Picking right up from where
False Start
ended, Lisa Suzanne has us jumping right back into book three of
Vegas Aces: The Playbook
series.
Fair Catch
continued to focus on the relationship shared between Travis and Victoria.
However in this case, we actually got to see the official start of something new, as Travis and Victoria’s relationship set us upon the path that allowed it to flourish and head in the direction of them becoming a real couple. Given their interactions beforehand were smaller, more distant and few and far between with no sense of a real direction, especially with their constant back and forth, pushing and pulling going on.
In reading
Fair Catch,
you could see this time round there was more progression with Travis and Victoria, the distance closing by pulling them to one another through better communication and expression of their emotions and feelings to one another. All the whilst juggling their struggles that they opened up about to each other at times to move forward.
Though it wasn’t all smooth sailing for the couple, since the whirlwind that was the relationship took you on an even more erratic ride at times, considering what went down.
Ultimately resulting in some major shocking surprise twists, upping the ante in keeping you guessing, whilst holding on tighter from every page turn.
Other than the spotlight on Travis and Victoria, we also got to see more of Travis’s relationship with Harper, going strength to strength, allowing their bonding to bring them closer together.
And let me just say it was too cute, adorable and oh so sweet seeing their interactions, especially from the lightness, laughter and lots of love it brought forth.
Lisa showcased Travis's dad qualities coming out in droves, despite being new to it all, you could see the progress he was making, considering his growth that had him doing everything in his power with putting her first.
Considering there was a lot going on, Lisa Suzanne did a good job in compartmentalising the storyline, so it wasn't all over the way. Or feel like it was too much in being overwhelming.
Particularly when you add in the secondary characters and subplots that were lying in wait in the background, ready for their spotlight, considering the connections it had to the main plots and characters.
That ending though, Lisa Suzanne definitely kicked it up a notch with
Fair Catch,
when you compare it to the previous cliffhangers.
It definitely has me here waiting in anticipation of what will happen for Travis and his future with Victoria and Harper in the next book
Forward Progress.
