This book wasn't really anything special but I do want to applaud the casual diversity in this series. My daughter had her first conscious understanding of queer families reading this book and she's currently very jealous of the fact that some kids have two dads when she just has one. Most of her understanding of the world is still filtered through the lens of how it relates to her life and being able to see a kid like her doing things she does with a family that looks different than hers was so helpful to her.
Very simple text in this board book. It's about a little girl who doesn't want to go to her ballet lesson but then ends up having a good time. I can definitely see this helping a child who has similar feelings about not wanting to go somewhere.
Cute, and I see what's happening with the story but I think there is too much going on for a toddler to follow. Especially how it jumps from one place to another.
