OHHHH MYYYY GODDDDD !
where do I even start ? Finally literature god answered my prayers that I’ve been requesting to read a fantastic queer y/a romance ! I needed something which would help me feel everything at the same time: happiness, feeling of first love , self love and acceptance!

Yes, I LOVE THIS BOOK SO MUCH! I want to scream it! Oh, thankfully I already did!

Mr. Vitor Martins said - "He believes that representation in young adult literature is a powerful weapon, and his main goal as a writer is to tell stories of people who have never seen themselves in a book."

Yess it's true , I mean we read books about perfect maniac pixie girls falling in love with nerdy boy next door(I hope you got the reference), only because that girl is some hot shot beautiful and not someone chubby , nerdy and awkward like me.

When I started reading this book , I had a smile on my face and when I completed I was grining like an idiot with my shirt soaked in tears.

I mean they discussed there couple names and their first cat name.

Omg the angst and slow burn romance and after they both know that they are gay , ahhhhhh its a sweet torture! The way every chapter ends like how happy Felipe is day by day , sleeping in same room first , then same bed with Caio. A complete bang on story about self love , first love and acceptance , with less tears and more smiles and laughs.

Let's talk about characters :-

🌈Felipe/ Lipe :- the walking gay encyclopaedia , my spirit animal especially when I am around my crush or when I am trying to impress someone .

If anybody dare touch him again, I am gonna break your cut your head and make a swimming pool in it and I will make sure somebody swims in that! I totally swear , Felipe look so cute whenever Caio is around , he is awkward but again who isn't , around crushes or in general and I think that's how characters should be flawed and yet lovable . And that scene with Eddie and Felipe was one of my fav , it was so cute and genuine.

"I guess I’ve always been so busy trying to avoid being unhappy that I never found a way to be happy."

🌈Caio :- I like how Caio gives space to our boy Felipe whenever he needs it. I was so embarrassing myself , when I was reading the book like I was constantly shouting

"Ohhh my baby boy , everything is gonna be alright , you have Felipe with you ."

My brother was like , get a room dude ! Caio's pov were so true and spoke for themselves , like his struggle of coming out to his mom , and him accepting his feelings for Felipe that I can't help but fell for him as well.

"I saw in a documentary once that the average person watches about one hundred and fifty very bad movies in their lives. This was our first. There are still a lot ahead of us,” he says.'

🌈Rita :-Hands down to the wonderful mom , we Stan a queen! Ohh boy she is total cute , funny mom and I love Felipe and her mother relationship so much , because it's hard to find in y/a nowadays . The whole coming out scene was so sweet but if only I have courage to tell my parents *sigh*

This is what I mean when I say that Rita is a mom goal.

"No problem at all. You know, I was almost a lesbian myself for a while in college.”

Here is the exact line Felipe said about Becky :-

"She has dark brown skin, and her curly hair is tied in a ponytail at the very top of her head. She’s wearing a pair of earrings with Darth Vader’s helmet on them. Her oversized sweatshirt says BITCH, DON’T KILL MY VIBE, and her tight jeans have a galaxy pattern on them.
I immediately decide I want to be this girl."

Omg can I marry that girl? Her chaotic gay energy took over the entire book the moment she was introduced and she is literally the bff goal. Becky and Melissa is perfect example of chaotic gay energy × shy gay energy couple.

While Becky is confident and chatty Melissa is quiet and very shy.They are so different from each other, but when they were introduced together , they seem like the coolest pair in the whole world.

I need a second part. Like pretty seriously!

I mean I need to know what happens to them. It's just the beginning of the story, don't you think?

I mean I need to know Caio's mom's reaction to this whole story. I need it.

But otherwise this is the book that I really needed!

Forget Red White and Royal Blue. Forget Heartstoppers. Forget Simon Vs The Homo Sapiens Agenda.

For a while I mean.

Just read this cute, funny story!

I love the two main characters so freaking amazing! Cute wise, slow burn romance wise and yes, as character wise!


I love how broken (well not that kind of broken but talking about insecurities, yes that kind of broken because I have been there!) both these characters actually turn out to be but finding themselves the perfect ones to confide to.

I love Felipe's nerdiness!!!!

Plainly speaking, he's just the nerd who loves chilling with his mom. By the way, one of the coolest, honest fictional moms ever in young adult books I say. She's so extra but she's an amazing person! I loved knowing her.

And....yes, I love Caio. The way Felipe's head over heels for his childhood friend who he hasn't talked to for years. They live in the same building by the way.

I love the plot. It's so simply planned and executed so well.

I wanted more of this story. It feels like I have read only half the book when it ended. But yes, it still worked out perfect.

I love the other side characters as well! Caio's bestie, Becky and her girlfriend, Melissa. They are wonderful characters indeed.

One of those few young adult books in which you find the characters quite real and not that extra extra.

I loved how the writing clears up about the various misconceptions regarding body image, coming out issues, sexuality, therapy and bullying. These issues were handled quite well.

Like I said before. I. Need. A. Sequel. ASAP.

This was a very sweet and heartwarming story. It deals with some serious subjects, such as fat shaming, body image, homophobia, bullying, insecurities and anxiety, but it never felt too heavy to me. I actually found it very relatable and I loved how positive and uplifting it was.

This is mostly due to our main character Felipe, whose POV we're reading. He is such a fun and quirky character, but also very authentic. His insecurities with his body image felt very real. It wasn't always easy to read about how he felt about his body and it might be triggering to those who can relate. However, I think it was done well and I loved seeing how things changed for him as the story progressed.

Caio is just as sweet and endearing as Felipe. I loved the relationship between them. It was so cute and made me smile more than once. I loved how it developed gradually and how they were able to talk about everything.

There are some great side characters, too. I absolutely loved Felipe's mom. The relationship between her and Felipe is pretty amazing. I loved how supportive she is, but also quirky in her own way. I also really liked the support he got from his therapist, as well as Becky and Melissa.

"Quinze Dias", do Vitor Martins é um livro bem interessante de um ponto de vista mais técnico. E bem divertido de ler, falando só como leitor.

Dá para perceber que o Vitor de fato lê livros Young Adult, e que, de certo modo, foram eles a escola de formação para a sua estreia na literatura com o Quinze Dias. Pode ser impressão, mas senti, principalmente no começo, um diálogo mais forte com "Simon Vs. A Agenda Homo Sapiens", da Becky Albertalli. No modo de estruturar as informações, dar andamento à trama. Mas, sinceramente, achei "Quinze Dias" bastante superior ao livro da Becky Albertalli em termos de personagens e entretenimento.

Gostei da decisão de delimitar a trama aos tais quinze dias, porque isso cria um senso de finitude legal pro leitor, o que contribui com o fechamento psicológico da história. Achei que o autor lidou bem com um texto mais curto, já que a história não perde o fôlego. Aliás, embora tenha gostado do livro desde o início, dá para sentir que com a entrada da Beca o texto ganha um ritmo diferente, como se o autor se soltasse junto com a personagem mais doidinha e fan favorite do livro.

Falando em personagens, o Vitor escolheu trabalhar com poucos. Mas achei todos eficientes dentro de seus papéis. Talvez o Caio, por ser visto pelo filtro da idealização do Felipe, tenha ficado na fronteira entre personagem e pessoinha de verdade, mas foi legal ver, tanto nele quanto nos demais, como o Vitor distribuiu os pontos fortes e as vulnerabilidades de cada um. A mãe do Felipe, aliás, para mim compete de igual para igual com a Beca na categoria "personagens mais divertidas da história".

Hum! Um ponto interessante é que conheço o Vitor pessoalmente e o Felipe não me pareceu um mero desdobramento do Vitor. Pareceu uma outra pessoa, com uma voz própria, o que achei legal. Não sei como o Vitor trabalhou isso na cabeça dele, mas depois pergunto.

Gostei da "moral" de que a vida dos outros pode parecer perfeita de longe, mas basta olhar de perto para descobrir que todo mundo tem seus problemas. Gostei também desses problemas não se resolverem todos ao fim do livro. O arco narrativo é realmente do Felipe e trabalha seu dilema de aceitação pelo fato de ser gordo, sofrer um bullying violento por conta disso e achar que ninguém jamais o acharia bonito. Embora eu esteja no extremo oposto da situação, me identifiquei com a questão de deixar que vejam seu corpo, andar sem camisa, e coisas do tipo. Então para mim funcionou direitinho.

Enfim, dava para falar um monte aqui de cada ponto, mas o resumo é: achei a estreia do Vitor Martins bola dentro total. estava sentindo falta de um Y.A. divertido assim.

Sometimes I fall in love with a book, and I fell head over heels with this one. I’m totally utterly smitten! I couldn’t put it down on a quiet Saturday night and a rainy and windy Sunday. It’s cute, I laughed out loud, like almost every page, and the writing is flawless and captivating.

Felipe is a fat seventeen-year-old. He’s not chubby, husky, or big-boned. He’s heavy, takes up space (for two people), and people look funny at him on the street. He’s self-conscious as hell, shy, and being bullied because of his posture. He’s also kind-hearted and funny, incredibly funny.

Caio is a sweet and well-mannered boy who wanted to stay home during his parents’ vacation, but his mom wouldn’t let him. So he gets stuck in Felipe’s house and never complains, not even once.

Felipe has a crush on Caio for a long time but doesn’t believe he has a chance:
He’s way out of my league. It’s like being in love with the lead singer of your favorite boy band: All you can do is watch from afar and dream.

At the start, Felipe and Caio are behaving clumsily around each other. Like Felipe says:
I wonder how people used to avoid awkward silence before smartphones were invented.

Slowly, Felipe opens up, especially during the night when the boys talk, and they find out they have a lot in common. I adored the five-minute talk Felipe and Caio had at the end of the story. So if you want to fall in love with a book, please read this one! It’s such a cute, sweet and funny story, and it’s worth it!

Vitor, I want to read more of your work, and I really, really hope other books will also be translated into English. Besides, I want to compliment the translator Larissa Helena. The flawless writing is thanks to you too!

Here the Whole Time literally made me happy cry.

From its dedication, which read, “For anyone who has ever gotten into a pool with their shirt on,” I knew this book was for me. I haven't found a book that spoke to me so directly in a while.

At school, Felipe is teased constantly about his weight. He knows there are people in his home country of Brazil with bigger problems, but he can’t think about those because of the constant abuse he takes from his classmates, even the stares from people on the street. He's just so tired of being self-conscious all the time.

Winter break is nearly here and he’s looking forward to two weeks away from the hell of school, of doing little but binge-watching Netflix. But that excitement dies quickly when he learns that Caio, a boy who lives in his apartment building, will be staying with Felipe and his mother while his parents are on vacation.

Felipe has had a crush on Caio for as long as he can remember. They even used to be friends when they were younger, until Felipe became self-conscious about his weight. But Caio is handsome and there’s no way he’d be interested in him. For Felipe, who is painfully shy about how he looks, to have to share a room with his crush for two weeks, will be torture. Or will it?

Having struggled with my weight for most of my life, especially in high school, I felt this story so strongly. I loved these characters and their laughs and struggles and fears, what it feels like to be the target of ridicule and even better, how magical it feels to click with someone.

Like with rom-coms, you know what will happen here but you enjoy the journey of getting there. Vitor Martins created such a terrifically beautiful story. This was just so special, funny, and lovely. I'll be thinking of Here the Whole Time for a long time!

Ever since I heard about this gay YA book being translated into English I needed it in my hands. We don't get a lot of YA translations, and even fewer queer YA translations, but I'm super curious about what growing up queer is like for teens around the world. No experience is the same, and I feel like most YA lit is very americanised, so it's great to see non-English language writers being given a wider audience.

I thought this was a beautiful and quick read with a main character who's easy to love. It wasn't the most complex of YA books, and considering that body positivity is clearly a big marketing strategy for this publication I think it could've done even more with that - maybe starting with actually showing the main character's fatness on the cover (which neither the UK nor the US editions does) - but I hope this leads more publishers to consider that fat queer teens and teens with body issues exist and have equally important and interesting and valid stories to tell as any other person.
One of the things I enjoyed most was the mother-son relationship, and the fact that both the love interest and the main characters love books. I also enjoyed the friendships and that we saw even more queer characters. The discussion of mental health and the main character's visits to his therapist were in my opinion really well done. I think this book will appeal to many readers and find lots of fans, simply because it's a cute and easy-going book with a positive message. Hoping to read more from this author in the future.

This book has such a high rating that I'm really getting curious about it!
I mean it's LGBTQ+ and features two boys (or at least one) falling in love.
Also I think Felipe might turn out to be one of the most relatable characters ever.
I mean just look at that quote from the blurb:

"His plans include catching up on his favorite TV shows, finishing his to-be-read pile, and watching YouTube tutorials on skills he'll never actually put into practice.

If that's not relatable af then I don't know. *lol*

Just thinking about this book makes me want to cry with joy, especially knowing its made so many readers out there feel seen. I'm so happy that its been translated into English!

This dedication alone gave me a pause; even before beginning I knew it was going to be incredibly important.

~★~ What is this book about? ~★~

Felipe is a seventeen year old constantly battling with himself over his body image and weight. His mother announces that Caio, their quiet neighbor, will be staying with them for 15 days through winter break. This is troubling for Felipe considering he’s had a crush on Caio since they were kids. What was meant to be days of relaxation quickly turn into a journey of self discovery and overcoming insecurities.

Felipe was such a lovely protagonist. He was funny and relatable in his worries, making it really great to follow his gradual character development. Caio was so sweet; he starts off quiet and polite, but with some encouragement can become quite lively. Their eventual romance made me so happy, especially with all of the body positivity brought up in conversation between the boys.

While all of the characters were really great, I wanted a little more from the actual story. There wasn’t much of a plot besides Felipe and Caio lounging around the house and/or exploring the town. These events can all be attributed to their character development, though I still wished for more to look forward to besides the hinted at romance. The ending felt a little abrupt too, but I enjoyed it nonetheless.

For a short book (less than 300 pages), Here the Whole Time accomplishes a lot! I became really attached to both Felipe and Caio, and truly appreciated the messages about body image. It’s great to see an overweight protagonist represented in YA, as its far too uncommon considering the amount of teens that would be able to relate and see themselves within characters like Felipe. Overall this was a really heartwarming book!

nothing like a book you can zoom through in one sitting in only two hours!! this book was sooo funny and surprisingly relatable. it was real without being too painful or dark, and had a great progression of the two characters' relationship despite the book's short length. i also loved the main character's mom and all the conversations in this book were so real and sweet. Also normalizing therapy??? this is definitely a solid recommendation for anyone, but especially gay teens who may be going through bullying for their size.

By the end of the first chapter I had already fallen in love with the main character. One of the great things about reading is sometimes you just totally click with a fictional character even though you might not have much in common with them. Felipe is someone worth knowing and I strongly encourage all the young adult fiction fans to give this book a look.

Felipe is 17 years old and lives with his single mother in Brazil. He gets picked on at school for his weight so he is thrilled a school break is coming up so he doesn't have to deal with the bullying for awhile. His mom drops a bombshell on him when she informs Felipe that Caio, the kid his age in their apartment building, will be staying with them while his parents are on vacation. Felipe has a major crush on Caio and now he is expected to share a bedroom with him for two weeks? Hmm... this should be interesting especially since Felipe is shy when he's around Caio.

As someone who is painfully shy, I totally related to Felipe's dilemma of finding it difficult to carry on a conversation with Caio. I loved the discussions Felipe had with his therapist on the subject and how to set goals to make it a bit easier in the future. It might sound strange for the outgoing and talkative folks, but having somewhat of a game plan before starting a conversation can be very helpful for those of us who tend to get tongue tied when speaking to people we aren't completely at ease with yet.

One of the things I loved about this book is it captured those awkward teen years quite well. You don't necessarily have to be an overweight, gay teenage boy from Brazil to relate to much of what Felipe is going through. I think that's an age in which you have a pretty good idea of the person you want to be, but you might not have the inner confidence to really project that out into the world yet. I haven't set foot in a classroom for two decades, but reading this book brought me back to all that teenage angst.

One of my favorite YA reads in recent memory. A great balance of humor and heart.

I'm so happy that this book got translated and that I got the chance to read it!
First of all, let's talk about the cover. It's perfection, have you ever seen anything more beautiful?
But I know you're reading this review to know more about the book, so here it goes.

This book is about Felipe and his long-time crush on his neighbor Caio. Felipe is a fat boy who just can't wait to finally be free from school and enjoy his winter break in peace in the comfort of his own home. But plans change and Felipe suddenly finds himself sharing a room with Caio for 15 days while Caio's parents are away on a trip. Sharing your room with your crush is all kinds of scary and Felipe doesn't know how to cope and how to approach and talk to Caio. But little by little the two of them get close to each other and a beautiful and lovely friendship begins. But is it all? Or maybe there's more between the two of them?

This tender and lovely story is told in the most heart-warming way and the whole book just conveys a multitude of positive and great messages. It is full of very important themes that the author deals with in an excellent way in my opinion. The themes include bullying due to fatphobia and homophobia and body insecurity. Also, I really appreciated how openly and sincerely the author talked about the importance of therapy. Last, but definitely not least, I loved how loving Felipe's home is, his mother is such a supportive and caring parent and reading their interactions just warmed my heart.

If you're looking for a sweet and lovely YA book, this is the story for you.

Quinze Dias não só é um livro lindo e muito bem escrito, ele é também um dos livros mais necessários que eu já li. É sensível, é engraçado, é real, tem choques de realidade e coisas que me fizeram questionar preconceitos e comportamentos, bem como me deram outra perspectiva sobre dificuldades pelas quais muitas pessoas queridas passam.

Felipe é um protagonista cativante e engraçado e é realmente um protagonista, essa história é dele. Caio foi o par ideal pra ele, e trouxe junto a Beca e a Melissa. E não só isso, todos os personagens são importantes e tem características que fazem a gente se lembrar deles com carinho. Eu RI ALTO em vários momentos do livro e teve pelo menos um dos "dias" que voltei pra ler mais uma vez.

O mercado nacional estava carente de um romance LGBT bom DE VERDADE, e Quinze Dias preenche essa vaga com vantagem. Mas não só isso, muito mais do que um YA sobre amor, esse livro é sobre como é difícil crescer e como o mundo é muito mais cruel com umas pessoas do que com outras.

Se você está se perguntando se vai gostar desse livro, a resposta é sim. E eu nunca vou enfatizar o suficiente: você. precisa. ler. esse. livro. Sorriso no rosto e lágrimas nos olhos da dedicatória até o final dos agradecimentos.

Não precisava do livro pra chegar nessa conclusão (o youtube e as ilustrações já dão uma boa dica), mas Quinze Dias deixa claro que o Vitor tem uma sensibilidade fora do comum. Gênio.

I received my Rainbow Crate yesterday, so I finally had my copy of this book I've been so highly anticipating, and I dove in right away. I heard such good things about it, but I was not prepared for how incredibly relatable this book would be. It starts off super awkward and ends up being extremely sweet and wholesome, and I loved the entire experience.

But the main reason for that is the fat masculine representation. This was probably my first time reading about a fat queer boy in YA, and I was not prepared for all the thoughts it would invoke about how fatness relates to gender. This book helped me sort through so many feelings relating to my gender and made me feel so seen.

I also really loved the fat rep specifically because it doesn't shy away from the feelings of self hate fat people tend to internalize. Because we see so many messages of body positivity, but it's not always that simple, and it's a lifelong journey. It felt so validating to see the negative sides of being fat portrayed as well, especially because there was such a good balance to the book: it didn't shy away from negativity and heavier themes, but at the same time it was never a heavy book.

I'm mourning everything that has been lost in translation and I felt this book reads itself in a rather juvenile tone but isn't badly-written by any means. I love it more when the kids in my household speaks normally, I've had enough of ya protagonists talking in metaphors. 2012 tumblr kids, don't @me. This book is a comfort read, and it has great characters, also a very heartwarming story that melted me. This little gem of a story made me grin like an Idiot and I wasn't the one was falling in love miserably for the first time.Felipe, the protagonist of Here the Whole Time, is my basically my soulmate. While he's not the most I've related with any character, I'm glad to have met, Felipe, a quiet teenager with insecurities and no tragic past. Reading this book from his point of view was a pleasant experience to say the least.



Felipe is a seventeen years old boy with a heart of gold, and his teenage life is a cycle of switching from an interest to another, being insecure , getting bullied in school, having a life long crush on his gorgeous neighbours' boy, and living in the teenage paradox in general. Now, you see, It's story as simple as Organic Chemistry . It's vacation. He has plans for the vacation ; being inside his room, watching important videos on YouTube (DIYs he'll never try), binging Netflix, and reading books. But, alas! suddenly, as the vacation starts, his mother announces that the neighbours' boy he'd once been friends with and lost touch somehow and who's perfect andwho he has a crush on is going to come over for 15 days, and will be staying in his room (really,mom?).



Apparently the gorgeous boy's parents are out of the country and his mother insisted Rita, Felipe's mom take cares of the gorgeous boy,Caio. The issue? Fe's mom tells him this five mins before his crush was supposed to come over. The bigger issue? You see, he'll have to stay with his his crush for fifteen whole days, after all. And the story proceeds with insecure good soul and his crush living with him under the same roof, and Here the whole time exactly gives you what it promises. It is humorous, heartwarming, absolutely readable, and I can't recommend this enough to the readers who prefer the genre of this book and are looking for a good time.


I love Felipe and Caio, and their adorable relationship. I don't want to spoil you by talking about it but their relationship was much improved and the characters' arc was quite impressive. Rita suddenly has become one of my favourite fictional characters, this women is the coolest mom in the history of all cool moms. My entire time reading this book, I was busy quoting everything that came out of her mouth. Also I absolutely enjoyed Becca and Melissa. They were such great friends. Where do I buy one. The setting felt like home, don't remind me I'm 15915 km away from Brazil. Keeping in mind that my very much like me, the protagonist like to make a list I made one as well, the next section will be full of a list. Why, you are welcome.

Reading this book didn't feel like reading, it felt like i was talking to someone and they were telling me their story, about a new and unusual experience they had a while ago. It felt familiar, i don't know why but i loved this book more because of it.
When Rainbow Rowell recommended this book, I knew I had to read it and I'm so glad I did because this book is a must read.


There are so many things I love about this book, so I'm just gonna talk about them here.


First of all, the way Martins talks about body image is absolutely refreshing. There are so many books that discuss about body insecurities but this one felt so personal even though i could never relate to the protagonist, Felipe, in fact we're exact opposites. But maybe in a way we are similar because body shaming is body shaming, it doesn't matter if the person is fat or skinny. So I totally understood what this person was going through and how he thought of himself and how he imagined other people thought of him. Like he is nothing but a fatty. Like it doesn't matter how loving, caring, intelligent, funny or smart he is, the only thing that matters is that when people see him all they see is a fat body. That is all that defines him. I love how this book gives the message that until you don't stop seeing yourself in that perspective it doesn't matter what the other person sees or thinks, you'll always feel insecure about your body. I wish I could've read this book in high school.

I love the way Martins talks about therapy, so openly and genuinely. For once it was great to read how Felipe didn't only like going to therapy, he always looked forward to it. Like it wasn't something he had to go through. It was something that always made him feel better, helped him figure things out and just gave him confidence.

Martins talks about bullying in such a realistic way, I mean the experience was so real it crushed me. And the fact that Felipe could never stand up to it but the moment he was with his friends and his urge to defend them from bullying made him speak up says a lot about his character. I absolutely loved that moment.

Felipe is gay and totally accepts it and owns it.

I also adored Felipe's home's environment. The way he could be completely himself at home. Specially because of his mom, my God his mom is the coolest and kindest parent I've read in a YA book. Felipe could talk to her about anything and she was always so supportive and straightforward about it. And their daily fun routines like "Musical Wednesdays"! OMG can I please visit them?? She just made the story more fun and heartwarming.

It was amazing to read how one person can change so much in only fifteen days! If they go through something unusual and decide to change things themselves. It was astounding.

Can we talk about how cute the romance was and how real? I mean the moment Caio showed up in the book, i was rooting for them. They were so awkward around each other in the start and then gradually starting opening up to each other and they did in their own cute way. And then they became so easy with each other, it was like they've been together for a long time, not fifteen days! I mean they were just a perfect pair.

I really, really loved the side characters in this book. Felipe's mom, Caio's best friend Becky and her girlfriend Melissa. Every character written so flawlessly and authentically, I feel like I know them and this book wouldn't be complete about them.

And all the pop culture references? I mean how could i NOT love this book when they're talking about Harry Styles and Harry Potter and Hunger Games?? All of my favourite stuff! This is why I think a lot of teens would love this book and relate to it.

The ending is so perfectly written, I couldn't ask for anything else. But I also feel like Vitor Martins could easily do a sequel. I mean it just feels like the start of the story, I would love to see how Caio's mom reacts to his relationship with Felipe and how does Caio and Felipe overcome their fears of being bullied. I mean there's a LOT. But at the same time this book is so perfect i would hate it if the sequel turns out to be disappointing. So i think it's better to leave it just as it is. Perfect.


Overall it's such a lovely, heartwarming and cute YA book. And I can't believe it was so short and there are so many themes and important issues discussed. And in such a flawless way, I'm in awe!

If you're looking for a cute Queer YA book, this is it. And if you're not I still think everyone should give it a chance, like I said this book is a must read.

Não sei explicar como esse livro mexeu comigo, de verdade. Sentei para ler de cabo a rabo em fevereiro, um mês que foi sincera e completamente horrível pra mim, e Quinze dias foi, com certeza, a famosa luz no fim do túnel — ou pelo menos um ponto positivo em meio a vários negativos. Conhecendo o Vitor, eu sabia que seria um livro maravilhoso, mas confesso que superou todas as minhas expectativas (biased? jamais). O romance entre Caio e Felipe é do tipo que qualquer um fica feliz em encontrar num YA, e eu acho que, levando em consideração os temas que são abordados aqui, essa é uma história necessária no cenário jovem adulto nacional.

Como li antes do lançamento, pretendo reler assim que tiver o livro EM MÃOS, mas não acho que minha opinião vá mudar. Quinze dias já é um clássico LGBT, o livro jovem adulto que a gente precisa neste momento.

Mulheres que foram dormir duas da manhã porque não conseguiram parar de ler esse livro me add.

Quinze Dias é tão gracinha, mas tão gracinha que eu tô sorrindo enquanto escrevo essa resenha. O livro relata esses quinze dias das férias de julho em que o Felipe é obrigado a passar com o seu vizinho, Caio, seu crush eterno e reluzente. Daí o Felipe vira a cara do desespero, porque ele é super ansioso, não consegue nem falar com o menino direito e não vai mais poder passar as férias vendo Netflix (uma grande tragédia, realmente).

O livro é narrado pelo próprio Felipe e, ó, eu acho que essa é a minha parte favorita sobre a obra. Tem uns livros em primeira pessoa que nem faria tanta diferença assim se a narração fosse em terceira, mas em Quinze Dias isso não só é importante, como também dá um tempero especial pra história. É muito fácil mergulhar (e rir muito) com o raciocínio do Felipe, entendendo cada vez mais como ele enxerga o mundo, suas inseguranças e medos. A escrita flui muito bem e é realmente muito difícil parar até pra beber água.

O Vitor tratou de tantos temas de uma forma tão delicada, mas sem deixar de dar a devida importância, o que me deixou muito, muito, muuuuuito satisfeita com o livro. As reflexões do Felipe sobre ser gordo (que dão uns quotes ótimo pra esfregar na cara de uns @ por aí), os forninhos que o Caio precisa segurar com sua mãe e até mesma essa representação incrível de um adolescente ansioso (sério, amei, muito relacionável) dão um toque importantíssimo pro livro e fazem de Quinze Dias um HINO DOS ROMANCINHOS FOFURA!!!

Gostei também de ver personagens não-brancos (porque né, sempre vou reclamar de histórias só com gente branca, rs), inclusive AMO MUITO A BECA E VOU PROTEGÊ-LA!
Também tô apaixonada pela Rita, quero ser ela quando eu crescer (seriam as quartas musicais a melhor invenção dessa vida????). Na real, eu gostei muito de todos os personagens, porque estão todos muito bem caracterizados e AAAAAAAAA!!!

É sempre muito bom ver um livro assim que tem toda essa importância de representatividade e ainda por cima é BR!!!! Nada contra gringos (mentira, tenho várias coisas contra, rs), mas ler uma literatura jovem assim que representa pequenas coisinhas da nossa vivência como brasileiros deixa tudo mil vezes mais mágico, recomendo.

O livro é curto, a leitura é rápida, mas a história continua com você, esquentando seu coração por um bom tempo. Corre pra ler Quinze Dias, gente!

P.S.: Ainda um pouco abalada pela opinião do Caio sobre Rouge, mas tudo bem, vou superar essa dor.

I was a fat queer kid and I wish that this book had been around when I was a teen! There is so much in this book that I can relate to but the one thing that stood out was watching the other kids .... in the pool.

Let me back up a bit. "Here The Whole Time" is about Felipe. He's about to begin a holiday from school... where he's bullied and name-called... and his mother surprises him by announcing one morning that their neighbor, Caio is going to be sharing his room for a few weeks.

This wouldn't be a problem except that Felipe has had a crush on Caio for ages...and now he's going to be sharing a room with him. Things start off with a bang when Felipe emerges from the bathroom in a towel that only partially covers him and finds Caio waiting on his bed. He yells at him to get out... and thus begins their time staying together.

I was absolutely touched by Felipe. As the main character he is authentic, well-written, and loveable. I didn't feel sorry for him - I felt empathy for him and I think that's really important. Beneath his insecurity and shyness, he's a really loveable, funny, and quirky person. Sometimes though, the way we feel about ourselves... those insecurities about our appearance can lead us to hide from the people who want to know us.

There is a great cast of supporting characters as well. Felipe's mother is a lovely creation! She's supportive and funny and quite original in her own way. Caio's arrival brings along his friends as well... a diverse set of queer characters that are enchanting and educational at the same time (and no, it's not preachy at all). There's even a remarkable list of Queer people who have had a role in our history!

This book is in large part about growing up and becoming the person we are meant to be. Along the way, our friendships evolve and change, and we aren't always able to see why that is happening. And what if our insecurities don't allow us to really connect with people? Felipe has some challenges, yes, but this story is about the journey to accepting yourself and allowing people in.

I would gladly add this book to any YA collection... and it's certainly a healing balm for people like me who were fat kids! (I'm still a fat kid at heart!)

Resolvi falar o porque eu amei esse livro, como o Felipe faria, por lista.

1. Sempre tive problema de peso e apesar de só ser obesa a uns 3 anos (medicamente falando), ler um protagonista gordo me fez muito bem.
2. Me reconheci em várias coisas em varios personagens. Pedi as contas de quantas vezes pensei "nossa, muito eu"
3. Principalmente com a vida social do Felipe (ou a falta dela)
4. Fiquei com muita saudade da época que conheci meu atual namorado quando eu tinha 15 anos. Toda essa neura com o peso quando se apaixona foi muito eu de novo.
5. Percebi que ter estudado em uma escola cheia de diversidade solvou minha adolescêncial e me fez uma adulta melhor.
6. A empatia foi tão forte com os personagens que chorei tanto nos momentos tristes quanto no felizes.
7. E apesar de ser a pessoa com menos humorada do mundo, ri umas quatro vezes alto (isso é muito pro meu padrão mesmo, ainda mais de TPM).

Fico imaginando que a Jessika de 12 anos que chegava correndo da escola para comer bolo e ler Harry Potter ia amar muito esse livro. E fico feliz de outros jovens terem essa oportunidade hoje.

A quiet book about Felipe, a 17 year old lonely boy who feels ashamed because of his body, and suffers under cruel bullies in his class.
But at the same time it's a heartwarming book about Felipe, who finds friends, slowly takes steps to overcome his anxiousness and fears, and falls in love with his 18 year old neighbor Caio.
It's beautiful and so very special. Loved it as much as the first time.

This book is wonderful and unique.
It's written in first pov of Felipe, a fat, gay 17 year old boy, who struggles because of his body with his self esteem, is bullied, has anxiety, is shy. He loves his mom and is sweet.
But he doesn't know how to cope with the fact, that his 18 year old neighbor /crush is going to live with them for 15 days.
Vitor Martins wrote such a beautiful story!
