I am a wife and mother of two girls, Cassie and Allie. I live in Minnesota and, yes, our winters are legendary! I believe this has a lot to do with my passion for reading and writing, which is something I'd like to make a full time career of sometime in the future. Right now my days are filled with chasing after children in my daycare but at night I chase after my dreams of becoming a popular writer. Most of my books are written with young adults in mind but I am ecstatic when I hear that readers of all ages enjoy them. It's a great motivator and pushes me to keep writing, even when I'm exhausted from wiping noses all day long!

Also writes YA books as Kristen Middleton.

Since I read 50 Shades of Grey, I have been struggling to find good steamy books. But Summer Sizzle put an end to my search! In this book, there are 3 different stories, and I assure you that they will make your blood boil! I thoroughly enjoyed the three stories, but specially, “Whose Bed Have Your (Combat) Boots Been Under" by C.J. Pinard. I think U.S. Marine Chris Ferguson stills keep me awake at night...lol! If you want a read that will make you sweat, I would totally recommend this crafty book!

Okay the first 2 books/stories are great and wish they had been longer 4 starts even for short stories. The 3 book killed it for me the story was great and I get what the author was trying to say. But I want a happy ending and that ending sucked big time. You get some invested in the couple then for it to end bad just kills it for me hate books like that this is romance give me my happy ever after if I didn't want happy ever after I would read nonfiction.

Marine. Chasing Emma by K.L. Middleton

Shameless cop, gets caught with the nurse’s panties in his hand. A great way to start a story! Chase, the cop, has a great sense of humor and the way that he can make Emma blush is alluring. The story is both sweet and spicy. Everyone’s Fourth of July should be so spectacular.

Controlled Burn by LR Potter

The story starts with a hilarious break-up scene. Anyone caught is such a circumstance should be this articulate. Kenna drops the bags of food and says,

“Well at least now you can feed the poor woman, Max. From experience, I know she’ll still be hungry after feeding on what little you have to offer.”

In the rest of the story, the Fireman, Ty, brings the heat. The story is both hot and heartfelt. What a wonderful combination!

Rush of Innocence by LR Potter

Those marines down in San Diego are definitely difficult to resist. Is it enough to have a well-built, beautiful man that: is fabulous in bed, texts and calls frequently, and flies you to Florida?

Three story compilation... war stories are not my thing... hits too close to home... I will probably try to read this again when I am sober or had a few too many. Please do not take this the wrong way. I was looking for a book for a challenge with the word SUMMER in the title, this was a very quick read but again the rating has to do with me not the author. It never takes me this long to read a book again... this was all me. TOO CLOSE TO HOME.

Chasing Emma
This story is so sweet and funny. I couldn't help but feel for both Chase and Emma. For me, this story ended way too soon. I am definitely reading more from this author. Chase is an amazing book boyfriend, I mean who wouldn't love a hot cop with a heart of gold!? The author also makes him funny and has him pulling at my heart strings at the length he goes to help his sister and protect her!

A Controlled Burn
Loved this story. A really hunky fireman, a cute love story and some past tragedy that doesn't interfere too much with the story and a happy ending after some drama. What's not to love!? There are more sexy firemen that we don't learn much about other than they have good hearts to volunteer for the calendar. Of course the hero, Ty, has the biggest heart because of his daughter, who was helped at the hospital, and organized the men to volunteer. He also doesn't want casual and continues to try to date Kenna. The author throws some drama into the book, but not too much, which I love. It also has some really funny moments that made me laugh out loud while reading (Thankfully, I was home when this happened and didn't look like a weirdo for laughing). How the author came up with the pickup lines I'm not sure, but they are definitely hilarious!

Whose Bed Have Your (Combat) Boots Been Under?
So the beginning of this story was great! You start to hope and be happy for the couple and then WHAM! The author throws things in there unnecessarily and the book was ruined for me. You fall in love with Miranda and Chris being together and not to see it happen in the end because the author made the sexy marine a jerk in the end! Not the happy ending I was hoping for. I'm fine for there to be jerks in the book that the heroine would deal with and then leave, but for the main guy, Chris, to end up being a jerk after making me like him so much was horrible. Everything was well written, but I'm just not a fan of the plot.

DUPED by the third story ... other two are pretty good.

I enjoyed the first two stories. They were sweet, hot and great romances. Then I ended up pretty ticked when some goof made the weird decision to round out those two great romances with a depressing saga. Not only is the writing very juvenile, but it turned out to be just another serial. And not even a very good romance, either. It starts out with a great hookup that turns into a decent romance, then just totally blows up.

Here's what you get in this lovely little venomous ditty: The H cheats on the h, she hooks up with another guy after breaking up with the cheater. The cheater, in the meantime, keeps dating the other girl while trying to get back with the h... and it ends with her saying goodbye to the douche. WTF?! And then the author cheerfully invited me to continue reading this fake romance story. Fat chance I'll ever read ANYTHING by this author again!

This book is made up of three short stories by the different authors with a bunch of excerts thrown in. I really enjoyed the first two stories by K.L. Middleton and LR Potter but thought the last one "Whose Bed Have Your (Combat) Boots Been Under" by C.J. Pinard was fairly awful. I mean it was really bad. Poor writing style. Flat unlikable characters. No chemistry or emotions. I'm definitely not going to read anything from her in the future. I feel bad because the first two stories would have gotten better reviews as individual books but the last story really brought down the quality of the book as a whole.

I agree with alot of the other reviewers about this book. I understood at the beginning that they were short stories and the story lines were all good, but the third book left me going "HUH?" The first two stories didn't necessarily end with definite forever after's but you got the impression they were headed that direction. With the ending of "Whose Bed Have Your (Combat) Boots Been Under" I was expecting the link to the book so I could finish the story! Very disappointed!

Um wow. First off i found all 3 stories lacking. They were fairly simple and lust at first sight. A simple one. night hook up turning into a lovely romance. Lots of emotional feelings developed without telling the reader.

The third book. Um huh no happily ever after? This is romance the h is not cheated on .

Sizzling and hot are the words that come to mind! I loved the characters and the authors writing style. It is a fun and wild read that got my libido going. A recommended must read for erotica lovers.

This was a freebie. I enjoyed the first two stories, both entertaining. The last one, not so much, it seemed to just stop in the middle of the story.

I really liked all the books in this collection but all 3 left me wondering what happened to the couples. I hope one day all 3 authors finish the stories
