Spending a lifetime in the SEALs can teach a man a lot about himself. Getting shot several times trying to protect a pregnant woman can change a lot of the things you think you know… if you survive.

Commander Timothy “Stone” O’Reilly did survive and now knows that he wants more from this life than a successful career and his ten-year marriage to the intelligent and beautiful Dr. Cassidy O’Reilly. He wants the family he’d never desired before. Finding out that nearly losing him has made Cass feel the same way, the two decide it's time to make a baby.

With Tim recovered enough to return to his men, life is as good as it can be and about to get better with the thought of becoming a father. That is until a close friend and former SEAL teammate ends up dead under suspicious conditions.

No one knows why Bishop was targeted until the killer decides to play a game with the two remaining members of the long-time trio, Commander O’Reilly and CEO Dillan “Warden” Knot.

Invoking the name of a SEAL that died seventeen years ago, Bishop’s killer uses his vast reach to cast all of Tim's world into chaos before making his final move.

Tim soon finds out that he’s the target on a chess board full of power players determined to destroy him. And if the enemy can’t get to Stone O’Reilly, they’ll gladly start picking off everyone else in the commander’s life. Beginning with Cass.

No one is safe, not Dillan Knot and not the commander's hand-picked squad of seals, the Wendigos.

This is a Steamy Romantic Suspense, and this is the 9th and Final book in the Navy SEALS series. This is one of the books I was most excited to read this year, and I was so excited yesterday when I got approved for an e-ARC of this book I had to pick it right up. WOW... this book is the best ending for this series, and I cannot wait to get pulled into the spin off series. This book was full of action and suspense from the beginning, and of course it had some really steamy times in this book. I loved the characters. My only wish is that the characters from the past books showed up more in this book. The end of this book was just one action pack suspenseful times after another, but it worked so very well. I have really enjoyed this series so much, and I loved getting to know all the characters in these books. I was kindly provided an e-copy of this book by the publisher or author (Jo Chambliss) via NetGalley, so I can give an honest review about how I feel about this book. I want to send a big Thank you to them for that.

The last books in any of this authors series always fill me with mixed emotions because it’s the end of such an amazing journey with characters that we will then have to move on from, though JC is amazing at bringing them back for “bit parts” (Spoiler alert - Pantera make an appearance here…) so hopefully……

(hint hint…Clothespin and his team seem lonely!!!!)

I’m so so pleased we get O’Reillys book, he has been so integral to the story and I do love a couple that are already together as the time usually devoted to developing a relationship isn’t needed and boy does the author use this spare page space to effect here. I think this might be the book with the most intimate scenes in this series, the first few chapters are rife 🤣.

Picking up not so long after the end of the last book we waltz right into O’Reilly and Cass’s relationship and get an intimate understanding of how they “fit” as a couple. I loved hearing about how they got together and learning more about Cass, she has been another hugely supportive character throughout of both O’Reilly and the team wives and seeing her strength was amazing to read. How she supported him so quietly and they just allowed each other to be who they needed to be and were so in tune…sigh!!! And how he had given her the skills she needed throughout their marriage to defend and save herself. No TSTL women here, just a super strong team wife fully capable of being her own saviour.

A book with multiple facets, we get to see and love their marriage/relationship in depth, we hear more detail about an event that was kind of covered before in Fadeproof (you don’t have to have read this book, it won’t impact your enjoyment but reading it will absolutely enhance it as the whole series is amazing) that comes back with teeth to bite hard, moments where you fear the worst for characters you have grown to love and all the emotions as you turn the pages.

I also liked how we got more background pertaining to O’Reilly that will feed into the next series. Knox and his team have popped up before with enticing breadcrumbs being laid but this book more than ever really set the scene and gave some great clues of things to come.

I’m so very much looking forward to the new series, even though letting the Wendigo team go is bittersweet at the same time

Wow, this was a great read. Heartbreaking, uplifting, exciting, passionate. Lots of applicable adjectives. Normally, I don't like stories told in the first person (here, alternating between Cass and Tim) because I prefer to be an observer rather than so close inside a character's head, but I couldn't put this book down.

From the blurb, I thought the romance part would be a second-chance one, with the focus being on a couple that's drifted apart. Nothing could have been further from the truth. Cass and Tim are both fully devoted to each other. Moreso, they have enormous faith in each other, and they show great respect for the other's professional abilities. It's been a while since I've read a novel where the hero and heroine were so perfectly suited.

The nonstop action is incredible too. I've read a lot of so-called suspense novels lately where the suspense is milquetoast at best. Jo Chambliss really delivers here, seeing each element of suspense through without feeling the need to embellish. Anything graphic (suspense, action, or romance) is integral to the plot. The only issue I had--and it's on me--was keeping track of all the secondary characters. As the purported last book in the series, this book brings back a lot of previous characters and references to their stories. The characters refer to each other by nicknames, surnames, or first names--depending on the speaker--and I didn't always know who was where and in what condition. I hadn't read any part of this series until now, so I just had to go with it. Series readers will love it though.

I received an ARC of this book for free from the publisher and Netgalley. I'm writing this review voluntarily, and it reflects my honest opinion. Thanks!

Thank you to NetGalley, the publisher and author for this eARC.

This is my first read by Jo Chambliss and after reading the blurb for this book I thought it looked like my kind of read, and it definitely was. I think the author has a great way of connecting with her readers through her characters and writing and I was drawn into the story straightaway. I loved Cass and Tim as the two main characters here, and liked that the story was told through their perspectives. They find themselves targeted following a friends death and when Cass is kidnapped Tim is determined to bring her home at all costs with the help and support of his colleagues and friends. This book is so very well written, I think it has a very good and believable plot line, it flowed really well and had the best ending in my opinion. I didn’t realise there are 8 books before this which I will definitely look to read when I can and based on how much I enjoyed this read I would also look to reading future books featuring some of the characters mentioned in this one. I thought the book had the perfect amount of action, thrills and suspense with romance thrown in as well. There wasn’t anything I didn’t like about this book and would recommend to those who like military, action packed thrillers with a romance element as part of the story. I love finding a new author that I can add to my list and look at her previous books and future ones when I can.

Once I read the opening as to how Tim and Cassidy first met, I was hooked! Navy Commander Timothy “Stone” O’Reilly has been married to Dr. Cassidy Emerson O’Reilly for the past ten years. Tim has finally recovered from being shot on his last mission, a mission that almost ended his life. They knew that their demanding careers would take up much of their lives, but is it time to share their love with a little one? When his close friend and fellow SEAL is murdered, he and his team will find out who has taken their friend, no matter how long it takes. It seems the murder may have something to do with a previous mission from years ago, but why now after all this time? When Cassidy barely escapes a kidnapping, was this a random event or is someone using her to get to Tim? Danger will stalk them, but the people after them have no idea who they are dealing with. Tim will kill anyone who harms her and Cassidy has been trained in self-defense by one of the best as they head towards a final confrontation. I received an advance review copy at no cost and without obligation for an honest review. (paytonpuppy)

Tim and Cass have been married for 10 wonderful years. They have both been career focused but after Cass almost lost her husband things have changed. She is ready to have a baby and Tim feels the same way. Things start happening to the people Tim loves, including his wife. When they discover notes being left for him he starts to figure out what is going on and he is determined to do so before anyone else gets killed. He refuses to give up until he gets his wife and friends back on US soil safe and happy. This was an amazing end to this stellar series! I was given an ARC, through NetGalley, in exchange for an honest review.

It’s with mixed emotions that I’m leaving this review as I know this is the last book in the series and I’m sorry to see it end as I have so enjoyed this series and each of the characters. This one was no different in that it’s non stop action and enough romance given the story line. This one was with Commander Timothy and Cassie. The two together were perfect together and I highly recommend not only the book but the whole series as you’ll be hooked like I was! I received an advanced copy and I’m leaving this review voluntarily.

Action, Suspense and Romance throughout the book. Loved from beginning to end Cass and O’Reilly were my favorite characters by far from this series. I loved the chemistry between them and the compassion Cass showed for her husband. It was sad to see the series end but I will follow this author to the next book or books she decides to write

I was a little disappointed by the fact that all we get is a very tiny glimpse of how they met but nothing else. And she spent most of the first meeting between them asleep.
Otherwise it was a pretty good book. It definitely had plenty of action. I can't wait until Jo Chambliss puts out another series!

BULLETPROOF is the ninth and final instalment in Jo Chambliss’ contemporary, adult WATERPROOF: Navy SEALS erotic, romantic, military suspense series focusing on the US Navy SEAL Team two aka Wendigos. This is Commander Tim ‘Stone’ O’Reilly and his wife Dr. Cassidy O’Reilly’s story line. BULLETPROOF can be read as a stand alone but I recommend reading the series in order for back story and cohesion as a number of the events in the current timeline are as of a direct result of events in several of the previous instalments. BULLETPROOF picks up several weeks after the events of book eight FOOLPROOF.

WARMING: Due to the nature of the story line premise including graphic violence, there may be triggers for more sensitive readers.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Cass and Tim) BULLETPROOF follows in the aftermath of a shooting that left our hero, Commander Tim O’Reilly struggling to survive. Weeks in recovery find Tim returning to base only to be told one of their own, James ‘Bishop’ Stoddard, had died, and a suspicious note reveals it was murder. As Tim and the NCIS begin an investigation, there is an attempted abduction of Tim’s wife Dr. Cassidy O’Reilly, an abduction linked to Bishop’s murder, an abduction that will not be the only try. With Cassidy serving with Doctors Without Borders, Tim quickly realizes his wife is no longer safe when Cassidy becomes the victim of yet another abduction. As Tim and his fellow SEALs do a search and rescue for the woman he loves, the investigation begins to reveal a seventeen year old betrayal and vendetta, one in which the entire team has been targeted in an effort to take down the man in charge. What ensues is the search for Cassidy O’Reilly, the rescue of several members of Commander Tim O’Reilly’s SEAL Team two, and the take down of the people responsible for destroying so many lives.

The relationship between Tim and Cassidy has already been established but the author reveals some of the background about how they met. Years have past, both have become successful in their fields, and our couple must decide about their future going forward. The $ex scenes are intimate and passionate without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.

There is a large ensemble cast of colorful, and energetic secondary and supporting characters including most of the members of Team Two: Skin, Judge, Dallas, Ink, Hawk, Wrench, Bandaid, Fish, Devil, as well as the return and introduction of a group of private military contractors including Sadie Phelps and Aaron Hosfeld.

BULLETPROOF is a story of betrayal and vengeance, power and control, obsession and misdirection, death and destruction, family and love. The fast paced premise is intriguing, detailed and raw; the romance is seductive; the characters are powerful, dangerous and strong.

As soon as this book popped on NetGalley I asked for it. However I did not read it till 9/22. I held off and procrastinated. Ending of a series that made me laugh and cry. Filled my heart with joy and anguish. How was I supposed to open this knowing it was all coming to and end? I actually started with the very first book, first series Ranger Mind that extend to this series, Waterproof. I opened this book with trepidation. Right out of the gate Jo pulled me in. The first time meeting with Cass - winner. Made me smile and also taught me things! I loved getting to know Cass who has popped in through out the series. Absolutely adore her, her strength, her awareness and her perseverance. If you have read this series, getting to know the Commander (sorry - that's who he is to me, how I think of him) is a win. His love for Cass, his bond with Dillan his love for his teams. This book had a lot of steam and in detail, a little more than I like but that's my personal preference. It actually reminded me of all the steam in her very first book, Remember me. This book has something for everyone and man oh man when we get closer to a resolution Jo reached through the pages, grabbed my intestines and twisted them. Than we get the final resolution and realized what really happened all those years ago. Just wow. This is a fast paced military romantic suspense that leans a little towards erotica shreds your heart, makes you snot cry and still reminds you of what family is and teaches you about judging and self awareness. Thank you for the arc. I freely volunteer my thoughts and opinions. #bulletproof #jochambliss #author20 #hoverpress #netgalley

This is book nine in The Waterproof : Navy Seals Series and it is Tim ( Timothy ) and Cassie's ( Cassidy's ) Story and omg it is definitely a must read. Wow Wow Wow this book had your emotions all over the place with everything that was happening and what they were all going through and I was in tears so many times and I felt like I was there with them living through and feeling all there pain and I couldn't put this book down as the storyline pulled you in right from the start and kept your attention throughout and it kept you on the edge of your seat while holding your breath wondering what would happen next and if they would all get out alive. Tim and Cassie had such a strong connection and chemistry that was so hot and intense that you could feel it sizzling off the pages and my heart broke with everything that the team had to go through wondering if they would all make it back to there family's alive and I loved the strength and dedication that every seal showed and that is what makes them the best of the best and put everything on the line regardless of the situation that they find themselves in because they are family and stick together and always have each other back. Jo Chambliss is an amazing author and writer and the depth of her story's are what makes you go back time and time again to read her book's and she certainly knows how to keep her reader's attention and I can't wait to read more of her book's in the future.

I Voluntarily Reviewed a Copy of This Book.

This is book 9 in the Waterproof:Navy SEALs series and as someone who hasn't read all the books in the series, I feel like there were things I missed by not reading them. In this one you get the Commander, Tim, and his wife Cassie's story. After nearly dying, Tim has come home and decided that he needs to focus more on his marriage and starting a family with his wife. Neither had ever had a desire to think about children before, but now they know that it's something they want. But danger has followed the team and now they have to figure out who is after them before it's too late.

I really enjoyed this book. Tim and his wife have been together for a long while but they still have that caring and chemistry that just makes a good relationship. They truly love each other and want what is best for each other and their family together. There was a lot of emotion and action involved with their story that kept me engaged and reading from start to finish. I loved how everything played out and came together. My only drawback is that I didn't read all of the previous books or any interconnected books, so sometimes I felt a little lost of who some people were. But that is truly my own fault because I thought it was a standalone. And the book is good enough that I have the others on my TBR pile now, so I can go back and read them all and understand much more!

There is nothing worse than coming to the end of a series that you have loved and it was with more than a little trepidation that I started this latest book in a wonderful series. Would the end justify the entire series or would I be left hanging I should have known better once again Jo gave me the perfect end The perfect mix of suspense drama and romance the perfect way to tie up story lines and a book that I couldn't put down

Cass and Tim (the commander) have been together for over ten years and both are career orientated but when she almost loses him Cass starts to think about wanting a family But Tim has never shown any interest in a family will her decision tear them apart or bring them closer together Meanwhile danger is circling a danger he never saw coming Can he his team and his wife survive what is about to descend on them You will have to read to see

I really enjoyed this book, but we jump from him meeting Cass (a doctor) to them living together and him getting shot. Maybe I missed something, but I didn't read whey he was shot off duty. Then cass goes with Doctors without borders where she's kidnapped. The team goes in to help and several in the team are critically injured. Can't believe Bishop was murdered. The book was really sad for me, Cass, I don't know, to me she doesn't take in consideration of Stone's feelings, and Stone for a commander seems awfull needy to me. HEA though. I just reviewed Bulletproof by Jo Chambliss. #Bulletproof #NetGalley

This is an action packed romantic suspense that had me hooked from beginning to end! I really liked how the story revolved around a more seasoned couple – this was not a first meet story. I loved how both main characters were strong, both mentally and physically, yet were able to express softer emotions too. There were steamy scenes but not gratuitous. Tim’s teammates show up in this story (they have their own stories), but their presence is only enough to help with the action. You don’t need to read their stories to understand their roles. What an exciting end to a series!

I received a free copy from Netgalley. This is my unbiased review.

The ninth and final book in the series and it picks up where the last one left off, the commander is shot and now he is recovering. Not that simple for you to get a look back at how they began as a couple and what he is going through as he is recovering. He is thinking about his career, talking to his wife about wanting to have a child which he never wanted before, so many thoughts and changes and along the way, he realizes he is still being sought out and then must find out who it is and why. This book had so many parts and was a fantastic story and a good way to end the series, very much worth the read. I received this book fromNetgalley.com

A great end to this fantastic series

What a brilliant story! An absolute roller coaster of a ride, as soon as you felt one crisis was averted another popped up. I have loved this whole series and this book rounded it off nicely with having the opportunity to meet some of the characters from previous books. This book would work really well as a standalone as well! Now I just need to wait to find what Jo has got planned next!

I could not put this book down. Cass and Tim love one another desperately from almost the first moment that they met. So for them to have to go through what they've gone through and are going to have to go through in this story is both tear jerking and rallying.

Read this adventure and love story and have a few tissues ready.
