Maple Bacon Mayhem is the second book in the Molly Sweetwater series. Molly is once again considered a suspect when a fellow shop owner is found dead in a barrel of syrup with her taffy as a clue. Molly is more offended and hurt when Jake the lead detective and someone she has been dating I believe asks her questions and motive around the death. Molly works to clear her name and find out who the real killer is with the help of her sister and best friend.

The book was a little bit like the first where we had repetitiveness of what color Molly's eyes were or the color and style of Poppy's hair was. I like description but at times it can seem like too much. Also, like the first book as soon as the town suspects Molly as being a murderer no one comes to her shop and then at the end when it is revealed she's not the murderer everyone is coming back into her shop to show how sorry they were. I don't know what the future books look like but I hope she is not the main suspect in every book and the town turns on her every time. I do like the relationship building between Molly and Jack and would like to see that build. I did enjoy the book just want a bit more and not too much repeating.

a little too much like the first one

I do hope that all of your books don’t have Molly pegged as the murderer and the town staying away from her shop, as well as the tourist it is only the second one of them I have read and already find it tedious. Oh and don’t make it her best friend or sister🤦🏽‍♀️

I enjoyed this book. My only concern is the overload on sugary comments. Perhaps it's because I am male. Otherwise, the story is well written, the suspense is well done and the characters are becoming more beloved to me with each story. The plot is easily followed, and Molly is stuck with the town thinking she is a murderer yet again. What is wrong with a small town assuming the worst of it's inhabitants? Sounds to me like far too many people are willing to think the worst of their neighbors. Regardless of my gripes, I do recommend this book and feel it earned the four stars I gave it.

Maple Bacon Mayhem (A Molly Sweetwater Cozy Mystery)

Great story line. The characters are all very relational and caring. The Mystery keeps you guessing. Just the moment you think you know the killer, no not that character. You move on, and on! The Harry shop is so well described you can smell it and taste it. Enjoy!

Too wordy!

I don't like the author's style of writing. She's entirely too wordy, for me. I read one of her other books and as soon as I started this I realized if was an author I didn't like. I hope to remember her name in the future!

Fun cozy mystery

Enjoyed reading about this girl who can't keep her feet in her taffy shop, instead of nosing into investigations. Her bacon maple taffy does sound good - no fair, we can't get some. 0:-)

Written like she was getting paid by the word!!

The story had potential and the characters where fun but the writing was ridiculous! How many times do you have to mention Poppys ponytail or the color of their eyes or the smell of salt air????

Another great read

Another great read, I like this one just as much as the first, the description of the goodies makes my mouth water and want to take a trip to the taffy factory down in South Carolina.

Good read.

I enjoyed Molly's latest adventure, a little bit of a slow start compared to the first book in the series but ultimately just as enjoyable.

Proper cozy mystery

Great little story with some twists along the way. Sets up the relationship between Detective Jack and Molly. Potential for many more cases to solve.
