A Carolina Comets Short Story (Approx. 12,000 words)

I saw her across the rooftop bar.
The first thing I noticed was her dress and the way it fit her curves so perfectly.
The second was her red hair and how it shimmered under the string lights, looking soft as silk.
The third? How her hazel eyes were begging me to come say hello.

I should be focusing on hockey and my new teammates on the Carolina Comets. But how can I when Tessa is tempting me the way she is?

I might not have wanted to come to the party in the first place, but meeting Tessa just might be a game changer.

I love a good Novella and I love Teagan Hunter so this was perfect.

Ford and Tessa are SO FREAKING HOT together. I mean the spice is this book is top tier, which I am not at all surprised by because it’s always top tier with Hunter’s books. Her makes are usually dominant dirty talkers and they only seem to get more so with each book. (Except maybe Miller. He’s just like a big puppy dog. 🤣)

I also really appreciate a believable novella story line. Sometimes novellas are ridiculously unbelievable (I met you yesterday but I’m already telling you I love you! 🙄) But a one night stand that develops into a relationship? Totally believable. Especially because there wasn’t even really an expectation of it being a one night stand. Neither of them mentioned that it would only be that night or never happen again or that they weren’t interested in relationships.

They were very interested in each other, slept together, and then decided they wanted to keep doing it. The epilogue two years in the future was absolutely perfect and really, the whole story line was tastefully done.

Loved every second of it. I’m gonna miss these Comets so much but I really hope we get to see more of them in the Serpents series.

I'm not sure I can really rate this "book". This is more of a spicy book snackatizer and less of a novella. It's only 50ish pages, so I wasn't under the assumption it was anything more than a few pages of fluff. I will say that those few pages of fluff are pages of spicy fluff! Please don't read this and expect any kind of plot or character development. You do not get to know Ford or Tessa in depth at all and the plot is basically boy meets girl at a party, boy takes girl to hotel room, boy and girl get spicy, the end.

This book is a good palate cleanser as you look for your next read. OR maybe this is your sign to read the entire Carolina Comets series. Pretty sure I read all the books in a span of three weeks. I was invested!

There are good novellas, and then there are ones that miss the mark entirely. Unfortunately, this one falls into the latter category.

The biggest issue? There’s no real plot—just instant lust and a story focused solely on explicit sex. That’s fine if there’s a storyline to back it up, but here, there isn’t.

It’s marketed as a hockey romance, yet the only connection to hockey is the MMC being a player. Beyond that, there’s no hockey to be found. On top of that, the MFC’s naivety was frustrating, and I couldn’t get past the use of “Sir,” especially when it implies a woman obeying a man.

All in all, this book is a hard no for me.

This was a cute and spicy short story. We got cameos/mentions of the series MCs. Ford and Tessa take instant attraction to a hot one night hook up to forever. This short story is all smut and I ain’t complaining! I mean what do you expect from ~50 pages?

I really thought I was going to enjoy this a lot more than I actually did. Seen as I loved all the others in the Carolina Comets series.

I know with this being 50 pages, it wouldn’t be a long build up of chemistry, but I personally found this book had nothing interesting about it.
It felt like a rush plot, as there wasn’t much storyline just a long hook up!

To me, it didn’t feel like a normal TH book, so I'm looking forward to Delayed Penalty coming out next week so I can go back to loving the author🥰

This is about Ford and Tessa. It is a cute little novella at the end of the series for the Carolina Comets. I loved them together and wished we could have gotten a longer picture of their relationship as it progressed.

A Carolina Comets short story! Very short, very spicy, and very fun. I loved the set-up and that Ford and Tessa only expected one night together. The other couples from the series are mentioned, and I loved that they were included!
