Just finished my ARC read of Survival Game by Maze Perkins and holy shit yall....this book was wild. We meet our firecracker FMC Avril Grant who is willing to do anything to escape her abused tormented life. Even risk her life playing a dangerous game of Truth or Dare ran by our 3 MMCs Kieran, Keith, and Kylian. Although all the MMCs have a sadistic streak there is one game master everyone fears for good reason. Will Arival survive this game or pay with her very life and the fraction of her souls she has left.
I rate this a ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ stars and a 🌶🌶.

THIS IS A DARK READ. YOU MUST CHECK THE TRIGGER WARNINGS BUT OMG!! I really enjoyed the plot of this book as well as the guessing game the author put me though for like 50 - 65% of the book.

Yall this is the first book where I find the MMC absolutely unredeemable! This MMC is a complete sociopath and a serial unaliver who takes pleasure in torture. Some people are just to messed up to be let loose in the wild and he is 1000% one of those people.


I have a love-hate relationship with the FMC because she is so stubborn and hard-headed. Chapter 25 had smoke coming out of my ears I was so pissed off at her but I love her because with all the things she has been through is didn't curl up into a ball and give up hoping somone else would save her. She doesn't stand for anyone's shit nor does she care what people think about her. She is bold and I love it

Fuck the MMCs mother. She might not have deserved all that but she definitely deserved punishment.

Yall now I'm a slut for a good Predator/Prey chase so I was kicking me feet and giggling in chapter 17

I wanna know where the hell were the other MMCs in the last like 4 ish chapters?

I know this is the first is a series and there has to be something to write about in the next book but really....only the thigh......

Overall I enjoyed this read and if your a Dark Romance book baddie, a Morally black book baddie I think you will love this book too. It will be available to purchase soon!!!

Great read and can’t wait for book 2!

I received an ARC of this book, Maze’s first English language release - of her French Burning Soul series. This was a fun read. I liked the premise of the book. Going in, it felt similar to the tv series Panic. Then it quickly changed from a game with contestants to more of a game of Truth or Dare between Avril and the Game Masters, most of them spicy in nature, forcing Avril to face deviancies/proclivities she hadn’t previously found herself fond of. The book left on a cliffhanger and I’m excited to read the next one! I would have liked more of the storyline with the other contestants and challenges but I was happy with just Avril’s challenges.

Avril intègre le célèbre jeu de sa ville, elle va tout faire pour gagner et surtout gagner sa liberté.
Mais les maîtres du jeu sont déterminés, riche et puissant, ils ne rigolent pas.
Avril qui pensait pouvoir se mettre à leur niveau va vite se rendre compte qu’elle n’est qu’un pion dans l’échiquier et que des dangers rôdent autour d’elle, notamment 1 mais avant que je vous en parle:

Ok…. encore un ÉNORME COUP DE CŒUR !
Tout ce que j’aime est réuni ici, et je me suis découvert une passion pour les harems inversés
merci l’auteure pour ça.
Ce livre va vous tourner le cerveau, l’identité de K m’a bouffer, j’ai eu des théories toutes plus folle les unes que les autres.
Qui est K ? Vous ne voulez pas le savoir !
Si jamais vous osez le découvrir prenez note qu’il y a de nombreux TW, oui K ne fais pas dans la dentelle
Harcèlement physique/ psychologique, viols, meurtre, troubles mentaux, tortures et autre sont présent !
L’auteure met un point d’honneur sur les TW et au fait que cette histoire est 🔞
Le concept d’Action ou Vérité version dark, je valide à 10000%, dès que la question lui ai posé elle n’a pas le choix que de répondre.
Bien évidement les gages sont assez lourd de conséquence.
Et puis cette tension palpable, omniprésente, nous tient en haleine jusqu’à la dernière page.
Avril à une vie vraiment difficile, mais elle ne se laisse pas abattre, elle veut tout faire pour quitter cette ville glauque.
Je me suis attaché à elle et à sa force aussi, parce qu’elle ne se démonte pas et surtout pas face a ce trio explosif et plein de tensions.
Les scènes spicy sont juste, waouh.
Je suis fan de la plume d’Alexia, ses mots, son intrigue et ses personnages travaillé psychologiquement font que rendre l’histoire addictive et prenante.
Si vous êtes adeptes de dark, de jeu et de personnages dangereux mais sexy, foncez, cette histoire est faite pour vous !
Par contre une fois que vous aurez découvert l’identité de K, gardez la pour vous, ordre de l’auteure !

Cette relecture a été un vrai plaisir, et même si je connaissais les tenants et les aboutissants, je me suis rendu compte que certains petits détails m'avaient échappés et m'ont confirmé que tout est parfaitement millimétré.
La plume est magnifique.
La lecture est fluide et on est complètement absorbé.
J'adore le principe, action ou vérité ?

Tout le long, j'ai été happé par ce jeu, mais pas que…
Un mystère en prime qui m'aura bien joué des tours.

Avril Grant, survie a son calvaire familial grâce à son envie de liberté. Elle a une fierté aussi grande que l'Everest et ne fait confiance en personne. Elle est sarcastique, dénuée de sentiments et excelle dans l'art de la manipulation.
Elle a une capacité à faire la distinction entre sexe et sentiments. Une femme clairement forte et badass comme je les aime.

Les Ross… Kylian, Keith, Kieran, Kai.
Ils sont beaux à se damner et une chose est sûre " la haine n'arrête pas l'attirance".

Au grand jour, ils sont beaux, impressionnants, respectés, énigmatiques.
Certains sont arrogants et froids. D'autres, aiment être le centre de l'attention avec un amusement de défi dans le regard.
Ils sont possessifs et leur plus grand péché est la luxure.

Mais à la nuit tombée,
K à une obsession viscérale pour Avril, il la désire si fort que sa seule délivrance serait de la tuer.
Il l'aime autant qu'il la déteste. Il est capable de tout pour jouer avec elle.

C'est une darkromance très psychologique et avec cette réécriture, on va encore plus loin.
C'est totalement enivrant.
Je l'aimais déjà à l'origine, mais je peux vous affirmer que mon cœur bat encore plus fort.
Une lecture encore plus palpitante que la première fois.

Je suis amoureuse de cette histoire.
Je n’ai même pas de mot pour la décrire. Elle vous prend aux tripes. La plume d’Alexia est intense et prenante et la connaissant de base je ne m’attendais pas à voir une autre facette de sa plume dans cette dark bien hard 🥵

De toute ma lecture j’ai été mené en bateau par le bout du nez ! On est sur un début de plot incroyable. Même si j’avoue que j’avais l’hypothèse dans un coin de ma tête sur K je l’avais un peu laissé tomber à cause de l’auteure qui nous a fait tourné en bourrique 🥹

La psychologie de chacun des personnages est incroyablement bien ficelée et j’ai adoré chacun des personnages de l’histoire. Pas adoré dans le bon sens attention mais dans celui de faire fonctionner l’histoire.
Tous sont complexes. Par contre gros coup de cœur pour Keith qui, certes, est tordu, mais sa pseudo protection nous rend vraiment amoureuse de lui, mais aussi des deux autres pendant les moments les plus chauds 🥵
Le smut est tellement bien écrit ah c’était de la régalade madame !!!

Avril est très étrange mais sa façon de penser est incroyable, elle dit tout haut ce que certaines personnes essaient de se cacher à eux-mêmes. Et je trouve génial ! Une héroïne ,ou antagoniste selon le point de vue, comme ça c’est rare et franchement on devrait en avoir plus !

Vraiment si vous avez plus de 18 ans et que vous adorez les bonne dark bien méchantes allez foncer ! 🫠

A l’occasion de la réédition de ce livre je me suis lancé dans une relecture. Mais avant de vous en dire plus je me dois, de vous avertir. Ce livre n’est PAS pour les mineur(e)s et même les moins de 20 ans, ni pour les personnes sensibles. Il y a de nombreux TW que je vous mets en commentaire épinglé. Maintenant que la prévention est faite, place à mon ressenti. Je savais où je mettais les pieds, et je savais que l’histoire en elle-même me plaisait. Par contre j’avais oublié à quel point l’ambiance est glauque et malsaine. J’ai pour habitude de quand même aimer les protagonistes dans les dark romance, mais ici, c’est tout simplement impossible. Vous vous demandez alors pourquoi j’ai quand même aimé l’histoire? C’est simple pour le travail de l’auteure sur la psychologie des personnages et cette façon d’arriver à nous les faire détester tous ou presque. Je trouve qu’il est plus facile de nous faire aimer des personnages que de nous faire ressentir une haine presque viscérale pour eux, alors bravo Maze ! Nous sommes ici, bien loin d’un conte de fée et c’est totalement réussi. Avec cette relecture je me suis rendu compte, qu’en fait, si, j’avais mes limites et l’une d’elle c’est : la nécr0philie. Si comme moi vous êtes adeptes des dark, que vous voulez quand même découvrir cette histoire, allez-y c’est original et tordu mais vraiment addictif.

It’s dark, twisted and spicy! What more could you ask for?

Survival game is the first book of the burning soul series and the first English edition for French author Maze Perkins.

This story follows our badass fmc Avril. Her life at home isn’t great with an abusive father and creepy obsessed brother. Her only option is to compete in a twisted game of truth or dare with the prize being $200,000. It’s her ticket out of the hell she’s currently surviving in.

We have the Morally Grey Ross men, triplets, the game masters, they’re insane but I kinda love them.

Then there’s K, he is the unknown throughout majority of this story. This man is morally BLACK (pitch black) The things this character does?! You’ll just have to read it to find out..

The twist and turns this book has had me on the edge of my seat! The characters are all perfectly written, survival game was amazing and I loved every minute of it! Please check the trigger warning menu because this book is Dark! But in saying that I’m so excited for book two to be released in English! I can’t wait to see where this story goes and how the characters develop.

✨Arc reader for the English version✨ This story follows Avril, who is stuck in a home with a dad and brother that are not so good to her. Tired of her unsafe home life she has decided to join a deadly game in town called Truth or Dare for a chance to win money and skip town. Truth or Dare is ran by the Game Masters and no one knows who they are until you play the game. All seems to be going well until it takes an unexpected turn for Avril and the Game Masters. This book made me feel like I was in the games watching and me so hooked on finding out what happens next. This book ends on a cliff hanger but the story leading up to it will have you on the edge of your seat.

This book was amazing and it had me HOOKED!! Loved it from start to finish but please check your TW before reading this as it’s very dark.
The Ross brothers wow we love to hate the psychopaths, the little bits of information and stories you read about them is eventful but you learn a lot of things through out the book which helps to understand the story behind everything, the main FC is a badass but tortured through not just surviving the games but her whole life. The twists in the book and one big plot had me guessing who a certain someone was for ages!!

I did question myself a few times “WTF am I reading”?😂 but it’s thrilling, exciting and once you start reading you won’t want to stop till you get to the end..

This book had me HOOKED. The characters were so easy to get wrapped up in and the twisted games of truth or dare was so fun to watch unravel. the story follows 19 year old Avril as she takes part in a game which in her town is known to be life threatening, a game in which to survive you have to go through with your dare or truth the game masters give you.. for Avril this is life changing, with a cash prize and a chance to leave this town behind how could she refuse??? i absolutely loved the different dynamics between Avil and her game masters you could easily see why she was drawn to all of them. the plot trists were absolutely inoredible and i cannot wait to see what book 2 hold!!!

This book is dark, twisted and yet delectable. I am a sucker for dark romance.

This stroy shows Avril stuck with not so good dad and brother. She was tired and needs thrill and hence she joined the most deadliest game of her town, Truth and Dare 😏

The games, the unexpected suspense and thrill will keep you hooked on the edge and you will love every minute of it..

Don't think of our FMC is hurt by her dad and brother so she is weak, she is freaking badass and Ross brothers are hell of a character and they will make this book more enjoyable and difficult to put down 🤭

C'est sombre, et de pire en pire plus on avance la lecture. J'adore.
Evidemment, à ne pas mettre entre les mains de tous et clairement pas adapté pour tous.
Je souligne toutefois le grand travail de recherche autour des notions psychologiques et la manière dont chaque évènements, aussi illégal et monstrueux soient-ils ne sont ni romantisés, ni excusés, ni réduits à quelque chose de sans importance.
La lecture est véritablement prenante et on se prend au plan d'April, on se perd (volontairement et délectueusement) entre les frangins Ross.
Je saute de suite sur le tome suivant.

This was so good! Way more unhinged than what I was expecting. The FMC is taking part in a survival game run by games master which consists of them giving her dares to do to progress through the game. But somebody is after the FMC, an unhinged psychopath who will stop at nothing at get what he wants.... how how is he tied to the game? This was extremely brutal in some places, written very well and I'm looking forward to book 2.

This book from the first chapter got me hooked. It became more dark, sinister and spicier the more I read it and couldn’t anticipate what will happen next. The FMC is perfectly represented and you can feel her empowering through the book. It’s a twisted game she is playing and in the process she uncovers her true self. The book left on a cliffhanger and I’m excited to read the next one! I would have liked more of the storyline with the other contestants and challenges but I was happy with just Avril’s challenges.

Je n’ai pas apprécié ma lecture. On nous parle d’un action ou vérité hardcore, mais il ne se résume qu’à des parties de sexe forcé.
Il y a beaucoup beaucoup d’introspection, de monologue ainsi que des cours de psycho (je m’en serais bien passé).

I have more words than I know how to formulate a thought with for this book! Amazing! Unpredictable! Twisted! Plot twist! Um excuse me madame!!! I was completely hooked!! It's twisted in the best way! And everytime I thought I was close or knew who K was....bam!! I was lost all over again but the need to know kept me going. The Triplets and April's dynamic! I love it all!! I desperate for book 2!

This book was totally not what I expected according to the games, I thought we would see several people playing the game and the challenges but we only get to see Avril our FMC playing truth or dare during the whole book, I’m not complaining though 🤭
Saying that we do have Avril who doesn’t have a good life and she decides to join the game for the reward that can help her get out of the town and she’s not willing to give up at all, the game masters though have a different plan for her.
the game masters our MMC's (Keith, Kai, Kieran) give her a lot of spicy challenges so you can imagine how much spice there is, I forgot to mention the game masters are also these hot and gorgeous triplets. 😉
There’s also a mysterious person who’s obsessed with Avril and will stop at nothing to get her in his grasp.
We get to see some other characters some you'll love and some you'll hate, a lot of things happen in this book so just be prepared to be on the edge of your seat.
I really enjoyed this story and can't wait to read next book after that cliffhanger.

If Hunger Games and Squid Games had a baby it would be this book. Lots of twist and turns and leave you guessing. Great plot and the spice 🥵. Definitely add to your tbr!

Wow! This book is 6 stars! Couldn’t put it down . I received an arc copy for an honest review . I’m trying to keep it spoiler free so bare with me . This story follows Abdul who is going through a lot and is looking for an escape , so she enters a game of truth or dare . Except this games is deadly. The Ross brothers are fantastic mmc’s and the twists in this book are something else . This book is easily in my top 5 reads ever. I can’t wait for the next book to be released in English after that cliffhanger! As a debut novel in English for the author I didn’t find any flaws with ur . The word building in this book is fantastic. Couldn’t recommend enough .
