....."he's hurrying away so he can pretend he doesn't see" that tore me up and it was just on the first page. Hawk, your pain and your generosity moved me beyond belief. I love this series, and all are great reads. Hawk made my chest hurt in so many ways, good and bad. Cailyn is an oncology nurse. To all you nurses out there thank you! I lost my dad to cancer and my husband and I both had our own run with it, I met a few nurses like Cailyn. Cailyn goes with Roberta and Amy on their bucket list as they deal with cancer. A trip full of joy turns horrifyingly bad. All they endure is heart wrenching, especially when you realize this could be reality for someone, somewhere, today. Roberta, bless your soul. Hawks tenacity leads to a breakthrough in the search and ultimately they rescue Cailyn and get her back to the states. She has her own form of PTSD and Hawks past helps her to deal with this. But its not over. I highly recommend you read this book, better yet read the series. Each character feels like someone you know. I wanted to reach through the book and comfort them, all of them. I applaud their strengths, their perseverance, and I absolutely loved the melding of their two wounded souls. Thank you for another remarkable book Jo Chambliss, You move me to tears, you make me laugh out loud, you make me care about the atrocities in the world today. Thank you!
