#1 bestselling author with the US-based Lucky Shores romantic suspense series and the Ryan Kaine military action thrillers, and creator of the popular DCI Jones Casebook series of police procedurals, Kerry J Donovan was born in Dublin, before spending many formative years in West Wales.

Kerry earned a first-class honours degree in Human Biology and a PhD in Sport and Exercise Sciences. A former scientific advisor to The Office of the Deputy Prime Minister, he helped UK emergency first-responders prepare for chemical and biological attacks in the wake of the 9/11 atrocities. This background adds a keen scientific edge to Kerry’s writing.

Kerry’s life experiences help him add an extra layer of realism to his stories and his characters. For example, readers will discover the water-borne adventures of his action hero, Ryan Kaine, a former member of the Royal Navy’s Special Boat Services, as authentic and exciting as a night-time dip in the Bay of Biscay.

As the owner of a “pristine” Honda NC750X, you’ll often find him touring the less well-known regions of Europe in search of interesting locations for his novels. A life-long sports enthusiast and open-water swimmer, the moment Kerry catches a glimpse of the ocean, it’s off with the bike leathers and on with his wetsuit.

A citizen of the world, Kerry recently returned from spending two decades living in the heart of rural Brittany and now lives with Margaret in a recently renovated bungalow in Nottinghamshire, UK.

When not writing, Kerry enjoys riding his motorbike, jogging, swimming, spending time with his four wonderful grandchildren, and travelling the world.

Always, yes always impressed with Kerry's books, and I really enjoy the Ryan Kaine series, one of my favourites.

Here we have Ryan Kaine number 13, and this is a book I have been waiting for since the end of book 1. A really a deadly game of cat and mouse reaches an explosive climax.

Ryan Kaine's pursuit of justice takes a dangerous turn as he targets Gregory Enderby, deputy head of the National Counter Terrorism Agency. Kaine's audacious plan to abduct Enderby and uncover the truth behind the Grey Notice on his head leads to a series of high-stakes confrontations and shocking revelations.

As Kaine and his team navigate a web of corruption reaching the highest levels of government, they must outwit not only Enderby but also the mysterious Jay Wyndham and his ruthless Praetorian Guard.

With each move, the stakes grow higher and the danger more intense.

One of the most detailed, intricate of all the Ryan Kaine series, one that has built up since the start of the series, the story continues from the last action packed story and comes to a massive and explosive ending. A lovely touch near the end of the book, brought a tear to my eye.

Loved this book, I think the longest in the series, but filled with great twists.

A definite must read book and series!

I have been hooked on this series since the first book, and the stories just keep getting better and better. I love the quirky characters (the good ones that is!), the suspense, drama, humor, as well as the intriguing twists and turns in every book. It's certainly a must read book and series!
I would highly recommend that you start this series from the beginning. Most of the books have a main plot that will be completed at the end of that story. However, there is also another plot that continues throughout the series simultaneously with the main one. I hesitate to call it a secondary plot, because it is the basis for this entire series. Due to the original plot continuing throughout the series, it is imperative that you read all of the books, as well as in the order that they're listed. This will give you a better understanding of the characters, connections, the ever changing situations, and the dynamics between all of them. They're all absolutely fantastic stories, and you definitely won't be disappointed.
I would definitely recommend this book, series, and exceptional author.

I really hope that there will be many more stories in this series in the near future! Can't wait!

I'm not easy to please when it comes to the "thriller" genre. When I started this series, I was a bit challenged with accepting the use of British dialectic terms. Then I realized that readers in the United Kingdom are probably just as challenged with American "thriller" writers. That said, I quickly became absorbed in the storyline and plot, and found that I no longer noticed the dialect. I very much enjoyed each of the books in this series, and like other reviewers, I hope there is a concluding, final edition that brings peace to our "hero" for all of suffering he endured at the hands of those who prioritize riches and the will to power, above all else. We don't have to look very far these days to see blatant corruption in government; and at the highest levels. So it wasn't difficult for me to accept what was happening to our main character, "Mr. Kaine." This was an enjoyable series and Kerry Donovan is a talented writer. I have pushed the "follow the author" button and will look forward to more of his work.

Just finished all 13 of the Ryan Kaine series. I'm not sure how reading one in the middle without the background from the previous would have been. It seems to build from a foundation that continues throughout. That being said, I thoroughly enjoyed the series. Its fun to read a book that the good guy always wins and always completely destroys the bad guys. Ryan is certainly a fun protagonist as he has skills that are always head and shoulders above his enemies. Great fun! I wouldn't say the series has a mind bending plot that requires full attention with various unexpected twists but, that's not what I thought when I first picked it up. I just wanted a fun read with enough development of characters, interesting flow and some cool technology. The books are also well written, well edited and are thoroughly professionally produced. I'll be reading more from Mr. Donovan.

I hope this series never ends !!! Loved it !!! ❤❤❤

I truly hope that there is more for Ryan Kaine to do !!! What an absolutely amazing book !!!
The story of Captain Kaine continues, with the next steps of cancellation of the dreaded ," Grey notice " , that gives anyone, anyone at all leave to kill Kaine on sight !!!
But Kaine and all of his friends will get further into the truth then before .
I absolutely love this series !!! So much intrigue, and heart pumping action kept me on the edge of my seat until the very end !!!! So looking forward to the next in this stunningly accurate , action adventure !!!

I have given 4 stars rather than five, reason being I felt there was a touch too much American style to the book with unnecessary dribble regarding the other characters which dampened the excitement of it all.
On a positive note, although the book was fiction it was good to see a comment made of the hassle it takes in getting in to see a doctor. With that bit I truly support, otherwise another good book and I look forward to more coming out.

Need to read it again

I read this in chunks so it was a bit more confusing than the actual story line.
I don't think this was as good as his earlier books; too much doing with no respite so it felt like one long slog.
I will read it again and not in bits this time. Can't wait for more of series to be audible.

Great series

I love the way Ryan keeps adding members to the team, an already interesting cast of characters. I hope there will be more to come. After all there were over 80 original victims!

Excellent read as usual

The title was interesting and the path the story took equally so. It took me until the end to see the play on words! I liked how the details were tied up and still the door left open for more stories. Nice work Mr. Donovan.

Excellent wrapup of this excellent series.

With the usual fast-moving action, and a series of very cleverly crafted plot twists, this book fulfills the promise of the Ryan Kaine/Lara Orchad stories.

Top notch

A riveting read from start to finish. A little far fetched at times but it was hard to put down. Kerry Donovan is a super author with a style like a mixture of James Patterson and Lee Childs.

Another winner!! Mr. Donovan continues the odessey of Ryan Kaine.

This book was a little more difficult for me to get into, however once it got rolling, I could not put it down. I almost hope something else happens to Kaine so that there will be more books in the series.

Another riveting page turner, Kerry never ceases to draw in the reader to the world he creates, and to make the whole scenario believable, and entertaining at the same time.

Whatever happened to Ryan Kaine?

Boring and such a disappointment after the brilliant series up to this point. Could almost have been written by another person. Ryan Kaine barely features in the book.

Not as exciting or compelling as others in the series.

I liked the book, but it didn't flow as well as earlier ones. It served to resolve some issues, and allow for the series to answer some questions.

Justice

Kaine tends to the steps necessary to clear his name! The beginning steps from this book include getting the proof on corrupt government officials. The twists and turns of this process keep you reading intently to see how it works out!!

government BS as always

Anytime the government is involved, there is crime! Everyone one is out for themselves! I really don’t enjoy a story about government affairs! I know it’s part of the series, but it’s one I didn’t enjoy.
