Defiling the Temple

Rate this book
after spending several days in nepal, an American woman plans to continue on to Tibet. but trouble brews. A series of events -- seemingly harmless when viewed alone -- line themselves up, to finally ignite when she visits Tibet's holiest temple. An uncooperative security guard at the airport, an overly zealous tour guide, and a Chinese waiter who doesn't understand what stir-fried pork is set the stage. Things take a turn for the worse at Potala Palace as she follows the ghee-carrying Tibetans into the palace. Finally, the various incidences join together and erupt as she steps in front of the Jowo Rinpoche in the holiest temple of Tibet.
