A Charming Touch of Tarot

Rate this book
Four friends discover that their new magical skills may not be enough to save them from a stalker hell-bent on turning their lives upside down.

Alyssa, Nina, Lanie, and Corinne's friendship is being put to the test. With Nina's marriage falling apart, Lanie acting distant, Alyssa's new romance, and no one quite trusting Corinne, this may be more than their bond can take. But when Nina appears at Alyssa's door, and confesses not just a decades-old secret, but a newfound magical power, the friends know that the only way to face this is together.

Someone has been blackmailing Nina for years, but lately the threats to reveal her secret have changed to threats on her life, and on the lives of those she loves. With Alyssa contacting ghosts for insight and Nina getting used to her telepathy skills, they dash from city to city to track down the threat. There's someone out there that will go to any lengths to keep their control over Nina, and it will take all four friends to get out of this without ruining, or losing, their lives. But with the strength of their friendship—and a little help from the beyond—these women are out to prove they're not to be messed with.

✨ Coming May 13th - A Cozy Mystery You Won't Want to Miss!! ✨
If you adore magical friendships, suspense, and a touch of supernatural, A Charming Touch of Tarot is a must. This second installment in the Gin & Tarot Club series by Melissa Holtz deepens the enchanting world she first introduced in her first book! I absolutely love when authors do series like this, my favorite trend by far.
Thank you NetGalley and Berkely Publishing Group for this ARC!! It was right up my alley and I couldn't be more excited to read it! Sidenote: This book has consumed my lunch breaks at work for the past week and I'm not sure what I'll replace it with now :(
RATING: 5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️'s!! Perfect Magic + Mystery cocktail!!
This book is set in the small spellbinding town of Starfall Ridge, this second installment follows Nina as she dives into tarot reading, solving mysteries and old secrets. The blend of small-town charm, magical realism, and laughable moments makes this series completely addictive. Whether you're a tarot lover or just enjoy a side of enchantment with your sleuthing, this book ✨delivers✨
The writing brings you into Alyssa, Nina, Lanie, and Corinne's world as you become a part of their friend group and grow with them from book one to this latest installment. There are so many quotes I want to use here, but I'll have to refrain until May 13th when the book is published. Expect to hear from me that morning on all the quotes I've been saving up for this review!!

Okay so I did like this book, but I had no idea it was the second installment of the series. I wish I knew that when I first requested it. It did start to make sense about 20% of the way through.

While I did like this, I don’t think it really was a romance in my opinion. Maybe more of a “discovering yourself” and coping with grief and death. It was a cozy read, but this was just an “okay” for me. Was it cute? Yeah. Was the paranormal aspect of it good? Definitely. I just wanted a little bit more.

Overall, it still was a cute cozy read. Definitely wish I knew about the first book before starting this one.

*Thank you to NetGalley, Berkeley Publishing Group, and the author, Melissa Holtz for the ARC!*

Thank you for the free book @penguinrandomhouse and @berkleyrpub! #penguinrandomhousepartner #berkleyIG #BerkleyBookstagram.

What if you can see ghosts and then one night, a ghost appeared and you find out that she was the ex fiancée of the guy you’re currently dating!? 😂

This is definitely starting to be one of my favorite series! It’s pretty much about a group of friends with psychic abilities helping to solve murder cases! It has ghosts, seances, sleuthing, a side of romance between two widows, with the female leads resembling the cast of Sex and the City! I love it so much!

I binged this book and wish I hadn’t because now I have to wait a full year again before I get to the next book 😂 You don’t have to read the first book - they’re totally different storylines buuut you’d just be familiar with the characters more if you do.

This comes out today and I highly recommend for you to pick it up! Definitely one of my fave mystery series!

💭 Help me pick my next read!! I can’t pick between these books: My Friends, Parents Weekend, One Golden Summer, Silver Elite, Shield of Sparrows. I’m having option paralysis 😅

Thank you to Netgalley, the publisher, and the author for providing a free e-arc of this book in exchange for an honest review.

First off, I was not aware that this was the second book in a series, so my review is not really complete I feel, but I still enjoyed the book for what it was. The book starts out with some information that would have been good background to have from reading the first one, so it started off a little slow and confusing for me. It started picking up towards 25-30% though, and did take off well from there.

The paranormal portion of the book was interesting, providing a coming to terms with grief, death, the main character discovering herself, and new beginnings. The friendship between the characters was cute and well done, providing a cozy kind of atmosphere when together. The romance was also done in good taste, being more closed door. The mystery portion was very interesting even though it was slightly predictable.

All in all, it's a good cozy read, I definitely am interested in picking up the first one eventually to piece everything together fully.

This was a charming sequel to the Gin and Tarot Club series that has ghosts, tarot, female friendship, single mom moments, some romance, adventure and more as four friends race to uncover a killer and get to the bottom of a decades long blackmail scheme all while using their newfound magical skills. Good on audio and perfect for fans of books like Alice Bell's Grave expectations series. Many thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for an early digital copy and @prhaudio for a complimentary ALC in exchange for my honest review!

(3.75 stars) - This sequel was amazing! I loved watching our girls Alyssa and Nina grow and learning more about Lanie's past. I like how everyone is growing and developing. Book 2 took on a lot with multiple different/new locations and growing from a one off case to more organized crime and it really pays off in my opinion! I also liked seeing Nick grow in this book as well. And seeing Alyssa and Nick's relationship grow even deeper. I can't wait for book 3 (even though I think I will have to wait a while since it isnt out yet)!

Thank you to Berkley Publishing for the gifted book. All opinions are my own.

I was unaware that this is the second book in a series. Unlike many series, I believe reading the first book would have enhanced my enjoyment. I was confused for the first 20% of the book and trying to connect dots I was discovering for the first time. Once I got my bearings, my reading experience improved.

A CHARMING TOUCH OF TAROT combines elements of paranormal activity with romance and mystery. It’s quite an interesting combination. Alyssa and her friends each possess some paranormal ability. In Alyssa’s case she sees spirits; ghosts and poltergeists. When they start alerting her to some potential nefarious activities and giving clues about missing young women, she enlists the help of her homicide detective neighbor who also happens to be her new love interest.

The paranormal elements were interesting. The romance was secondary and took a backseat to the detective work. And the mystery was a bit predictable, but still fun. This was a cozy mystery with some supernatural vibes and a good way to ease into spooky season. I do suggest reading the first book before diving into the sequel.

I’m always down for the cozy mystery + romance mash-up genre, and Holtz’s Gin and Tarot Club series is a perfect fit! The series centers on four friends who discover they have some new magical skills from visions, telepathy, summoning the dead, and even talking to ghosts. When one of them ends up being blackmailed, these women rely on their friendship, powers, and Alyssa’s new detective romance to track down the threat. This series should be read in order (An Enchanting Case of Spirits is book 1), and I enjoyed this follow up as the author expanded on the four women’s pasts as well as Alyssa’s relationship. With some pretty high stakes, the mystery in this one was enjoyable, and full of the same wit, easy banter, and friendship/motherhood themes I adored from the series opener.

With the perfect blend of mid-40’s relatable heroines, supernatural skills, and a slow burn romance, this is a series I can’t wait to continue.

This one was so much better than the first 1. I honestly couldn't even get through the first 1, to say that even read 20% of it.

This one was a bit slow. I would say 30% of it. It definitely gets a lot better. It gets into more of the mystery and the story. The plot, the characters you learn more about there, is in this book. There is a cute romance for sure, which I did like. If you like tarot cards and which books I think you would enjoy this one.

Extremely slow paced, even having read the first, still not as interested in the humans as I should be. Maybe this series is a dud for me.

3.5⭐️ Alyssa and the gang are back with more paranormal mysteries, and I think I liked this sequel even more than the first book!

Strong women’s friendships are some of my favorites to read about, and I liked how Alyssa, Nina, and Lanie were there for each other through some heavier stuff. The paranormal elements were fun and made things more interesting, especially seeing how the women worked together with their skills.

The stakes definitely felt higher in this book. There were several mystery threads throughout the story, and though there were a few times I got confused with who was who, when they all started coming together, I was hooked. The tension just kept getting higher, and the last several chapters had me turning pages quickly. I loved the setup for the next book in the series, and already can’t wait to see what’s going to happen.

Thank you Berkley for the free copy.

I really enjoyed the first book in the series but this was kind of a mess. Too many story lines, no reminders of what happened in book 1 so everything felt convoluted. The story line I cared most about (Isla) was so rushed I was left super unsatisfied with it.

One star deducted for the amount of times the phrase “sucked air through my teeth” or something similar was used throughout (especially in the first half). Otherwise, it really picked up for me past the 82 page mark; wasn’t sure if I was going to like it before that.

**I was delighted to receive an ARC of this book from Melissa Holtz & Penguin-Randomhouse! It released on May 13th, so you can snag a copy now!**

The sequel to the super fun An Enchanting Case of Spirits, this book follows our spiritually talented Alyssa, her girl gang-Nina, Lanie, & Corinne- and her handsome detective next door to solve a small-town murder mystery with the help of some ghosts! I love how the different characters come into their powers in this installment, and there are multiple side quests to keep things interesting! I’m interested to see where Nina’s story goes—a lot of potential for a second chance romance there. And although there is some concrete resolution to this case, it’s wide open for the series to continue.

Thank you to NetGalley and Berkley for providing me with an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

If Hallmark ever branched into paranormal territory, they’d be grabbing up this series faster than … I don’t know, but really fast. When I was approved for an ARC of this book, I discovered that it was book 2 of a series, and was able to get an audiobook from my library of the first book. I really enjoyed the first one, and was excited to see where the series was heading.

One of my favorite parts of the story is how most of the major characters in the story are in their forties. Each of the club members is in a very different place in their lives, yet they all manage to come together and be supportive of each other. This is one of the coziest aspects of the story, with the friends having a really cool bond between them. Alyssa, Nina, and Lanie are long-term friends, and Corinne is a bit of a prickly new addition to the group, younger than the rest. This book let me feel like I got to know the characters a lot better, as they’re all dealing with issues.

Nina is going through an ugly divorce, Alyssa is just emerging on the other side of grief after her husband died suddenly, Lanie … had something going on, and we don’t really get to know much about Corinne yet, but I’m looking forward to learning more about her. As if that isn’t enough, there are still the paranormal talents to get used to: Alyssa’s being able to see ghosts, and now Nina’s new telepathy talent.

On top of all of that, Alyssa keeps seeing ghosts that clearly have a message for her, but she can’t quite figure out what these messages are. Although there is one ghost whose presence made me laugh a lot of the time, even as I already predicted that they would creating issues. More importantly, there are unsolved mysteries piling up at the police station, and they’re clearly related in some way to these cases, if Alyssa can just figure out what the ghosts are trying to tell her.

I really enjoyed the romance growing between Alyssa and her hot detective boyfriend. They are really developing more than just attraction, but also a great friendship, which is a pretty good way to create a romance that feels natural and realistic. Things are moving slowly, and the romance is closed door, so it actually feels like watching a relationship develop, as opposed to insta-love or something out of convenience. Both Alyssa and Nick are building on a foundation of honesty, cooperation, respect, and vulnerability, and I am enjoying seeing this blossom.

While I loved the romance aspect of the book, I especially appreciated the way that it didn’t overshadow the other aspects of the story, including the friendships and the mysteries. And yes, I did say ‘mysteries,’ because there are several of them in this book. Initially, it was a little bit confusing, but after I got everything situated in my head, I was fully invested. The story is a little slow in the beginning as it sets up all these different questions—what’s up with the ghosts? What are they trying to tell Alyssa? What the heck is going on with Lanie? Who is blackmailing Nina and why? What is happening with the missing girl?—but it does pick up the pace around 25% of the way in, and things move at a pretty fast pace from there to the end.

Overall, I really had a good time with this one. It’s fun, funny, the perfect mix of light-hearted and serious, has the sweetest romance, and what is giving me younger Golden Girls vibes. The author sensitively deals with grief, various types of loss, and still manages to feel light as a whole. Plot twists were a bit predictable, but I kind of like that in my cozy mysteries sometimes—it makes it a fluffy read that doesn’t involve too much overthinking, and it really allowed me to focus more on the different aspects of the story that have been developing over the course of the series. This was a great read, and if you’re a fan of cozies, this is one to check out for sure!

🎧 Title: A Charming Touch of Tarot- The Gin & Tarot Club #2

✍🏾 Author: Melissa Holt- I read An Enchanting Case of Spirits- gave it 4⭐

📅Publication date: 5/13/25 | Read: 8/20/25

🗣️Narrator: Aaron Shedlock and Piper Goodeye voice all the characters with standouts from Alyssa, Nina, and Nick. The reading style brought the text to life, and the author and narrators worked together perfectly. The pacing and flow allowed me to get lost in the story. The narrators paused and announced new chapters and there was a table of contents which helped me follow along.

👆🏾POV: 1st person dual

⚠️TW: murder, grief, blackmail, forced marriage

🌎 Setting: Knox Harbor, MA

Summary: Alyssa and her friends are active within The Gin & Tarot Club. Alyssa is still grieving Garrett's death while his murderer Richard may be getting out of jail. Nina's husband (Richard) blackmailed her, and now someone is threatening her life.

👩🏾 Heroine: Alyssa Mann-40, a PI and medium able to speak w/ ghosts

👨🏾 Hero: Nick West- 45, a detective and Alyssa's next-door neighbor

🎭 Other Characters:

*Lanie Anderson-Alyssa 's BFF
*Nina-Alyssa's BFF, married to Richard, telepathic, and a school counselor

*Ava-Alyssa's 16 yr.old daughter
*Isla-Nick's ex fiancée (deceased)
*Richard Dunbar-in jail for Garrett's car accident
*Chelsea-Nick captain's niece who goes missing

🤔 My Thoughts: I was in the mood for a cozy mystery and Holtz didn't disappoint. I'd recommend reading book one first because a lot of past events are referenced. Nina had some big secrets that explained why she was married to Richard. Alyssa saw a few ghosts and had to help them move on. There was also a murder mystery that was a little convoluted but left the door open for future books with the big bad Order.

Alyssa is trying to find a balance after the loss of her husband.  Something that I know from experience isn't easy.  The relationship she has with her daughter is wonderful though, it's well-balanced and while she wants to hover, Alyssa still lets her daughter have some freedom.  Despite everything she's been dealing with - losing her husband and gaining the ability to see ghosts - she's handling it well and is upbeat and positive.  I like her a lot.

The friendship-turned-hopeful relationship she has with the detective next door, Nick West, is fun as well.  Nick is both eager to help her while also attempting to keep her out of danger.  They're a cute couple and do work well together, so I hope that the next book really brings them together.  He's also suffering from a loss and I think that they'll be good for each other's healing process.

One of the things I love the most about cozy mysteries is the group aspect.  Each sleuth has his or her own group of helpers and it makes the investigating so much more fun.  It can also lead to more chaos, which I live for.  Alyssa and her friend group are diverse and interesting, each with their own backstory and secrets.  Some of which sneak out during this story.  I need to read the first book while I wait for the third.  There's so much to know about all of these people.

The revelation around Nina's backstory was interesting and made me really feel for her.  She went through a lot and still managed to make a good life for herself.  The revelation of her psychometry - being able to see things by touching an object - was fascinating to me.  I had thought Alyssa would be the only one with psychic inclinations and was pleasantly wrong.  Makes me curious to see what will be revealed in the next book.

A Charming Touch of Tarot is exactly that - a charming and adventurous story about friends and lost love.  Alyssa and her group of friends are fascinating and I can't wait to learn more about their group dynamics - and everyone's histories - as the series goes on.

*Thanks to Netgalley, the author, and the publisher for a copy of this book in exchange for a fair and honest review.

A Charming Touch of Tarot is the second book in The Gin and Tarot Club series by Author Melissa Holtz. Not having read the first book, I was at a loss at times, but there were enough details given that I could usually figure out some of what happened before.

This paranormal mystery is a little darker than a cozy mystery, with lots of ghosts, poltergeists, darkness, and danger. Multiple stories occur, and various crimes are committed. Through it all, Alyssa, her detective boyfriend, Nick, and several friends are in the thick of things. Alyssa can see and talk with ghosts, and her friend, Nina, touches people and knows what’s going on in their lives or thoughts. Lainie is sometimes there as comedic relief but also knows more about an organization with its tentacles in many places. I chuckled a few times at their outlandish actions to figure out whodunnit.

With multiple murders, lots of bad dreams that have meaning, some disbelief, and reconciliation, the story proceeded at a good pace. The flow was sometimes interrupted, not realizing that a location change or a new day was unfolding. They all seem to get on board with the ghost, dreams, and what they’re trying to tell them. We are taken on multiple adventures through Massachusetts, Florida, and New Orleans to gather clues and discover additional connections and details.

Nick seems to need the help of Alyssa and her friends behind the scenes to save some lives. The story does have closure with a chance of a few happily ever afters, but it ended too abruptly. The chapter titles all related to tarot cards were an added bonus.

A Charming Touch of Tarot is darker than a cozy mystery and has a lot of paranormal effects. Sit back as Alyssa, Nick, and the others gather the clues to figure out whodunnit.

Not as good as the first book.

While I enjoyed the characters and where the majority of the plot was going during the book, there was FAR too much going on to really keep up with things.

This really didn't have a main plot. It had 3 main plots about about 53 side plots. Everything was quite scattered throughout the book. We were in five or six different cities, dealing with untold numbers of ghosts and spirits, and getting just the smallest specks of the romance between our MC & LI.

The first 1/3 of this book was fantastic. The pacing felt nice, everything was going at an enjoyable speed. Then it was like someone hit the turbo button and we ran at break-neck speed for the remainder of the book. I really would have preferred if some of these scenes/plots had been cut () to give others time to be further explored ().

It definitely either needed another round of edits to slim down the side plots or had other things filled out to add another 50 or so pages to the book. Hell, it could have easily been split into two books. Considering its a series, I don't think that would have been too much of an issue.

Overall, I still really love our MC and I'm interested in the characters and the world enough to continue on. This was still decent, just not a favorite.

I jumped straight from An Enchanting Case of Spirits into this sequel, and it picks up exactly where book one left off. In this installment, we get to dive deeper into both Nina and Nick’s stories. Nina is dealing with the emotional fallout of her husband’s arrest, while Nick is forced to confront a heartbreaking surprise: the newest ghost attached to Alyssa is his late fiancée.

As new spirits seek Alyssa’s help, the group is pulled into uncovering shady dealings that lead them straight into the center of a larger crime organization. This book leans further into the paranormal elements, which kept the story fun, spooky, and engaging. Despite the higher stakes, it still maintains the cozy, warm vibe that made book one so enjoyable.

The slow-burn romance between Alyssa and Nick continues to feel genuine and grounded, it develops naturally in the background while the mystery and detective work take the lead. I really appreciated that balance.

We also get more depth from the supporting cast. Nina steps into a stronger role, Lanie is clearly being set up for something big in book three, and Alyssa’s daughter Ava continues to shine as a kind, thoughtful young adult.

The ending left me eager for book three, I’m fully invested in this friend group, this mystery arc, and Alyssa’s growing paranormal abilities.

This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.

Thoughts: I did not realize this was part of a series when I chose this book, but it’s obvious from the beginning that it is one. I discovered later that this is #2 in the series. Still, though the beginning was a bit confusing, once I got into it, it was easier to follow. Add to that, the huge thread left dangling at the end and you know the series will go on. The smaller of the two mysteries was settled by the end, which was nice.

I loved the slow burn between Alyssa and Nick. They’re not going into their relationship in a hurry. But the best part of that was the ghost of Nick’s old girlfriend trying to make sure they’re suited for each other, including asking Lyssa about her interest in football and racing (neither of which Nick is into anymore). She really wants someone for him to love so she can move on. So funny.

If I wanted anything more, I’d love a small (one sentence) explanation of each card that heads the chapters so we know why they relate to that chapter. Maybe a sub-heading type of thing.

Recommended.

3.25/5 rounded down

Thank you Berkley Books for the advanced reading copy & PRH Audio for the advanced listening copy!

Firstly, I didn’t know this was the second series and it would definitely have been helpful to read the first one. It took me a little bit to get into the characters because I didn’t know their previous relationships, and there were definitely a few moments where I wasn’t sure what was going on... though I’m not sure if that’s because of not having read the previous book or if I just was confused by the plotting.

The inclusion of the tarot was definitely interesting, and at some parts felt like it added to the story and sometimes felt unrelated. I think there could have been a bit more of that, actually, to make it feel connected to the title.

I feel fairly neutral about this book overall. I didn’t hate it, wouldn’t go so far as to say I really liked it. The story itself was fine and fairly well written. I think the plot got away from me a little bit, and there were times when it was challenging to see where sub plots related to the overall story, even after these were thoroughly explained. Overall, would recommend this if you’re looking for a magical, lightly romantic, mystical mystery, but would definitely recommend you read the first one first.

In A Charming Touch of Tarot by Melissa Holtz the story is a charming mystery with supernatural elements. In particular I like the ghostly supernatural aspects and the way the author sprinkles in details from the first book in the series to allow the reader to organically catch up if you aren’t familiar with the book. I also liked the details of each woman’s power and how she expands on the details of their abilities, even demonstrating how much they have learned even in the course of this book.
The novel has a lot of charming mystery and intrigue as Alyssa works with her new beau to help him solve a crime and even though the description of the book does not quite match the level of threat in the actual book, I did find the ending adds to the intrigue and will work wonderfully to pull readers further into the series with a continued threat lurking.
If you like mysteries with supernatural aspects, this is a great one to read. I do think it would be helpful to begin with the first book in the series but there are only two so far so this would be a great start to a new mystery series. With a charming mystery and intriguing characters, this one is sure to keep you thrilled over the course of the series.

In this second installment of The Gin & Tarot Club series, Alyssa, Nina, Lanie, and Corinne’s friendship is pushed to its limits when a stalker threatens not just their secrets, but their lives. Nina’s failing marriage, Lanie’s distance, Alyssa’s new romance, and lingering doubts about Corinne strain their bond—until Nina confesses both a decades-old secret and a startling new magical gift. As blackmail escalates into deadly threats, the women must rely on their growing powers and unshakable friendship to uncover the truth and protect each other, no matter the cost.

I found myself more invested in the story in this second novle. Holtz’s prose is still beautiful, cozy, and warm, perfectly suiting the blend of mystery and heart that carries the narrative. The friendship between the four women is the highlight for me—so authentic, full of wit, loyalty, and quiet strength. The romantic storyline between Alyssa and Nick, however, didn’t capture me as strongly, though it was woven in naturally and never detracted from my enjoyment.

Overall, A Charming Touch of Tarot was an engaging and heartwarming read for me, balancing the intrigue of a local mystery with the comfort of friendship and self-discovery.

This series is one of my favorite Netgalley finds. I read the first book last year on a whim, because it sounded interesting and different from what i'd been reading at the time. I was more than pleasantly surprised at how cute this mystery was, and how much heart it had.

I jumped at the chance to read the sequel, and was not disappointed! I love getting to know the women of Knox Harbor and their growing abilities, and I really enjoyed how this book doubled down on them, and expanded the underlying plot.

This book is sweet and cute. I'm not sure if you'd call it a cozy mystery because there is murder involved, but its not terribly graphic and not solely focused on those deaths, more on the mystery surrounding them and how Alyssa helps the deceased cross over. I like that this book opened up a larger mystery that will carry over into the next book and I can't wait to see how our ragtag team deal with the darker underside of their idyllic town!

I received a copy of this book from Netgalley for the purpose of this review. All thoughts and opinions are entirely my own, and I am writing a voluntary review.

A Charming Touch of Tarot is the sequel to An Enchanting Case of Spirits. It follows a group of friends Alyssa, Nina, Lanie, and Corinne. Nina is being blackmailed. Alyssa who can communicate with spirits hopes they can figure out who is blackmailing Nina. The women work together to try and help there friend.

I am so glad I reread An Enchanting Case of Spirits before reading this one. Because this book picks up right where that book left off. ( if you didn’t read that book first you will be lost. This is not a book series where you can read book to first and then go back and re-read book one). I liked book one better. I thought the romance and this book took way too long to happen. The romance didn’t happen in book one and in this one it took way over half the book for anything to happen. I don’t think that was a good choice because it just left me bored and waiting for something to happen. I liked the whole mystery and friendship aspect of the book. But over all I thought this was just okay. I do suggest this series though.

Thank you so much Berkley for sending me a copy of this one. This book comes out on May 13!

Thank you NetGalley and Berkley Publishing for the ARC of “A Charming Touch of Tarot” by Melissa Holtz in exchange for an honest review.

The cover and title of this book captured me. I don’t typically gravitate toward the mystery genre, but the paranormal trope enticed me to look into this book. I also did not realize this was the second installment to a series, so now I will have to go read the first!

This book centers on Alyssa and her group of friends, who have all been blessed with supernatural abilities. Each character has a separate story line and throughout the book we learn more about how their pasts have been haunting them. Someone out there is threatening their lives, and with the help of Alyssa’s love interest, Nick, they are on the case to track down the mysterious threat.

This book had a charming prose that kept me reading and trying to solve these mysteries with the characters. I enjoyed the bonds between friends, as well as the blooming romance between Alyssa and Nick. If you are into cozy mysteries with a bit more bite, this is the book for you!
