm it is up to Kami and her men to put a stop to it but first, they must survive a deadly competition where criminals and monsters alike must compete in order to be offered up as a sacrifice to the very God they are trying to stop.

Soul-Taker took me away! In the world of Monarchs and Monsters we find monsters that are lovers and monarchs without morals. Kami’s story brings us with her as she is pulled into ritual trials for a war god. To stay alive she is going to have to work with four enthralling men-I mean monsters-to survive the trials.
If you like strong FMCs, bloody battles, and strong plots filled with spice, this dark romance is just the book for you! With wonderful world building, witty dialogue, and a BAMF FMC, Soul-taker is a fast pace, action-packed book well worth the first read and subsequent reads. The lore continues to build in this world and the plot seems to be thickening as each standalone book, and I highly recommend reading the rest of Monarchs and Monsters series once you finish Soul-Taker!

This book is action packed with events constantly happening.
It is light on the romance part and in this story sex is being used as a commodity.
The FMC is weak and she rarely participates in any battles; normally she is being protected by her men and then when the big battle happens, it's not even her that is in control.
She denies what she is and refuses to really tap into any of her power until the 60% mark.
I found myself skimming from the 80% mark.
The world is fascinating, the creatures that inhabit the space are interesting but on the opposite side of the coin, we never really get to bond to the MC's.
I'm sure I'll read the next installment as the stories are good. I just wish we had more time to bond with the people.

This book grabbed my attention from beginning to end. It had secrets, revenge, twists, and trials.
It was filled with action, emotional times, drama, magic, and spice.
I loved Kami and her men. I liked that all of them were so different too.

Love love this book. 🤍 I regret not discovering this author sooner. I enjoyed how the author built the world throughout the book. I lost track of time while reading it.

Really good!
I'm really loving this author's books!
The first one was terrific, and this one was just as good..
It's looking like we're going to get more of a crossover in the next book. And I really can't wait.
Been finding a lot of subpar RH out lately. This really helped me out of my book slump.

That ending was kinda brutal on the feelings. I was crying there for a bit. This book had less of the funny though, it did have some funny moments. Looking forward to the next book.

I absolutely loved these two books. I can't believe these are the authors debut books, they are so well written, full of adventure, humour, love while also tackling big topics. I love the guys and Kami so much! I can't wait for the next book!!

Monsters and trials... whats not to love. This book was action packed with magic, creatures, and spice. Definitely a top notch kind of book, and a must read.

This book started quickly, and a lot happens in it. It's packed with action. The ending played with my feelings! I enjoyed the book. Nice way of writing. Definitely recommended
