It all starts with a little game of truth or dare...
That was my first mistake. I've never been able to resist a dare and he damn well knows it. Trust me, I realize it's a personal flaw I need to work on. My second mistake? If I had to hazard a guess, I'd say it was when I agreed to a frenemies-with-benefits situation in order to get him out of my system once and for all. The third one, just in case you're wondering, was in thinking this wouldn't explode in my face if I came up with a list of rules for us to follow. 1- This is in no way a relationship. It's strictly dickly. 2- No sleeping with other people while knocking boots. 3- Our situationship stays on the downlow But then he tacked on one of his own- no getting myself off unless it's in front of him. Oh...did I forget to mention that the guy in question is Ford Hamilton, my ex-stepbrother? The very same one who may or may not remain an ex for long. There's only one thing left to say... FML.

This has probably been my favorite Jennifer Sucevic book. It was steamy, fun, and just overall a great listen. It also had the added forbidden element of the hero being her ex-step-brother.
There is some puck bunny shaming but no shaming of the hockey player, but that is kind of part of the territory in a new adult sports romance.
I’m definitely excited to read the last one that she has published so far in this standalone series
I’m loving this series so far. There’s something about Jennifer’s books that just really hook you in.
Love You Never is book 2 in the Western Wildcats Hockey Series, following Carina & Ford. They used to be step siblings & grew close but after Ford pushed her away their senior year of high school, they have grown to become more like enemies over the last few years. But what they can’t deny after all these years is the chemistry & pull between the two of them. So when Ford suggests a frenemies with benefits situation, what could possibly go wrong?
I just knew I was going to love these two from getting to meet them in book 1 of the series! Their banter was just so good. I loved getting to know their relationship on a deeper level. These two might as well have been tied together by invisible string. Ford was down bad for Carina since the moment he laid eyes on her & I loved seeing how obsessed with her he was. This was definitely Jennifer’s spiciest book I’ve read so far. The taboo aspect of it just added to how hot it was & I just absolutely ate it up.
I’m already so excited to continue this series, hoping book 3 is about Wolf & Fallyn!
Tropes: - Sports Romance - Hockey Player x Dancer - College Romance - Frenemies with Benefits - Ex-Step Siblings - Forced Proximity - Possessive Hero - Boy Obsessed
4 ⭐️ | 2.5 🌶️ * hockey romance * enemies-ish to lovers * ex step siblings * off limits
I love an enemies to lovers hockey romance but adding in the touch of taboo with step siblings. Holy hell yes please.
This book takes no time & starts off with a bang in the first chapter. Ford sees Carina show up to a party with another guy and he is not having it. He pulls her aside instantly and gives her the ultimate truth or dare to put her in her place.. she just doesn’t know it yet.
These two met at 14 when her mom married his dad, however that didn’t last but Carina still looks at his father like she’s also his & he’s still a huge part of her life.
In the past Ford & Carina had an instant connection that was primarily emotional given the age. But now they’re older and going to the same university emotional is now also turning into physical because they can never say no to each other.
What’s suppose to be a let’s get this out of our system and move on turns into a can’t live without you, but can Carina sacrifice the chance of losing the only father figure she had?
This has a lot of potential but unfortunately I ended up skimming a lot of it. I absolutely love spice but this was almost too much. I wish they could’ve talked about how they felt. The whole time like Carina could you just speak up?? They never discussed how Ford ignored Carina before senior year of college. It was also too similar to the first book where all of a sudden the guy is done sleeping around and can’t stand the idea of this girl from his past being with anyone else. The girls folded so fast. It’s like I guess since it’s convenient for you now they should be into you?? Didn’t make sense to me. But ya generally an okay book. I wanted it to be like the off campus series but it wasn’t half as good lol

What a journey Carina & Ford share in this book! They were characters with very complex feelings that made this love story fun and full of feelings, especially when their parents are involved. Jennifer Sucevic made me suffer a little more than I expected with Love You Never, but she also made me love this series and its characters much more.
Carina is Jules' best friend, a girl who is not afraid to speak her mind, a lover of dance and Ford's ex-stepsister, the boy whom she hates, but whom she has to see constantly because they are neighbors, go to the same university and move in the same circles, however, Carina never hesitates to let Ford know how much his presence bothers her, and although I think her character makes some bad decisions, I loved reading the strength and integrity of this girl. Something that broke my heart a lot and at the same time melted it was reading the relationship of love and support that exists between Carina and Ford's father, the only father figure that she has developed and with whom she feels very grateful.
Ford is one of the most popular hockey players on campus, an incorrigible womanizer who has actually been in love with Carina for years, he has a simple, charming and very flirtatious personality, and the truth is that I did not expect to love his character so much, I was surprised to read him accepting his feelings for Carina from the beginning, even when he is not ready to confess them, and I LOVED reading the sweet details that he always had with her.
Carina & Ford have a sweet & tender past together that ended abruptly and broke both of their hearts, but everything between them resurfaces when Carina accepts Ford's proposal to be friends with benefits, and if before that the tension between them was unbearable, when this agreement begins their connection becomes more intense, it becomes impossible for both to ignore what they really feel for the other, and for Ford what he really wants from Carina, BUT nothing is going to be easy because she has to protect her heart, the two have to face the obstacles that their parents' relationship puts in front of them and fight to keep safe what they feel for each other.

I’m not a fan of third act breakups, but this one wasn’t too bad (still don’t like them). Very steamy, my lord. Also ex-step siblings and I wasn’t sure how I was going to like that but it honestly wasn’t that bad.
Try to put this book down! Love You Never is the 2nd book in the Western Wildcat Hockey series. This book has College Hockey, second chances, a found family, frenemies with benefits, a close girl group and plenty of spicy chemistry.
Ford Hamilton is a hockey god with plenty of female attention but he can't let go of his obsession with his former stepsister. He pushed her away years ago and has tried his best to forget her but he wants her to much.
Carina Hutchins was once obsessed with Ford but her obsession is now dance and she wants to just get through her senior year and graduate so she can start her life away from her stepbrother.
They are paired up with a class project but he introduces the idea of a friends with benefits situation so they could get each other out of their systems.
Carina figures it will be a two and done then they could move on. However, there chemistry is addicting and they cannot stay away from each other.
Ford wants all in and thinks she does too until they are caught in a compromising position and she proceeds to end them abruptly.
Is his feelings all one sided and will his heart ever recover?
Ford and Carina have a routine. They play truth or dare together and always follow through. So when the dare is a kiss. Their frenemies situation turns into a frenemies with benifits situation. They have some stipulations... only with each other, it's not a relationship, and no one else finds out.
Ok ok... this might be in the taboo category for some. Ford and Carinas parents were married in high school. And then they divorced.
But Ford has always had Carina on his mind. He's been the mastermind of some situations since they've grown up. It's pretty steamy. I respected the relationship that Carina has with Crawford (Fords dad). And of course it's a hockey novel! Carina has her own interests too, and I enjoyed that Carina has her own thing too. It's something that the book doesn't gloss over and I liked that it was a big part of the book along with Fords hockey.
This relationship is very, very complicated with their history and relationships. But Ford is so Carina all the time, I loved it.
I like this book better than the first one and I do like Carina and Ford. I thought Carina came off a little immature, but she is only 22 and in college, so I guess her character was close to what it should be.
Carina‘s mom used to be married to Ford’s dad. Carina‘s mom has taken off and is living a lavish lifestyle funded by her alimony.
Ford has always had a crush on his ex stepsister, but felt that he wasn’t allowed to have her so therefore he blocks every guy he can at their college .
Eventually, Ford and Carina recognize the chemistry between them and decide to become friends with benefits, feelings quickly grow, a little drama happens, and then a happily ever after. The end.
The spice was fun - but the characters and their personalities are basically cut-copy-pasted from one book to the next. J. Sucevic would probably be better off not writing inter-connected and instead focus on different worlds.
Every character is one dimensional - the men are just hockey players who (typically) sleep around. The women are hot and brainy. There's no diversity in the types of people in this series' world.
Plus all of the men are so possessive and it's gross. Sorry, no woman belongs to you!!!!
Cute and spicy.

I was so excited for Ford and Carina's story, but this fell short for me. Something was missing between the two. I don't think they matched, Ford definitely fell harder, and Carina seemed kind of flat. It's still a good read, but I definitely hyped this up in my mind too much.

Ladies and gentlemen, I give you the result of a 40 something year old sex deprived women who has never experiences a orgasm. At a certain point I started reading the sex scenes even faster and enjoyed all the filler more. it was like I was reading a horror and every time they started having sex I was on edge and not even in a fun way. #bringrydermcsteamypantsback
This book was so good! I loved it all! Carina and Ford have explosive chemistry! I could feel it. I enjoyed the push and pull! The tension, love, and banter were all top tier! I can't wait to continue this series!!
Such a good pallet cleanser. I do feel like the timing of this one doesn’t match the first book and I also feel like Ryder and Jules were written differently then their book
